  1. Sunetra and I continued to search for materials with them pouncing on rocks and seeing if there was ore inside. Eventually, I found a handful more and stopped looking across the caverns at Neo’s fight. She had taken the goblin down but then backed off. I wonder if everything is all right. I know she doesn’t need my help with fighting, but is something else going on. Shaking my head, I turned back to follow Sunetra. I’m not sure I know her well enough for her to share if something major was going on. I’ll just wait until she rests again and maybe ask her if she’s okay. Yeah that’s probably the best way to approach it. Maybe she’s just pushing herself too hard to find these weapons. Shrugging to myself I kicked at some rocks and continued in my circuit around the cavern. Hopefully she doesn’t push herself so far that she gets hurt. There’s not much I can do against these goblins.

@Neopolitan (I'm so sorry, I thought I finished this post on Thursday. :/)

  2. Glancing up at Neo across the cavern, I noticed her finishing off another goblin. I wonder if she’ll want to rest again and go for another round after her energy runs out this time. I know she’s looking for something from them. I could tell she was a little frustrated. Shrugging, I continued to watch Sunetra play with the various rocks while keeping my eye out for good pieces to use for smithing. Sunetra flared up green at one point as they burned through a rock and I laughed. Crouching down I began to toss small rocks through them to see if they’d make any other colors. After the third or fourth they put their ears down in annoyance and gave me a look. “Okay, okay, I’ll stop. It’s pretty neat when you change colors though.” They looked at me with their head quirked to the side and put their paw on another rock letting it change them green. When I laughed they pounced on it, and I just shook my head standing back up and continued my search.

  3. Oh yeah, no problem. Kirbs I’ll stun it and you go for the kill.” I darted forward, activating my Sword Art, quickly slamming my fists into the weak points indicated by the Art to get the Nepent to Stun the Nepent for the moment. This should be easy. Those other Nepents were nothing and I know Kirbs can finish this one off. Hopefully, we’ll get the drop we need and be done with this quest. As I went to hit the last spot, it rushed passed me and I just missed the last mark. I saw it lunging for Ptolemy and could not do anything about it. Oh no! I mean I know I made his gear, but this is a true test of my skill. I hope it holds up and this thing doesn’t wreck him. Kirbs can still finish it off though, and I’m sure he can take at least one hit.

  4. Finally, I sat up as I received the message from Neo about leaving the materials near to her. I shrugged, and as I left the field of wildflowers stopped to pick a few. As I made my way back to her spot on the lake I managed to forage up quite a bit. I found some mushrooms a little further in the woods, some good strong sticks for the hafts of weapons, and some good ore just lying around on the ground waiting to be picked up. I put my hands in my pockets merrily whistling to myself as I made my way down the path with Sunetra walking next to me, her flames singing a lot of the plants along the way. As we reached Neo, I added my materials to the pile and wordlessly offered her a few of the wildflowers I had picked with a big grin on my face.

  5. As I crept back towards Neo, I saw the same group pass her and drew in my breath waiting. If they all attacked her at once she might be in trouble and I wouldn’t be much help. Luckily they passed without incident as she struck the goblin in front of her again and distracted him. Sighing in relief Sunetra and I wandered back closer to where she was Sunetra once again playing joyfully with no real idea of the threat that just passed over the two of us. I picked through their toys and found some more good gems and ores and put them in my inventory. After that I watched them play for a few moments before reaching down and grabbing a rock and throwing it for them. They scampered off after it and I, chuckling under my breath, followed them. Just not a care in the world other than what is right in front of them.

  6. Walking along, humming to myself with Sunetra by my side I kept an eye out for more good tailoring materials. At least along this part of the path, all I saw was a bunch of trees without anything else very promising. I wonder if this quest makes it harder to find materials. Usually I’d just walk out and stumble over 5 materials that I needed almost immediately but today I’ve been struggling to even find the materials I need. Ah well, I guess it doesn’t matter. I’ve got to do it either way if I want to switch professions, so I’m stuck out here until I find the required materials anyway. Harder, easier, makes no difference if it has to be done. “See anything promising, little one?” I asked Sunetra. They just meowed at me and we kept walking going deeper into the forest proper searching for more cotton or jute plants.

  7. Walking a little further on, Sunetra and I finally found some materials for tailoring in the form of some wild cotton plants. Finally, maybe if I get lucky a few more times I can get on with this quest already! I am ready to get back to working in my shop. It is the most restful time of my day and it feels odd to not have it in my daily routine lately. Continuing on deeper into the forest, I kept my eye out for more cotton or flax plants to collect materials from. This is certainly different than collecting ore, and a bit lighter if I may say so. Not as much fun though as Sunetra melting through rocks to find it though. Chuckling to myself, I started humming as I went down the trail, trying to keep myself entertained as I searched for the required materials I needed for this new profession.

  8. As I continued walking it occurred to me that I'd have to modify my business quite a bit to make it work. My house is on floor nine which is filled with soot and ash. Not exactly a great place for clothes. But if I could design all of my clothes to be multi-functional, i.e. keep you cool in the heat and warm in the cold, and then had a place that was kept cool, relatively, somehow so my shoppers could shop in peace. OH! And the lava would probably help dry out materials to make the cloth and armor. Which I guess if you get technical you don't have to refine the process so much but it feels more natural that way.  As I was walking down the trail I kept an eye out for materials to gather and for the moment saw nothing. Not having much luck with getting materials so far today though, am I?

  9. As I reached the edge of the Town I began immediately to look around for materials to gather up. I saw some boars and wolves in the distance. No monsters here on Floor One would give me pause, but I wasn’t sure where to find things for tailoring. I started towards the forest whistling a tune merrily to myself but at least at first glance I didn’t find anything. Letting Sunetra down I warned them “Don’t burn down the forest, now.” They meowed up at me and trotted alongside me happily. I just wandered along into the forest and kept whistling along enjoying the smaller animals scampering through the underbrush and the birds singing in the trees. This isn’t such a bad day to be out gathering is it? Hopefully it won’t take long and I can go back and make something for Rufus and get back to my business.

  10. Maybe if I got them a bunch of steel balls and play things? Or maybe if I caught some other fire creatures for them to hunt? I’m just not sure what would be fun for them. Sunetra pounced on a large pile of rocks half melting into them and just revealing more stone. As we continued, though I kept an eye on Neo, I ranged a little farther hoping to find good materials to bring back. They still scampered around me pouncing on rocks and meowing occasionally. Suddenly we both stopped as we heard another sound. Very quickly, we ducked behind a rock and Sunetra dimmed their light down and some goblins walked by just minding their own business. Maybe I better head back, I might be getting to the edge of the caverns. Slowly, without alerting the goblins I crept back the way I came towards Neo and her safety.

  11. I walked into Rufus’ Tailoring shop in the Town of Beginnings with a smile. I had gotten a lot of questions about light armor and making other things for people lately so I thought I would look into tailoring as a profession to augment my smithing. As I went up to accept the quest, it warned me that I could only have one profession. This I will have to consider. It seems like there are quite a few more blacksmiths around and only a couple of tailors. I tapped my chin while thinking about it some more. All that beautiful lava and heat will go to waste, but I might just get more business than I have been getting. Yeah, okay I’ll giving tailoring a try. I accepted the quest and Rufus told me the first part was going out and gathering some materials. Laughing a little bit I headed towards the gates of the Town of Beginnings. This part I was used to.

    Quest Objectives:

    Spoiler
    • Gather (5) materials and bring them to Rufus' Sewing Station.
      • Go into the wild and gain materials through any standard means (gathering, fishing, combat). Non-combat gathering is recommended for this task.
    • Craft an item in Rufus' Sewing Station.
      • Make a standard Crafting Roll (Dice Roller Tutorial). Specify the item type in the Roll Purpose (must be a Tier 1 item). Use the Crafting Die Chart for a Rank 1 Tailor:
        • [1] = Critical Fail (Lose materials)
        • [2-5] = Fail (Lose materials)
        • [6-9] = Salvage (Keep materials on LD 11+)
        • [10] = Uncommon item (1 slot)
        • [11] = Rare item (2 slots)
        • [12] = Perfect item (3 slots)
      • Submit the successfully crafted item for Evaluation.
      • NOTE: You keep the item you craft as a reward for completing the quest, as well as any leftover materials. For example, your first crafting attempt has an 11 CD result. You submit a rare item for Evaluation and keep that item and the remaining four crafting materials. This is in addition to the 5 crafting materials listed in the quest rewards.

    Quest Requirements:

    Spoiler
    • At least one [1] Page (20 or more posts)
    • Players must RP searching for materials and crafting their item.
    • If a party of players undertakes this quest together (as in, each player wishes to become a blacksmith), each must succeed on their own objectives (e.g. each must gather 5 materials and successfully craft 1 item).
    • Accompanying players who are not undertaking the quest do not have to gather their own materials and are ineligible for quest rewards.

    Quest Rewards:

    Spoiler
    • <<Tailor>> Profession
    • Successfully Crafted Item
    • Standard <<Tailor>> Shop (Able to have a Tailor thread in the Merchants & Shops section)

  12. As I wandered deeper into the cave, I kept my eye on Neo fighting so I wouldn’t get too far away. I know the Cavern here is relatively safe, but I don’t think I’m quite up to wandering alone on floor 21 quite yet. Maybe when Sunetra and I train some more. Sticking with Miss Neo means it shouldn’t take too long as long as we are under her wing. It seems like she is willing to do quests with us, so we should be ready to tackle this place in no time! I kept watching Sunetra play with a smile on my face and kept my eye out for when they found really good pieces of rock with solid ore in them that I could use in the smithy. Grinning and shaking my head, as I picked up a few of the better pieces they left behind I decided I really did need to find a way to play more with them and work out all this energy.

  14. Humming quietly to myself, watching Sunetra play with the rocks and bat them around I just smiled. This hasn’t been a bad trip at all so far. I just hope Neo can find whatever it is she’s looking for killing those goblins. I picked up a few promising looking rocks filled with ore after they have been melted a bit by Sunetra’s paws. Chuckling at their manic energy, I kept following them. I guess I should play with them more, I’m just not sure how to play with a creature that is all fire. I guess like this. Shrugging to myself, I kept watching them and how they played trying to come up with something we could do at home. They finally noticed my study of them and suddenly stopped. “What are you tired now?” Suddenly they sprang back into action leaping over a stalagmite and pouncing on another unaware rock. Shaking my head, but still grinning I followed them deeper into the cave.

  15. I wonder what those kobolds were looking for though. I briefly looked around the area to see if anything caught my eye but nothing looked particularly interesting. I was hoping for some treasure. Oh well. I started back towards Krycim with a spring in my step and whistling tunelessly to myself. Fighting with the mimic had been a rather harrowing experience. I didn’t know I had it in me to murder someone who threatened my friends in this game, but it was definitely a worthwhile experience. I didn’t expect to react the way I did or to have to fight more to purge those feelings of violence out of my system. I didn’t like the thought that I might be killing an actual person instead of a monster, but luckily that was just an NPC for the quest. How do I turn in that quest anyway? Then suddenly as I stepped back into Krycim, I got a quest completed pop up and received my rewards. Interesting. I got a new skill? It should definitely be useful.

  16. Watching the kobold for another opening I saw him stumble a bit and watch the bleeding slowly leech away his hit points. Shrugging I darted forward under his guard and delivered a simple punch to his gut. As he shattered into blue sparks I grinned. Apparently this was the kind of fight that I needed to get out whatever it was that the mimic put into my head. I stood there for a moment before hitting the loot all button just to savor my victory. It is strange to think of myself as wanting to fight, and enjoying it, but at the same time isn’t it inevitable? I mean if I hated fighting I could always just make arms and armor for the front lines but wasn’t all this questing meant to teach me a love of fighting. I thought about this for a long moment before shrugging. Whatever I am becoming, I am okay with. Even if it is someone who makes hard decisions sometimes.

  17. I ran directly at him and let him attack me first, dodged it easily and slammed my foot into the side of his head causing a huge gaping wound wear my greaves tore open a gash above his eye. As he began bleeding a danced back and began looking for another opening watching his hit points drop to almost half of what they were. Without your friends, it’s much easier to beat you. I’m kind of glad I didn’t try and fight them one at a time, it would have been a pretty pitiful work out. I’m not sure it would have worked for what I needed this for. As I watched the kobold recover from my blow, I shook my head. I guess I did need this but that is still a strange thing to think. The game has changed me that much in this little time? That I need to fight now?

  18. Dodging the first kobolds strike easily, I slammed my fist into his chin performing a spinning uppercut. As he began to explode into the blue sparkles I was used to by this point, I landed on my feet to face the last kobold. There was a slight bit of fear in its eyes since it was now facing me alone but it still slashed out at me at a lightning fast speed. I wasn’t quite quick enough with my dodge so it struck me along the chest and I grunted with the slight buzz of pain as I watched my health drop. It is going to be close but I’ve got this guy no problem. Grinning again, I set my fighting stance and watched him for a moment curious what he would do now that he didn’t have his buddies to watch his back. He still fell into the same fighting stance as before, which meant he was open to a lot of different attacks.

  19. Targeting the next closest to death, I realized my energy had recovered some. I unleashed a flurry of kicks on one of the kobolds and then danced back away from his counter attack. I wasn’t quite fast enough for the second kobold to miss me, but watching the first kobolds hit points drop to almost nothing I started feeling relieved. I’ve got this without a problem. My hit points are pretty low, but I think I can take the last one out before he gets me. Just let me finish this last one off. I began looking for an opening and the kobolds backed off into a defensive stance again. Both sides were just staring at the other for a moment before I let out a laugh. What am I doing? Treat these guys just like boulders and punch your way through them already. I ran at them again ready to dodge their initial attacks.

  20. No, I better go ahead and drink a potion. Watching warily, I very quickly pulled a potion from my belt and chugged it. I barely had time to dodge aside as the Kobolds continued their attacks. The bloodied one slashed me, and my armor tore into him as he did. I saw the last of his hit points drop from the blood loss as I was shallow slashed across the chest by one of the two remaining kobolds. The dying kobold dropped to his knees before shattering into shards, and I danced back. I watched my health finish filling from drinking the potion, and then drop again to about where it was before. Well at least I took one of them out, and it bought me another round or two, right? I faced off with the remaining two kobolds and sighed to myself. I guess it wasn’t a complete waste of time.

  21. Leaping into the air I slammed my foot into the middle kobolds face and finished my roundhouse. He stumbled back for a moment and I just grinned.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw one of the kobolds trying to take advantage of my moment of savoring my hit and I immediately dodged to the side not thinking about the other kobold who got a severely savage slash into my back. I fell to the ground for a moment before rolling back up to my feet and planting them again. I’ve got two almost down, and one pretty hurt, but I can’t keep going like this. I think it’s time to use some more of my potions. I don’t think I want to risk it anymore. I could see the middle kobold was bleeding profusely as it got back up. Well, maybe I can try to take him out first?
