What is the actual upside of using two handed weapons? You're giving up all the max 50 MIT a shield gives you for..? I chose to use them so long ago I've forgotten the reason.

I would agree about evasion, but with block and high mitigation now, you can mitigate all the damage someone can does, and it's consistent, vs evasion which is all or nothing and random. In the current system high level mitigation + shield > evasion. They will also have a 20% chance to crit you

But some mob attack ignores mitigation. Probably more and more the higher we gets thru the floors. :)

True, but they ignore mitigation on crits (From what i've seen) so it applies even if you went the evasion route.
Also, the heavy armor mods give you +HP + Damage, and you get your mitigation added to you HP - Show next comments 3 more
