(PP-F6) Cupid's Arrow (Sey, Itzal)

Recommended Posts

If you could stop making me keep track of your guy's energy, that would be really great. @Itzal

Jonathan would watch as Itzal and Sey followed up his attack, dealing quite a bit of damage to the God. They had already eliminated almost half of its health. Jonathan smiled, happy with their outcomes. The only one that did not seem high off the tide of battle was Eros himself, who actually seemed pretty angry. The God was rusty. Something told Jonathan that he had not fought in the last thousand years. No wonder why he had yet to be bested. The God began to be surrounded by an angry red glow that actually angered Jonathan just looking at it. It appeared to have some effect on his mind. He held his blade tightly a charged in forward, preparing to finish off Eros.

He reached Eros who's face turned from one of anger, to one of a smug look. He leapt into the air, shooting upward like an Angela's arrow. He spun in the air spiralling rapidly before stopping abruptly and firing a single arrow, moving far to fast for their eyes to process. It struck him in the chest, knocking him backwards. A wave of irritability and bitterness came over him. He snarled angrily and snapped at his two comrades. "Don't just stand there and gap like dolts! Kill him!" He let out a shout of rage, angry at Cupid.

OOC- I'm sorry @Morgenstern, I'll keep up with it from now on

Itzal watched as Sey struck at the boss again and brought it's health down even lower.  The boss was nearly at half health and so Itzal knew that this was indeed going to be easy.  He was about to agree with Sey aloud when suddenly, the god of conflict was surrounded with a red aura that triggered anger.  That much was clear when he saw his friend's reaction.  Valarie however, held tightly not out of anger, but out of nervousness.
"Why is he acting like that?"  Itzal could practically hear Ulises speaking into his mind.  Time to change tactics.  "Because Cupid is messing with his mind."  Itzal had to release the anger, but he would not do so by yelling at his comrades.  Instead he shot forward, releasing Nova Ascension on Cupid as well as Soul Barrage, not retreating for Sey but slashing over and over and over and over again, switching from one hand to the other in a nonstop, consistent barrage of strikes, his eyes showing no mercy.

OOC: Nu

Well someone had quite the attitude. Sey probably would be pissed too if his tanking part of the build forced him to take some damage that hopped over the walls. Well, he'll attack when he can, though the enemy did not leave many things available for him to use. The snow haired player would lunge out towards the boss monster, attacking the core with slashes to the side in a successful left right left fashion. It was nothing special of an attack after using it a few times in a row, but it still did enough damage, so the fashion part of it would have to be dropped. Besides, he could add more to the variety when the time came. For now, he was going to have to focus on getting his weaponry to the highest par later when he build was complete. It was going to take some time, but he was going to get it eventually as he gained more ground.

Jonathan watched as Itzal and Sey charged forward, both of them charging forward and slashing through the form of Cupid. The gods face shown no worry, but instead anger and hate. Sey stepped back and Jonathan stormed forward, eyes filled with fury. Hero's presence was angering enough, but something was with that arrow. It had brought him anger and resentment, along with a wave of depression and loneliness. He stepped forward, his sword seeming to be hungry for attack. He charged forward, bringing his blade down on a clean arc. His blade cut through the God's chest, and Eros fell back with a wail. His health was becoming dangerously low, and the three players would overwhelm him in the next round at least. Eros stood, bow raised, his golden armor giving off an angry light. Jonathan stood at the ready, preparing for his friends to come and continue the assault. Jonathan was becoming more and more aware of the only dark arrow in Cupid's quiver. What kind of arrow was that? It would probably deal a lot of damage. Eros stood sneering at the players. He was hardly fighting, but Jonathan guessed he was more of a stealthy killer, and not much of a fighter in general.

Itzal watched as the cupid switch from worry to anger, hatred, and wrath, but what worried Itzal was that Jonathan was reflecting that hatred.  Once this battle was over he would need to have a chat with Jonathan, hopefully see what's going on and what he could do to help him.  Hopefully Sey could help him out as well.  He knew what provoked anger by the game's systems looked like...  While Jonathan had it, he could tell that some of that anger.  Was real.  For now he needed to focus on keeping the anger the Cupid's aura was leaking out didn't latch onto him and simply phase right through him.  Or rather going in a u-turn and right back at Cupid in the form of Soul Barrage, choosing to release Nova Ascension in between his long, consistent and very fierce barrage of seemingly endless series of strikes and combos.  Velnia and he had been training and she was now able to join him in soul barrage, essentially doing the same thing with her attributes such as claws, teeth, tail, wings and lightning breath.

Sey would try to put an end to this, considering the low amount of health that the enemy in front of them had, he would end up charging again. While he felt good about the shot, he would end up missing his attack as the slippery cupid was able to evade. Thanks to this, he was at a loss for energy and forced to jump back. Maybe the other two can finish it off, and hopefully before it begins to carry out the AoE. Placing his hands in his pockets, he would then step backwards from the angel to make sure that he did not provoke it too much. After all, if he gained too much hate from it, he was going to have a problem far worse than just having a scar on his body. It was deemed lucky, but considering how far he is in life, it would be very unfortunate.

FYI, if you kill Eros on either of your turns, don't post it bursting into shards. Its health will go to 0 but don't post it dying yet!

Itzal and Sey darted around the battlefield, handing out blows almost in melody. The blond tank was trying to keep his newfound anger under control, but the nerve gear just have been stimulating it. He had no idea why he was angry, only that he was. His group had done well so far, bringing its health down rather low and soon they would have it finished. The blond prepared his weapon and glared angrily at the minor god. Eros, Cupid, it didn't matter. Jonathan was going to slay it. He charged in forward, his shield being put in front of him to guard him from any attack. Eros turned on him, a wicked glean in his eyes and began to ready his bow. The god notched an arrow in his bow and let it loose, an arrow that lodged itself in his guarded ribcage. His anger spiked again, rage seething. His vision became blurry and he lost sight of his target, he began to slash rapidly and crazily, but it was a fail. Cupid laughed, obviously uncaring, but a little ticked about his health position.

Itzal watched as cupid was reaching his limit.  Still, he had to have a trick or two up his sleeve.  Being part god of war he wouldn't give up victory without playing dirty.  Jonathan's wrath condition seemed to be getting worse.  Itzal couldn't wait for the game to realize that it had to stop messing with people's emotions.  He watched as his friend flailed dangerously, but pointless and leaped over his comrade, striking with precision and ferocity at the boss in order to keep him from striking again while forcing him to back off, and once he landed he immediately shot forward, releasing Nova Ascension, landing the strike on the god and dealing ninety more damage.  Sey would be up next.  He hoped that this would be enough.  He was hoping Sey could finish it off so they could earn the experience and head home, do this again next time.

They were nearing the end of the dungeon. His spear let out a blue glow, his right arm slicing to the right to let out a gust of wind to declare his attack. Then he pressed forward with his spear behind his back towards the angel before slashing to the side, the knockback locking the angel into his combo. The consistent slashing of the spear would cut through the virtual body of the boss monster, it’s health slowly taking a beating from the massive amount of basic hits locked into a sword art. Eventually, the tank ran empty and forced the monster to submission. Hm, Cupid’s grip must have been broken for now at the very least thanks to that. The benefits weighed far heavier on one player more than the others, but at the end of the battle, they all ended up with something from this battle.

Eros fell backward as the last few hits were made. His health was dropping quickly, and rage began to seethe inside of him. These plaers had bested him, and all of his fun and curses would be lifted. Except one curse, one that had to fade with time, or by other means. He had never inflicted it upon someone, due to its harshness and cruelty.  He had also never been so angry in his life. He brought the only black tipped arrow  and notched it into his bow. It was a lead arrow, and it completely turned the heart to lead. He took aim and shouted, "You will regreat this. You will never be able to love again for what you did to me" He took aim at the person who dealt the last hit, Sey. The arrow sliced through the air, the alligning perfectly aimed at Sey's heart. The arrow was too fast to be able to dodge. Then, with a blur of movement, Eros saw someone intercept the arrow. It was a girl. He shouted angrily, but the sound was driven out as he shattered into a million pieces.

Jonathan stood there, facing Cupid when Itzal leapt over him, letting loose a barrage of attacks, that  was quickly led up by Sey. They had done it! Eros began shouting at them, telling them they would never love again. Jonathan sheathed his sword and shrugged and began to turn before he seen the movement in the corner of his eye. Something was now rocketing at Sey, the black arrow he had seen earlier while fighting. It was firing straight at Sey. Something brushed against his shoulder. Valarie. She dove in front of the arrow and it thudded into her chest, and the small girl flew back from the force. Jonathan raced over to the girl who appeared to be fine, not sustaining any damage. Then, her face began to pale, her eyes darkening and losing all light in them. Her smile became a frown and she began to seem to have the happiness sucked out of her. "What is happening?" he began. He pulled the arrow out of her chest, but the process didn't stop.

Itzal watched as the boss' health hit zero.  It's last words of course, he didn't believe for a second.  The game system wouldn't be allowed to do any damage to someone's emotions like that.  Actually there was no way it could.  Of course when he was pushed into the ground he looked up to see Valarie taking the arrow for them.  He slid himself forward and caught her, keeping her from hitting the stone.  Her health went low but didn't hit zero because of this.  He let her slide onto the ground and scanned the area for a material that was used in alchemy.  He spotted a plant bearing Embereyes and rushed over, grabbing them and bringing them over to her, crushing the seeds in the process.  He looked up to the others.  "I don't like the fact that the cardinal system is allowed to mess with emotions.  I'm hoping they clear that up sooner rather than later.  Until then, I'd like to counter it's effects as best as I can."  He pulled out a bottle of water and put the crushed seeds inside it, the water turning red.  He fed her the water and waited for her to regenerate her health.

The entire time she was convulsing as she had been stabbed with an arrow.  By the time Itzal had finished the arrow vanished and she could speak.  She looked up at the three and smiled weakly.
"I...  Bet you, didn't see...  That..  Coming....."  She looked at Sey for a moment, then turned to look at Itzal.  "Am I...  Dying?...."  He shook his head.  "No, your health points will recover soon enough.  I simply kept the effects of the arrow from settling in is all."  She smiled before closing her eyes, too tired to carry on.

Hm!? Somehow, the angel didn't shatter into pieces like it should have. Furthermore, it ended up sending an arrow towards his specifically. Reflexes high, but evasion not so much, he would clench his grip on the spear before trying to raise it, only for the sound of flesh to emit instead. Eyes closed, he wondered for the moment if it was him who took the hit. But his health did not go down any, and so he would open up his eyes to see that it was that one weird girl... Well... That perhaps wasn't any better of a target. At least Sey could take it, but that girl... Well... "Well then, looks like you got me there." Sey replied to her forced out comment. However, his energy was low, it was going to take a good bagful of blood for him to try to heal anything, especially with the lack of enhancements as well. He would look through his inventory to see if there was an alchemist item to tend to effects. Unfortunately, there was none. Desensitized as he was, he would point his spear towards Eros. "And what about this clown over here, what are we to do with him?"

-Eros is already very much dead. He pulled a Kirito and stayed alive more than he should have;)-

Jonathan watched as Itzal hurried to, grabbing some strange plants. The blond cocked his head. "What did you just do?" Sey came over along with the rest of them. The grl had taken quite the hit, but Itzal's remedy seemed to have stopped the paling of her skin and the darkening of her eyes. Hopefully, the girl made a full recovery. If it was Itzal who had gotten hit, who knows what would have happened. As Sey spoke again, Jon turned, looking to where he pointed, but nothing lied there. "With what now? Little jittery there Sey? I say we all should get Valarie out of here and get her back to-" The entire area began to shake, the wals crumbling  and shattering into pixels. The once beautiful room crumbled and left them sitting in a clearing in the forest. "It truly is jsut an illusion, nothing more. With him gone, most of his lesser effects should fade immediately. His larger games should fade within time I am guessing. Not sure if that has to do with your town problem, but it might help you"Jonathan was glad they made it out alive, even if they did have a character that was unconsious and her body fighting some kind of plague or curse Cupid shot at her. Lead arrows, where had he heard of that before....

Itzal nodded to Jonathan and to Sey.  He picked her up and held her over his shoulder.  He was very grateful his strength stat was high.  "I hope so too Jonathan.  Come on, let's head back to town.  We can drop her off to whatever home she lives in."  He turned to Jonathan as they walked.  "Jonathan, is there...  Something that's bothering you?  I know rage when I see it...  Not all of that was cupid back there."  Itzal had spent all of his time in Aincrad to become the best scout the game would allow.  He wasn't about to miss something like that.  If he didn't know his friend it probably would have slipped by him, but he knew his friend enough to know when he was angry.  Whether or not he would tell Itzal was another matter however.  He seemed to becoming more and more, withdrawn.  Why couldn't people realize that they should talk with someone about what was going on, about what was wrong?  If you were quiet the whole time, then the problem would never fix.  Just fester and grow.

Stay independent and survive. If he needed to heal someone, he would. But in this case, he was walking in territory that did not belong to him, and no request to jump in was made either. The other two, well, they have their issues alongside the other girl with them. As for him, he needed to keep himself alive. After all, they were going to face off against the 21st floor boss soon anyways, and that was going to take a massive amount health out of him if he was not prepared. His agent still needed to make his items so that he would be given a fighting chance as well. "Well, I guess so." Sey replied to Jonathan, shrugging his shoulders. He believed in what he saw, and now he saw nothing anyways. No shame, as that would just hinder him, and a shackle was the last thing the Yukino bloodline wanted. They were getting out of here and claiming their rewards, that was his own goal anyways.

Jonathan began to walk back through the woods, Itzal carrying Valarie, Sey taking up the back and keeping silent mostly to himself. He turned to the man, "If you wish it, you may leave now. It was a pleasure fighting by your side, and someday, I hope we can have another adventure like today. IT brought me much experience, game and mind wise" He nodded to the Snow-haired player and turned back to ITzal who mentioned that they should get Valarie back to her house. He nodded, but the man spoke again, this time about him. Itzal asked him if he was doing alright, and he knew all that anger was not generated from Cupid. "I don't know, something was jacked up about them arrows, messed with my emotions. But, I guess you were right, I guess I was just a bit angry that I wasn't contributing anything. My damage output was weak, and you guys were dealing all of it. I chose the wrong Tank build. There are so many of them out there, and I chose the wrong one at the start. I mean, yeah I will have some pretty good enhancements at the end, but I could have built it a little better" He sighed and kept mving forward, they were close to the town again.

Itzal listened as Jonathan told Sey he didn't need to follow them if he didn't want to.  Sey did seem tired and, strangely quiet.  "Yeah.  Maybe a quest, or dungeon perhaps?  You and I still need to finish the dragon anthology quest," he said with a chuckle.  Then Jonathan started to explain what had happened.  Itzal knew about the arrows and then commented on them.  "Yeah, this game has to stop messing with emotions like that.  Forcing a player to feel a certain emotion is wrong on many levels."  Then Jonathan told him what was really bothering him and Itzal mentally sighed.  This again?  He thought they had cleared this up.  "I chose to spend my skill points on a skill I'll never use man.  Can't get worse than that.  And hey, if you'd like to maximize or gain skills or mods, let me know.  We can keep grinding till you get the build you really want.  Don't beat yourself up about the past man.  We learn from the past to change the future."  Itzal looked at him encouragingly.

Jonathan turned to Itzal as they walked forward. He musta had been pretty strong to be carrying her around all this day. Jonathan carried on Heavy armor, giving him a reason to have a high strength and weight tolerance, but Itzal wore light armor meaning he had to be doing some kind of training or excersize that allowed him to do such things. He had always been rather good with words, and his words cheered him up, if only a bit. "Yeah we do need to finish those quests. They are quick and easy, but they give good experience, and I hear there is some sort of challenge at the end. I want to see that! Now, let's get out of here. I do not plan on staying here forever. After we drop her off, we can take some rest from today. WE don't want to over exert ourselves with too much training" Jonathan was beginnning to grind again now, finishing the quick quests and pulling in players he hand't seen for a while, or even players he had yet to meet.

Itzal saw the town coming in view while Jonathan talked.  He nodded himself and grinned on the last bit.  "Don't worry, Kasier will ensure that I don't over exert myself.  We can get to that quest after we're done with this one."  In truth, Itzal was hoping they could clear the quests out quickly.  He had a strange feeling that something would go wrong if they didn't clear them out fast enough.  Of course at the same time, he didn't like to rush things.  It was a tear in his mind, between his fear and hatred of Fearx, and his will to take things slowly and calculate.  They soon reached the town and as Itzal carried her to her house multiple of the female civilians either gasped at seeing her state, or were talking about 'how strong Itzal was' to which he ignored.  He walked into the girl's home and let her down on her bed, pulling the covers over and turning to Jonathan.  "Well then.  Looks like this dungeon is all wrapped up.  Shall we head out then?"

They soon found the town, and Itzal mentioned that Kasier wouldn't let him overexert himself. Jonathan nodded and they stepped forward, finding the girl's house. Her face was no longer as pal, and the strange virus that Cupid had put in her had seemed to start to work its way out of her system thanks to Itzal's remedies. The girl's were no longer swarming them, but a few mentioned how strong Itzal was. "Well, at least they aren't swarming you now right? Perhaps this was one of his bigger curses that would take a while to erase completely, and it just needs some time" The went into the girl's room and Jonathan watched as Itzal covered her up, wrapping her completely in blankets. They had survived a rather large dungeon, and managed to take out quite a few mobs, and a prankster god that had some anger issues to work out. He wondered if the god would be reincarnated or would another challenge appear. He had no idea of the depth of sidequests in this game.
