[BR-F21] Paving the Way to Floor 22 (Floor 21 Boss Battle - Tesseleth the Tyrant)

Recommended Posts

Morgenstern, the blond tank stood and watched helplessly as the battle raged on. From another point in the battle, The fearsome dragon flicked its tail sending a spike that struck Shield in the chest. Slowly, a crystal formed around the man, rendering movement. The mechanics behind it intrigued the tank, but wasn't truly a hindrance to them so far. Shield still was doing his job as a tank, and would continue to take hits. Meanwhile, Jonathan couldn't hit a giant dragon. He sighed, taking his eyes off Shield and shifting them to the dragon who was... not there anymore. His eyes frantically searched the area until he found it was retreating to a perch, to watch them. 'Wait... when were the next set of knights released? I need to pay more attention!' He shifted his focus to one of the nearby knights, focusing his eyes, and trying to calm himself a little bit. His heart was beating quickly from his constant movement and awareness of the things that were around him. He was about to charge a knight, but a stalactite had caught him in the shoulder. It cut through his armor, making a large gash in it and his armor. A sprout of numbness shot up his arm. It would be fire if it wasn't for the pain absorbers. His shield arm had become much hard to move though. He had also taken a large sum of damage.

"DAMN IT!" He would shout. This entire boss fight was most annoying. He hadn't managed to make a hit on the second biggest thing he had ever faced. He stormed forward, his sword violently gleaming. "STOP MAKING A FOOL OF ME YOU STUPID DRAGON!" His eyes were full of hatred as he chagred forward.

As he neared the dragon, he guessed the beast hadn't given him a thought. He had failed to hit so far, so it shouldn't care about him. With his anger to drive him, the frozen and paralyzed dragon was not going to make him miss. Not this time. He attacked the front legs, as the wings were folded back and away from him. He struck with three glancing blows before he moved into his attack, his normally tight tanking position becoming a nimble an powerful attack at all different angles. He backed away, a gleeful laugh could be heard. "There we go!" He had no idea if he had actually done something or not.

Dragon Fire (AoE Attack) : CD 11-12: Deals 100 unmitigatable damage and sets the active party's main and 3 secondary targets on fire, dealing 50 Burn DOT3. OOC: Ruby takes 100 damage from not posting

The players of the second group were able to take full advantage of Tesseleth and his minions after most of them were stunned. Two of the knights froze in place, their obsidian boots stuck to the ground by blocks of ice that grew up to their shins. Tesseleth experienced the same freezing sensation, the cold causing his muscles to hold him in place, keeping him from being able to attack. The single knight that was still freed managed to rush at the players, yet with a single swing of his sword, he missed his target by a long shot. Anger began to rise in the boss again as he let out a loud roar, overcoming the cold and freeing himself from the paralock. The two knights felt motivated as well, breaking free of their invisible chains, their eyes all turning on the third group.

Battle Dice: 6 (Accuracy +3) = 9
Sword Art: All Might (17 Energy Used / 1 Recovered / 92 Remaining)
(18x15) - 135 = 135 DMG to Tesseleth

The previous blow that the massive dragon dealt to the bluenette was something he made note of, not so much for the damage itself, but the fact that Tesseleth was still more than capable of landing a shot on him. It was plain to tell from the course of the battle that this creature wasn't agile, but made up for it with accurate strikes to make sure that majority of its attacks landed, "Kind of reminds me of Dom's build back when he was alive, sacrificing Evasion for consistency and damage. Guess he really did live up to his Dreadnaught nickname."

However, this battle was far from over, as the other two teams darted in, some of them meeting more unfortunately responses to their attacks. Still, none of them had reached a particularly dangerous level at this point of the battle, from what Calrex could tell. Even so, it wasn't like he was going to be able to do anything about it, since the restrictions of the game prevented him from doing so.

Glancing over the Ultramarine Knight could already tell that Macradon was getting ready to act upon his previous suggestion, his dark blue eyes focusing on the dragon once again. Closing his right hand into a fist the gauntlet lit up with the shining blue aura of <<All Might>> once again. Squeezing his fingers even tighter to his palm Calrex shot forward, guided by the assisted system as his body shot upwards, bringing him up to Tesseleth's face before unleashing another powerful punch to the creature's jaw, "Same side too...geezes that's gonna leave a mark."

As the Dual Wielding “hero” fled from the battle, everyone present was sure that this Life_Subtractor was naught to be feared of, ever. The only thing people should be scared of was that he would offer help and then flee because his strength was much lower than advertised. Macradon wouldn’t do much else than sigh in relief that the pest was gone, he had only heard bad about this guy, and having him gone was probably for the good. “Aye, let’s take care of them, our way” he replied to Cal after Dual_Wielder had left the battle. Nodding towards the Ultramarine Knight, Macradon would prepare his <Calamity Disaster> AOE <Sword Art> and would aim towards taking down a Dragon Knight or two, as well as chipping away some of Tesseleth’s health. As he charge forward with his sword in position, his greatsword would glow in an iridescent shine as he executed the sword art, cleaving through all three of the Dragon Knights, but not reaching Tesseleth. His attacks were heavy but clean and precise, taking out one of the knights, paralyzing another and damaging the last, a good setup for Team 1 to take care.

Tesseleth was beginning to feel toyed with.. that these puny pests were underestimating the true might of the Tyrant. Their actions angered them, and they would pay for rising up to oppose his vice grip on this floor. The dragon's thick, black claws dug into the floor of the cavern, causing the stone to crack and web out from where the obsidian claws dug down. With smoke billowing from the sides of his mouth, the dragon's head extended forward, its body seeming to elongate as it led out an ear piercing roar, causing the entire battlefield to rumble, and shake the players to the bone.

As if in response to Tesseleth's mighty roar, the blue armored player rushed forward with no weapon but his fist, donned in a matching gauntlet. Tesseleth soon felt the might of a single punch to the side of his jaw, nearly knocking him to his side. But the dragon held strong, and quickly whipped its head back around to watch as the second remaining player in the ground cut into all three of his armored knights, paralyzing one, damaging a second, and killing a third. Despite being the smallest of the three raid parties, this last group had proved to pester him the most.. and that both players needed to perish.

With a deep inhale through his nostrils, Tesseleth lowered his head to the two players again, releasing a stream of vicious flames. One of the players, Calrex, seemed to just barely dodge the attack, while the second became engulfed in the dragon's fire breath. As the flames faded, the single knight who remained mostly unscathed remained back, not wanting himself to become engulfed in the fierce flames by trying to attack one of the players.

Boss Room Info: The boss room is a large cavern, with many earthen columns, stalactites, and stalagmites. Littered throughout the room are crystallized warriors who seem to be frozen in place... and time. Some of the ones that remained intact inside the crystals wore solemn and determined expressions while others showed fear and agony as though they have seen pure hell in their last moments. They wore different types armors and weapons but most of the ones inside the crystals in relatively good condition, wore long dark colored capes.

Several shallow pools of clear water lay scattered throughout the cave, they resemble dark spots in the ground, reflecting what awaits above. The ceiling of the cave is high and obscured by darkness, preventing players from seeing the top. Up there ,on a large perch, stands a large winged creature watching down over this desolated domain of darkness. A dragon engulfed in obsidian scales and mists notices movement and noises below. It lets out a loud high pitched warning roar towards all that try to trespass into his capital lands.

Dragon Fire (AoE Attack) : CD 11-12: Deals 100 unmitigatable damage and sets the active party's main and 3 secondary targets on fire, dealing 50 Burn DOT3. Players may jump into one of the 15 pools of clear water that are scattered around the room and cancel the DOT3; it takes one post action and after usage, a pool shrivels up and disappears.

The rest of the parties seemed to do their work, cutting down the Dragon Knights health while some made sure to not let Tesseleth get away without taking any damage. It seemed like now everyone was starting to work together as a team, working to chip away their enemies health bit by bit. With Macradon wiping out one of the Dragon Knights, that left only two left, each with health just under the half way mark. "Keep working as a team!" Jomei shouted to all the other members of the raid group. "We should have these knights wiped out in no time! Once they are gone, focus all efforts on taking down this dragon! We are almost there!"

Jomei knew his own health and energy were waning a bit, more so the latter, but he knew he would be able to press on for the time being. He worried that he would exhaust his energy before the fights end..Which was why these Dragon Knights turned out to be a huge pain in his ass. With eyes locked to the soulless helmet of the para-locked Knight, the ginger rushed forward with his Charge skill, using the quick motion to propel forward a powerful jab with his rapier. The Emerald Duelist followed up with multiple other slashes and stabs, knocking the Dragon Knight farther and farther back with each hit. Once Jomei's attack was finished, the minion's health was left in the red, making him an easy target for one of the other members of his party. "Zan, Hirru! Hit them as hard as you can!"

With the first of the three knights dead and the others below half health, and with the boss finally down to his last health bar to boot, Shield finally felt like the fight was in hand. He let out a cry of focused triumph, punching at the air with his sword hand.

"We've got them on the ropes!" he called out. "Don't drop your guard, team! We're not truly in the clear until those dragon knights are dead!"

With that, he pointed the tip of his sword at the ground and clenched his teeth, focusing his energy pool just beyond the point. When the speck of light had grown to a sphere, Shield nodded his approval and tossed the energy to Beat, still the lowest energy player on the field.

He and I need to have a talk about the cost and benefits of his martial arts skill...

As the energy hit, the blue gauge ticked up a hair beyond its nearly empty state. It wasn't much, but it was enough to keep fighting and maintain the pressure on the boss. As he went to return his eyes to the knights before him, he saw a flick out of the corner of his eye and recognized the scaly tail of Lilith whipping back and froth from inside of his collar.

"Go, Lilith," he growled to her, and out of his collar, her colorful head reared up and gaped its mouth. She sank her teeth into the vein below his ear, which momentarily bulged before his own health gauge surged back up closer to full than it had been most of the battle. "I think you should be good for the fight, girl. Unless something crazy happens, we should have that thing down by the time you're recovered!"

The end was nearly in sight for the first boss of the new tier.  Barely a couple minutes had passed and they had already destroyed one of the last three knights.  Tesseleth was on its last legs, and they would all be going into the 22nd floor.  A whole new floor to explore and dominate.  The future was near, but they still needed to finish this.

Jomei and Shield did their part.  Which made it clear to the hunter what he needed to do next.  The first knight was nearly dead, and the hunter thought that he could easily take out the last amount of health, or enough so that Zandra could AOE it to death.  With that thought in mind, the hunter reared up before jumping in where Jomei once stood.  Targeting the weakened knight, the hunter charged into it for the strike.

"Care to dance?"

The hunter called out before making the initial shoulder strike that would follow the rest of the heavy combo for the one handed straight sword.  By the end of it, the Dragon Knight's health shattered before him before the sword art was finished.  Jumping back to the group, the hunter smiled.

"Knights of dragons killed by knights of blood.  Nearly poetic, huh?"

He would say before looking over to Zandra.

Tesseleth Abilities:

First Attack: Tesseleth’s first attack against the first active party will be Dragon Fire. If he is dropped below 75% health in the first round, he will use Dragon Fire, and THEN do his HP related move set.

Slash (Basic Attack): CD 1-7:  Deals 350 Mitigable Damage with it’s claws and/or mouth, to its main target.

Crystallize (Special Attack): CD 8-10, Tesseleth shoots a crystal spine at the active party's main target. The player becomes encapsulated in crystal (paralyzed) and loses 2 hate.  The player remains paralyzed until 100 Damage is dealt to the crystal in order to free him. Tesseleth then immediately performs a (Basic attack) aimed at the non-crystallized main target.

HP Related Moves : When Tesseleth loses 25% of it’s health (It has 4 Health Bars) it revives crystallized knights which attack after the next party. The dragon flies up to its perch where it can't be attacked. On its next turn, the dragon releases a (Party AoE Attack) against the active party then drops down where it can be attacked again.

It will then return to attacking the player with the highest hate against the knight.

A the battle had kept.on once again. Each party have attacked the dragon knights with full force, or should have. "What are you doing?" she said a little louder then intended."I thougth you was all veteran gamers. But you dont know that you should first take out the dps, especially when its the easiest target to kill." she sigh and lowered her voice. "Is this just a team of noobs Ive got to beeen teamed up with. at least her own party followed the unwritten rules.

When it was their turn again the other players gave encouraging speches. Zandra looked at them with a look on her face saying:"Really guys? That is so lame. Isnt it obvious?" but then she remembered that the other teams, well the second team at least, was built up noobs. So maybe wasnt such about idea to hold a speech.

Well well, she thougth and shrugged before analysing the situation. Hirru wanted her to try hit both dragon and knight with an aoe. But Zandra thought the distance between the mobs was too big. Also, that would reduce her health to making her unable to do anything more. Maybe one more action. But she could do something that wouldnt take energy.

Zandra held her axe in a one hand gripped and materialised the amphibian war rally. This would give her party an extra round of safety. The berserk healer inhaled as much air she could, then she exhaled in the horn. A loud sound echoed thru the whole room, way louder then the small horn should have. When the sound had died out,it leaved both ememies paralysed.

The players of the first group seemed to completely ignore the towering dragon that loomed in front of them, focusing all of their attacks on his obsidian armored minions. Their actions proved to not be in vain, as a second of the knights fell to their attacks, leaving one final knight to stand between the players and Tesseleth. Both the dragon and the knight began to move forward to unleash their assault on the players, when the sound of a loud horn shook the two to the bone. Tesseleth's piercing red eyes scanned the battlefield for the source, spotting the heavily armored noirette, blowing into a horn. The booming sound of the war rallying instrument caused both Tesseleth and the knight to freeze in place, the dragon growling in anger that he was being toyed with yet again.

Hikoru watched as the rest of the parties attacked the dragon and the knights, two of the knights falling before his turn again. Zandra spoke a few words as to talk about fighting the DPS before the creature. He just shot her a glance as he charged at the Dragon Knight, hitting him with another strong attack and dealing a large chunk of an attack. He backflipped and landed a few feet closer to Zandra than he had been previously

"Said the one who stood with fear at the beginning of this fight, and then just blowing a horn instead of bringing the dragon knights health down to where I would have finished it off just now." He said coldly. "People should not speak of things that they can't do themselves. Practice what you preach Berserk, or else you don't deserve that title." He said, then returned to his team, keeping an eye onto what the Dragon Knight and Tesseleth himself were up to. He noticed that his energy was starting to run low. He looked at Ruby and Shield. "If either of you could spare some energy, that'd be most helpful. I'm starting to run low." He then resumed a fighting stance, preparing for the next strike.

The past few moments had seemed to be a blur as Ruby had stood still, frozen in time it had seemed. Everything had appeared to be in slow motion and she had appeared to not be able to move, everything had sounded muffled as the battle had progressed, however nothing had seemed to break her out of this trance. However after a moment the battle had struck back into her system and she had gotten a hold of herself, she had looked around and saw her team mates starting to get damaged pretty severely, then she had looked over to Jomei and saw he had been taking a beating as well, however it didn't look like he wasn't getting any attention what so ever, Ruby had a decision to make, she pondered whether or not she should heal the leader of her guild or her entire party including herself. But eventually she had shook her head and went with the decision that 5 is greater than one.

Reaver : CD 6-10, the Knight uses charges towards first secondary target against itself or the boss (whichever it isn’t currently attacking) and activates the Reaver sword art, dealing 350 damage and stunning the target. It will then return to attacking the player with the highest hate against the knight.

Whirlwind : CD 11-12 the Knight uses the Whirlwind sword art to attack 4 secondary targets from the main target's party, for 275 each.

Beat smiled at the state of the battle, pleased that they only had one more Dragon Knight left, who was on its last leg to boot. Beat snagged the incoming energy from and gave him a quick nod in appreciation, as he looked up to his HUD and frowned. With Shield constantly feeding him energy, he was not going to be able to do his job as effectively. Beat flipped open his battle ready inventory and performed the finger strokes without taking his eyes off of the battlefield. The hours of practice with the interface to maximize efficiency were showing now as he retrieved a chocolate power bar from his inventory and quickly eat it, his energy bar shooting up as much as it did when Shield tossed him one of those orbs.

"I'm recharging really quick! Let's get that knight down or at least stun the boss!" He shouted, letting his team know that he would not be stunning the boss as he had been. If the flow of battle continued as it had, he knew one last big shot from him could make all the difference. Plus, with Ruby being able to heal and remove status effects, Beat was sure they would be alright for a few moments.

Itzal watched as the dragon knights slowly shattered until there was one left.  Itzal wouldn't be able to do much to that one, but he would still be able to deal enough to matter...  Somewhat.  He watched Hikoru rush in and take on the knight.  Ruby used her healing ability on them, restoring their health some, and Itzal smiled.  The beauty of having a healer and supporter on your party was that your chances of dying decreased a great amount.  The dragon knight's health was at three hundred and a half or so.  Itzal was willing to bet he could knock that health down into two hundred at maximum, which should be enough for Macradon to take out.  Unfortunately the player with the dual wielding lost his swords and therefore copped out.  He had heard Jomei roar at him, but if a player's weapons shatter what more can you do?  Itzal was willing to bet that no one had spare weapons on them, and he probably had no support items or skills, let alone tanking skills.  Yelling did nothing to help.  Itzal charged up his sword art and rushed at the knigt, releasing Meteor strike and dealing one hundred and forty one points of damage.  Well he didn't deal enough to drop it to two hundred precisely, but it was a good jump there.  Two hundred and twenty three health remaining.

Morgenstern takes 100 damage for not posting in 72 hours

With the second group's attacks now out of the way, Tesseleth and his last remaining minion still stood strong. Now free of the paralytic prison, each of their eyes locked on Morgenstern, who seemed a bit shaken to move as the rest of his group attacked. This would prove to be the puny players downfall. The knight moved first, rushing at the armored player with its large sword at the ready. Once in range, a singe slash of his sword left a large gash through the armor at his chest. Tesseleth was not far behind, opening its mouth up wide and clenching his teeth around the player, tossing him to the side. The large dragon flinched, for biting down on Morgenstern's armor seemed to be a bit more painful than he had expected. Letting out a low growl, the beast slowly stepped backwards, piercing red eyes shifting to the smallest of the groups.

Macradon smiled behind the visor of his white helmet. It was going great, his damage output wasn’t great, so he would keep himself in a tanking support role that would setup for everyone else. With status Conditions being what he was able to do right now, Macradon would run around the great paralyzed dragon that had taken a good bite at Morgenstern. With the dragon in one place, Macradon would only angle it towards the last Dragon Knight. With his sword over his shoulder, Macradon would rush in and bash his pommel right into the head of the dragon, leaving a shock wave of energy flow through and hit the Dragon Knight on the other side of the great dragon’s head as well. His damage we minor, not that relevant, but the effect his <Tempest> sword art brought with it was worth the energy consumed by the attack. “Alright, Calrex, go for it!” he roared out throughout his helmet.

Several shallow pools of clear water lay scattered throughout the cave, they resemble dark spots in the ground, reflecting what awaits above. The ceiling of the cave is high and obscured by darkness, preventing players from seeing the top. It lets out a loud high pitched warning roar towards all that try to trespass into his capital lands.

Battle Dice: 4 (Accuracy +3) = 7
Sword Art: All Might (17 Energy Used / 1 Recovered / 76 Remaining)
(18x15) - 90 = 180 DMG to Dragon Knight

The enemy numbers were dwindling as two of the three remaining knights was destroyed with another barrage from the two larger teams. They were gaining momentum again, enough to make one more push to hopefully drop this floor boss for good. Calrex gave a small sigh as his eyes calmly scanned the battlefield, watching various players taking their opportunities to rush in and strike before stepping back, like waves on a beach that crash against a rock. With every wash over the stone, it would eventually wear down and break. This was no different.

Macradon rushed forward, buying them an opening they had not been granted for at least a few rotations, a round of stunned monsters. While the Ultramarine Knight had initially continued the assault on the massive dragon that was Tesseleth the Tyrant, that was not the case for his current moment. The final knight's health had dropped to critical levels, enough that he thought he could finish it off so that the other teams could focus all of their attacks towards the boss, "Alright, targeting the knight then. This one's going down."

Clenching his right hand into a fist <<All Might>> surrounded the striking limb, causing it to glow ablaze with light blue energy. Like his arm had turned into a flaming turbine the gauntlet's forearm opening released small shining blue particles like an afterburner. Rushing forward the bluenette let his body be carried by the assisted system before driving his punch into the knight's helm, feeling and hearing the metal collapse before it completely caved in, the structural integrity of the protective armor suffering catastrophic failure as it was knocked away before bursting into crystals.

Sliding to a stop Calrex gave a small exhale as he looked towards their remaining foe, ready for act again on a moment's notice.

After tossing the puny, blonde haired tank of the second group to the side, Tesseleth's gaze turned to the two players of the final group. What took the dragon by surprise, was the incredibly quick movements of the duo. They had began their assault on Tesseleth and his last remaining minion before he even had a chance to fully turn his head to them. The first attack came from the Scarlet Templar, who bashed the pommel of his blade into the obsidian armored knight. Like hitting a bell, the knights head rung from the strike at his head, and the shock wave created from the attack affected Tesseleth as well, pinning him in place once more, leaving the dragon to merely growl in anger. The second of the players, the Ultramarine Knight, ignored Tesseleth as well, and drew up energy in his fist to strike the knight. With one powerful strike, the armor of the Dragon Knight shattered, the decaying skeletal body being revealed for a mere moment, before the entirety of the minion burst into data fragments.

The mighty Tyrant let out a roar that shook the cavern to the core, one that showed the puny players that opposed him that he would not stand to be humiliated any more.

With the last of the Dragon Knights falling to their demise, Tesseleth was alone for the final time.  The last target to deal with for the twenty second floor to be unlocked was a few meters from Death's door.  It would be here that they would all need to push forward as hard as they can.

"Alright!  All out assault!  Let's get to the next floor before daybreak!"

The hunter shouted out without really checking what time it really was.  It would have really been an hour or two since the fight began, but it felt like ages since they started it.  Tesseleth has quite a large health pool, it seemed, and the knights didn't help that matter as much.  Though, who really kept track of the time in this dark cavernous boss fight, with the embodiment of darkness itself in front of them.

Maybe that was the reason why the hunter couldn't lay a hand on the creatures when he went forward to cut a chunk out of its health.  The initial attack seemed to phase through where he thought the boss was.  The boss never had any spectral powers, did it?  Or was the long fight finally tiring the hunter out and he was starting to see double.

"Huh?  Wha..?"

Jomei felt a wave of relief as the final Dragon Knight had been punched out by Calrex. Now the only thing that stood between them and the Twenty Second Floor was the giant, obsidian scaled dragon in front of them. At least it only had a single bar of health left, and now the entire raid team could put their focus on chipping away at it. The ginger's eyes scoped out his health and energy bars.. HP wise, he was alright, as long as he didn't take many more hits like the first one. His energy, however, he really only had about two or three more hits in him before he would be out. He only hoped that the fight would be near the end by that time. Saint Andrew's Bane engulfed in a gold aura as Jomei rushed forward, driving his blade into the skin of the dragon multiple times with his Over Radiation sword art.

=>75% - HP 9,000 - Frees 1 Knight
=>50% - HP +6,000 - Frees 2 Knights
=>25% - HP 3,000 - Frees 3 Knights

Dragon Knight Abilities:

Cross Slash : CD 1-5,  the Knight uses the Cross Slash sword art, and deals 300 damage against the main target.
