[F11- Rank 9 Cook] Halcyon's Keep (Frontlines)

Recommended Posts

Ignorance was not bliss, so this seemed like a rather generous tip for how swift he handled the order. With a calm smile, he would address the hooded being with the typical businessman sort of greeting. "Thank you so much, sir. I greatly appreciate it." And with that, he would continue to work on his crafts with the rest of the items he had on him. There were still more items to be made after all. Throw some potatoes into an over with a bit of salt and then see what the roulette declares them to be. Cooking was too easy in this game, there was no way the real world could like this. Regardless, it was time for him to take his prize.

Ariel's order was plain and simple, something to keep the mitigation up. With that, he would begin using the heavy levels of beef stored to make something of that accord, making a burrito so stuffed that it would burst the moment it was bitten into. A smile lapsed on his lips as he rolled all of the beef up with the tortilla flat before then locking the triangles, then finish off the roll. A massive item for a good child to keep their muscles grow big and strong. He then would wrap it up with the flat layer of paper, then offering a PM for her to claim her item. It was an assist for the frontlines, so it was free of charge for her, and he cared little for profit today considering the circumstances.

And he was the one who had to mitigate the damage, so he wanted to remain alive, damn it. With that thought in mind, Sey would then make that same burrito for himself. He wanted to mitigate enough damage so that he could successfully keep himself alive. Having the Block skill would help him, but that was a lot of damage to sacrifice. Once his uses his Focused Howl on his enemies, he needed to contribute to the damage dealing. With that, he would wrap the same amount of beef into his own burrito. Give it a gentle tap and it suddenly appeared in front of him, just as likely to burst as the previous one, just the way he liked it.

Off to get himself more col. After a future deal that he planned to have soon, he needed to modify what sort of col levels he would be obtaining. And though he lacked the search and detect in exchange for tanking skills, he still had the ability of consume things to help modify his chances of success. With that in mind, he simply tapped on the potatoes and they could both end up being shaped as stars. Simply shove each pile into their own bags and he was good to go for the next quest he was about to embark on. It could not get much simpler than that.

And one more craft for the raid. Status effects. They were not the most desirable. So he needed to prep up some of those as well, so he would take the potatoes and not even put the effort to make the descriptions clever. It was a game, and since when did players read the small print on a game in the first place. Maybe there was one that blatantly stated "Stop, don't enter this game unless you want to be a slave to it for the next few years." Sarcasm aside, he looked up from the potatoes to see that they were thinly sliced slices of chips. All that was left to do was to place the chips into the bags and call it a day.

Nothing came from the few materials he had, in which he would merely shrug his arms for the moment. It looked like he was going to have to fetch more in order to make this venture a success, but he was settling for no less than perfect, meaning he had a sixth of a chance to do such a thing. It should have been expected that there wouldn't be such a painfully high number waiting for him at the end of the road. But now that he had that reality, he had to change it, right? Well, he could, but he's been planning on doing some quests, so any trash mobs from there may be the pity materials he would obtain. And so he would just close up for now with the intent to try again soon.

And though he made his attempts to cook yet again, nothing came out correctly. Ah, a lovely reason to motivate him indeed, the lack of results coming from the materials he dropped beads of sweat for. It was a lovely reward and he just loved his job so much as of currently. How was he going to be out grinding in the fields again if he couldn't get the buffs? Well, that was his attempt at getting them, all he could do was sit still and hope for the best next time. Cross those fingers and wish that the next few attempts did not perish. If they did, he was pretty much screwed with his search for the items he needed. Let's see how the next day fares.

Today was okay, but he was going to have to settle if he wanted to make the items that he did. It was going to be a weaker set of buffs for the future when he went out solo, or maybe Hestia would genuinely be content with it. Sey wanted to believe that he was better than this when it came to cooking, but luck wasn't really on his side as of recently. Did he do something to anger it? Regardless, he would make the three different cookies that would somewhat make the cut before sliding them over into the stock, the beginning of the development for his new build. Hopefully this will be worth it.

More meals to be made, more things to be done, what else was new? Well, if it was of any good news, he was able to make a few perfect things for the little grinding session in the future. That being said, what was he going to do now? He still needed a smaller buff on himself and none of these meals had the slots to fit them in. Looks like he was going to have to wait until tomorrow and hope for the best, but tonight, he was going to handle one half of the parties meals. Once he finished with all the bags of chips, he would seal them shut and slap them to the side. A part way there.

Now if he wanted his build to work, he was going to have to sacrifice evasion and accuracy in his gear. In turn, he was going to have to rely on those things through the consumables he eats. Even worse, he sacrificed his mitigation for a bit of damage. It was a smaller amount of mitigation, granted. Still, he was going to be a sitting duck on the frontlines if he risked his life without consumables in his pocket. Now to get to work on cooking, for the sake of living for the next frontlines. If push comes to shove, he'll just equip his best mitigation armor and outlast whatever was trying to kill him. With that in mind, he would eventually pop out things that weren't his usual expectations, but they will have to do.

Not a single stroke of good luck in this one, nope. In fact, quite the opposite. None of these items could be used for any of the future raids, leaving him with this bleeding mess. If he wanted a reason to whine, this was that exact reason. He tapped on the potatoes as many times as he could to no avail. In turn for doing so, he found himself finding things that were mediocre at best, a new situation that left him with little hope. How lovely. If there was a plus side to this, it was the fact that he didn't have to lose all of him materials on such an unlucky day.

Not a single perfect craft to come out today. Was there any reason to continue? After two days he was unable to get the lucky item and it seemed like he was running low on materials. Sey hated to get the materials ever since the patch came out, bringing him to this unfortunate conclusion. He wasn't necessarily excited about it since he needed stuff for himself in the upcoming event, but what was he going to do it the game wanted to see him burn? With that, he would close up the crafting menu and shrug. Maybe another day, but this kills motivation more than his already fading motivation was going through.

And with that, finally something came out of his work! A perfect! A perfect at LAST! It was enough for him to put into a random bag of chips and call it a craft. Now to get this item confirmed by the game and he was a free man. Now for the fellow who wanted the bag to have his reward. As for Sey, he made his own profit in turn. With a smile on his lips, he would send the item off towards the game and let that guide his path into crafting. Perhaps counting up the spare experience he had wouldn't be such a bad idea, he might have been at the highest rank for all he knew.

Itzal walked into Sey's store.  He took a silent gulp as he hadn't actually interacted with Sey one on one since...  Well since the fall of the Celestial Ascendants.  That was a really bad time...  He saw the sign stating he'd craft if he had materials and Itzal assumed that meant he wasn't exactly charging anyone, just offering to craft as much as he could with what materials he had.  Itzal however had a rather huge order.  Approaching the counter he put down his request.  Hood up, face shrouded in a black mist, and speaking with his American accent, Sey would never figure out who he really was.  "I require these items to be crafted.  If you can craft them all first, and then work on their duplicates afterwards that is appreciated.  If you require more materials, just leave a note outside and I'll send you additional materials."

"Seems like you found yourself on the luckier end of this. Only one item is missing." Sey replied, finished with the request. Turning over to all of the rare items, he would shrug. Seems like the lack of perfects weren't so bothersome. It was also free experience, so he'll take it. But with that, he would then slide over the items towards the hooded figure. They were lacking in terms of words, but that was just typical business. Even then, could he even call it that? Perhaps, but the profits came in form of materials rather than col, that of which he had plenty of and could grind in the mobs.
