F2-PP) Ending the Line (Long Live The Queen)

Recommended Posts

Sky was napping on the second floor, just inside the safe zone of his shop, which extended a tiny big outside due the the veranda he had there. He was wondering about what to do, having heard about a quest to take down a wasp queen, though he didn't feel like doing it alone. He knew he could, it was no danger to him at all, but still, questing alone.... Kinda made him bored. He wondered who he could send a message to, deciding to sent one to Vigilon. He had armor now, so he was guessing the guy would be able to handle this whole affair.

Going to do a quest on the second floor, was wondering if you wanted to tag along

After he sent that, he stretched, heading towards the town to fully prepare. On the walk, he looked around for any signs of wildlife, seeing nothing, meaning he felt kind of safe.... But he knew it would be a while before he actually REACHED the town. Little did he know a wolf was waiting in the shadows, preparing to pounce on him.

Vigilon was preparing himself for anything, since he originally planned on exploring the floors. But when he soon received a message from Stryder, he decided to postpone his original plans. "Well, Veriost, you up for a minor fight or two? 'Cause it looks like I'm joining in on a quest." The small white dragon just looked at him, as if to say, "It better not put me in danger." "If you're concerned about dying, I don't think you have to worry. Any monsters would probably try tearing me apart instead. But I usually don't pick fights I can't win." He left for the second floor, and when he got close to Stryder's location, he wondered if there was anything else in the quest besides fighting, or what the fighting was about. He saw Stryder, and began running towards him, but stopped, and looked around, unsure of the current situation. "Is it just me, or is this a perfect situation for a monster attack?"

Sky smiled as he watched Vigilon running towards him, though when he stopped, he wondered why. Did he find other plans? Did he see something? He didn't know, maybe it was something brutal!!! Maybe it was some weak ass excuse like he was busy. Sky noticed his pet, but before he could do much else, he got a bad feeling, which was right on target. He quickly ducked, two bear claws going right over his head, in which he instantly did a three sixty, kicking them both as hard as he could with his Tornado kick, watching as both their HP's dropped to below half from the single strike.

He didn't have time to warn Vigilon about the third bear that was coming after him, Sky's fists were already up and ready to action. He had noticed Vigilon had a lot of gear on, meaning he had gotten stronger, he would be fine.

Vigilon swung his sword three times at the bear, dealing some pretty good damage and inflicting bleed on it. The bear barely missed him, and Vigilon smiled over how strong he was becoming so far. "Some people say if you mess with a wolf, snake, fill in the blank, you get the fangs. Mess with a vigilante, that's a whole nother matter." Stryder obviously had the other two pretty much taken care of, and Vigilon had only one problem in front of him. He noticed that Veriost was helping him out, blasting ice-cold frost breath at the bear. "Fo!!!" "Nice to know you can do that, Veriost!" The small dragon smiled back at Vigilon, and looked at him as if to say, "You kind of saved me, so I'll save you!" Vigilon had to think about that. "What could have possibly wanted to hurt him?" He had to think about that later, as well as the fact that he didn't exactly think he could correctly read Veriost's expressions. There was a bear to slay.

The bears dashed towards Sky, attempting to go for a kill shot, but he quickly sidestepped, and used his Tornado Kick again, spinning before delivering a powerful kick into the bear, which made it hit its friend and both exploding into a thousand pieces. He had killed two, and noticed a third going for Vigilon. He didn't interfere though, he sat down, a fair distance away and relaxed. He had killed his targets, he was going to see how far his friend had come in the time he had been apart from him. He started wondering about what kind of pet he was going to get.

"Give em hell Bear Bait!!!" He called out, deciding to try and annoy his friend. He couldn't help it, but everytime he was around this guy a swarm of mobs showed up!!! Like the game didn't like him or something.

Vigilon was slightly annoyed over being called "Bear bait" this time, but he was more annoyed at the fact that it seemed to be true. When he was looking for Veriost on floor 4, he often saw monsters, but they didn't seem interested in fighting. Maybe it was because there was a player in the 50's in level nearby? That had to be dwelt on another time. There was a Bear that needed slaying. "Come at me!!"

Let's roll, shall we!?

That could have gone better, but it didn't. Vigilon was a little confused over not moving as fast as he could have, until he was hit. "Argh!" "Dang, it was a freaking crit!" He fell to the ground on his side, but he wasn't done with this thing yet. Veriost flew over to see if he was okay, and he got up, looked the beast in the eye, and said, "Alright, you got a crit. Impressive, but now I'm pissed." He would be more on his guard when the two clashed again, that was certain.

Sky didn't react as Vigilon took the hit. He knew the guy was going to be fine, he had a familiar, he had a weapon, he had some armor, he was going to be fine. He looked around, seeing some leather on the ground next to him. He blinked, wondering HOW he had managed to miss that piece of leather... He picked it up, putting it into his inventory before he looked back at Viglion. The guy looked like he was standing tall, there was no real trouble there, and he knew that if something happened he could step in, though if he did he would ruin the guys chances at loot. He stayed put, a fair way away from the action as to not draw some attention from the bear that was currently fighting Vigilon. He didn't feel like being the one to ruin his chances at getting a cool item or two.

This time Vigilon tried to attack first.

Let's roll, shall we!?

Vigilon struck the bear three times before the bleed damage finished it off. He stepped where it stood, hoping to find something pop up on the loot menu...

LOOT ROLL!!!

Vigilon obtained some Col and a bunch of bear claws. "I don't think I'll have use for these, but someone will. Maybe an Artisan can use these, probably for something fierce-looking." He stashed the claws, which were equivalent to one material, into his inventory. Veriost landed back on Vigilon's shoulder, and looked towards Stryder. Vigilon walked over. "So, now that those bears are out of the way, your message said something about a quest?" Veriost tilted her head to the side as she slowly got closer and looked at Stryder, when she was at the edge of Vigilon's shoulder, she began to stare at Stryder as if she was going to possibly jump on his shoulder. "Oh, I think I should mention him. This is Veriost."

Loot: 14 - No mat.... Just.....

Sky watched as he used Snake Bite, a sword art he was all to familiar with, to finish off the bear. He had to admit he was proud of the way he had handled himself, compared to when he had saved him from boars. It was a common occurrence for Sky to run into random players in fights, and if he noticed they were in trouble he would come and help, but not always did he stay friends with them, and in this case, stay friends.

"The quest is to kill some wasp queen. It looks like it will be easy enough, and unless your allergic we should be fine" He says, smiling. "The reward if i can remember right is a potion poison to put on a blade, it is timed, not a permanent boost, but it would be helpful in a bind" He says with a thoughtful gaze, hoping he got it right. He was looking at a lot of quests, and he was just hoping he wasn't getting it confused with someone else.... He shrugged, standing up, his energy having returned, and as he looked around he once again failed to find a material.

"A poison for a blade? I could use that at some point..." "A Queen, eh? She better be on one of those flights or trips on her own, I don't feel like facing a whole hive..." Vigilon hoped he wouldn't encounter anything too dangerous, and he didn't think it would be a good idea for two players to just charge into the monsters' domain and end up fighting over 50 mobs on their own. "Assuming she has any workers escorting her, are they tough on their own? 'Cause that would make them a terrifying challenge in groups." Veriost looked at Vigilon as if he'd gotten himself in something the two might not handle. "Gaarrrmmmmmm......" "As long as they're weak, or in smaller groups, we should be fine, Veriost." He then rummaged through the bushes looking for anything he could find, and found a chunk of ore hidden in the bushes. "At this rate, I should save up for the gatherer skill."

As far as Sky knew, you only had to fight the one. The queen herself, which wasn't going to be that hard as far as he knew. He had never actually done this quest before, so he didn't actually know if it was worthwhile doing it or not, but he had heard it gave some nice experience, so he wanted to take it, and who better to take it theb boar bait.

"It won't be that bad, we will make some commotion outside the hive, draw out the big queen and kill it" He said, giving the thumbs up he always gave when something was going there way. "No biggie, piece of cake" He said, smiling. He didn't want this to be any harder then it had to be, and right now this was looking to be an easy quest that they could and would finish within a few hours. He was confident he could one shot the queen, it was only floor two after all, he knew that at this floor he could take anything out in one or two hits, which gave him a serious advantage when he stuck around these floors

OOC: We could face "The Queen's Escorts" to ensure that we reach the post minimum if you want.

Vigilon first thought that the idea of drawing out the queen with a commotion wasn't going to work. If there was a commotion, the workers would come out first! "Hey, I actually had a thought on that. With insects that sting, queens can challenge each other, right? If the workers try to respond instead of the queen, there could be another way to get the queen's attention. This may sound ridiculous, but if we were to replicate a queen's challenge cry and pheromone, we could specifically bring the queen to us with little trouble of extra enemies." But how in this game could he get the pheromone? Unless it could be looted from other insect monsters, it wouldn't be easy to do so... Vigilon searched and rummaged through the bushes on the other side of the path, but there was nothing to be found. Veriost looked at Stryder curiously, and was wondering what he thought on Vigilon's crazy idea.

He simply blinked his eyes. He never had understood science.... AT ALL. It was the one subject at school that he just couldn't wrap his head around, and with the suggestion he just blinked, a little.... confused. He looked around, picking up a stick. These things were meant to be giant wasps, meaning all he had to do was aggro them over towards them. That would be easier.

"That.... sounds a little excessive for a game, why don't we just lob stones at them like cavemen?" He said, trying to make a joke about not actually understanding the whole pharoanom thing. He sighed, a little disappointed with himself. He wished he was better then that. He looked around, noticing that behind Vigilon there was a bit of leather. He walked over, picking it up and putting it into his inventory. He wanted to get this quest out of the way, the idea of science made his head hurt....

Vigilon took notice of Stryder's confusion, and repeated the fact to himself, in his head, that Stryder understood almost nothing about what Vigilon said. "Ah ha ha, cavemen? Pfft, that would probably get us swarmed and killed. But if we were to try that with only one, or a few, they just might have what we need." He began walking, and soon Veriost helped him turn his attention to something largish and brown hanging from a large, sturdy tree. It appeared to be a nest in progress, with the Queen cell in the middle, with the cap on it. "This game would correct me if I'm wrong, but there should be a Queen pupa in that cell. By the looks of it, it could emerge in an hour or so, meaning if we break her out of the cell early, she should be pretty weak." "Hey Stryder, this one looks ripe for picking if you ask me. There's about four of them, I think." Veriost flew upwards, but downwards almost immediately when one of the wasps took notice. She dove towards the small dragon, but when Veriost dodged, the stinger stabbed Vigilon in the shoulder. "Really, Veriost?" Vigilon retaliated, dealing 5 damage.

More....... And MORE..... Wasps... Sky hated insects. He wasn't scared of them, didn't mean he had to like them at all. He cracked his neck, dashing in and kicking off his left foot, spinning around and doing a full three sixty and delivering a powerkick to the four wasps protecting the Pupa, killing all four with the touch, the moment the foot made contact the wasps exploded into rainbow shards, and he landed, smiling. His energy was competely depleted, so he sat back, taking a deep breath from the phantom exhaustion.

"This ones yours, good luck!" He yelled out. He had noticed Vigilon getting hit, but took not much note, having noticed how low the damage actually was. He had no worries that his companion would die, at all, he knew that he would be fine, he had just fought a bear about twelve times this thigns strength, and killed it no problem.

Veriost began using her teeth, claws, and maw to cut the cap off the cell while the other wasps were distracted, and the pupa fell down with a soft landing. Vigilon saw Stryder use tornado kick to take out all four wasps. "Nice one Stryder!" The pupa had everything but a fully developed set of wings, and was dazed and confused from coming out early. Vigilon took this chance to strike her with Snake Bite, inflicting bleed in the process. Veriost was eager to help. "Fo!!!" "Yeah, this won't take long at all." To Vigilon, this fight seemed to be easier than he thought it would. "Man, these things are practically weaklings..." He was prepared for any retaliation this thing could make, from what Vigilon assumed this almost developed bug could possibly do, that is. "Just try to come at me. I dare you."

  • 1 month later...

(Hey, sorry fot the extreamely long absense, a lot happened to me last month, im coming back now, slowly)

Sky just relaxed, starting to regain his energy. His companion wasn't as strong as him, but he could keep himself alive, and he knew that he would be fine, especially against something that weak. He simply relaxed, deciding to just take in the views around him. This quest was quite.... Something, he never liked bugs that much but he could stand them, and this wasn't to bad so he simply just relaxed. He opened his inventory, pulling out a little food he had made for himself earlier, just some apples and a sandwhich. He wasn't a chef, so he had failed it horribly, but it was edible. He ate it and the apple, watching as Vigilon used snake bite to deal some damage. He remembered when he used the one handed sword, he kind of missed the feel of it in his hands, but he had realized quickly that it just didn't do enough damage, and he wanted to be able to hold his own, so he had changed around.

"Don't die!"

It didn't matter if he hit it or not, the pupa was doomed, and if Vigilon missed, the bleed damage would finish it off. The Dazed Pupa attempted to strike Vigilon, but he sidestepped and stabbed her. She bled out and shattered soon after. Vigilon saw a bottle of some kind of fluid where the Pupa once was just a few seconds ago, and picked it up. He examined it for a minute or two, then smiled, knowing his idea just might work, for the fluid inside must have been concentrated challenge pheromone(Wait, how could it be concentrated? Never mind.). "I think this is what we need. I think just this should get the Queen's direct attention. So, when do we set off?" He had dealt with a bear, and a weak pupa, so how bad could the queen possibly be? "Right, we should be good. Much better if Stryder doesn't call me 'Bug Bait' by the end of the day..."

OOC: we can make the queen lootable if you want, cause I currently see no problem with that, but obviously I'd like to regenerate first.

(Lootable queen can't happen since its a quest mob, we can make a guard or two lootable tho)

He still had zero idea about waht was going on with this, pheranome, but... it was worth a shot? He didn't really care either way, his energy was replenishing and he could relax while they waited for Vigilon to get his energy back.

"Well, my quest marker says its about a ten minute walk.... west, so lets head over and hang back a little until we are ready! Its a queen, who knows how strong it will be" He replied, smiling as he started walking towards his marker. It didn't take long, and once they were there he saw the hive. It was HUGE!!! It was around half the size of a house!!! THis thing.... It looked like it housed some real bad ones.

"We better stay cautious while doing this, don't want cha to end up as Bug Bait do we?" He jokes, laughing slightly in a friendly way.

Vigilon needed to replenish his energy, but the plan was ready to be sprung. Stryder began walking towards the destination of the quest, and Vigilon followed. When they got a little close, Vigilon whistled at the size of that hive. "That's a big hive... This could be tougher than we thought..." Veriost also seemed a little nervous. "Grrmmm....." Then Stryder said the words...Bug Bait. "*sigh*, There it is..." He muttered. He just had to say it once. But it didn't matter right now. "From the looks of it, if I opened this thing up, the queen will be on top of us in almost less than a minute...I think. Thus, I think we should keep our distance for a bit." Vigilon's energy still had yet to fully regenerate, and he was going to need it. Maybe he could look behind himself for anything he might be able to use while he waited. There was nothing there, but maybe he could find something else soon.
