Macradon 0 Posted March 20, 2017 #61 Report Share Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) The fight had just commenced, and terror was already spreading through the fields. “What in the …” Macradon thought as he looked around, unable to really get what was going on. 3rd in command of the Knights of the Blood, Vanguard Commander, Combatant, Frontliner, yet he still never had the chill to actually grasp the situation when people were dying. Looking in despair as one of the first party’s member had already been killed by the boss “Damn it!” he muttered angrily under the loud noise of the battle. Macradon would go out of Asterios’ range and go for Nato as Mack commanded "Got it!" he would call out back to Mack as he would go after the boss. Bringing down the Scarecrow’s Sickle, Macradon would prepare a flurry of blows aimed at the bull monster present. Without all the AOE attacks he used to have, Macradon would have to stun down Nato for the party to make sure no one else would die. One was already down, no one else was permitted to be murdered today. Crushing down upon the great bull colonel, Macradon would sweep with his two handed sickle sword, cleaving through the virtual flesh of the beast, not killing it, taking away the last hit bonus from anyone who could've gotten it. The sword would slice through the air 6 times, cleaving through ankles, knees and shoulders, hitting vital parts for moving, making the big bull boss be staggering in its position, stunned for a short duration for now, giving the first party a short pause to either get back into gear or finally take out the boss. Macradon would stay expressionless in his repressed anger, witnessing too many death where he wasn't able to do anything at all. He was angry at himself the most, but also at Kayaba. One of them, a giant by the standards of the players though somewhat pathetic compared to the godly form of the minotaurs, chose to forego his attack completely and, instead, to offer assistance to one of the smaller little worms who had nearly been killed by Colonel Nato. The blonde that followed him also chose to try and attack Colonel Nato, obviously the swordsman was terrified of the glory and majesty of the golden furred Minotaur. Finally, Itzal had the courage and fortitude to attack Asterios. The King of the minotaurs didn't even choose to deign Itzal's attack as being worthy of a response. When, at last, the players had concluded their woefully inadequate assault Asterios locked his gaze onto the red-headed man in the cloak. Pawing the ground several times, the King of the Minotaurs bellowed a challenge and then charged towards Mack. A powerful hand shot out and wrapped itself around the ginger man's throat. With effortless ease, Asterios lifted the axe man off the ground and held him aloft for a moment for all to see before slamming him to the ground and delivering a few sharp stomps to the player's midsection. In honesty, it was a sound course of action as the tactically savvy minotaur knew. Eliminate your greatest enemies, the three leaders of the Minotaur army, first and do that from weakest to strongest. Nato may have been the smartest among the Minotaurs, but he knew that in terms of brute strength he was badly outclassed by General Baran and Asterios, their glorious leader. As Macradon landed a stunning attack on Nato the midnight black Minotaur shook his great head and snorted, shrugging off the stunning effect. "You will have to do better than that, little man," the leader of the King's Royal Guard rumbled in a laughing tone, drawing his trashcan lid sized hand back and cracking Macradon across the face with a backhanded blow that dealt no damage but was, clearly, intended to be an insult to the swordsman. It was disappointing, and somewhat disheartening, to see a player in his own group killed. Still, the Irishman understood that such was to be expected if someone partook in what was the equivalent of a Boss Raid with gear that was not up to scratch, and Izzrikl had certainly seemed to only be using gear that was of the most basic beginner variety. If the boss used an area of effect attack, as Nato had, then no amount of tanking in all of Aincrad would be able to prevent the players in the group from taking damage and, in Izzrikl's case that damage had proven to be fatal indeed. With a silent determination, Yamato moved in to assault Colonel Nato once again, drawing the tomahawk in his hand out wide and whipping the heavy axe head across his body to slam into the Minotaur four different times with the final blow slamming into Nato's neck with bone shattering force that produced a brief shower of red pixels that indicated a critical hit had been scored. Raising his shield to a defensive position, the blonde man hunkered down and began to back away from Colonel Nato. It felt like she was floating into an endless nothingness. She remembered the boss's area of effect attack hitting her, hard. She felt her body sent flying and slam her into the ground and that was that. Did she perish? No, the Nerve Gear would of fried her entire consciousness if she did. She would not be able to float here, in this sea of nothingness, alone. Wake up! She heard a voice say to her. She suddenly just stopped everything. No longer was she floating, she was just still as a statue. A bright light shattered the black nothingness as she opened her eyes. She felt a presence near her and saw Mack over top of her as he used some kind of potion on her. She smiled weakly at him as she stood up and brushed her self off., Her body ached from the pain, even in this virtual world, the pain was almost unbearable. She cringed a little as she watched the battle near her and knew she needed to make sure she was out of the AOE range. She called out to her group. " I am alright! Sorry I am so terrible! Already they'd lost a player from the very beginning of the fight. Within moments, Izzrikl was gone in a dissolution of crystals. Raina's health bar had quickly fallen and was just barely hanging on but Mack was already at her side giving her a potion. Damn it. He'd let someone else die. Damn it. All he could do was stand there and watch. Damn it! Vargas gripped the handle of his blade tightly. "I'm not gonna let this happen again. I'm not gonna lose people without fighting against it! So bring it you overgrown cows! Show me what you got, or are you just all muscle and no brains?!" Vargas yelled, taunting the beasts. He made his way swiftly across the field, sliding underneath the Trainee Soldiers attack as he charged straight at General Nato. His blade stretched out to the side as he drew close, the sword gathering up energy as his sword art began to activate. General Nato swung his hand at him, attempting to send him flying but Vargas dodged under the swing and impaled his blade into the minotaurs side. He was intent on dealing as much pain and damage as possible as he dug the blade deeper into him. "I'll make sure you get as much pain as possible before you die," Vargas said darkly. It was expected when the player was such low leveled and weak. She looked as the blond player in her group began to grieve already, but by shouting and fighting. The red haired man claimed he was his guild leader, and it was his fault. Hidden shook her had and sighed. 'Such low levels should know not to come to a boss fight. That man was not ready for battle, and he almost deserves his death. Not as much as that bull does' Her weapon bursted a bright orange cold and she darted forward, knowing that this would be her last attack on the boss. She leapt forward, thrusting her weapon three times into the creature's chest. The bull's health fell back deep into the red zone. UGH. Just one more hit, and would have finished it for sure. He had no pity for a level 1 player who thought they could get involved in a mess like this. If they were that reckless, it wasn't bravery, but stupidity. It was as if they had no regard for their own life. Such were the players the system was meant to weed out. The frontline was meant for those who had potential. Granted, some managed to cling onto others and ride their way to the near top, but the pack mentality was to be encouraged. There were roles for everyone to play in his world, some just did not realize it. Still, there were others in the new crop of players that he didn't want to see too traumatized by death and see their morale broken, so he planted one red metal clad boot down and rushed towards Nato. His white shield held before him as he drew his Liberator. His holy paladin sword began to glow with a silvery white light as he actived <<Coup de Grace>>, he shield slammed into the minotaur and as they separated he brought his sword across the head of the minotaur, the beam of light leaving a red slash through the creature's form before it disappeared into a shower of polygons. Without even posing for the destruction of the boss mob as every last hit deserved, he turned to the newbies which surrounded him. Not managing to get up before the [Paralyze] status icon appeared, the blonde lioness stood motionless on the floor. A pathetic sight to see the proud warrior in after receiving the full blow of Asterios' attack. Her eyes darted towards their designated tank, @Morgenstern : 'What the f*** is he doing?' and other unladylike thoughts crossed her mind as she once again took the role of the party tank. Seeing everybody get riddled up just because someone that didn't belong here unsurprisingly died first made the blonde internally roll her eyes and sigh, a action she'd gladly do physically if only her body permitted her. Trying to look around the battlefield, she noticed Heathcliff had entered the stage at some point, once again stealing the last hit from those more deserving. Although she couldn't blame him too much, she would've done it too if the opportunity arose, it was still a d*** move to do that... especially as the leading figure of a somehow respected guild. The side of her lips slightly rose when she saw that she wasn't the only one suffering from temporary paralysis. He had kept the lower-levelled creatures safe for now, so that was all that mattered. Soon the rest of the parties attacked each boss, and soon Nato was taken out by Heathcliff. He gave a sigh of satisfaction as he had kept the lower-levels safe. He slowly turned his head to look at the other bosses health. It seemed that the Baran was about half health, but Asterios had barely any damage done to him. He wished he could have dealt more damage, but the DoT that he had dealt took a small chip of his health, and he knew that he had at least done some damage. He saw that there were a few soldier's and a commander still living, which he knew would be his next target. He didn't like the idea of having more damage than what the boss was already dealing to them. He bided his time and waited for this paralysis to wear off so he could get back into the fight. The rest of the group took care of the weaker cows that was a part of this boss fight as well. When it finally came to our turn again, our dedicated tank, Morgenstern, kept building up hate towards Asterios. The other two party members of my group wasn’t doing as well. They had both landed good hits on the enemies. One quite a bit more on the big guy then the other. I took a steady grip around my black greataxe and prepared to attack. But then I realised why I was here. Before I had activated the sword art, I glanced at the healthbars. I seemed Ariel had actually losed some health. Better to be safe then sorrow. So I loosened the grip around the axe and walked up to the blonde instead. Without a word I closed my crimson eyes. A few moments later two sapphire’s looked at Ariel when my hands was placed on her. I felt my grandmastered skills energy flow thru my body. Thou there was something that blocked me from healing the woman infront of me. I tried mentally to breach the barricade that prevented me to help my friend. Then the energy started to fade and the skill got canceled. No doubt, the puny humans had been cowed into submission by merely being placed in the present of so august a personage as the emperor of the minotaurs. Who could blame them? As a specimen, Asterios was quite beefy. Two of the players, Hikoru and Ariel, were so terrified of the King that they merely stood and quaked in their very boots at the sight of him, a proper response when confronted with the majesty of a ruler. As Morgenstern howled his defiance at Asterios the minotaur stalked in the direction of the tank. "I believe I shall call you Sir Loin," the King thundered, whipping his weapon around his body and slamming the business end of it into Morgenstern's face with enough force to snap the tank's head around to one side. "Really, this group is utterly disappointing to me," the King continued, spinning on the spot and blasting Ariel, Hikoru, and Zandra in turn as the Field Commander and Trainee both bull rushed in to aid their monarch, slamming into Morgenstern and promptly keeling over to twitch spasmodically as they were paralyzed. "My soldiers are not exactly outstanding in their fields," Asterios muttered to himself, turning to watch the continuing combat now that the group of players had been thoroughly dealt with. However, with the front liners now paralyzed, and several of them more than a little damaged, there was now a knot twisting in his gut for an entirely different reason. I don't like how quickly things turned around for the advanced team. Still, I can't risk drawing fire from him like we did from Nato. The weak boss was peanuts, so it was a calculated risk, but attacking Asterios would be putting players in danger. His course was clear. He narrowed his eyes, and as if in response to his focus, wind caught the cape that was fastened to his armor, sending the fabric fanning out beside him. For a moment, he almost thought he could feel Baran's ire being drawn his way. Good. He kicked off from the ground, propelling himself forward as he swept his axe in a wide arc. It clanged harmlessly off of the beast's horn, but he had the minutaur's attention, which in the end was far more important. "See if you can hurt me this time," he growled, practically spitting in the creature's face. Its breath washed over him, stinking of hay and greenery, like a barnyard, only more rancid. "Blech..." When the blonde woman from the dance told him that most players on the front lines don't fight to escape the world. They fight to get the drops and will do anything to get their hands on them. This was shown to Domarus very clearly when a player charged into the fight from nowhere and finished off the lowest boss. The player's outfit was clearly KoB design and he was clearly not in the fight before. Which must have meant that he stayed behind waiting for the boss's health to be low enough for this. After destroying it Domarus overheard faintly the player giving orders to the lower levels. Directly afterwards the strongest party was completely paralyzed by the strongest boss. Which meant they needed to get rid of the Baron. Most likely there would be a random player who was going to wait until the very last second to strike the Baron, even if they were supposed to take down Asterios. To Domarus however, reputation was far more important than getting a boss drop. He heard Aereth's words and smiled underneath his helmet with approval. One of the best parts of his armor was it hid his emotions from view. Aereth was truly the perfect choice for a member of his organization. "Right. Aereth! Sey! The rest of you! Don't draw attention from Asterios yet! Focus on the Baron! After he's down we can work out how we'll strike Asterios!" Domarus charged at the Baron and released Screw Dimension, dealing another decent amount of damage on the boss. As usual though Domarus was unsatisfied with his damage output. It was his goal to deal the most in this game and that's just what he'd do. One day at least. He turned to the other players and nodded. "Alright your up!" His spear tip would gain a light blue glow at the end of it, showing the triggering of a sword art, it was going to be the most devastating one he could trigger. With one uppercut slice of the weaponry, he would launch his own body into the air, preparing to attack from the air. While his uppercut disappointingly did not even cause any knockback on the body of the boss, it still left it exposed to damage. So the snow-haired player would proceed to stab the enemy swiftly a few times while he was still moving upwards. After that, he would rush the enemy with a few side slash attacks down the chest, moving towards the stomach before a final pierce at the waist would be launched. With that, he would move himself back towards where Hidden was. "I'm back." He had heard some things about the commander of the Knights of the Bloodoath, but up until now Aereth wasn't able to see him in action. "Another unique skill wielder..." he thought, but then focused back on his own battle. It seemed like Aereth's group had calmed down again and was now only focused on the task at hand. Killing General Baran. Domarus and Sey charged in and did some good damage to the boss, before Aereth also choose to take action once again. His sword started to glow in a dark blue color, indicating that he was preparing a sword art. Immediately after Sey finished his attack, Aereth made his way back behind Baran, and chained swipes of his blade together with the use of his material arts skill. The second strike came not soon after, players from his group rushing forward one by one. It appeared that one of the group had tried calming the others down, the brunette didn't know if it had worked or not but in any case he managed to free himself from the iron grip of the general. Skidding backwards until he came to a halt he then sprung forward once again activating merciless flurry. The effect of charge would no longer apply however he was already within a striking distance of the general.
