[F11-PP] Unexpected Meetings -Kooh and Myself-

Recommended Posts

Domarus had made a change of pattern today.  Instead of grinding or making friendly actions with the players in the towns on the lower floors, he had chosen to take a look at the eleventh floor where the guild Knights of the Blood Oath resided.  He was not going to be surpassing or challenging them anytime soon, however it was good to gather any intel on your enemies, whether distant or not, before they knew you two were enemies.  He was intending to keep the fact that they were enemies a secret, even after rising in the ranks of guilds.  He walked through the floor in his casual clothing:  A black T-shirt and pants.  He did his best to blend in, but players would be able to detect his cursor and identify that he was a player if they were paying attention.  In any case, he asked Keres to wear something other than her typical maid's outfit in order to avoid attention.  So instead she wore a red shirt and black skirt, following beside him as usual.  Porvós was slithering in the shadows, keeping his flames down to avoid detection, and Rhozarth was flying high enough to make himself appear as if he were a bird in the sky rather than a flaming dragon.  Hopefully he would be able to find the head quarters and get some useful information.  Or at least run into one of their members.

"Wow, thanks! You're a lifesaver!" Kooh wore a bright smile as she pressed the confirmation on a trade window in front of her. The blonde had managed to secure not only a decent sum of col, but a handful of materials as well. As far as what she was going to do with the money that she had received from this stranger, she hadn't gotten that far yet. She was simply trying to get back into the swing of things. Even after all that had happened in the past couple of weeks, it seemed almost eerily natural to go back to lying to strangers. As the girl gave a friendly wave and a wide smile, she turned her back on the player that had so willingly given her the items. Once she had gotten far enough away, Kooh slipped her hand into her pocket and the innocent expression was wiped from her face. She looked bored as she strolled through the city, wondering to herself what she should do with the rest of her day.

The blonde could only imagine her roommate's reaction if he knew that she was scamming players out of their resources. Perhaps he would scorn and scold her. Maybe he would even kick her out. The thought had the girl give a tiny chuckle under her breath. She had been thinking of removing herself from Halcyon's Keep for a few days now, but hadn't bothered to commit to the decision. A proper bed and free meals were hard to just give up when they were right in front of her every day.

Domarus continued along the path, so far undisturbed by others.  That was when it had occurred.  Rhozarth's sharp eyes had noticed a player among the crowd and it's curiosity got the better of him.  Rhozarth began to circle down, and flew towards a section of the city she had been walking towards.  His flames were off and, despite him being a very proud and majestic creature who disliked having to hide, he saw stealth as priority and ensured she didn't see him.  Rhozarth would interact with the world around, scaring npc's into her way, having crates fall down, anything that would cause Kooh to think twice about going in that direction.  The more he did this, which was spaced between streets in order not to look suspicious, her path slowly made it's way to run into Domarus.  After altering her path a little more, Kooh would soon walk by Domarus, or beside him.  It all depended on where Domarus was heading.  With his job done, he swiftly returned to the skies as fast as he could to ensure she didn't notice him, before once again resuming his 'pattern' of flying around aimlessly, scanning the ground and watching for a reaction.

Domarus had heard sounds in the distance and he wondered what could have caused them.  He looked up to Rhozarth so that he would give a signal telling him if it was something to worry about or not, but the familiar was missing from the sky.  He grit his teeth before looking back in the direction of the sounds.  What the hell was Rhozarth doing to abandon his post?  When he looked back up the familiar had returned and he scanned the area quickly, noting a player with blonde hair and red eyes.  Red eyes that held mischief in them.  What on earth could Rhozarth could have found so important that he would abandon his post and lure this player to him?  At any rate, he would act like any normal human being and take notice of her, smiling and nodding at her as he walked.  How she reacted would most likely determine how the rest of his day would turn out.

Hands resting in the pockets of her shorts, Kooh weaved through the loose crowds while she thought about what to do next. She would probably stick around town for a bit longer before heading back to Halcyon's Keep. She normally didn't like to do any dirty work so close to where she lived, but she was planning to leave the restaurant soon enough.

As she was making her way through the more narrow streets to the next plaza, the blonde heard a scream just before a figure bumped into her from her side. The girl stumbled a bit, but stayed on her feet, looking over her shoulder in annoyed confusion to see a female NPC scurrying down the street the way she had come. The blonde's eyebrows narrowed slightly, as if to wonder what was wrong with the woman before she shook off the incident and continued walking. A minute later, she was met by a couple of NPCs trying to pick up some fallen barrels and boxes that had blocked off a major street. The girl's bottom lip twitched into a small frown, but she simply continued on the same path rather than taking the turn she normally would have. A couple of minutes later, she put some distance between herself and another man she overheard grumbling about "those damn rats again".

She wasn't sure if it was the NPCs' programming, but sometimes she hated having to live among the false humans. Other real people got on her nerves enough as it was, so she didn't need artificial intelligence roaming around to get in her way. Holding back a sigh, Kooh's eyes met those of a stranger looking back at her--a tall man with fiery red hair, offering her a smile and a nod before they were to pass by each other. At his side, Kooh couldn't help but notice a woman with dark hair that kept her attention forward. Why this man had decided to acknowledge her was beyond her, but she had seen stranger instances of unsolicited attention. With the interaction between herself and the knightly-looking boy still fresh in her mind, she wore a small smile of her own, as if she was grateful to the man for paying her any mind. She returned his nod as well, as soon they had passed by each other, allowing the blonde's expression to return to one of boredom.

Domarus was annoyed at best.  Frustrated at worst.  All of this towards Rhozarth.  The familiar's task was to locate and inform him of players of interest, not pull stunts off to lead them towards him.  It was unnatural and could arouse suspicion rather easily and quickly.  He would be teaching Rhozarth his mistake in a way that would keep him from disobeying him again.  Rhozarth responded well to shows of force and dominance.  He respected strength, but he had to be reminded from time to time who was the stronger one.  The player didn't really pay him any mind and he was glad.  If nothing else occurred, then there would be no more means to be suspicious, therefore keeping his reputation completely secured.  However with this encounter he decided to investigate the guild another day and instead shifted his direction a little bit so he would walk past the guild rather than towards it.  At this rate he believed he could get away from that situation.  What he didn't realize however, was that Keres had also gone rogue.  While the girl passed by, she slipped Domarus' pendent into the girl's pocket.  The pendent had his emblem on it so she would be able to track them, even if it was back to the shop.  She acted as if she knew nothing and once the girl was out of sight and hearing range she snickered.  This of course caught Domarus attention.  A shadow crept over his upper features as they walked.

"Keres...."  When Keres began to hum to a random tune he knew she did something.  He cursed in his head and wished the game allowed pain so he could make her regret her addiction to pain.  He was pretty sure he could do it too.  With the fact that the system wouldn't allow players to just die if they were attacked by a blade that would normally behead them, and other such features, he could inflict pain in ways no human could ever imagine.
