  1. Kane was fine with letting Trinoko have his attempt first at getting new weapons, though it didn't quite go as planned. He turned to Seldentar, placing his two stingers on the table. "If you'd like, I'll just leave these here and come back tomorrow for the armor, if luck is on our side."
  2. Kane grinned as Trinoko entered. "Well, I happen to have 2x Scorpion Stingers from doing a quest with this guy. Distilling the venom, would those work?"
  3. Kane pondered for a moment before answering. "I'd like a full suit of steel armor, something that is specially treated to resist paralysis. That's the most debilitating status effect, I'd like my armor to resist that."
  4. Kane gave a small wave as he greeted the smith. "I'm Kane, nice to meet you. I'm in the market for a suit of enhanced heavy armor, and I have the Col to pay for it."
  5. Kane was passing through the second floor when he noticed the small shop. Knocking on the doorframe, he entered, curious. He hadn't noticed this store before on his travels through this level. "Hello? Anybody there?" He saw the items on display, and realized this must be a forge. He waited for the blacksmith to reply, assuming he was in the back of the shop.
  6. The night was full of stars, much clearer and brighter than could be seen on Earth, but still not as bright as the lights in the Starting City. A week had passed since that madman Kayaba had trapped them all inside a beautiful prison, a gilded cage made of earth, wind, and fire. A lot had happened in a week... All over this brand new world, across the floating continent of Aincrad, people were learning just who they really were. Cowards became acutely aware of their cowardice, desperately burying their heads in the sands and losing their minds as the truth of their situation became more and mo
  7. Kane knew the value of the item he had come for. "I choose the Hoya!" he said, pointing at the pendant. The skeleton king cackled, sheathing its blade in a scabbard by its side. "A wise choice, traveler. Had you chosen the sword, I would have sheathed it in your chest! You know the value of beauty above power. So this beauty will bring you power. Bestow it upon one who brings you light." The pendant floated from King Minos' hand, straight to Kane's gauntlet. It was carved from the purest emerald and gold, gleaming in the torchlight of the tomb. He added it to his inventory: <> As Kane
  8. At long last, after a lengthy ordeal, Kane finally arrived at the crypt near the heart of the Tomb. A skeleton sat atop a throne in the center of the room. It wore a crown, and was clothed like a king. It clutched two items close to its ribcage: An ornate longsword, and a beautiful jeweled pendant. As he approached, the Skeleton came to life! Before he could raise his blade, it floated up, wreathed in a dark blue aura. Its eye holes were illuminated by cerulean flames, and it opened its jaw, speaking in an echoing voice that chilled Kane to the bone. "I am King Minos! You have defeated the
  9. Kane stood, and recovered as many of his daggers from the battlefield as possible. Sifted earth, gaping sinkholes and uncovered boulders littered the field as he retrieved four of his knives in total. Gathering his strength, he set his eyes on the Tomb. Having beat its guardian, the entrance was unguarded. Well, this one at least. Making his way inside, Kane saw the usual rat monsters and small lizards that most dungeons contained. It seemed like the majority of the Tomb's security had been the Minotaur out front. It was a tricky, maze-like architecture though, and Kane had to devote a lot
  10. Kane lay down on the ground, now alone in the middle of the forest in front of the Tomb of Minos. He began to use deep breathing, employing his <>. He sat and waited, watching his HP bar slowly fill back up as his connection with the earth was enhanced. Because of his <>, he was able to bring his HP back to full. Popping his knee back into place, Kane sighed as he checked his equipment's condition. His breastplate was dented; he'd need to have it repaired at a blacksmith's. His sword, though it had seen a lot of action, was still in remarkable shape, its Adamantine core keeping
  11. Drawing his last dagger with his one free hand, Kane rushed forward, attempting to bury it in the Minotaur's heart for the final blow! ----------------- The dagger struck true! The Minotaur roared and staggered as its HP bar reached zero. It let out a mournful bellow, almost sounding like a sad moo as it burst into a million crystal fragments. Kane sunk to his knee, still injured. Finally, he had won. Superimposed in the air came the message: <> Left in the Minotaur's place was an item drop bubble. Kane was able to access it from his position, and the item list appeared in the air:
  12. The Minotaur was about to try one last, desperate attack. Charging its fists with harsh orange light, it attempted to bring them together in a clap that would pop Kane's head like a grape if it connected! ----------------------- Kane's <> came in handy at this exact moment. Reflexively dropping his sword, he caught the Minotaur's hands in his gauntlets, keeping his head intact. Kane: 11/17 Boss: 1/23
