It was boggling to me the XP difference between getting to Rank 4, and the gap to Rank 5.

Yea, but Rank 4 comes with nothing (lol) and Rank 5 would be awesome for getting experience, except you're already topped out. It's just weird. It also helps create an actual economy, since now there is a Col to Material exchange rate, where there wasn't before. It's just all kinds of bizarre, and that's why I created a crafter balance thread to discuss it.

Does that mean the LD cap is bumped up to 3? or only weapons can get that new cap? ._. why can weapon weapons even get LD? ._.

It means that the Loot Die enhancement can be placed on a weapon for up to +3 LD yes. They did this (probably) so that you'd have to sacrifice damage to it. Maybe this makes sense for Dagger users, since they do more damage than most without any damage mods on their weapons XD
