[PP-F2-NK] All In (Ruby, Telrenya, Spencer)

Recommended Posts

Telrenya spoke up, introducing the man as Spencer, and making sure to note that he had helped Telrenya after she got lost. The man began to piece two and two together, realizing that Spencer was most likely the reason Tel's health did not drop all the way. Jomei smiled at Spencer and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Thank you for saving her." his voice was soft when speaking to the young hero. Spencer went on to tell Jomei about what had happened, how he found the mansion empty, but all of a sudden the doors locked behind him, and everything started going wrong. Jomei scratched at his chin, wondering just why it locked him inside. Despite what had happened, and what still might happen to them, they all had the same goal in mind; getting the hell out of this house before it found a way to kill them all. Spencer said he was working on constructing a mental map, telling the group of all the rooms he had experienced, as well as the ones Telrenya told him her group had experienced. Jomei stepped past Ruby and Telrenya and into the hallway. He pointed at each of the doors, confirming Spencer's map. That left three more rooms on this floor, the one next to the study, the one next to the master bedroom, and the barred over door.

Jomei stepped back into the room, "Alright.. we need some sort of plan to get out of here. Downstairs I'm pretty sure there is one more room we didn't check. My guess is that its a kitchen, since it would be next to the dining room." Jomei gestured with his thumb back out the door. "Up here, there's the next door over, the one across that hall, and the one that we can't get into.. I'd prefer for us to not get separated again if possible.. And I have a good feeling about that door with the boards in front of it, but it won't let us in. I think maybe we should just check the rest of the rooms up here before going downstairs."

Stepping out of the room hoping the rest of the group would follow him, Jomei walked over to the room next to the one they were in. He was prepared for anything to come out and try and drag him in this time. Grabbing the bar on the oak door, he pulled it open... The room was dark, but illuminated enough from the light of the window to see what the bedroom contained. The walls had dark stains on them, as well as ones of similar color on the floor. All of the furniture in the room was knocked over or destroyed, save for the bed  in the center, which even the sheets on seemed untouched. However, it looked as though someone was currently laying in the bed, the thick blanket pulled up over their head. The bulge, that represented a body, had knives and swords sticking into it. Jomei's skin went pale, feeling sick to his stomach... and then the body moved. Jomei had never shut a door faster in his life. "Alright! H-How about to door across the hall!" Jomei said, his eyes wide, and his back pressing against the now shut door.

Telrenya let out a steady breath as the group got to formulating a plan of action. The woman had pulled herself together, opening her menus to extract a low-level healing potion from her inventory. While her health would have slowly climbed back to full over time, she didn't want to take any chances sitting in the yellow for however long that took. She downed the contents of the small glass bottle, allowing the empty container to break and vanish in her hands to signal its use.

As Jomei went on to match up Spencer's accounts of the mansion with their own and suggest they press on, the blonde tried her best to quell her fears that the previous events would repeat themselves. The last thing she wanted right now was for anyone else to be separated. She forced a small nod, though her expression was still uneasy. "I doubt it'll let us out if we just stand around..." She mumbled in defeat. Jomei stepped past the two women, prompting Telrenya to hurry after him for the fear that doors would start slamming shut on them once again. She took a moment to look over her shoulder and ensure the other two players were coming, and no more than seconds later she heard the all-too-familiar sound of a door slamming in Jomei's direction. The woman gave a start, her head whipping back and the sudden tension draining a bit when she saw the man's figure still ahead of them. The expression and paleness of his face, however, had her wondering just what on Earth could have been in that room.

With a shake of her head, she decided it best not to question anything in this mansion any more than absolutely necessary. Her shoulders fell an inch as the breath she had been holding left her lungs, and took a few hesitant steps to the door opposite Jomei. Taking in another breath to gather her courage, Telrenya twisted the knob to find it unlocked before slowing pulling it open. On the other side of the doorframe, a room nearly opposite of the one across the hall was laid out before them. A brightly-lit room decorated in pastel colors with stuffed animals piled in one corner and a toy chest in the next. Telrenya took half a step into the eerily staged bedroom, spotting a pair of twin-sized beds further in against the wall beside her. "Well...it looks empty?" She said in a small voice, unsure if she should venture any further.

Ruby didn't get much of a reaction with the kiss she had given her nor did Tel really say anything back to her words that she had exclaimed out which had brought out a grin upon her face, she had sighed, she didn't know what to expect really. Ruby had placed one of her hands, on her hips after hearing Jomei "Hold on there tiger, you expect me and us to go exploring some more even after seeing the things that already happened in this house? Telrenya almost died, and you think its a great idea to try to explore this hell hole? I'll pass." she had said turning her back "I'd rather go back to my bookcase where its safe thank you. I am not gonna get myself trapped in anything that could potentially kill me thank you very much." she then stepped out downstairs where her and Jomei walked up on and down the stairs again back to the main foyer area and proceed to sit back down on the bookcase she had brought down from being stood face up.

Spencer sighed a bit, looking at the three people in front of him, talking, kind of bickering, and just happy that they were all together. Spencer rubbed the back of his head, not sure exactly what to say. The girl, who Telrenya described as Ruby, decided to branch off from the rest and go back down to the main room. Spencer wasn't all too keen on leaving the group that had just formed, but if there was someone outside of these rooms that could help the three of them get out, he was okay with that.

He followed the group towards a room on the same wall that the master bedroom was on, another room that Jomei entered, but quickly slammed the door and shakily told the group they should move on. Spencer shuddered a bit, not really wanting to think of what could be happening in that room, or what could be in it. He gave another shaky sigh, the fear factor that they could actually die was really starting to set into his stomach.

The three, Jomei, Telrenya, and Spencer, entered into another room on the opposite side of the hallway. He crossed his fingers and slowly entered, but wasn't that scared when he actually got into the room. It looked like a room for children almost. "It's almost nice in here." He mumbled and walked around a bit, looking at the items littered in piles, and the bright room with colourful walls. "Children's bedroom I'm guessing?" He made a note of it while he walked around the room, adding it to his mental map of the place.

Ruby refused to let herself get into any more trouble with this mansion. The blonde haired woman stormed past Jomei and towards the stairs the two had used to venture up to the second floor. "Ruby.." he said, calling out to her, but she was already gone. Jomei frowned, feeling as though it was more to it that just her wanting to keep herself safe. He took a look over at Telrenya to see if she had any thoughts on the manner. In the meantime, the Irishman looked in through the newly opened door that Tel and Spencer had opened. It appeared to be a child's bedroom, the walls were adorned in bright colors with crayon drawing pinned to the walls. Dolls, stuffed animals, and other toys were littered across the floor, a parent's nightmare. The room seemed much more tame and normal than the rest, though Jomei had a much more uneven feeling about it than the rest. As the two others checked out the room, Jomei's ears perked when he heard a sound.. almost as if someone was whispering.

He turned his head to see if anyone was there, though the hallway was just as empty as it was moments before. As he went to return his attention to the children's bedroom, he caught glimpse of something strange. At the angle they stood, he could only see the corner of the barred door.. Only it was no longer barred. On the floor in front of the door were all the wooden planks used to keep them out. Not thinking to mention it to Telrenya or Spencer, Jomei slowly retreated from the kids' room and walked towards the one forbidden door. It looked the same as the rest, though as he got closer and closer, he began to feel cold. Even touching the doorknob brought a chill to his hand. The man took in a deep breath through his nostrils before turning the knob.

As he peaked inside, it was dark, pitch black even. He saw absolutely nothing.. but it felt familiar. A cold sweat began to form on his forehead, when he realized why it was familiar. It was the same darkness from the basement. Just like before when he went to open the basement door, about twelve shadowed arms grabbed at Jomei, but the man was quick enough to step back and avoid them. All of the arms grabbed onto the door frame, as if trying to pull itself out of a hole. The whispering Jomei heard slowly turned into screaming, the sounds of six different voices, all screaming. Louder and louder. In the same moment, like watching a train head right for him, he saw the head of the shadow monster. It was made up of ghostly skulls, all stuck together with their mouths agape. Jomei quickly ran back from the monster and towards the kid's room where Telrenya and Spencer were. "We need to go!" He yelled with a feared voice, grabbing Telrenya's hand and the arm of Spencer's shirt as he passed. He led the two down the stairs as quickly as he could. As he ran, he called down to Ruby, hoping she could head him. "Ruby! We need to hide!" Jomei did not look back, but he still felt cold, and he still heard the screaming.

The longer she stood inside of the children's bedroom, the more uneasy Telrenya began to feel. Her eyes trailed over the walls, sometimes darting back to a drawing pinned up on the wall after she could have sworn she saw the illustration begin to move. With all of the other surprises they'd found in each room thus far, she could only guess that something sinister was laying in wait for them.

The chill that seemed to carry in the air latched onto the woman's still-damp clothing, sending a shiver through her as it tickled her skin. 'Has it always been this cold...?' She thought absently, giving Spencer a sideways glance. Just as she was about to turn and ask Jomei if he had any ideas, the sound of his voice farther away than she expected left her puzzled. Soon after, his words and tone registered that something was very wrong. And before she could turn around to investigate, Jomei's form pulled them both from the room and carried them along towards the stairs. "Whoa!" The word left her in reaction, but her legs did their best not to impede their movement. Out in the hallway, the screams reached her ears and and sent yet another chill down her spine. "W-what happened?!" She didn't expect an answer as they hurried to meet up with the healer downstairs. 'More importantly, where are we running to?'

Ruby had looked over as she had heard a lot of movement from upstairs, Ruby could only assume that they had gotten into a bit of trouble. Ruby had stood up and moved over to the door and looked out to see that Jomei, Spencer, and Telrenya had been running down. Ruby had smiled and rolled her eyes as she had kept the door open waiting for them to run outside. Jomei had yelled out that they need to hide, however Ruby had a different idea in mind... sure, she didn't know what was following them, but when in doubt just block the way. Ruby had yelled out "Just go on, ill be fine!" then she closed the door and locked it, then she looked over to another bookcase and pushed it in front of the door as quickly as she could, then she had pressed her back against the bookcase and tried to keep whatever it is there, hopefully giving them enough time to find a way to get out of this hell hole. "Quite the house you've won Jomei, quite the house..." she had said out to herself keeping this bookcase in place.

Spencer was a little more than startled when Jomei ran into the room him and Telrenya were investigating. Also was more that startled when Jomei dragged the two out of the room and down the stairs, back into the main room. He gasped for breath as all four of them were now in the main room, trying to get away from whatever was in that room that Jomei saw. "What. Is. Going. On." He said between pants, his hands on his knees as he bent over to catch his breath.

Spencer looked up to Ruby, the girl was offering to block the door so the other three could get out." Listen, I know I don't know you at all, and we are all kind of freaked out right now, but I think we all agree to not just leave someone behind to get out." He shook his head and looked around the Foyer. "I'm guessing we have to defeat that thing in order to get out of here, its like it controls the house or something, but maybe we can outsmart it?" He shrugged and looked at the group, hoping someone has an idea to save them.

As the group came around the last circle of the staircase, the door in front of them opened back to the main hallway, Ruby standing on the other side. Once they were through, Ruby locked the door and blocked the door with her body. Seconds later the monster seemed to slam into the door, making the oak door that Ruby was leaning against jolt and rattle. Jomei began to pace back and forth, a panicked look on his face. He brought both of his hands up to his forehead, pushing his hair out of his face and holding it above his head for a moment, both of his eyes visible for a moment. His facial expression had not changed from earlier, the image of that.. thing burned into his skull, petrifying him. The only thing that caused his feet to move out from under his body was the thought of saving the others. He opened his mouth to speak, but only air came out, as if he was trying to force words. All thoughts escaped his mind, except seeing its face, and hearing the screams. The hair on the back of his neck stood up as his blood ran cold, and skin went pale. The green in his eyes had been replaced with a ghostly blue aura. The effects of the shadow's gaze had taken a hold of Jomei. While his back faced the group, his arms fell to his sides, his hair falling back in front of his face. The man stared forward, almost lifelessly, shivering uncontrollably.

Telrenya was panting almost as much as Spencer once the trio had reached the bottom of the stairs. Ruby was quick to seal their entrance, going so far as to barricade the door leading to the staircase with a huge bookcase. When whatever it was on the other side rammed into the blocked doorway, Telrenya gave another small start and had to start over with catching her breath. "Y-yeah Ruby..." She echoed Spencer's concern while her breathing began to steady. "We're not going anywhere if that thing might grab you." She frowned, still unsure what the 'thing' was. It sounded powerful, the way it banged against the door, and the unsettling sound caused her to avert her eyes to the ground as her mind raced with thoughts. It was only a guess that defeating the thing chasing them would be their ticket to freedom, but they didn't exactly have any other leads to go on. Letting out a long, somewhat steady breath, Telrenya turned her attention to the ginger that had taken to pacing over the length of the foyer.

"What do you think, Jo--" She stopped herself once she noticed his movement had stopped. She hesitantly took a few steps closer to the ginger, leaning her body to try and catch a glimpse of the man's face. "Hey, are you okay...?" She asked in a quiet voice. It only took a few paces for the woman to circle around him, and her expression showed more concern the closer she came. Her words seemed to have passed through him, and she could see him shaking as he stood in place. Telrenya's hands reached forward and she grasped his arms, ignoring the icy cold that seemed to emanate from him as she jostled the man slightly. "Jomei? Jomei!" She repeated his name, raising her voice in desperation while she stared up at him.

Ruby had kept the monster in that room for a while, looking over to the three she had just stood there wanting to stay here, she had gained an angered look and yelled out to them "Don't be dumb, get outta here. If I die that should be the least of your worries. I'll keep him here." and after a few moments, the rumbling had stopped, Ruby had looked back and heard the monster so it should still be around. Ruby had looked over back towards Telrenya that had been calling out Jomei's name for a while, she rolled her eyes "Some house you've one, looks like it took your soul too. F%$# this." she had then opened her inventory and pulled out a metallic material and a flint material along with one of her vanity potions, and she opened the bottle using her mouth and using the flint and steel she had struck a spark into the bottle making a molotov type deal. Ruby had growled and slammed the bookcase on the ground and slammed the door open "Eat this!" and she threw it on the ground where the monster stood creating a fire around it. Moving back she ran towards Jomei and slapped him "No time to waste, come on wake up."

Spencer's mind was going a mile a minute. He was never someone who could think of a plan and get out of a sticky situation, but today, for some odd reason, he was. Ruby made a molotov cocktail out of a potion and flint and steel, throwing it at the beast and setting it on fire. Spencer gasped and jumped back, almost knocking into Jomei, Ruby, and Tel. He started to look around, trying to think of a way out, then it hit him. "Wait, the building is going to burn down." He turned to the other three people with fear in his eyes. "The Building is going to burn down!" He almost yelled and looked at the burning beast, it was slowly crawling from the burning stairway, its arms scraping against the hardwood floor, making the nails on chalkboard sound.

"We don't have much time, we need to trap that thing and get out." He started to pace, the monster still very very slowly crawling out, more of its body showing. Spencer looked around and saw the arrow from earlier sticking into the wall, then he got and idea. "Guys!" He yelled to drown out the fire and the monster, the fire slowly starting to spread. "When I went into the dining room, the ceiling started to come down to crush me, if we get through that and lure the monster into the room, it would also be crushed. If it really was controlling this house, it sure isn't not being on fire and all." He started to run towards the dinning room, and sure enough the door opened and the door to the living room was back, just like it was before. "Okay, we need to wait till the monster is close enough to chase us into the room and still get crushed, then we run to the living room and it dies." He smiled to himself and backed towards the wall, next to the Dining room.

Everything had gone dark, everything but the face of the shadow monster staring at him, holding him as its hostage. The screaming had stopped, but all other sounds around Jomei had been muffled out. Even within the man's own mind, he was a prisoner. Suddenly, the monster in Jomei's mind became engulfed in flames. The ghastly figure scurried backwards as it screamed, this time in pain. As it sunk into the ground, his senses began returning to him. He felt warmth on his arms as his body was being shaken back and forth, followed by something being called out, over and over. As his hearing began to return, he recognized it as his own name. His vision, which was one completely blackened, was adjusting as if going from a place of complete darkness, to looking at the sun. As the white light faded, just as the green in his eyes returned, he saw a blurry image of Telrenya. He blinked a few times and looked at the woman "Te-" He was not even able to get out the first syllable of her name before Ruby stepped into his field of vision on his right with her arm pulled back. Her open palm shot forward, her open palm slapping Jomei across the face. The palm strike from the Martial Artist was enough to push Jomei back a bit, spinning his body away from the two.

"Jeez.." Jomei said as he began to stand up straight, the rest of his senses returning to normal. The last sense to return was his sense of smell, which was now taking in an entirely new aroma that had not been present before; smoke. In front oh him in the doorway they stood, was the shadow beast, screaming, and on fire. "W-what the hell?" Jomei said, taken aback. As he took in the whole situation that was happening, Spencer took the initiative and came up with a plan to finish off the monster for good. One of the traps he encountered was a falling ceiling in the dining room next to them. He believed they could trap the monster there, crushing it. Jomei nodded, "Ye-yeah. That sounds like a good idea." he shook his head, still clearing everything up.

Jomei watched as the monster engulfed some of the flames and began to walk forward, this time making sure to avoid direct eye contact with its ghastly skull face. "Alright, you guys get ready to run straight across.. I'll draw the monster into the room and make sure it stays there long enough to get crushed." He smirked, "Don't worry, I'm fast enough to be able to make it to you guys without getting killed.. Now go!" He pulled his rapier off of his hip and held it in front of him, simply poking at the monsters body to slow it down and keep it from running past him and at the others.

Telrenya could feel the heat from the fast-spreading fire against her skin. The shouts of her companions reached her ears, but her eyes were fixated on the Irishman, searching for the life that had left his eyes. It wasn't until Ruby stepped up behind her and struck the man's face that Telrenya gave a small start. Really, she shouldn't be surprised at the woman's blunt solutions, but with everything happening at once she was only thankful that Jomei seemed to have regained himself. She breathed a heavy sigh of relief before the weight of the situation came crashing down on her again.

Trying to keep her head on straight, she simply nodded along with Jomei's instruction. The woman gravitated towards Ruby and Spencer, backing up slowly until she was beside them at the dining room's entrance. "R-ready...?" She asked in a voice that just barely surpassed the roar of the flames and screams of the monster. All at once, the players dashed through the dining room, with Jomei to bring up the rear and bait the monster along. Telrenya tensed when the lurching sound of the ceiling echoed overhead.

Ruby had shook Jomei till he eventually gained consciousness of himself then pushed him a moment "Glad you are back with us easy to trick." she looked over to the monster which had caught fire step out and meet eye contact with Jomei. He had exclaimed out to leave him and get out of here as he could be fast enough to stop and crush the beast, Ruby had shook her head "Not happening captain, you either have me along with it or all four of us killing this thing. You're not doing this alone." Ruby had looked back to Spencer and said out to him "Make sure she gets out safely, we'll talk more in depth with you later." she had turned her back on him and looked towards the monster in flames and walked towards it to Jomei "I've got a separate plan winner of a death trap, how about I distract this thing, you work on getting the poor thing crushed. You with me?" she had looked towards Jomei with a smile.

Spencer almost smiled, the group could actually get out of this place alive and in one piece, other than the  beast of course. Telrenya already ran ahead of them, running to the living room while the ceiling started to come down on them. Spencer was next, darting around the table, making sure the ceiling is still high enough so that the other two could get through without a major issue. What Ruby said about keeping Telrenya safe rung in his head and he nodded to her from the living room, turning to Telrenya. "Come on, let's find a way out of here so we can get them out." He said and bolted up the stairs. The was starting to burn on the study, the glass from the chandelier that fell only minutes ago was starting to melt and puddle on the floor. "S*it! The fire is spreading fast." He gasped and backed up against the wall, the water in the Master bedroom unfortunately not running any more to help stop the fire.

"Okay.. If I was an exist, I would be something that no one would think of doing... Like jumping? But there is no exit, but is there a way off of this floor? Wait... Window?" He turned to Telrenya and gestured her to follow him down the hallway to the window. When he got there, he looked desperately for a latch to open it, the drop to the ground wasn't that far down, they could make it. He sighed and stood up, no way to open the window. "Stand back." He said and got his mace out, slamming it into the glass. The glass splintered and cracked throughout the frame. He covered his face and slammed into the window one more time. The glass shattered and fell to the floor and the ground below, there was finally an exit out of this house. "Now we wait for the other." He said, still going to keep his promise to Ruby if it got to that.

Just as Jomei expected from the brave, yet stubborn woman, Ruby was not letting Jomei get all of the joy out of killing the shadow that haunted them. Due to the fact that the monster was moving in on their position, the ceiling was falling, and now the house was burning down, he had no time to argue. "R-Ruby what're you.." Jomei quickly said as he deflected one of the long appendages that came out and tried to grab at the blonde woman who stayed behind. Her idea was to act as a distraction to the monster, while Jomei would work on making sure it was crushed by the ceiling. Jomei tried to grasp her plan, looking at the fire quickly spreading on one side, and the ceiling quickly falling on the other. With Ruby's idea, one of them would be left behind to find a way to escape with the fire. Jomei looked back and forth between all of the dangers, before resorting to his original plan. "Gah, [censored] it!" he yelled, dealing one strong attack to the shadow's chest, causing it to stagger back. Before it had a chance to recover and follow them forward, Jomei turned into Ruby, lowering his body and grabbing the woman's legs, holding her over his shoulder. Using his speed from his <Sprint> skill, as well as his maxed out <Charge> skill, Jomei took off at full speed through the dining room, the ceiling just inches above their heads. jomei heard the monster screech and charge after them, plowing through the set table as if it were made of paper. "Dammit dammit dammit!" Jomei cursed to himself, trying to lower himself as much as possible. He then lowered the woman off of his shoulder and held her in an embrace as tight as he could, before dropping to his back and letting his body slide through the open doorway of the living room. The ceiling crashed into the ground behind them, a plethora of dark shard-like crystals being pushed out like air behind Jomei and Ruby with the shadow monster's destruction.

Jomei quickly got up, helping Ruby up as well. The fire had already began spreading on the far side of this room. He smirked at the blonde, "Good on you for not letting me take that one alone, but neither of us were getting left behind back there. C'mon, I think they ran upstairs." Jomei led the way up the stairs to see Spencer bash his shoulder into a window, knocking the glass out. Jomei chuckled, "We better not have been able to do that before.. Jump!" Jomei yelled out as he began to run towards the window. The fire around them spreading, causing pieces of the house to fall apart.

Telrenya followed Spencer's instruction without fuss, hurrying up the stiars after him. The heat around them was rising, and Telrenya found herself casting nervous glances over her shoulder in the direction of the stairs they had climbed. Spencer's command snapped her back to attention, and the girl blinked as he drew the mace that had been hanging at his waist. She opened her mouth to question him before quickly deciding against it, taking a couple of strides back just before the man struck the large window panes with his weapon. She blinked in surprise, the plan of action now laying clearly before her, and her stomach soon twisted at the thought of escaping through the second floor's window. Still, it was the only option they seemed to have.

Spencer was thankfully intent on waiting for the other two players to meet them before making a jump for it, and once the sound of Jomei's voice from down the hall reached her ears she felt a wave of relief wash over her, a second following shortly thereafter when she saw the familiar blonde alongside him. She swallowed at Jomei's command, following Spencer's lead and running through the now-open window towards the grassy floor below.

It had seemed that Jomei had gotten a little annoyed with her decision to stick around, however Ruby wasn't a huge fan of Jomei then picking her up like this she had gained a angered look and said out to him in a yell "I have my own legs you know?" she had given up eventually and just waited for the experience to be over, eventually her and Jomei had gotten to a point however they had gotten to an embraced trying to get to another room. Ruby had smiled and said out "I aint interested in you like that Jomei just FYI." she had chuckled. Eventually they had made their way upstairs and Ruby had taken a deep breath and jumped out the window. However something peculiar happened... as she landed on the ground she became lightheaded and she fell to the ground, she sat on the ground placing a hand on her head, looking outward she had saw Telrenya and Spencer very faintly however in the background behind trees stood a hooded figure moving its hands, she squinted she tried to understand what the man had been signing... all she could see was:

"dNYUPF8.png"

Afterwards the figure placed his hand over his mask and disappeared in the darkness, not to be found. Not even if they could try. She tried to make sense of what she had seen.. however eventually she just groaned and shook her head.

Spencer had just broken the window when he saw Jomei and Ruby bolting past them, jumping out the now clear window. "Okay thank god for that." He almost laughed and looked back at Telrenya. He sighed and gave one last look at the house, then turned around and jumped out the window. While he was free falling for a hot second he looked at the three people, happy he met them, surprised he met them, scarred that he was free falling out a second story window, and relieved for this to be finally over. He laid on the ground and gave a big sigh of relief, his body exhausted from everything that happened. He felt slightly light headed from the adrenaline and all the action that recently happened, and the fear that was coursing through his veins. Well... That just happened... He thought to himself and groaned, slowly trying to sit up.

Took some effort, but Spencer was able to sit up and turn to face the burning building, smoke, ashes, and ember falling down to the earth in front of him, and flying into the sky above. While he moved, a weird squeaking sound can be heard from his pocket. He looks down confused and pulls out the Rubber Ducky that he took from the master bathroom. He almost bursts out laughing and puts it in his inventory. That could be a toy for my familiar, holding on to that one for sure. He looked at the other players and tried to think of something to break the silence, other than the panting and crackling of the fire. "So... Anyone bring any marshmallows?" He wanted to facepalm as soon as he said it, the joke dumb and un needed.
