Itzal was on the fourteenth floor wearing his loot clothing, Twilight Cloak, with the black sword Faithkeeper in his hands that provided accuracy, along with a ring that gave him a bonus col multiplier.  He was stronger now than he used to be, particularly with the mod he had obtained after unlocking the third rank in light armor.  However he was far from done.  He needed go get stronger.  Strong enough to defeat Fearx.  And strong enough to avenge Beatbox for being killed by a player known as Death Adder.  However along with getting stronger, he needed to gather col for not only his guild but so that he could purchase his house once more for he and Kasier.  With the revamped system, his discount had been lowered, requiring him to rake in more col to purchase what they needed.  He had been fighting mobs but they hadn't been the required level...  Yet.  Itzal was approaching an area where he saw an undead champion and drew his sword, ready to take it on.  Velnia flew over to it, harassing it to keep it distracted while Itzal walked over.  When it turned around, Itzal shot forward and released Meteor strike on it multiple times, causing it to perish.  His tactics were quick, but the result was still null.

Coping with what he had been through, Macradon would try to collect his thoughts on something else than what had happened. It was not something to be touched up on now, it was for a later date, a later time and place. He would sigh heavily, but he was determined to go there now. Together with his small owlbear cub, Macradon would venture up to the 14th floor with his small Balthazar, helping him allocate good spots to defeat his enemies. He had planned to go out Col hunting with Itzal, even though Col wasn’t a problem he had, it was already good to have some spare Col laying around, even if that “spare” col was 400 thousand col waiting to be used. Macradon would not think too much of it and just go onto this journey. After traveling for a short duration, Macradon finally made his way to Itzal at the place they were to meet “Hey @Itzal, I’m here and ready to go” he said as he extracted a damage potion from his inventory and chucked it down.

Unlike Macradon, Itzal didn't have any spare col.  Not yet at least.  He needed to get at least eighty thousand more col in order to buy his house for Kasier and himself.  After that he needed to help his guild store up col to purchase their guild hall.  Thus he was hoping to at least cover his house after this little trip.  He heard Macradon arrive and greet him, and thus Itzal brought up a smile and nodded back to him, activating the Matriarch's stinger himself.  "Hey Macradon.  Good to see you again.  And thanks for taking the time to go mob hunting with me, I appreciate it.  I guess we should get started then?"  Itzal spotted about four mobs off in the distance.  Holding his black sword carefully, he began to walk towards them.  "So how have you been lately Macradon?  I never really see you besides events or boss raids, so it's hard to stay updated."

Macradon would nod, it was a good time to go on grinding for monsters. Col wasn’t the biggest of his concerns at the moment, but because of the hotfix, he would have to fund the guildhall once again, he wasn’t that much against it, but he just had to have some spare Col to take care of that, it wouldn’t be the first time he had poured in some Col to the guild to keep it running at full speed. He would smile towards Itzal and begin to walk as well. “I’ve been, so so, it’s been going up and down, but I’m managing to still have days off to relax rather than having all days focused on the frontlines” he said with a smile. His days were getting more and more complicated, but that’s just what it was like being a frontliner, and practically the leader of the Guild unless the Commander had anything to say. Without further hesitation, Macradon would spot the small group they were aiming at. 4 Bone Knights were standing guard, or something like that, in the fields of the desolate 14th floor. Macradon would ready his Sword of the Ancients and blast in with his <Charge> skill and <Bull Rush> while roaring out "Itzal, take them down after I chunk their HP down!", taking a good chunk at the mosnters' health while also knocking them prone for a good duration for Itzal to jump in and possibly take a killing blow.

Itzal listened to Macradon and nodded as they approached the monsters.  "Yeah, I try to make time to take breaks...  But lately I haven't had much of a chance to do so for multiple reasons.  I need about eighty thousand col to replace my house, and then I have to gather more col for the guild hall.  Ironically, my house is more expensive than the guildhall."  He watched as Macradon activated charge and deal massive damage to the enemies as well as stunning them.  He was guessing it was the bull rush mod that stunned them, but what impressed him was the fact that he dealt three hundred damage.  Then again, he did use a damage potion.  Itzal used the Matriarch's stinger a moment ago so he'd have seventeen base damage rather than six...  Not much but something.  He activated charge and released Shadow Explosion.  He struck all the monsters but managed to crit the last two.  He jumped to the side to allow Macradon to strike them.  "Don't kill them yet!  My LD is higher and I have a col enhancement on me!"

Macradon would click his tongue at the remark that Itzal wanted to have the killing blow, even though Macradon was the one who had set it all up, and Itzal was barely able to take a good enough chunk of damage off of them, but he probably needed the Col more than Macradon, so he would let it be at that. “Aight!” Macradon roared as he would focus on grabbing the hate of the knightly warriors in front of him. Quickly shifting position, Macradon would stand in a good place to deal a good blow with his <Blast> sword art, just to grab the hate off of the monsters. His sword, the Sword of the Ancients, tore through the knights and their armor like butter, ripping through the fabric of their very existence. Though the attack was light, it was more than enough to really grab their attention to him. With his greatsword, Macradon had crippled 3 of the knights, crippling them, while the last knight would go in for a retaliation. Macradon would scoff the puny attack at him and quickly bash it to the side as a deflection with his sword. His battle healing was doing its thing and Macradon was on full health once again. Without turning his head away from the monsters in from of him, Macradon would call out to Itzal "They're ready for harvesting".

Itzal could tell Macradon didn't like the idea of holding back and letting him deal the last hit.  Though, this was honestly all he was good at.  His damage, as Macradon would soon see, was rather weak and pathetic.  He nodded when he said they were ready for harvesting and charged at the mobs.  Itzal may not be very good with dealing damage, but as a scout his chances of good loot were rather high...  As, after all, he was a scout.  Itzal approached the monsters and released Shadow Explosion, and this time successfully struck each of the monsters, ending three of them and dealing one hundred and forty four damage to the last one...  He wasn't very strong, as he had said before.  The loot menu popped up for both of them to see.  Itzal could always split the col both ways, but they should probably talk about who gets what after this battle, and then split the goods after they were done with combat.  He nodded to Macradon.  If  he wanted to kill the last one he could, or he could let Itzal have the last shot on that sucker as well so they had a chance for higher loot.

Itzal would come in for the kill, taking out a fairly large chunk of the knight group they were fighting. Only one was left behind from Itzal’s onslaught, and Macradon would come in to take out some of its health, leaving it vulnerable to Itzal’s final blow that would net the two a fair amount of Col when they finished their hunt. The amount of item drops wasn’t of Macradon’s concern, he wasn’t really in need of any super items that could net him some good special enhancements. He already got back his revenge on Rohk with Shi’s Talon, but that was a trash item anyways. He had Dom’s legacy, the Scarecrow’s Sickle, and now his own legacy, the Sword of the Ancients. He would not think much of this before angling himself in a perfect spot to lower his sword and rush forward. With the sword following behind him, Macradon would initiate an upwards diagonal strike that would cleave a good chunk into the knight, leaving it with little HP to hold back against Itzal’s oncoming attack. “Go for it!” he said after cleaving straight through the knight, making it stagger backwards, probably unable to dodge Itzal.

Itzal watched as Macradon charged forward to the remaining monster, releasing his sword art on him, reducing his health down to such a point where even Itzal could take him out with his low damage output.  Macradon called out to Itzal, telling him to shoot for the monster.  He nodded and rushed toward the bone knight who was knocked back and attempting to regain it's balance.  As he prepared his sword art, the monster's eyes flashed for a moment.  Instead of trying to regain it's balance, it allowed itself to fall.  Instead of landing on it's back, it rolled out of the way, pushing itself further away so that Itzal's blade missed it.  It wasn't a bare miss, nor was it far from it's target.  Regardless of this however, Itzal knew that this would take longer.  He was certain he could hit it on the next round, but whether Macradon would wait for that or not was unclear.  If Macradon did want to kill him, he supposed that was alright.

Even though he had made a good setup, Itzal was unable to get the last attack to take out the lone bone knight. These monsters weren’t just braindead lumps of digital matter that just went in for attacks as their digital hearts contended, they were smart enough to move around and dodge efficiently, of course a small delay to make them easier to kill for players. The attack Macradon had thrown at the group of knights put it off balance, but instead of keeping its ground and retaliate, it made a backwards roll and dodged all the incoming attacks afterwards. Unable to really do anything else, Macradon tried to jump up to make 3 heavy uppercuts with his greatsword, cleaving upwards thrice in big swings, but they were way too telegraphed and the knight simply blocked all the three incoming strikes. With Macradon in the front, he was sure Itzal would be able to take it out now.

Itzal was not about to screw this up now.  He watched as Macradon had failed the attack as well, at least grateful that it wasn't just him.  He launched himself at the mob, whistling for Velnia to aid.  Velnia came in from the monster's right, drawing it's attention.  It noticed Itzal too late and he released vertical arc and dealt more damage than it's total health.  He watched as it shattered into a hundred different crystals which ended the fight.  He watched his health drop a bit and acknowledged that he received a bit of damage in reaction but that was fine.  The rewards were four thousand one hundred and forty col, two materials, and an uncommon consumable.  He showed the rewards to Macradon before adding it to their total which they were going to split after all of this was over with.  "That was...  Longer than desirable."  He sighed before stretching and turning to Macradon.  "So..  I have a question while we regenerate energy..  How do you feel about the frontlines as they are right now?  I mean, the players who've made it to the frontlines."

Looking over at Itzal as the battle has ended, Macradon was posed with quite the question towards him. “Oh … well … I feel like the people who have surfaced up there have been quite capable despite the level differences …” he said, pondering upon the thought of the players coming to be part of the frontlines. “The only thing that’s truly missing is a strong elite guild that shows its prominence on the frontlines. The Celestial Ascendants seems to slowly become the prominent guild on the frontlines if they aren’t already. Azure was there at the beginning, the Knights took over, it seems the Ascendants will be taking the torch for now, which I’ll gladly hand over. All the paperwork is driving me nuts” he said with a slight chortle at the end of his sentence. With the Vice Commander non existent, Macradon was faced with all the administration work, which he wasn’t good at.

Macradon seemed to have misunderstood Itzal's question, but that was fine.  He could clarify after Macradon had finished.  When he mentioned how the Celestial Ascendants seemed to have taken the mantle, Itzal blushed a little as he personally hadn't felt that way.  The guild grew more and more inactive with each passing day.  Itzal felt that only he and Jonathan were the only active ones in the guild.  Hikoru had all but vanished, and the others hadn't done anything either.  When Macradon finished, Itzal would reply to his friend.  "Well, that wasn't exactly what I meant.  I wasn't talking about the strength of players or anything.  I was asking what you thought of the players themselves.  The way they talk, the way they act...  The way they treat one another.  Including me if you have thoughts, I don't mind hearing them."  It would be clear to Macradon that this was something Itzal had been thinking about for quite some time, and that it was weighing heavily on him.  He was looking for someone to talk about it with, and he had chosen to talk with Macradon.

Rather than the sheer attack force the frontlines had, Itzal had thought about the people on the frontlines, their personalities, their way of being. It wasn’t something Macradon would really get into, he didn’t bond with most of the frontlines, he didn’t bond with people at all. He had somewhat lost the capabilities of making new friends, making new bonds, it has been like so since the multiple murders he had encountered, the murders he had seen. The pain he felt as he saw his friends be slaughtered hurt too much for him to be able to handle again. “I don’t really know, I don’t really talk with that many on the frontlines anymore, barely even talks with my guild other than semi-daily guild meetings …” he said and would take in a deep breath. It was just like his subconsciousness held him away of getting friends, just so it could let go of feeling that would end in his pain.

Itzal was silent as he listened to Macradon say this.  He wasn't sure if he should share his feelings about the front lines with Macradon.  They were friends but they didn't know each other too well.  He wanted to be careful what he said around others, not because he was afraid of what they'd say about him, but because he didn't want to insult or hurt anyone.  While it seemed like Macradon wouldn't mind, he was too cautious to say it outwardly.  Little did Itzal know that something would be happening soon that would change, all of that.  For now however, he ended up deciding to give his conservative thoughts.  "I don't think the frontlines can work with one another.  Or rather, the players on the front lines.  What I mean by that is, while they are fighting along side each other, they aren't really working together.  They just kind of do their own thing."  He fell silent once again after that.  He was hoping he wasn't too direct, and at the same time he hoped that he wasn't being obvious that there was more that was bothering him than what he had stated.  The problem was he had a very terrible poker face.  Velnia landed on Macradon's shoulder and started curling up comfortably to get some rest.

Macradon looked over at Itzal with a stern look, he nodded in approval, agreeing on what stated. “Aye, I can surely see that the frontlines, be it with their guild or not, are not really working that much together, it might be because of Team Composition or just lack of training. I can see that we all just need to really give it everything we have, not saying we weren’t already, but push it past our limits when concerning dangerous and serious subjects like a Floor Boss Raid” he said and would hesitate slightly, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Feeling the weight being altered on his shoulder, Macradon would move a gentle hand up to touch the small beast, petting it lightly as he opened up his eyes again and looked at Itzal. “It’s something I’ve actually always wanted to do, making a school, teaching people about fighting. I may not be a good tactician, but I’m confident enough to say I’m a great fighter” he said without much else in thought.

Itzal walked with Macradon listening as he seemed to agree with what little Itzal had mentioned.  He gave a mental sigh of relief.  While Macradon was seeing it through a military perspective in the sense of teamwork and the need in training as to how to work together, Itzal saw it in the sense of trust.  In a more friend and family point of perspective...  Maybe if they worked together, they could help mend the bridge between the front liners.  It would mean needing to talk to players like Zandra and Ariel, as well as...  Heathcliff...  But other than them players shouldn't be too hard to communicate with.  Especially if Macradon and he worked together.  He wouldn't say anything however, as he wanted to wait a little more before jumping into things.  When Macradon told him about wanting to set up a battle school Itzal thought about that.  "It would definitely be interesting.  And if we can teach the next generation of fighters to work together, and how to work together, then maybe we could turn this all around sooner rather than later...  Hey how about we take on one more group ok?  I promise I'll do better and try not to miss," he said with a grin to Macradon before drawing his sword once again.

“It’s an investment that’s going to cost a lot of Col, but I’m getting close the the amount of Col I need for it” Macradon said to Itzal. He had been hauling in Col because it had been a goal for him before, but … it just wasn’t there for him anymore, maybe this encounter was what was gonna kickstart his idea once again. He smiled at Itzal’s request and nodded “Aight, I’m gonna set up, make sure you’re ready, then” he said and opened his Tracking Panel, inserting the “Bone Knight” in the tracking field.

His eyes would begin to glow an iridescent yellow as he began to see tracks on the ground from the monsters he was tracking. Walking after the footprints, Macradon would have his sword ready when he were to find the monsters. Walking a few seconds, Macradon would have tracked down a group of 4 Bone Knights, locked onto their position. “I got the locked in, get ready” he said and prepared himself.

Itzal liked the idea of a training school, as long as it wasn't too hard, taught people to work together, and above that to care for each other as well.  They needed to fight in order to escape, but they didn't need to be military to do so.  And if they did then everyone in this game was going to be permanently scarred and emotionally screwed for life.  Many already were but he'd rather not force everyone to as well.  Macradon told him that he was going to set it up, causing Itzal to raise an eyebrow in confusion.  He saw Macradon start the tracking mod and blinked.  Itzal had forgotten about it to be honest and wished he'd just used it.  Then again he wasn't aware of the instant hit ability it granted him until a day ago, so he wasn't surprised he'd forgotten.  Unlike Macradon who activated the skill, Itzal would have to work against the chance of missing.  He saw the mobs and activated charge, releasing his Shadow Explosion sword art.  He only managed to hit the first two who didn't see him coming.  The second two leaped backwards just in the nick of time to avoid getting hit by Itzal's blade.  Itzal nodded for Macradon to move in next.

Macradon was fully prepared to let out his battle roar and engage in battle, but it seemed that Itzal had grabbed the initiative and began to <Charge> into the flock of Bone Knights. Macradon would smirk and commence his own <Charge>. Itzal had went into the battle, hitting the two closest and missing the two that would make a quick step away from him. Macradon would take the opportunity and would execute his <Calamity Disaster>, chaining his hits into the small group that Itzal had attacked and was directing his attack onto the next two. But as he got close to the second group, one of them had managed to sneak an attack in and dealt a small amount of damage to the Scarlet Templar. Macradon’s Battle Healing would take care of it, so Macradon ignored the impact and threw his last wits into the last few swings, dealing a major blow to the Bone Knights, stunning them in the process with his Bullrush.
