<<The Dragon's Soul >>

Welcome Traveler, to the Dragon's Soul!

Screen Shot 2018-02-21 at 10.10.48 PM.png

Outside the city under an overhang beside a lake that sits between two mountains is where this humble two storied shop sits.  A dirt road leads out through this area allowing players to find it easily.  In front of the shop on the outside is a sort of roofless porch with an active fire in the center and multiple comfortable chairs around it.  Occasionally Itzal will sing songs here whether alone or with his friends, and chat with them.  Inside the shop the first thing people notice is that the wooden walls are painted purple with blue support beams.  The entire shop was decorated with purple and red verbana flowers as well as blue and red glowing crystals the size of an adult's palm.  Paintings also dot across the walls, ranging from beautiful fields Itzal has visited to raging battle scenes.  To the left of the shop are some deep purple and black couches for waiting or chatting, with shelves beside the two couches which will soon hold recorded crystals with no buffs, but can be used to listen to music, or in other words, sample songs, while to the right are the stairs to the second floor.  The second floor (Only accessible by those with permission) contains a tiny kitchen, and three small bedrooms.  Unenhanced song crystals are dotted throughout the building for people's listening enjoyment.

Crafting is done at the workshop in Itzal's house.  There's a teleporter that warps Itzal or Kasier back and forth from this shop to and from his house for easy transportation.

This is the format players need in order to give a custom order.  It also has a list of all possible enhancements and what they do.

Spoiler

There are two types of songs that can be crafted, as well as a specialty type of song.  The types are supporter, which has healing songs, loot songs, and familiar songs, and there are debuff songs which are self explanatory.  Specialty songs would be masterpieces.

Masterpieces are only obtainable if a high enough LD is rolled, making them harder to craft and thus more expensive, and take longer to finish.  There are two types of masterpieces you can choose from:  Mass or Instant.  Mass affects your entire party, or all of the enemies you are facing up to four mobs.  Instant means that the song in question does not require a post action, giving you the freedom to attack, flee, howl or heal as well.

Itzal sat down on the chair by the fire.  It was daytime but he loved the warmth.  He sighed satisfyingly.  This was his shop.  He finally had one.  Well, shop and home.  It wasn't huge but then again it wasn't meant to.  Velnia landed on another chair and curled up, so comfortable she might actually take a nap.  Itzal smiled at her.  What do you think Ulises?  Awesome.  Beautiful.  Peaceful.  We already discussed this.  Well yeah but this time we're actually experiencing it.  ...  You're so weird.  Well we're both the same person so you're weird as well.  ...  You know what?  I'm weird and you're crazy.  How about that?  Yeah I could go with that.  Itzal decided he better get started on getting a few songs up on the shelf.  He didn't want to open until he had his grand opening.  His plan was to invite all his friends and place notifications around.  The grand opening would include a few free songs, Itzal singing a little, possibly with a few other players, and then talking.  Once that was over he was sure to have more attention towards his shop.  He pulled out his guitar and decided to start with practicing instrumental songs.

Attempt 1.

#2 - ID:  66344  CD:  3

He tried to play a song he loved but as he played the music sounded awful.  As he continued to try Velnia winced and tried to cover her ears.  Itzal stopped before it could get any worse.  He took the crystal and tried to remove the song but it failed.  He sighed and watched as it shattered into shards.  He was guessing that the guitar needed tuning but he decided to test the theory first.  He began playing again and stopped five seconds in as he was proven right.  He discarded the crystal and made his way inside, planing on working on his instrument for half the day.  He couldn't work on any more songs until later as he had a busy schedule.

Itzal woke up and yawned.  As he stretched Velnia flew over to him and landed on his chest.  He smiled.  "Morning Velnia."  He began to get up, catching Velnia in his arms.  He walked out of his room and across the empty shop.  Nobody would be here for a long while as he hadn't opened yet.  He grabbed his guitar with his free hand and exited the shop.  He walked over to the seats by the fireplace which was always active and sat down with a sigh.  He had designed these chairs to be extremely comfortable, with just the right amount of a lean so you weren't sitting straight up like a robot, but actually in a relaxing position.  It was perfect for anyone who wanted to sit down and listen to music.  He pulled out his guitar and began to play a song or two.

Attempt 1:  ID#  66357  CD:  7  LD:  3

Attempt 2:  ID#  66358  CD:  1

When he began playing the song, he slapped his forehead as he realized he still needed to tune it.  He stopped the song and discarded the crystal before working on the tuning.  When he tried again it still wasn't good and messed the song up.  Almost, but not quite there.  He sighed as he tried to remove the song but ended up shattering the crystal.  Great.  He decided to avoid recording until he got the tuning right.

Itzal walked into his shop after a trip, eager to try again.  He had yet to succeed but he was determined to get this right.  He walked into his shop and breathed in, enjoying the feeling one gets when they've come home.  This shop was the closest thing he had to a peaceful life.  He rarely had peace and quiet in the mind, let alone in his surroundings and this place provided a little of both.  The scenery and quietness helped leech out the excess thoughts from both Itzal and Ulises.  They both sighed as they made their way over to the counter, picking up his guitar and making his way outside by the fire.  He sat down and tested his guitar.  When he was satisfied he began to record into the crystal.

Itzal flinched when he hit a note and found it off.  He wasn't frustrated and took his time to adjust the guitar.  He tried to erase the song but failed.  Frowning he let the item shatter into a million pieces before pulling out a second one.  If he didn't get this one he might have to restrain Ulises.  He began the recording and started playing the song.  As he did his smile grew until he finished the song and the recording ended.  He picked up the crystal and played it, satisfied that he was successful.  He walked into the shop to fasten it to his shelf.

Itzal walked back into his shop once again, ready for another attempt at recording songs.  When he entered the doorway he paused and imagined his place filled with customers.  After a brief moment he shook his head as he didn't want his shop TOO crowded, neither did he want things going too fast.  And besides, he'd need to fill his shelf with samples as well as place finished ones in his display case.  Once he had twice the amount he wanted to display he intended to open his shop.  When he did he wanted to invite all of his friends and place flyers everywhere.  Not many people know about what a performer can provide so he wanted the grand opening to provide that information as well as offer free samples.  He would accept song requests, sing a couple of songs, talk with friends, and then his shop would be open.  Simple as that.  For now though he picked up his guitar and walked outside, beginning to play.

He decided to try making a monster call song and thought of what would fit the theme.  He smiled when he thought of the song Indestructible by disturbed, and Ulises stirred at the thought.  Let me sing that one he said and Itzal agreed.  He played the song while Ulises used his voice to sing and amazingly their first lyrical song was successful.  Satisfied he put the crystal aside and played another song.  An instrumental one again.  Crystallize by Lindsey Stirling.  The song recording ended up perfect.  Smiling he went to put these songs in the display case.

Itzal walked into his shop a little more tired than usual.  His very own training had been exhausting him lately, more than usual.  Stronger mobs meant a lot more loot but it also meant a harder time taking them down.  Not to mention he was training Alisa every day as well as getting with many of his friends.  In truth he had no intention of recording sounds today but he decided that doing so might relax him a little.  With that thought in mind he walked over to the counter and picked up his guitar and brought it outside.  He sat down in a chair by the fire, letting it warm him up a bit before attempting to play some songs.  Unfortunately his mind was blank.  He decided to let his fingers try playing a random tune but that ended up ruining the effect and rendering the crystal as garbage.  He sighed as the crystal shattered and tried again, attempting a song but the feel wasn't in it.  Watching another material shatter before his eyes he sighed and gave up.  He decided to just go get some sleep.

As the sun shone in through his window Itzal began to wake up, yawning and stretching his arms and legs.  As he did Velnia woke up as well, rising up from the little spot in the bed she deemed most comfortable.  Itzal climbed out of bed and walked over to one of the chairs inside, pulling out the new guitar he had recently received.  He intended to purchase it but the owner gave it to him for reasons he wouldn't say.  Whatever the reasons he now had a better guitar and would be able to craft songs a little bit easier now.  He pulled some water out of his inventory as well as pretzels Adhae had given him the day before and ate those for breakfast.  The cool water woke him up and he was ready to try out his new instrument.  He took it and walked outside, sitting on the chair by the fire.

When he first attempted to play a song it came out a little off.  He stopped the recording and watched the crystal shatter.  Then he retuned the guitar and stopped as he wondered which song to put into this new one.  He smiled as he figured out just the one.  He began to play the song and was pleased to hear the effects.  When the recording was done he named the item and decided to put this one on the shelf.

Itzal walked into his shop, fully refreshed and relaxed.  He had just finished a nice walk on floor one, which had become a more and more frequent activity for him.  He only made walks on floor one for two reasons:  Out of floors one through three, one was the most beautiful.  the second reason was he wasn't ready to train on floors three and up yet.  Almost, but not yet.  He had no trouble on floor one ever since he had decimated the wargs who originally ruled over the wolf packs.  Now the new warg was young and being taught to respect the dangers of players, and Itzal himself was earning the pack's full respect.  They even helped him from time to time.  When he began training in the higher floors he would scout out what all the monsters were like and how strong they each were, their strengths and weaknesses, before deciding which to grind against and which to avoid.  For now however he sighed and picked up his guitar, moving to the fire outside.

As he began to play he realized that the songs were turning out splendid.  The first song was made into a monster call.  A fitting choice for the song he chose.  The second song ended up perfect so he selected familiar call.  After all, those were really the only enhancements he could use currently.  Satisfied with his work he placed the two crystals in the display case.

Itzal had finished a long fight last night, and ended up having to sleep in.  Three stupid goblins.  Still, despite the fact that it lasted long, it proved that he was ready for higher floors to train on.  The thought of that excited him a little bit he had to admit.  Moving on to new floors for new adventures.  He wondered what would happen.  Even better was he had received a portable mailbox from the little trip, which allowed him to deliver items to whoever, whenever.  This way if customers wanted it, he could send the delivery to them via mail.  That is, only if they wanted to.  Personally he loved direct interaction but options made selling easier.  Everyone loves options.  He picked up his guitar and walked over to the fire pit.

He began to play a song but he was still a bit tired and thus he messed up the chorus.  He eventually stopped and put the guitar down, rubbed his eyes, and drank a bottle of water, refreshing him as well as waking him up a bit.  Afterwards he tried again and smiled as the music turned out ok.  It wasn't amazing but it was good enough.  The song should attract a single monster, which would suit low level players just fine he thought.

Itzal walked into the shop once more.  He had a feeling that he should bring a crystal with him.  Perhaps he could play it for one of his friends on occasion.  He grabbed his guitar and walked over to the fire.  He sat down and began to think about what song he should play.  A lyrical song?  There were a lot of those that people disliked.  Even if he chose a popular genre he needed to be careful to avoid unwanted songs.  So he decided to shoot for instrumental.  He thought about what songs he wanted to make and decided to shoot for Lindsey Stirling, a famous violinist on youtube.  But which song....  He thought for a while and as he did he thought about Ulises.  He smiled as he knew exactly which one he should shoot for.

Somehow he was able to duplicate the sound of a violin to some extent with his guitar.  It took a lot of tuning and experimenting but eventually he got it right.  When he did he began to play the song Shadows by Lindsey Stirling.  As he played the song it entered the crystal easily and clearly.  By the time the recording was finished he was surprised at his success.  He placed the crystal in his inventory and tried playing another song.  Unfortunately he forgot to re tune it and it was ruined.  He sighed and discarded the destroyed crystal.

Itzal walked back into his shop, eager to begin crafting.  He had recently reached rank 2 and now he had the bracelet he ordered from Teayre.  Aimi's bracelet.  It gave him encouragement and he couldn't help but think of Aimi.  The bracelet was of a green metal with purple jewels shaped like Verbana flowers.  He was very happy to see it, let alone wear it.  It matched his deep purple cloak perfectly too.  He walked over and grabbed his guitar, heading outside to the fire and sitting beside it, sighing as he pulled out his pick.

The first song he made was another good instrumental song.  He set the crystal aside, intending to place it on the shelf later.  He thought for a moment and decided to craft a healing song since he actually could now.  He thought about what song would work then thought about several that Aimi loved.  He smiled and began singing the first song, making sure that the guitar was properly tuned before hand and clearing his throat first.  It ended perfectly and was properly recorded into the crystal.  He pulled out another crystal and attempted the craft, but his throat was suddenly dry and the song was ruined.  He took a drink and discarded the crystal before attempting another song.  When he succeeded he felt he had one more in him before he decided to retire for the rest of the day.

Itzal walked back into his shop with a silver crystal that he had recently acquired.  He wanted to put a song for himself in this one but he didn't know what.  As he walked in he looked at his shelf and the two simple crystals that sat there.  There was a lot more room for more so he decided to make songs for the shelf today.  After all he didn't know what he wanted to make for himself and it was best not to rush.  He looked at the two crystals and thought to himself what other songs would be good to put up there.  He should probably place one or two lyrical songs up there too but which ones?  He thought for the longest time then had an idea for one.  He walked over to the counter and picked up his guitar, turning to head for the fire.  He sat down, tuned his guitar, and began to play and sing.

The guitar didn't tune out and Itzal's voice remained steady through the song and didn't crack.  As he sang the song he began enjoying it very much and felt that other players would too.  The Avett Brothers had written a great song after all.  As he finished the song perfectly he set his guitar aside and picked up the crystal, playing it again so he could inspect his work.  He smiled as it turned out perfect and pulled his guitar out as he thought about what to play next.  He nodded as he knew which to play but as he began playing the song he forgot the lyrics.  After discarding the song he tried again but then the guitar tuned out and he had to readjust it.  Finally he was able to get the song done right.  He wanted to try one more song but it didn't come out right and as he tried to remove the song he was successful.  Whew.  Itzal decided he was done for the day and fastened the two songs to the shelf.

Itzal walked into the shop once again, tired but satisfied with how the day had turned out.  Alisa, his apprentice, was getting better with her parkour training.  Itzal hoped that she would soon be able to take on the more advanced courses soon.  Currently she was practicing with a changeable obstacle course he had personally set up, low to the ground to prevent any fall damage.  When she was skilled enough he would help her get over her fear of heights and then work on helping her master the ability to parkour at higher and more potentially dangerous areas without falling.  For now he felt the need to play music.

He grabbed his guitar and walked over by the fire.  He thought about what he should make and then had an idea for several.  He began to play the first song and it turned out perfectly.  Smiling he set the crystal aside and pulled another out.  As he began to play however a bug landed on his nose, tickling it and causing him to sneeze.  And effectively ruining the song.  He discarded the crystal and tried again, succeeding perfectly and set it aside.  He played another song and it was a good one, not perfect but you can't expect perfection consistently.  After that he tried playing another song but the guitar bent out of tune again.  Sighing he picked up the successful crystals and moved to the shop inside.

Itzal walked into his shop once again.  Ulises had been quiet lately and that allowed his mind to lay resting and ponder a few things.  Alisa's training was going well, yes, but he felt she needed to be a little more independent.  Once she got her equipment he'd do one final lesson, have her go through the final test, and then she'd be free to do as she pleased.  He sighed as he realized that he was about to have to give her up.  She was probably going to go explore Aincrad and meet different people like most people when they've finally prepared.  He was going to miss her.  He decided to play a few songs to get his emotions straight.

He was a bit out of it so the first song failed, but the more he played the songs the better they seemed to become.  He made two good quality songs and then two songs with buffs added to them.  Satisfied with the work, and mentally relaxed, he stood to place the two good ones on the shelf as well as placing his buffed songs in the display case.  He sat in the sofa inside and began wondering what Ulises was up to.

Itzal walked into his shop once again, a little refreshed from his walk.  Sometimes he didn't know what songs to play into his crystals.  Today he decided to try experimenting with different tunes and melodies and try to just make some soothing or exciting instrumental music.  Ulises was becoming less and less vocal and he wondered if it had something to do with Mira, Mina's split personality, dying so suddenly.  It made sense he thought, but he wondered why he didn't talk to Itzal about it himself.  Perhaps Itzal would have to pay him a visit soon.  He had to do that when Velnia died after all.  But for now he needed a distraction and picked up the guitar, heading out to the fire outside.

As Itzal played music the first one turned out very well and he was able to make a buff out of it.  It was a simple, soothing and relaxing song and he didn't expect anything less.  After he finished the song he wondered if he could make a song that started softly, then soon turned into a rock like song.  It was a bad idea but luckily he was able to remove the song and save himself a material.  He tried something else but that song failed too and he wasn't able to remove it.  He decided to play an actual song this time and was successful with it.  He made up one last song and came out with a buff.  Satisfied he placed the appropriate items in their places.

Itzal was excited.  He was opening his shop soon.  Within two days it would be open, he was so excited!  Ulises was excited too though he seemed more tame than usual.  Itzal wondered what could be going on inside his head?  It didn't matter right now.  He'd have a little chat with him later.  For now he needed to practice with his guitar.  He pulled it out and walked out by the fireplace.

He decided to make some more songs for Beatbox, one as a gift and the others to sell.  After all he did need the col, whether or not Beatbox was his friend or no.  He succeeded in duplicating another one of Lindsey Stirling's songs as well as one of the Legend of Zelda symphonies and the Imperial March he decided to make a buff.  He wondered if he could make up a song for his friend but it was a total failure and he knew there was no way to recover it.  Furrowing his brow he trashed the song.  He sighed and thought for a moment before playing dragon's lair again.  Someone might like the song and ask for it.

Itzal had a few songs in him today that he wanted to get out of his system.  However he also wanted to try making a tier 2 item.  After all, while he didn't expect front liners to purchase from him he wanted to be ready in case they did.  What songs to sing though?  He figured the safest thing to do would be to make more instrumental songs than lyrical since there were many different tastes and he didn't know every song.  He was beginning to run out of things players might find interest in.  Soon he'd be stacking songs until he received requests.  Although he didn't want to he might have to.  He had plenty of instrumental songs of course, so he wouldn't run out of those.  He took his guitar and sat down beside the fire with a sigh.

Itzal's first song was a success and he had created a tier 2 healing crystal.  Satisfied that front liners might purchase it he set it in the display case.  Hopefully there would be one front liner who would notice his grand opening or shop and come visit.  After those he succeeded in making three songs.  He tried to make one more but when he finished and listened to it again it wasn't good enough to sell.  Luckily he was able to remove the song and saved a material.  He was starting to get low and he'd need to go material gathering soon.

Itzal walked into his shop after a nice walk.  He had to walk as he came from the first floor.  Until Alisa's training was complete he couldn't sleep in his own shop.  He and Alisa would camp in the woods until it was over.  And it almost was.  Three more lessons, and then the final exam.  The exam would consist of mastering parkour, search and detection skills, as well as completing calming the soul.  While most players didn't care for the quest or thought it ridiculous, Itzal saw it essential if you wished to master over your weaknesses.  And with her newfound anger she needed that.  He grabbed his guitar and sat down by the fire.

The day ended almost perfectly.  The first song he played was of great quality and he set it aside.  The next one was perfectly recorded and he smiled and started eagerly on the next song.  In his eagerness however he ruined it, though he was able to extract the song from the crystal.  He tried again more patiently and managed another perfect and one uncommon.  Satisfied he set the guitar aside and went to put the items in the glass case.

Itzal was still dazed by what had happened earlier.  Kasier and Ulises started fighting then suddenly after Ulises thrust his sword up her heart she pulled them in and kissed Itzal.  His emotions were still shocked and he honestly didn't know what was going on or how to react.  It was a major turn of events and Ulises took over for a bit to go train Alisa while Felix composed himself.  Now they had reversed, Ulises taking his time to recover and Itzal doing his own thing.  He picked up the guitar in hopes that he could leech these emotions out the easy way.

The first song was terrible.  The enormous blend of emotions was just too much for him to channel easily and thus the crystal was ruined.  He set the guitar aside for a moment and let out an exasperated sigh.  He waited a moment for his mind to clear and pulled his guitar out, playing whatever song came first to his mind.  Red is the Rose.  As he listened to his finished product he blushed and his hands went through his hair.  What was going on? he thought.  He tried another three songs but he ruined three and was able to delete one of them.  After he absolutely destroyed the final song he tossed his guitar into the soft grass and placed his head in his hands.  He thought for a moment and realized something.  Kasier loved him.  And he loved her.  Sick of playing around, sick of beating around the bush, sick of denying his own emotions to himself, he stood up and sent the song to Kasier via mailbox.  No message added, just the song.

Itzal walked into his shop once again.  He had recently taken the earning a living quest again but it yielded far less reward than he had intended.  He had only found five materials and the bonus materials came out one.  One measly material.  Indeed he was frustrated with how things had turned out.  And of course Ulises wasn't being a great help either, being silent as he usually was now.  Itzal was getting frustrated with him too now.  Why didn't he just tell Itzal what was wrong and work it out with him?  Itzal sighed as he took his guitar and sat down.

The first song was a failure.  He managed to create a second song and it was good quality.  He was beginning to wonder if anyone would want to buy any songs but seeing as how he had nothing better to do, placed it in the display case.  He then was able to craft a rare quality item and placed that in the display case as well.  When he tried making two more he failed both times but was able to erase one of the failures, saving him a material.  He sighed and placed the guitar back on it's rack before heading to his room.  He needed some rest to clear his head.
