Thus, the Festival had started, the old man running the booth as eager as he has been had removed the blanket that had been covering the machine to reveal Aincrad's newest in fun technology "Battle-bot" with people gathering around the bot to see its reveal, many were surprised to see a robot in red with a microphone in one hand... however it was turned off. The old man had silenced everyone so the reveal can be made... the suspense was building till the robots bright yellow eyes shined through the bots eyes as it looked to everyone. Battle-bot not wasting any time raised the microphone to wear his mouth would be if he was human and exclaimed "Beep Boop. Battle-bot 1.0 fired up and ready to serve. Who will be my next opponent?" he then looked towards the crowd. The old man then placed a sign in front of the circle that states "Line Starts Here."

OOC: Beep Boop. Players don't control me! Use @Beatbox to get your roll against you! Beep boop.

A few moments after he had completed making a round around the festival, Calrex looked to see that there was an interesting stand set up with what appeared to be a robot designed for sparring. Taking a glance around to see if anyone else was approaching to try it out, he was surprised that no one had decided to take a shot yet, "I guess I'm just really early? Might as well give it a try."

Approaching the spot where the line started, marked by the sign, he gave a nod to the old man who was manning the attraction, "Hi there, I'd like to give it a try."

Reading over the requirements for the battle the bluenette unequipped all of his equipment save the Amethyst Charm, which he held up to the man, "Will this trinket work alright? It has an Accuracy and Evasion boost on it. If not then I can work with just my familiar, and my Precision skill mod if allowed."

Winding up his arms for a moment he loosened his limbs, "No Sword Arts huh? Alright, then pure base damage it is. This ought to be interesting."

The bluenette had walked up first in line as Battle-bot looked over to the line, many players were excited that they were not going to be the first person to try to fight the bot, however... the player had a few questions that Battle-bot had understood. Battle-bot had walked over to the player and pointed to the sign with the rules "The rules state that Consumables, Weapons, Sword Arts, and Familiar Mastery Fighter is banned. Anything else is free game. Beep-boop." the old man had looked over to @Calrex with a smile and said "Welp, you heard the Battle-bot." then he had taken a few steps back. Battle-bot's eyes switched from yellow to red as it stated out "Combat Mode Engaged, do you accept the challenge Player? Beep-boop" he tilted his head when stating as a portion of his chest opened for him to place his microphone inside.

Feeling a bead of sweat form on the side of his head Calrex gave a small sigh before putting on a smile, "Alright then if you say so. Challenge Accepted."

Stepping forward so that he was in position the bluenette calmed his senses and closed his hands into fists, assuming a fighting stance that was not used for any of the <<Martial Arts>> techniques used in Sword Art Online, "Since there's no Sword Arts allowed in this duel, I guess I can see if I still remember any of the stuff I practiced before getting trapped here. There's not many opportunities for that to happen after all."

It had been quite some time. If he could recall, the last time that he fought anyone or anything without using Sword Arts was the last time he dueled Jomei on the beach. That seemed like forever and a half ago, during one of the long absences that the ginger-headed young man had taken from the frontlines. Now after another period, apparently from being kidnapped by orange players, he had returned once again, "I just hope he's able to stick around for longer, especially with what transpired afterwards with Piera, Lee, and Zandra...in any case I'd better keep focused."

"Roc, you're up."

His blue peregrine falcon familiar appeared overhead in a flash of light, circling above and boosting Calrex's accuracy further. Now the only thing to do was wait until the duel started. "Let's see how this goes..."

Sky walks into the line, watching the mystery fighter squaring out against a massive robot called FIghtbot! It didn't look that tough.... But he had zero idea what it was capable of. He wondered what kind of rules were in this, looking over at the sign. It showed he couldn't use sword arts, or damage boosts! That set his damage at..... a lot lower then he wanted, but it was only base damage..... Meaning this thing couldn't be that powerful. He smiled, walking over and standing in the front of the line, getting a glorious frontline seat.

"Good luck mate!" He calls out, smiling as he watches, looking to see exactly how this guy goes. He didn't recognize him at all, he looked to be a martial artist.... He was guessing, by the way he stood in the fight. He wondered what kind of player he was, a frontliner.... Maybe he was a newbie he could teach! Maybe he was someone he could learn from, he didn't know, but he was insanely interested in finding out!!!

Round 1 | ID#: 86976
BD: 5 + (3 ACC) - (1 EVA) = 7 - Hit!
(10) - (50% Unique Skill) = 5 DMG

Battle-bot's metal arms were held up in a guard in front of his frame, making small circles in the air while the robot bobbed up and down in place. His opponent had finished preparing himself, and so the bot initiated the fight. With impressive speed, his robotic legs carried him towards @Calrex, closing the gap between them and delivering an uppercut punch underneath the bluenette's chin. "Error. Beep-boop." The bot spoke, frozen in his combat stance. After a moment Battle-bot backed away, his arms still held up in a guard. Eyes changing from crimson to a bright blue in an instant, the bot would say, "Analysis Mode Engaged..." a short pause, "Analysis Complete. Unique Skill detected. Beep-boop." With that, Battle-bot's eyes shifted back to a piercing red and the robot began to bob up and down again as if nothing had happened.

"Oh, sorry 'bout that!" The old man called out from the sidelines. "His conversation could use some work. You can keep on goin'!" He reassured the blue-haired player with a wave of his hand. Placing his hands on his hips, the man noticed another boy was eagerly watching the fight. With a proud smile, he brought his arm back and gave @Stryder a solid pat on the back. "You next, buddy? Just go on in there as soon as they're done." He explained with a grin.

As Calrex felt the bot's uppercut connect with him he watched as a little bit of HP disappeared from his bar, "Well, this is a festival event after all. It shouldn't be expected to be dealing a ridiculous amount of damage. In any case..."

"...Unique Skill detected..."

Feeling a bead of sweat form on the side of his head at the mention of his skill the bluenette looked over, "At least it wasn't something I was keeping secret. Either way I guess the cat's out of the bag?"

Giving a small sigh he lowered back into his fighting stance, bringing his left arm across his body so that it was underneath his right arm, which was now bent at a 90 degree angle with his knuckles facing towards the sky, parallel with his body, "Whelp, here goes."

Rushing forward he stopped his moment right in front of the robot before swiftly unleashing the Kali technique known as the Heaven Earth Six, rapidly barraging his opponent with a chain of blows before stepping back.

Round 2 | ID#: 86985
BD: 2 + (3 ACC) - (1 EVA) = 4 - Miss!

Each of @Calrex's strikes were dead-on, either slipping through Battle-bot's guard or making solid contact with the bot's arms. The force from the onslaught caused the robot to reel backwards, looking as though he would nearly lose his balance. Attempting to use the momentum to throw his metal fists back at the man, the bot missed every mark, not even managing to land a single counter-attack. By the time Calrex disengaged from the skirmish, the health bar hovering in the air next to the robot had drained almost to its half-way mark.

Getting a moment to recover, Battle-bot leaned back forward to firmly plant the feet on both of his angled, cylindrical legs back flat on the ground.  He brought his guard up again, holding his matching metal arms still in front of his torso. The bot simply stood, red unblinking eyes watching the bluenette carefully as if he was now going on the defensive.

"Well, good thing that worked. I guess I should press the advantage then."

Seeing that the robot had gone into a defensive stance Calrex's eyes watched the metallic arms come in front, almost similar in some ways to a boxer, focusing all of their defenses in the direction of their opponent. "Guess that means a straight blast won't break through then. I can try attacking from the sides."

Like he was flipping through a set of skills in his mind, the bluenette fell upon the techniques he had practiced from the martial art Muay Boran, the predecessor to the sport art Muay Thai. Bringing his arms in front of him, almost like the robot's, he angled them to be on diagonals in front, his right elbow to the side, forming a line up to his left shoulder where his right hand hovered. His left arm was parallel to this, with his left hand beneath his right elbow.

Rushing forward he snaked his hands forward, forming and pushing through a small gap between the arms. From there he used a combination of leverage and momentum, twisting both arms counterclockwise, his left hand stopping as it pointed towards the sky while his right pointed to the ground.

This formed a clear opening for the bluenette to step forward with his right foot, twisting his body left so that he connected his elbow with the robot's head. Ricocheting off of the impact he twisted toward center while thrusting toward its torso with his left hand forward with a palm strike. Since his right arm was still to the left side all it took was extending his arm to grab the robot by the left side of its upper torso, pulling it into a right knee.

To finish the combination Calrex twisted fully back to the right, winding up the momentum to send his left fist forward in a side punch to the center of the bot's torso. Giving a small sigh as he saw the robot's health drop into a single strike range he prepared for its counterattack.

Round 2 | ID#: 87120
BD: 3 + (3 ACC) - (1 EVA) = 5 - Miss!

Despite the Battle-bot's initial strike, the fight seemed to lean in favor of the player rather quickly. Attempting to guard against the bluenette's next attacks, the fighting robot tried in vain to predict the man's movements. His torso swiveled from the waist up, turning from side to side when @Calrex approached. Despite his attempts, Battle-bot took the brunt of the man's attacks while his HP bar steadily emptied as a result. Whirring and clicking noises escaped the bot's metal frame as he was left in the red zone, stumbling backwards from the last of Calrex's assault. "Critical error. Danger zone detected. Beep-boop." The bot rattled off as it recognized the little HP it had remaining. Taking a wider stance, Battle-bot rushed towards the player, taking an offensive approach as he tried to unleash his own barrage of punches at the man. As his metal arms extended one after another, none of his attacks could hit their mark. At his failure, a light cloud of steam appeared on either side of the bot's head, signaling his apparent frustration despite the lack of expression on his 'face'.

With the bot's unsuccessful response to his previous attack combination, Calrex gave a small sigh of relief. Of course, this battle wasn't meant to be designed to put him at risk, but he still wished to take each hit seriously. Whether in the real world, or on the frontlines, a single hit could change the course of a battle in or against one's favor, "Better not play around and wrap this up."

Clenching both of his hands into fists he quickly moved forward, tucking his head to keep is frame as small as possible. Right as he felt he was in striking range he began to unleash a rapid barrage of punches, pulling back his right hand as his left shot forward and vice versa. He couldn't see if he was connecting from the rapidity of the attacks.

With a final punch he paused for a moment, winding up for a finishing blow. However, right as he did so he was able to see the bot's health, unmoved from its previous position. It turned out that what he thought was "within striking range" was actually off by about three inches, so each and every one of his punches whiffed air. If his opponent had hair the only thing that would have changed from before was that their hair would have been whipped around.

"Well that's not good..."

Round 3 | ID#: 87739
BD: 4 + (3 ACC) - (1 EVA) = 6 - Hit!

The mechanical clicks and whirrs that continued to sound inside of the Battle-Bot's frame picked up in speed. His torso bobbed up and down in rhythm, waiting for @Calrexs next move. His bright yellow eyes, though unblinking and locked into place, scanned the player as he always was in order to determine the most logical course of action.

When Calrex rushed towards him, Battle-Bot took a single step back, looking hesitant to move to one side or the other. In the next second, Calrex's fists pumped through the air in a flurry, leaving the bot no additional time to react. Concluding that his only remaining option was to brace for impact, the robot held his ground.

The mechanical clicks housed by the Battle-Bot's metal frame had slowed to a crawl. A small moment of realization passed over them both just as Calrex looked ready to throw a finishing attack. With an opportunity before him, the bot raised his left arm straight into the air, fingers extended outward. With their close proximity, Battle-Bot needed only to drop his metal appendage from the sky to deliver a single chop to the top of the bluenette's head.

After his failed...and partially flailing in appearance attempt at a finishing combination, it felt almost comical that he felt the robot's single chop hit him on the crown of his head. If he took a step back from the moment it would have been a rather funny moment for him to laugh about. However, he had to focus and make sure to end the fight before it dragged on longer than intended.

With a swaying motion from back to forward the bluenette quickly built up a lot of momentum without needing a running start, throwing his left shoulder right in a clockwise rotation. Jumping at the same time his entire body went into a quick spin as he raised his left leg up in a crescent kick motion. Feeling his foot connect with the robot's head he continued the momentum around, raising his right leg while coming around. As his opponent came into view once again his right heel came down in a descending hook kick. Completing the entirety of the jackknife attack Calrex landed on his feet, giving a small sigh of relief as the bot's duel health bar drop to zero.

Giving a bow to his opponent before returning his hands to his jacket pockets he turned to the old man managing the booth with a calm smile, "That was fun, thanks for the duel."

With the last flurry of attacks, Battle-Bot's health bar dropped, stopping at a single point of health. His crimson eyes flashed before the lights disappeared completely, and the robot's form slumped over. After his defeat, Battle-Bot's health slowly began to regenerate.

"Hoo boy..." The old man tending to the booth ran a hand through his thinning hair, giving a scratch when he stopped at the back of his head. "The poor bot didn't stand a chance." After giving a pitying shake of his head towards the robot, he turned his attention back to Calrex and gave the player a wide grin. "Congratulations, young man! You've bested this humble mechanic and his bot. Get somethin' nice with these." He reached a hand out to give Calrex a firm handshake and placed a small stack of 5-token pieces in the bluenette's hand.

As he bid the player farewell, the old man turned to @Stryder, the raven-haired player that had been patiently waiting. "Alrighty, you're up, son! Battle-bot should be just about ready for 'ya now." The man placed his hands on his hips, looking over to the robot as its health had nearly finished replenishing.

@Calrex receives 30 tokens!

Sky watches the whole fight, insanely exited about it! He moved it, watching Calrex fight, it was dam impressive! He wouldn't mind actually getting to know him better, it would be a nice experience. He looked over at the old man, smiling as he got into the arena, but before walking more onto the centre he called towards Calrex

"Nice fight man! Good job" He said, smiling as he walked off. Sky then continued to the middle of the ring, looking over at the man. He hadn't read all the rules, but from the fight he had gathered that no damage buffs, or unique skills were allowed, though only half of that applied to him, he had no unique skill, but he did have damage enhancements. He smiled, looking around, deciding to ask the old man for the run down.

"So, what i get when i beat this thing!" He cockily calls out.

Fireworks began to burst in the night sky. When the old man's attention turned to the colorful spectacle, he first gazed upon it in admiration. His bushy brows furrowed and his forehead creased while he brought a hand up to the nape of his neck. "Ahh cripes..." He mumbled under his breathe before turning to what would have been the next challenger. "I'm really sorry, kid." His expression shifted to one of embarrassment and guilt.

"This bot here won't last after the festival ends." His gruff voice was full of disappointment. He slipped a broad, calloused hand into a pouch at his hip, walking over to Stryder and holding out a stack of fifteen coins for the player to take. "Here, s'the least I can do since you didn't get yer match." All the while, the Battle-Bot's mechanisms clicked and whirred while the sound of popping fireworks sounded in the sky.

@Stryder receives 15 tokens
