Baldur knelt down on the cushion as he watched the girl scramble about for the blade while her master lounged and smoked. It was definitely an interesting shop, and the shopkeeper seemed to have some air of mystery about her. Finally, the blue haired girl came forward with a katana in its ivory saya. Baldur pushed his way into the merchants shop. He didn't normally frequent other merchants, but Raidou had sent him a message to come by the shop and pick something up. As he pushed his way into the traditional looking fantasy shop, he saw the walls lined with manequins for armor and weapon mounts hung on all sides. It appeared the store had everything in stock except for a hand in a jar. He squinted. Was that a hand in a jar on the top shelf in the back? He wouldn't quite make it out, before a young woman popped up to welcome him to her master's shop. "Ah... yes... I'm Baldur. -

I agree with you on parts of this, and disagree with you on parts of it, but it's mostly pedantic and not really in the scope of this discussion. I understand your point. This is why I trust you to balance this. However, I've been around to see some pretty amazing staff abuse in the past. Had I some hope that you guys would still be the staff leads in a year, or 2 years, then my opinion on this point might change. I think I picked up in chat that the benchmark level being discussed was Paragon level 75, which would be equivalent of someone being level 375? I feel like that must be a typo, but it doesn't really bear into my decision. I don't like the idea of custom skills or sword arts. For me, it goes against the setting. If we wanted to have player submitted skills that were added to the complete list, that might be one thing, as long as anyone could take them. I also don't like the idea of power creep. Baldur pushes his way into Oscar shop for the second time in as many days, since he had met them before they discussed going on the forgotten king quest. "Ohayo, Oscar-san. Baldur knocked on the door and then pushed his way into the shop, calling out to Zandra as he came in. The shop had grown more and more familiar to him over time, and now, though their relationship had been strained at the boss to enter the labyrinth, he and Zandra had fought together enough that he knew and trusted her. I like the idea of having different sword arts for 1 hand, reflecting that they're faster, and for 2 hand, reflecting that they're slower, but hit harder. I also am down with different weapons reflecting that differently. Such as perhaps a Katana being a faster two handed weapon than a 2 hand axe, but the axe hits harder. I also think you can kinda simplify things by saying that Rank 5 attacks have a 3 round cooldown, rank 4 attacks have a 2 round cooldown, etc... as a base and then if it's a particularly stronger attack, you can bump it up a round. Haz is 31. Cosi I think is either about to hit T2 or just recently hit it. Don't know Kairi well enough. Su is still pretty low, as is Krysta. If you want me to focus my powerposting elsewhere, I can start powering up Katagawa for tanking (she's only 12 right now though).

Kairi is like level 31ish as well but she is more of a bruiser like Hazado is. DPS/Tank. Krysta is borderline T2.

Baldur pushed open the door to Zandra's shop and gave a smile and a wave to the berserk healer. She and the gaijin samurai had been corresponding about some healing items that he had needed in order to restock from the previous event boss they had gone through. That and the floor boss before it had sapped Baldur's entire supply of party heal crystals, and had left him with nothing. Things had been going so well. It seemed like there wouldn't be any misunderstandings, no confusion, everyone was going to get along just fine. Baldur watched with a breath of relief and a smile as Lessa seemed to be able to read the situation and react calmly, instead of making the situation worse at Baldur's expense, or being hurt by a misunderstanding.
