Water dripped rhythmically from the ceiling and pooled to form a small puddle around the boy's face, stirring his consciousness back into the world as a result. "Where...?" He started as his eyes began to focus in the darkened roomed. Or perhaps cell would have been a more appropriate word for it. Rather than a door, a large metal gate barred the entrance and even stranger still he had been stripped of all his gear and placed into a set of poorly stitched rags. What exactly was going on? He struggled to remember and when tried to bring a palm to his head he was met with the two hands bound together by rope. A HUD appeared before his eyes detailing everything that had happened leading up to this point. It was a quest. Apparently he was lured into a trap and imprisoned by bandits who were terrorizing the third floor and now he was faced with the option of escaping or dying trying to escape.

'Alright... Just stay calm.' The thought was comforting as he rose to his feet and wandered over to the gate. He peered into the torch-lit hall, but thankfully not another soul was in sight. There was no time to waste. He began tugging and gnawing at the binds around his wrists until eventually they came free and fell to the ground. It would also seem that the guards were too dumb to tie his legs and if that wasn't bad enough they left the crate housing his gear just outside of his cell. The only problem now was actually getting to it.

It was impossible how. How was he expected to break out of a place like this without any aid or equipment? Frustration drove him to bang his head against the iron bars while gripping them and in doing so he felt them move, but just a little. '...That's it!' It dawned on him that the bars actually weren't all that sturdy. If someone really wanted to they'd be able to break them down with a little bit of effort put forth. It wasn't a perfect plan but it would have to do. He'd need speed and precision if this was to work, because the bandits probably wouldn't be too fond of someone literally crashing through their hideout. One mighty tug later, he could feel the bars slightly begin to move.

The constant push and pull on the gate was wearing it down slowly but surely. Just how did he get himself into situations like this he wondered. The reward for the quest was high, though the item one received afterward was basically useless for someone like him who devoted his time to using shields. He sighed softly, figuring he'd give it away afterward and redirected his attention to the task at hand. Another push on the gate seemed to loosen it enough that he was now able to move it in a wider area, but not quite open just yet.

"Come on you piece of..." The gate was now swinging wildly as the young player pushed on it and effectively making a noise from the clanking metal. It was only a matter of time before somebody walked by and decided to investigate and if he didn't get out soon he'd have worse things to worry about than imprisonment. 'Maybe with a running start...' He thought while backing up to the opposite side of the room. Using as much speed as he could muster, he body slammed the gate. No luck. It remained closed, but was now so far from the initial point on the floor that he figured one more good attempt like that would be enough to set him free.

'1... 2... 3!' His body slammed into the gate once more and the bars flung open. The obstruction had finally given way and half the battle had been fought. Finding the exit was the second part of the quest but as long as he played things smart there shouldn't be any problem with getting out without being in a body bag. He made his way over to the crate containing his gear and inspected it carefully. Everything was there. "These bandits really aren't good at their job..." That or they figured his stuff wasn't worth anything. To be honest, he wasn't sure which one he believed.

Footsteps could be heard down the coming from other areas of the building, but by now Seul was already starting to equip his gear. His dagger, the shield, and the red and white coat completed his outfit and regardless of whether the bandits came or not, he would be ready. After gathering up the contents of his inventory he tiptoed down the hall and peeked around the corner only to be greeted by the gazes of two bandits who were staring in his direction. He ducked behind the wall and felt like his heart would bust out of his chest as a battle was now inevitable.

The steps grew louder and more frantic as they came in his direction. 'If it's a fight they want, then it's a fight they'll get!' He leapt out from behind his concealed place and ran straight at the spear-wielding duo with his shield raised and dagger drawn. The tiny blade adopted a purple glow upon the activation of his sword art, Shadow Stitch, and he closed the distance quickly in order to hit. The first guard held a spear so he should have had the advantage, but it would seem he was caught  off guard (ironically) by Seul's movements and received a horizontal slash across his chest. The boy spun on his heel and followed up with two kicks to the bandit's chest which effectively sent him sprawling tot he ground before dying in a rainstorm of pixels. "One down." He said while eyeing the second bandit who attacked with more ferocity than his fallen comrade had. The two-handed spear head only grazed Seul's cheek thanks to the timing with his shield block, but the damage was minimal anyway.

It was time to go on the defensive. He held his shield at chest height and goaded guard into attacking once more. The regeneration factor on his shield took effect and began to heal his minor wounds as a faint, green glow that shrouded his body. Ultimately he would stall until his energy was restored and finish off this bandit just as easily as he had the other. The bandit struck him in the leg with the head of his spear, but the damage was insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

They were at a standstill. Neither side wanted to attack, but Seul was only biding his time until he could bring his energy back. The bandit struck again, spinning his spear before attempting to smash the player with it but the attack was easily blocked by the shield that came between them above the boy's head. These grunts weren't anything to write home about, but the real danger would come if he ran out of energy to fight back with. As long as he rationed it out accordingly the mission would be a walk in the park.

Seul's energy and health restored quite nicely as he held his ground against the bandit's spear. A thrust attack lodged the spearhead into his shoulder and dealt a measly one point of damage against his armor. The fight was going great and he was only a few points away from being able to attack the bandit with full force. Knocked the spear away with his shield and renewed his stance, looking to the guard with a smile growing on his face. "This is fun."

The guard was obviously spooked by the boy's actions. Regardless of how many times he was stabbed and beaten, Seul wasn't dying. To an enemy like this that must've been extremely scary. "W-What's with you?" The bandit asked in a wavering voice. The player's eyes flicked to the corner of his vision where his health and energy returned to full. "I'm just someone you guys decided to capture... I guess it all worked out though, I was planning to clean up the trash that was harassing people on this floor anyway."

"S-Shut up!" The bandit responded. It would seem the man regained his sense of duty and mustered enough bravery to attack the boy once more. The tip of the spear grazed past Seul's side and shaved off another point, but he wasn't too worried. There was no need to be hasty in this. The bandit could easily be felled with his sword art and using energy when unnecessary would've just been wasteful in a place like this. "Then show me what you've got!"

Seul's words frightened the guard to his very core. Once again he cowered back in fear and was now even trembling before the player he couldn't kill. The boy didn't consider himself strong by any means and in fact only thought of himself as a mid-level player, but how he was performing now would have led him to believe otherwise. Maybe. "I'm not done yet... If this keeps up people will start to think I'm a masochist." He said while taking a step forward. "So, we might as well finish this soon."

By now the guard had dropped his weapon entirely as well as his body as he fell on to the floor. "P-Please...!" There was no room for mercy against enemies like these. Regardless of how you treated them, they weren't like players. They ran on strict scripts and possessed preset mannerisms. If he let the guard go, nothing would change. This would end here, by his own blade. "Goodbye." Finally taking an offensive stance in the battle, Seul activated Infinite, a rank three sword art. The power behind the five angular cuts was stronger than usual and left the man's armor stained red in the image of an infinity symbol briefly before he too died.

Seul sighed as he watched the defeated bandit disappear. The fight had gone on longer than he would have liked and unfortunately there was now an alarm going off throughout the prison. He needed to find the exit. Fast. He took off into a light jog down the hall, but the place was built like a maze. He could wander around for hours and probably never find the way out. But he wasn't about to give up. Any guards that dared to cross his path now would be in for a rude awakening.

It was no use. The place was far too massive to navigate on his own. He found himself often passing through areas he had already been through and to make the situation even worse, two more guards had spotted him and were quickly on their way to try and spear him to death. This was the last thing he needed. But there was no other way around it. He readied his gear once more, waiting for the bandits to come to him and strike first.

"Quick, don't let him get through to the exit!" One of the bandits called as they charged. 'Exit...?' Had the exit been in the direction they were coming from all along? There was only one way to find out and he didn't have any time to play around with the weaklings that gave it away. Bandit Guard 3 thrust his spear toward Seul's heart, but the shield managed to push it aside. With the guard's form broken he ran past him and rolled under the horizontal swing of the second guard's spear before taking off. Of course they followed him all the way to the exit, but with the way out found at last, he would have no issues with pummeling a few more guards.

He turned to face his pursuers with a smile and the two were upon in no time, stabbing both spear heads into opposite side of his body. The regeneration and recovery came through almost instantly. Seul could feel the spirit of the battle surging through him and as a result his moves were devastating to the enemy. "Infinite!" The dagger he used took on a faint glow as the move activated and the first bandit he could get close to was reduced to pixels later due to the flurry of slashes.

The remaining guard attempted to get the jump on him by circling to the player's back but as the spear thrust forward Seul stepped to the side, taking only a minor scratch to his side rather than a fatal blow. It was his turn now and he turned to slash with his dagger while keeping the spear at bay with his shield, but the bandit was too agile and leaned out of the way before the blade could make contact. "Come on now, stand still so I can kill you!" He yelled while returning to his defensive stance.

The guard lashed out again in a sweeping motion with his spear and cut the boy across the chest. It was noble effort, but it was too bad that attack would be his last. Knocking the spear away afterward, Seul decided to finish things off with another Infinite which made short work of the bandit and subsequently won him the fight. The exit had already been found and if he and any say in the matter he didn't wish to spend another second in such a place as this!
