  1. Alec approached the shop completely shocked he had never seen it before. Then it hit him why he had never seen it. When he walked the crowded streets if the Town he was always scowling and glaring at everything never actually looking at what was around him and available. Alec made his way slowly over to the Shopkeeper. "Good morning my name's Alec." he said in a low rumbling baritone. "This is a lovely set up you have here. I'm sorry I've never stopped by before. I apologise. When I am within the Town I tend to be a little off putting. For that I am very sorry! In the future I work on being better at seeing those around me and I will try to stop by more often. I've only recently start adventuring and will be needing supplies in the future. I will look here to fill those needs. I saw your give away. May I please have 1 Crystal of Agile Wings?" Alec asked.

Alec reached out his large hand and with a swift downward swipe opened his inventory and looked at its contents. Out of sheer habit he selected his brown wool pants and equipped them. Then he tapped his sturdy worn brown leather boots and equipped those as well. Finally he selected his bear skin shoulder wrap and selected that as well causing it to materialize out of thin air resting upon his broad shoulders. Now that he was fully clothed he turned toward the wooden door that led from his tiny room to the tiny hallway beyond. Alec took the one step it took him to travel from his bed to the door that led to the hallway beyond and reached out wrapping his large hand around the knob turning it and pulling the door open. With the door open Alec stepped out into the hallway and pulled his door closed behind him.

Alec flexed his tree trunk like legs and received a final CCRREEEAAAKKKK from the bed as he stood to his full height inside the small room. Alec felt all the usual knots and kinks in his body that bid him a good morning every day upon waking up. Alec stretched his arms out wide eliciting the expected and customary pop from his sternum spreading apart and shifting to its natural position. Alec then rolled his shoulder forward causing a series of pops and cracks ad his shoulders reset themselves to their customary position. Finally Alec leaned forward and stretched down towards his toes sighing in relief as each and every vertebrae in his spine popped and reset to its correct spot. With his morning stretches and readjustments out of the way Alec stood and walked a tight circle around the room before opening his inventory.

Alec shifted his weight in the bed and received an alarming loud CCRREEEAAAKKKK as he rolled from his back to a sitting position placing his bare feet on the cold hardwood of the tiny room he rented in one of the Town of Beginnings many Inns. Most were exactly alike. Small rooms with no decorations, wood floors with no rugs and about as bare bones plain as you could get. The lack of niceties didn't bother Alec, he didn't need many creature comforts "But a freaking larger bed sure would be nice!" Alec thought to himself. But he'd tried a handful of different Inns since being stuck here in the Death Game known as Sword Art Online and more or less they were all the same a minor cosmetic difference here and there but fundamentally they were all the same. Beds too small, tiny rooms and very Spartan in nature. "Oh well." thought Alec as he scrubbed his hands over his bald head and scratched his fingers through his thick salt and pepper beard.
  5. Alec again found himself walking into The Blazing Typhoon the Backsmith shop belonging to Macradon. Alec really liked it here the shop was very neat and orderly and the Balcksmith was incredibly helpful and a Master at his craft beyond a doubt! He had made Alec's Mithril Battle Axe and Alec felt it was time to get another piece made. He needed a new set of Heavy Armor. He had been using the Reinforced Heavy Iron Breastplate he had gotten in his initial Tank Package when he had started the game but now it was time to upgrade and he had a good idea what he was looking for and was sure that Macradon was the Blacksmith for the job. Alec stepped up to the counter and his perpetual scowl momentarily softened as have gave Macradon a large smile. "Hello again Sir." Alec deep baritone voice boomed as he reached out his hand to offer a firm handshake. "I can't say enough good things about the Mithril Axe you made me and I find myself in need of another piece if you have the time and inclination to help out a low level aspiring Tank? I need a new set of armor if you have the time." Alec asked
  6. Alec awoke from his sleep and stretched his arms and legs. THUMP CCRREEAAKK. "Ggrrrrrrrr!!" Alec growled as his smashed his hands into the wall and his legs connected with the foot board of his cramped wooden bed. Alec's face instantly adopt its natural scowl that rested there nearly permanently since bring stuck here in Aincrad. Alec withdrew his legs and fought the nearly overwhelming urge to intentionally slam then into the foot board in an attempt to break the already rickety wooden framed bed. Thus damnable place was too small. Everything was too small here. It was built for regular sized people. Alec's nearly six and a half foot frame with his overly wide shoulders and back was too large for everything he'd encountered here so far. Beds were too small, doorways made him duck, he couldn't pass someone in a hallway with out having to turn sideways and suck in his chest, the stairways felt like he was walking through a shoe box. Everything was just to small! Some days Alec awoke with a near berserk rage. He always seemed angry or frustrated here. Why was that? He wasn't like this back home. At home he always had a ready smile or a deep baritone laugh that shook his entire body and invariably made everyone around him laugh and be happy too. Here though he was always irritated! Unless he was outside the Town. There it was Alec thought he needed to get outside the Town. He'd be been outside the last few days. He needed to get out today. Quest or no quest he needed to outside the walls.
  7. Alec walked the streets of the Town of Beginnings searching for purpose and meaning in his life's recent events. After a time what @Macradon had said to him sunk in and rang true. “You can stay if you want to, get some experience on how meetings can be held, and learn a bit about the frontliners, it’s an opportunity not many get or have available. It's of course up to you.” Alec would take this chance given to him and learn all he could of those that fought on the Front Line and risked their lives for others clearing the game. Alec turned back and strode with long purposeful steps that carried him directly to the amphitheater. His pace never wavered, his steps never faltered. He walked right up to the entrance he had used before and walked back through it again. His massive frame filled the walkway as he strode down the steps of the amphitheater one heavy footfall after the last. He strode purposefully down the aisle till he reached the row Macradon had been sitting in. Alec walked over with a new sense of self worth and self assure and sat back down on the bench next to the Blacksmith and gave him a nod and solid smile as he sat down. A smile that said “I’m sorry. You were right. I understand what you were saying and I’m here now to learn.” With that Alec resumed his usual stoic demeanor his perpetual scowl firmly affixed on his face as he sat quietly listen to the proceedings and learning all he could of those who would one day be hiss peers and battle brothers and sisters.

  9. Alec walked through the Town of Beginnings with a renewed sense of purpose. He knew his path now and nothing would deter him from it. He walked alone through the streets relishing the quiet empty space. Why couldn’t it be more like this always he thought. Then the answer struck him like a back of bricks. Because most of the people stuck here were scared! They couldn’t fight on the Front Lines because they feared for their lives and needed someone to protect them and look out for them and deliver them from this hell they were all trapped inside. Alec would be that person. The inscription on the back of his shield suddenly clicked like it never had before. “When the tides rise, become the storm.” Alec wasn’t the storm that would cleanse this he was the storm that would sweep everyone to safety. He was the storm that would wash them all away from here and deliver them to freedom. Alec’s heart felt lighter than it had on a long time and and felt his resolve and conviction harden and solidify. He had truly found his purpose now and he would fulfil it!!
  10. As Alec left the Inn and entered the Town of Beginnings now mostly deserted streets Alec’s heart and head felt lighter. He felt a renewed sense of purpose. He would learn what he could of the Front Line Players and their personalities before he became one of them they would know of him before they knew him. Then when he joined their ranks and fought with them side by side it would be seamless. There would be no learning curve to overcome. He would step into his role and they would know who he was and how he thought that would ensure the safest transfer and least likely chance for failure. “Yes.” Alec thought his feet always carried him to where he was needed. They had before but he’d been to scared and nervous. But then they’d carried him to clear his head and now they’d carry him back to where he would be needed once more.
  11. Alec drank down his ale in a few large long draws that would have surely left him buzzed if he had done that in the real world. Then Alec picked up the last of his whiskey and eyed the brown liquid searching its depths for the answers he sought. After a few moments divining the glass and its dark brown liquid Alec raised it on high and in his deep rumbling voice toasted “To the Front Lines and knowing my future peers.” With that Alec upended the rest of the glass in a slow smooth gulp and set it down on the table standing from the chair with another loud CCREAAK as his weight shifted and he rose to his feet. Alec walked away from the table and across the common room to the door leaving the Inn. Alec pulled the door open and left the Inn again entering the streets of the Town of Beginnings.
  12. Alec sat sipping his whiskey while he went through the last few days events in his head. Much had happened to him and he had experienced many new things. On thought kept nagging at him though through it all. What Macradon had told him as he hurried out of the amphitheater. “Hey, you can stay if you want to, get some experience on how meetings can be held, and learn a bit about the frontliners, it’s an opportunity not many get or have available. It's of course up to you.”. How could he just up and run out like that. Macradon had been right when would he ever get a chance like this again. To meet the Front Liners and see how they thought and acted, what they cared about and what was important to them. If he wanted one day to be one of them then he would have to learn them now. He had to know them before he could be one of them!
  13. As Alec entered the Inn’s Common Rom his boots made heavy thumps as he crossed the wooden floor from the door to one of the empty tables. Once he arrived he pulled a wooden chair out from under the table with a loud SSCCRRRAAATTCCCHHH sound as the wood was drug against wood. Once the chair was out Alec positioned himself to sit. As he lowered his massive frame onto the chair it let out an alarming CCRREEEAAAKKK as he eased his weight onto the wooden chair. Once he was seated he looked to the Innkeeper to order a drink. Alec called for an ale and a glass of whiskey. He sat sipping the whiskey and thinking about all the things he had already run through his mind today. His quest the culmination of the Tutorial Quests what he had seen and heard at the Raid Meeting. It was a lot to take in and process but that;s exactly what Alec had to do now.
  14. After sitting for some time in the grove thinking Alec noted that the sun was starting to go down. He sighed a heavy sigh and raised himself from where he was sitting and slowly strode out of the grove and reentered the Town’s streets. Luckily for Alec as it was getting into the evening time the populace had started to thin out on the streets. Alec found it wasn’t near as crowded as it had been in the morning. Alec made his way casually from the grove back toward the Inn. It was about a half an hours walk from the grove tot the front door of the Inn. As Alec approached he heard the tell tale sounds of conversation coming from inside the Inn. Alec placed his large hand on the knob and opened the door lighting up the street around him and himself from the lights inside the Inn. Alec stepped through the doorway and entered the Inn pulling the door closed behind him.
