  2. Beat arrived on the teleporter pad, wrapped in a warm coat and a slight scowl on his face for having to return to the floor he had told himself he was never going to return to. Beat had a articular dislike for the cold and this floor was certainly the epitome of that very thing. He looked around and quickly spooted a hot cocoa vendor and made his way over as the holiday festivities gradually wore his scowl down. "One please! Largest you have!" He said to the cute vendor girl, taking his cocoa and making his way over to a large, muscular man with the most magnificent beard he had ever see
  3. It was Beat's birthday and if there was one thing he hated, it was waking up early on his birthday. Still, Shield had been coy in his message to him and that usually meant that the surly player had found something he would like. With a great yawn, he made the lengthy journey from the safe zone on the twenty first floor to the place he had once called home. It had changed since his home was no longer attached to it, but resources had forced him to settle for his current location. I hope it's not a quest...I don't quest on my birthday... He pushed the front door open and looked around. Th
  4. House Name: Beat’s Eats Location: Floor 21 Right next to the hot Springs Description: Beat’s house is a little different in that his business kitchen is in the front and actually extends into the kitchen in his home, separated by a wall and a door. With the housing patch changing housing, it made sense to have his business and his home in one place. Japanese architecture and a comfortable stylish interior make his restaurant and his home welcoming and his business inviting. Being located right next to the hot springs, he has easy access to the relaxing attraction and his business se

  6. Beat sat in his cafe, flipping through his inventory, his brow furrowed in discontent. While his regeneration armor was indeed effective, it was far from optimal against certain kinds of attacks. I suppose it does avoid having to worry so much about effects that overcome mitigation, but in terms of sheer damage reduction, mitigation is usually the way to go if I take more than one hit at once. I'm not a tank and I can't use a shield with my martial arts, so my defensive options are fairly limited. Beat stood up, popped a handful of popcorn in his mouth and quickly headed to the mai
  7. My shop is now open to the public and I have recently updated my prices. Come on in and stock up on delicious consumables at reasonable prices!

  8. Beat sat at the bar in his cafe, flipping through his list of ingredients, trying to calculate how he would satisfy the upcoming demand for lower tier consumables that they would need for the upcoming battle with the twenty first floor boss. His brow furrowed as he began to think about the potential outcomes. The idea of losing a frontliner was frightening for a lot of reasons. They needed every strong sword they could get on the frontlines and losing anyone meant their progress through the game would be slowed that much more, something Beat had grown less and less comfortable with as the cons
  9. Beat was making noise in his kitchen as usual, concocting a delicious treat to help celebrate the defeat of the monstrous bird that had been plaguing the thirteenth floor. It hadn't been a terribly hard fight, but the bird had certainly shown off the game's more advanced AI, something that excited the martial artist. Beat smiled as he finished his minor project, picking it up and turning to walk to Shield's shop. "Okay, all ready. Now to find out if this things was worth the effort!" Walking into his friend's shop, Beat brandished a small chocolate cake with a smooth, shiny chocolat
  10. Beat finished eating breakfast, ready for his quest with Atzo. He was looking forward to making a quick stop into Shield's shop to pick up that piece of regeneration armor that he had been eyeing since their adventures on the eleventh floor. It wouldn't stop everything coming at him, but it was better than nothing and, on short notice, it was probably the best he was going to be able to do. He made the short trip through the city of beginnings with Horus flying above and landing on top of the merchant shop as Beat walked inside. "Heyo! You around Shield?" He walked straight to the a
  11. Beat refilled the glass of a customer as his fingers danced in the air, the ghostly menu that floated in front of him moving by at a blistering pace. Beat was doing a quick inventory or his stock and wanted to be sure that he was sufficiently prepared for the higher difficulty floors once he and Shield reached tier 2. He ceased filling the glass and his brow furrowed as he spotted a problem in his stock of battle ready items. So stupid...I’d better go take care of this now before I forget. “Be right back!” Beat quickly rushed to Shield’s shop and went straight towards the shelf
  12. Beat sat in his cafe, his fingers dancing through the air as he poured over his menus. HE had been doing a little more solo questing as of late and, while he had been lucky so far, had realized that some defensive items were in order. Training Horus to enhance his damage had freed his item options up considerably, allowing him to gear more defensively should he need extra protection during a quest or if a player killer made a move against him. Let's hope it never comes to that... Making a decision, he rushed through the streets to Shield's shop, opening the door and giving his frien
  13. Beat barged into the shop, having received communication from Shield about needing his lucky ring. He wasn't happy to part with it, but he knew it would be coming back to him. Plus the merchant warrior had promised Beat a piece of armor in exchange. Beat did most of his adventuring along side Shield, but he knew there would be times when he would want a little extra protection in leu of some of his damage. He walked up to the counter and pulled up his menu. He retrieved the ring from his inventory and laid it on the counter. "Hey! I've got food to burn! Let's do this thing!" He wou
  14. Beat opened the door and the bell chime could be heard as he excited walked inside. Crimson handwraps in hand, he wondered what else would be found on them, knowing that some items were said to be secretly unique. He understood that it was totally possible that they would be stuck at a rare quality forever, but he knew he would always wonder and regret if he didn't find out for sure. At first, he didn't see his friend behind the counter so he took his time walking around and browsing the standard merchandise being sold. Most of it was pretty basic, but things like teleport crystals were offere
  15. Beat smiled at the now red handwraps and handed his friend 2 materials in exchange after returning his fist bump, something that had become a bit of a thing between them. Fist bumping was exactly rare, but they acknowledged success and fortune with a good fist bump. He added the wraps into his inventory and immediately equipped them. They had been loose hand wrap made from an off white cloth before, but now they were a brilliant crimson, tightly wrapped without a tatter in sight. He threw some quick jabs in a mixture of series to test them out, enjoying the pressure the wraps applied to his ha
  16. Beat ran through the crowded side street, slipping in between the small opening that the crowd afforded him. He was excited to see Shield's new shop and was equally curious as to which profession he had chosen. He thought to himself as he made his way closer. Man, I'm slacking on that...I need to find a mentor chef... Soon he arrived, stopping to look at the outside of the "calculator's" shop. He read the sign and immediately looked down at his recently acquired handwraps. A wide grin appearing on his face, he quickly made his way inside, giving a small wave to Shield as he began to
