In some ways, yes. For fisherman you just need to switch some percentages around (A suggestion I made 8 months ago, QQ) and it'd be fine-ish, even if it's just a clone of chef. Would be cool if it did its own thing though.

Performer is very meh. It's basically a discount alchemist and chef that never works against floor bosses making them debatebly worthless. Get a chef to give you +1 BD food instead of getting a -1 evasion crystal, get an alchemist to make you healing potions and crystals, so forth. And only +1 luck from the Monster Call crystals is pretty negligible. Go to an artisan and get a non-consumable accessory for +2 LD.

The reason I picked fisherman however, and why I am the most experienced fisherman in the land? RP. Forget efficiency, just do what feels right IMO. That said, you can't undo your choice. So that's a thing.

yea... My main goal was to do the whole Cleric-y Bard bit so I could do battle healing and first aid, while supplementing it with Mass HP recovery and buffs to party, but sadly, there aren't that many buffs...

I think the Performer bit needs to be updated a bit... Give us the ability to buff our allies better or debuff ALL enemy mobs, with no catch 22s... It'd make it so Alchemists still have a huge use with the types of things we don't get access to, while we have the whole debuff bit which they don't have access too...

Basically this was the official statement I got back in September when I made a vote to change fishing along with my suggestions. I'd say don't hold your breath on it, but do what you gotta do. It is worth mentioning you don't NEED to pick a profession. :P
