In the real world, Kion was not so much of a shy person, but one who simply tried to keep to himself rather than getting into any one else's business. 

Growing up in a smaller town located in Japan, Kion had two older siblings (a brother and a sister), and two younger siblings (also both a brother and a sister). Because of this, Kion never found himself getting really much attention from his parents. It always seemed like his other siblings hogged all the attention, and led to Kion spending lots of his days outside with one of the family dogs. The dog did not end up getting much attention from the other siblings as they all seemed to prefer one of the other two dogs, and in his own way, Kion felt him and the Siberian Husky dog were in the same boat.

When Sword Art Online came out, Kion knew he needed it. It was an escape from the world, a world that could be dark and cruel at times, a place where he could get away from his thoughts. Besides that, it was also the coolest thing Kion had ever heard of! Kion had loved video games very much all of his life, and spent almost every dime he made from his job at the local grocery store as a cashier. But he had always thought, how cool would it be to actually be inside a game???!

As soon as he heard of Sword Art Online, he saved all the money he possibly could, and waited in line for hours the night before it was released. Plugging it in the moment he got home, here Kion finds himself....

Observant. Kion is a rather quiet and shy-ish(on occasion) character. He usually would rather sit quietly and listen to other's stupidity than be in on the stupidity. This gives him an edge when he actually does want to know something-instead of actually having to ask someone for information, he could just steal the data from other's conversations.  

 

Persistent. Kion is not one to give up. He will do whatever he needs to do as long as he believes it will help him achieve the result he wants out of something. He knows that you don't simply get to where you want to be, it takes hard work, determination, wisdom, persistence, and a few more secret ingredients. A recipe that when mixed right will get you where you want to geo. 

 

Kind. Kion is a rather kind person, and is not one to be rude. [well, unless you're not being so nice to one of his friends] He is not afraid to stand up for the people who need to be stood up for. No matter what the threat. Sometimes people wonder if Kion is too kind though, and feel like this may end up getting Kion in some situations most people would prefer not to be in. His kindness can also help him make new friends, even if he does not want knew friends for fear of them dying. 

 

FLAWS:

Socially Awkward. Kion can be what you might call socially awkward sometimes. He has trouble talking to people face to face, and does not like crowds. At parties and social events, Kion is often the person sitting in the corner, staring from a distance. He wants to fix this, but Kion always ends up having some sort of fear of what could happen had he actually talked to someone at the party. Even scared he might embarrass himself. 

 

Gullible. As we said earlier, Kion is a very kind person. This sometimes will get him into some trouble. Kion may be tricked into doing unnecessary things for people, being entirely blind to whatever  there intentions may really be. Kion is one of those type of people that try to see the good in others, no matter how dark they may really be, even if he may not know he sees them like that.

 

Lonely. As kind as Kion is, he likes to be alone, where he knows he can't hurt anyone, and so he doesn't have to witness anyone of the people he is close to die in this game of death. He tries to keep people away from him, as to not get attached to someone else and then lose them, hence sending him solo on many missions which we all know is not good. Maybe in time Kion will eventually be able to overcome this fear.
