[PP - F20] Findin' Dat Bawws Ruum wid Da Boiz <<Scouting the 20th Floor>>

Recommended Posts

Beatbox sighed as Itzal didn't really give the proper location of the labyrinth, he pinched the top area above his nose and turned to Macradon and whispered in his ear "It was said that this floor is a giant forest area, meaning the only area that isn't covered with trees is the main settlement, its said that the labyrinth is at the far edge of the floor, looks like we'll have to go exploring and fighting on the way there." he leaned away from Macradon and looked forward to Itzal honestly trying to take over the mission to find the boss room just because he was a scout, he shook his head with a sigh and kept moving towards the area in question. After a bit of exploration they had eventually found themselves to the mobs of the floor, which appeared to be giant praying mantis'. Beatbox had unsheathed his sword and tried to strike them, but they had moved swiftly out of the way of his attacks, and tried to retaliate back, however they had also had failed.

"If we're going to search for the labyrinth, we may as well search around the actual main tower."

The hunter said while pointing out to the one thing that was more prevalent than the towering landscape, the iconic cylindrical tower that connected each floor to the next.  It contained the actual labyrinth and stairwell that would lead up to the twenty first floor.  Every floor before them had this feature that kept them on the right track.  It was a goal for each floor to get to, unlock, and raid it for the next goal.  It was a repetitious venture, but it was their only way out.  It was their only way.

Of course, someone would get them back on the right track.  Thankfully, they were finally out and about, but that brought around the mobs that instantly took a liking to them.  These things were large insects of some sort, but those serrated razor blades for arms didn't look that friendly.

"Beat!"

The hunter burst through the group.  He wasn't equipped for full combat that day, but more as a scout.  His armor wasn't even working as it should, and was just for show.  The real effects came from the two bracelets that adorned his right and left arms.  Though, that didn't diminish his combat efficiency.  A large AOE attack rang out from his blade to keep the insects at bay.

"Morgenstern!  Commander!  Could use some howling action about now!"

The expedition was underway and the group ventured onward to locate the boss room. Upon following Beatbox through the forest, a group of Mantis Soldiers jumped out and tried to attack. Hirru used an AOE to give the group some more time to act. He then looked back to the rest of the group and asked for one of the tanks to attract the mob away. Heathcliff then took his Liberator and Activated Howl in order get the mob to focus himself. On It! The Commander exclaimed! He then jumped into action and got the attention of the mob.

Jonathan turned as he heard one of the KoB members yell that they needed a tank. He snapped out of his trance and stepped forward. He seemed a bit late though as  the commander seemed to jump forward, quickly howling. 'Wait a second. What the heck am I supposed to do now? The commander took the only thing I am good at. I might as well still howl. I think he had focused howl so It would be a bit hard.' Raising his shield he stepped forward, taking the creatures on the other side. He did not want to be in in Heathcliff's shadow, especially since he was the best tank, standing beside Calrex. Jonathan smiled and rose his shield. He was not going to let Heathcliff do his entire job, especially since he knew the man did a great deal of damage.

Hikoru watched as everyone entered the Labyrinth on their own, and he followed close behind. Soon the Tanks took their spot and howled, and the DPS struck. He joined into the frey quickly, sprinting through the group and coming out to hit one of the Preying Mantis. He struck and sliced again and again until his Sword Art had finished, then he backed away. He knew he was in no danger, as he had no hate on him because of his Unique Skill, and the tanks were going their job. He looked back at the rest of the group and given them nods

"Alright Mac, hit 'em hard." He said with a small smile and sighed. This was already going smoothly. He just hoped that his energy level would be able to stay high enough for him to keep fighting. He would have to eye it carefully and make sure he could last out enough to make it through a few fights before they found the boss room

A sigh of relief as a Beatbox came with a proper explanation. But Macradon would still not know what kind of monsters they would be fighting against, so he would have his Tracking HUD stowed away for now, as there could be any kind of creatures out in the wilds. Macradon would follow on as they ventured out. It didn’t take long before the party would be encountered by a wandering pack of monsters. 4 gigantic praying mantises were the monsters they were going to slay, as they were in their paths. The first handful of people would begin to attack, Beatbox starting out with an equal trade while Hirru would get a hit through. The Commander having a howl up so he could be the one having as much Hate as possible. Morgenstern would do the same, gaining hate to distract the monsters from the rest of the party. Hikoru would jump in and do 13 quick slashes at one of the mantises. While this was unfolding, Macradon was already beginning to flank the mantises so he could get a clean AOE hit at them. As Hikoru jumped out of the vicinity, Macradon would commence his attack “Aye!” he roared as he charged right into the group. His pommel striking onto one of the mantises body. The heavy slam would follow through in the form of a heavy shock wave, hitting the rest of the mantis party. The crippling strike would leave them stunned for a short amount of time @Itzal, go!” he said.

Not knowing that the others saw his information not only as insufficient, but also as inaccurate, Itzal continued to scan the area as he normally did.  Then his detection mod spotted something nearby but before he could say anything Beatbox was the first to speak and act.  He watched the others do their jobs and he knew that he'd only deal a low amount of damage.  He really needed to work on it, but lately he had been focusing on complete and total mastery of the scouting build.  Soon enough however he'd be able to focus on damage for a bit, then max out his scouting skills.  In the meantime he'd just make do with what he had.  He charged the four Mantis figures, Velnia beside him, and unleashed the strongest AoE skill he had.  After striking with Shadow Explosion, he noted that they had no mitigation, so he didn't deal minimal damage.  Still, his seventy two points of damage was pathetic compared to the others.  Except he wasn't comparing.  He was a scout, not a dps and there was no shame in that.  He was proud of his build, and even though it was challenging that's one of the reasons he loves it so:  If something isn't challenging it isn't fun.  And might as well have fun along the way was what he believed.

Beatbox had stood back to see that we had been sort of cooperating as a single attack squad instead of two groups, which Beatbox was extremely happy to see between the Celestial Ascendants and the Knights of the Blood Oath. He had smiled then thought to himself in his head "We're finally getting together to attack all as one with out own powers... even if its small chit-chat in between one attacking to the next." however his smile dimmed as it was now time for him to strike. Beatbox's sword had glowed and eerie blue as he lunged forward striking them with Shadow Explosion one of the best Sword Art area of effects that were in his disposal. Hitting all four of them with a great amount of power as they all had tried to recover from the paralysis that they had been suffering. Beatbox lunged back and said out to Hirru "Hirru! Switch out!"

There was no more confusion or hesitation within the group, only a singular objective: to destroy the mobs in front of them.  Through the power of every attacking member, they had already put the insects' health into the yellow, or half way to death.  Everyone working in tandem to continue the search for this floor's labyrinth.  It made the hunter have a funny feeling within his heart.  It felt like the efforts of everyone was finally getting somewhere, but it also gave a sense of longing, as if something was still off.  Not about the group, but from him.

The hunter shook the feeling away when Beatbox called out to him.

"I'm all in!"

As Itzal and Beatbox had done before him, he followed the dark blue path that the two blades made while leaving one of his own.  The Tri-Shadow Explosion blazed across the surface of each of the insects, leaving large gashes in their exoskeletons.

"Commander!"

@Morgenstern  (Commander @Heathcliff hasn't posted for a while.)

<<Howl>> +3 Hate

Jonathan watched as the battle unfolded around him. Everyone dealt quite a significant amount of damage, laying waste to the PrayMantis mobs that lie in front of them. Jonathan hesitated as it was Heathcliff's turn. He did not appear to be doing anything too special so he did the one thing he could do right. Howl. He stepped forward and raised his shield. It appeared the commander had more tanking skills than he so he would have to fight for the hate. Jonathan had to start working hard to get up them skills. His stance became water and he began to build up his energy. With that he let a loud  <<Howl>> He seemed to get enough attention to be equal with the commander, but not enough to steal the trst of the hate. He shouted over his shoulder. "Hey Hikoru! I believe your up man!" Jonathan raised his shield. He had not taken a hit yet, but he wanted to know what he was up against for the boss. He needed to be ready.

Hikoru nodded as Morgenstern told him to go, and charged forward and attacked the weakest of the four Praying Mantis's, knowing that he could kill it. He swiped and sliced the creature to shreds, and as he finished he backflipped, landing back with his group. He sighed as he didn't finish it off, and saw that it only had a sliver of health left. He groaned in defeat and looked at Macradon, giving a weak chuckle and a sigh

"Guess I couldn't finish it off." He said, defeatedly "Go ahead and finish it, and try to get rid of the others too. We don't need them here." He said with a small laugh. He looked at the weak Praying Mantis and wished he could attack and put it out of it's misery, but sadly, he knew that he couldn't as the game mechanics wouldn't allow him to since he was within a party. He just flipped his dagger in his fingers and gave a small sigh as he waited for his turn to come once more

Slowly, they all would get to finish off one of the mantises. Only a few small sweeps before the rest were gone. “Darn I wish we had an axe wielder to sweep all these monsters …” he thought, hoping that Mack would return soon. Macradon would remember the days when he was one of, if not the best, AOE sweeper in the game. It all changed when the hotfix for sword arts would roll out through the game, making Axe wielders more AOE oriented and Two Handed Sword a bit of everything. He didn’t mind at all, two handed swords were just of his preference, so he would never be able to trade out the two handed sword for any other kind of weapon. Back to the present, Macradon was facing off against the last 3 mantises after he had just slain one, leaving the three left to be destroyed by the others in his party, which would be a breeze as they didn’t have that much HP left.

Everyone had been working hard to clear this wave of monsters. Heathcliff's mind finally returned to the fight as it ventured off with a different matter that had been bothering him internally. The gray haired man looked around at the group. My apologizes everyone. I have just been bothered by a previous issue. He said as he readied his sword and shield to use an attack. The Commander attempted to use Howl and the group of Mantis but they ignored the attack and started looking for their next target. Heathcliff tried to think of what to do next. He looked at his equipment and sighed. He then looked back at Itzal who appeared to be ready to finish the Mantis off. Well Itzal, I tried. Looks like this is up to you. The Commander said as he made the transition to go on the defensive. He got ready to defend incase the mantis targeted him or anyone else, hoping he could jump in front of the attack if needed.

It seemed that the four mantis were nearly dead.  In fact, one of them already fell.  He watched as the leader of the KoB attempted to draw their attention, however his attempt failed.  They ignored him and were insisting on killing the ones dealing the actual damage to them.  He was already preparing a charge when the commander yielded to Itzal.  Itzal nodded to the commander, this time a smile on his face...  But not from the fact that he was allowing Itzal to attack.  "Got it."  He rushed forward, Velnia flying in beside him, and he released Shadow Explosion, Velnia clawing at them along with him.  He may not have much damage due to his being a scout, but he certainly had enough to finish off these Mantis.  After releasing the sword art the last three collapsed.  Itzal checked for a loot menu but seeing as how he didn't requip to his loot gear he didn't see anything...  Or maybe he got one of the low percentage rolls so perhaps even with the loot gear he'd get nothing.  Either way the fact was that they could move on.

"Nice one, Itzal!  Now let's see what's around!"

The hunter said while placing a rolled up leaflet with crushed Lucky Heart pieces, into his mouth.  It has been the best way that he could use any food item without having to take a minute to eat a full food item.  Without any chewing, the luck buff would appear to the right of his health bar, and above his head for everyone else to see.  With the additional luck added with the Favor of the Golden Dragon, the hunter's search skill would be enhanced by that much more.  His sight extended out farther than most other players, but even with the extension, he could see nothing new.  Plenty of mobs, but nothing else.  This was disconcerting, as there shouldn't be anything that he couldn't see, but that was without the Reveal skill.

"Hmm.. Itzal!  You have anything?  I can't see much through this landscape."

He would ask out loud before trying to see anything with Reveal, but that would only show more mobs than anything else.  Maybe a sub-dungeon, but that's not what they wanted.

OOC- Checked with Beat, no post order till we fight the boss

Itzal watched as Hirru went ahead and started searching for the labyrinth.  Itzal was already wearing his Twilight Cloak so he could go ahead and join the search.  He heard Hirru mention that he didn't spot anything and asked Itzal if he could.  Itzal activated reveal, looking through the trees for anything out of the ordinary, or extremely obvious.  He also looked for any small details that might provide a hint or clue as to where this labyrinth entrance was.  As he looked however, he couldn't spot anything.  He shook his head to the hunter.  "Nothing yet.  I think I'm going to get a vantage point."  With that Itzal rushed to one of the trees and jumped at it, pushing off of the tree and grabbing one of the sturdy, lower branches of another.  With that he speedily climbed a little until he was certain he'd be able to see a far greater radius.  Velnia flew up beside him and he grinned at her.  "Quite the view ain't it?"

Hikoru gave a small sigh as he sheathed his dagger. The fighting had gone quite easily, and he was proud of what the group was capable of doing. He opened his HUD and equipped his ring, something that he had not used in a long time, because he hadn't needed to. But he needed to use it now, to see if he could get lucky enough to get try and find the Labyrinth, even though he knew that the two scouts were on it, he wanted to give his own shot. He breathed and unqeuipped his Pendant and put on the ring, giving him a sense of courage to find the room

"Alright, lets give this a shot..." he said as he breathed and continued forward, climbing a tree as Itzal had and moving forward, hoping to see something, and although his eyes could see over the land well, he saw no hint of any entrance nearby. He sighed and got down to move forward and continue to look elsewhere in the immediate area, hoping that he could get lucky enough to find it

When Itzal looked down he could see that Hikoru was looking for the dungeon as well.  He lifted his eyes back up to scan the area for the dungeon.  He looked towards the north sector first, checking to see if there was any sign for it.  After he saw nothing through the trees he activated reveal, taking his time to scan through the trees for any clues of it's whereabouts.  He looked closely as well as distantly, using every tactic he could.  Finally he activated detect.  Once he did he discerned that there was no entrance north.  He'd need to look south next.  However before he could Velnia seemed to have become excited all of a sudden.  "Hey whoa!  Girl slow down, what's up?"  Then she accidentally hit him with her tail, causing him to lose his balance.  However he was able to grab onto a branch on the way down and pulled himself back up, showing a frustrated face to his familiar, who gave an embarrassed grin and flew back down to him.

The hunter shrugged as the others couldn't find anything.  Even if they tried to climb trees, they would not find anything useful.  It was weird that Itzal was not seeing anything though, as there seemed to be a strong distinction from the two as scouts.   It wasn't until the hunter activated his Reveal, did the hunter start to see something big.  A little too big for anything that should be in this area.

"Everyone stop!"

It was the loudest that the hunter had every shouted something out, but it was in due course.  If any of them that, wasn't Hikoru, went out any farther, the aggro of that something would have been active.  They didn't know much about this floor, but it was certain that they were encountering new things on this floor.  Stronger enemies meant more powerful bosses.

"Is.. that a field boss?"

He had heard from some of his informants that things were starting to change for the 20th floor and on, and he could see why.  What lay before them was a large ruin of the same make and terrain of the main city.  Most of it was decrepit, but a few spots could be shone to have bright luster, as if it were made of gold.  Near the top, an alter could be seen with a humanoid figure moving around it.  If they moved into the area that the ruins took up, they may incur the wrath of the figure.

"I'm not liking what I'm seeing."

The hunter said to himself before turning to everyone else.

"I don't think we should fight this thing, just yet.  I think we should make camp here with someone on watch at all times.  In the meantime, anyone can go back to town and buy potions, and/or call for reinforcements.  Unless, we want to fight it as we are, but I don't think this creature will be like anything else we've fought.  Also, I don't think that we have any safeguards or enhancements beside my own."

The hunter said as he held out three fingers.

"I have three rare damage potions and three rare mitigation potions for our tier.  If you think that's fine, then we can proceed, but we should rest now before we take action."

Jonathan watched as the few people with scouting skills bean to search around the place looking for the labyrinth. The blond sighed and snapped around when he heard Hirru yell at them to stop. A ruin lay in the direction he was searching and beyond that, near the top, was an alter. A few places around the ruin you could see bright flashes, as if it were made of gold. The blond stepped forward to get a better view. Now he could see it. At the top was a large humanoid figure, appearing to carry a large weapon. Just being near it felt a little dangerous. The area was still, as if the rest of the floor preferred to stay away from it out of fear. The hunter beside him suggested waiting a bit to stock up and get ready. The blond nodded his head. "I don't like the look of that boss. It gives the same impression as floor boss. I say we bring in some reinforcements, perhaps some more DPS and Healers." Jonathan stopped and turned around looking away from the boss. "You guys can attack now, but I will not join now. We need to take some time to gather some items, and possibly more people." He laughed and looked to Beatbox. He knew the man would not like the idea of waiting, but they did not want to lose anybody to a quick and stupid decision.
