[SP-F19] Eyes of A Crow

Recommended Posts

winds blow softly then followed by a stronger one then proceeds to calm itself again. The surrounding seemed like it has been covered with nimbus clouds, ushering the sunset. It has been the first time for Crozeph to navigate this upper floor and is thinking to himself if he did the right choice of coming here to search for materials, or unidentified items of higher tier and at least try to sell them at his shop. Crozeph stood at the wide open area. There was a few grasses and patches of barren land "I wonder if I could find anything in here" he said to himself. Crozeph walked towards the ruins and began taking his eyes on areas where he could find any. "A crack on the wall or..." Crozeph looked up "man there are a few birds in here" he told himself. Crozeph continued walking, fancies himself as some king of wandering samurai in search of atonement "or in search of peace" he thought. Crozeph has been planning on putting a few materials to their guild so that someone can actually use it or he could try to meet up with some players from the Guardians and give them whatever he could give "then there's Hestia that I can give for her shop" he thought. Crozeph continued wandering at the floor, hoping something good might happen to him or least do something useful.

Crozeph admired some places while others seemed suspicious to him. He kept his right hand on the hilt of his katana while his left hand is ready to draw it. As he further looked around, he tried looking for materials and also try to keep himself safe from every encounter which is still not happening. Crozeph covered his eyes as a gust of wind mixed with dust pass through. "yeah right, be like floor five" he muttered in annoyance. Crozeph looke around of the gust uncovered something useful. Crozeph saw something which he expected and picked it up. It was hardly convincing to be a material but Crozeph managed to find one "all right then, shall we continue? he told himself.

The next spot looked promising, considering that some materials doesn't look like it is "well we shouldn't judge according to looks" he told himself "you can't judge a look by its lover" he added. Crozeph used his katana to dig on soft soil, hoping that he could unearth anything useful. It took a few minutes, but Crozeph realized that nothing can be of use. He swung his katana in a downward motion, whisking off mud that clung to it. He sheathe his katana and resumed on his way, it wasn't as disappointing as it should have been. Crozeph gaze at the surrounding before him. It was a bit quiet, not suspiciously quiet but enough for Crozeph to lighten up on his exploration. He took a deep breath and resumed his journey, optimism is needed on places like these and for people like Crozeph who always tends to be alone.

The next spot where he searched didn't have materials either. Crozeph sighed, not disappointed but annoyed by how he's been slow on gathering "maybe I should try to invest on skills that helps with that" he told himself. A cool breeze swept Crozeph, it was good and these are the things he enjoyed in his travels. It wasn't as cold as he felt when he is at floor four. The wind resulted for Crozeph to continue, knowing that this kind of weather is something that he has been searching. Crozeph looked around for another place to search and he hopes to find a material now before he could ever face a monster around the area. Who knows who he might run into or what he may encounter but Crozeph kept himself ready just in case.

Crozeph was still searching but none of what he is looking for was found. He sat down at the grass and made his sword lean on his shoulders. He didn't know where to search next and it has been tiring to keep on digging and pulling things just to find materials. Crozeph looked up at the ruins and the blue sky, clear as is it in real life "the only difference is that we're stuck here and its a prison underneath the skin" he thought. A lot of players have grown accustomed to the life inside Aincrad but there are still a lot who wanted to get off the game. Whatever happens if they get stuck inside much longer? he pondered on this thoughts but then he shifted his thinking to finding some materials again "I'll just rest for a few minutes" he thought.

Crozeph saw that something looked interesting as he stood up to resume his material gathering. The purpose of this expedition was for him to gather higher tier materials to make a new sword. Someday he'll be stronger in stats and that means he needs to get ready for a stronger katana, the materials at the higher floors was promising and if he ever is lucky he could stumble on some chests or unidentified items to pick up. Crozeph walked towards the place where he saw something. He smiled as he saw one material lying down on the ground. He picked it up and looked at the material "finally something to work with, I hope you're as good as my bleeding dove once I took you to a blacksmith" he told the material before placing it inside his inventory. Crozeph then gazed at the horizon, the place is still spacious and getting lost is inevitable but at least he has some fun.

As he continued to search for materials, flashbacks of his life hidden returned to him. Crozeph kicked the earth and stones before him. It was months or more than a year. He was living inside a forest, his katana by his side always. Living off animal meat and a fire, Crozeph entered the forest and hid himself after may conflicts inside of him. It was at that moment where the forgiveness that he gave to the one who killed his brother was mixed with a pinch of regret. It was only after he pulled himself to together and join his Square One guildmates where Crozeph had the notion to leave the forest.

Crozeph then went back to the present time, him kicking the soft soil to unearth something fortunately. He then sighed as nothing appeared, thinking that he would not always have the luck to get what he wanted. Crozeph didn't want to hole up inside a forest again, unless he turned into a player killer which is an unlikely option. Crozeph brushed his fringes and left the area, there was nothing he could get and so he needed to move on.

Unfortunately, there are still no materials to be found. Crozeph sighed in dismay, the usual him whenever he goes on expeditions by himself. He hasn't visited his shop for a while and it seems he will be doing nothing if he can't bring back something to tinker at his shop. There were other plans in his mind like finding a familiar with scouting abilities. "A cat would suit that role, its sharp eyes and hunting skills are the perfect match for someone like me" he thought. Crozeph was still lost in his thought when he heard footsteps coming at him. Crozeph placed his left hand on the hilt of his katana, ready to draw his blade if it is a mob.

Surely it is, three humanoid monsters stood before him, carrying swords and spears. They looked like people with a little decay on themselves. They grunt as if wanting to kill him, just like most mobs do. Crozeph shook his head "all right, who wants to die first?" he asked them. The three slammed there swords and shield together as if they are trying to challenge Crozeph. One of the three who was the tallest moved towards Crozeph while the two waited and grunted. The what seemed like a knight roared at him "that's nasty, you gotta have the manners to be a knight" he mocked the knight before smiling "a sword fight it is my friend"  he uttered.

The knight and Crozeph began their duel. Crozeph charged at the knight with his katana still in its sheath while the knight raised its gladiatorial sword for a downward swing. The motion for the attack was predictable but Crozeph never lets the obvious pass by like its nothing. The knight then lowered his sword and flick the blade changing its position to a horizontal slash "warriors like you use swords fluidly, I use mine with precision" he uttered. Crozeph activated one of his sword art and unleashed it on the knight. He slashed in a circular manner that the attack of the knight wasn cancelled, it also drove back the sword to the knights chest followed by Crozeph's sword. The knight spun around before crashing down while Crozeph moved past him. The two lackeys stopped banging their shield after what took place "I should be more careful"  he thought.

The knight stood up shocked by what happened, It seemed like the raven-haired boy's attack was something that needs more than a simple block. Crozeph raised his katana and charged at the knight. The knight however spun around and launched a mid-air attack at Crozeph. The attack was so strong Crozeph's katana was more than just parried, it also dealt damage to the boy. Crozeph was pushed back and wounded on his right shoulder. The two lackeys began banging their shields wildly as the knight made a successful attack. Crozeph smiled at the exchange of attacks "glad to see someone eager to return the favor" he told the knight who replied with a smile "you...die here, intruder" he told Crozeph. The boy raised his sword "not today or anytime, I'll be an annoyance for all of you" he told the knight as they get themselves ready for another clash.

The next clash began, as if they're two warriors proving their supremacy. Crozeph however is wary of the two lackeys who stood from afar banging their shields. Crozeph reached the knight as quick as he can but the knight kept his shield in front of him. Crozeph unleashed another sword at at the knight. Crozeph made a horizontal slash at the knight but it seems the knight is more skilled than the average mob. It began to parry the first attack of Crozeph's sword art "damn, damage is lessened now" he thought. Not only his first attack parried but the impact of their swords sent pain at Crozeph's arm making him winced and used his right hand at the dull edge of his katana to keep him from being pushed back. However Crozeph's sword art isn't over yet. planting his right foot before the knight Crozeph shifted his left hand holding the katana and dropped it. All of a sudden he punched the knight right at the jaw. The helmet got dented causing damage at the knight. Crozeph in a quick motion lowered his left hand and picked up his katana and aimed at the side of the knight "parry this" he uttered before slashing at the side of the knight who was sent flying a few feet after Crozeph's last blow.

battle healing [+6 HP]

The knight dropped dead at the final blow but it wasn't over yet. Crozeph pulled himself together to get the chance to attack it again but it seems he's at a disadvantage now. Crozeph dashed forward but stopped midway . The knight's blow also made Crozeph's other arm be in pain. It seems that when Crozeph used his right arm as a reinforcement of his block, his hand got injured. Crozeph gritted his teeth, the battle made him much more angry but in a way that doesn't lose his cool. He moved back, raised his sword and waited for the knight to get back on his feet, a battle he might just be able to enjoy is right before him "so this is something like for honor huh?" he uttered as he saw the knight twitch on the ground.

The knight stood up unsteadily and tried to gather its wits before it attacks Crozeph. It shook its head and looked at the player who seemed to be injured himself. The knight quickly ran towards Crozeph and raised its sword, a european-style slash to maim the raven-haired boy. Crozeph lowered his sword, aiming for a body blow then spinning around to dodge the attack. The plan however didn't go the way he wanted it to. The knight suddenly change stance and used the pommel to hit Crozeph on the face. The player was caught off-guard completely that he back flipped at the full force. Crozeph groaned in agony as he placed his hand on his forehead "right at main street damn it!" he uttered. The knight spun his longsword around, bragging about what just happened.

Crozeph is the one struggling to stand up now, the knight lifted its sword and shield as it looked at Crozeph. It is waiting for the next clash of swords and Crozeph hardly parried the longsword "even if this is a game, I can't just let this tradition of not using a katana for parrying pass by" he thought as he gathered his wits this time and attack the knight. The enemy charged at Crozeph and shifted its sword for a horizontal slash. Crozeph planted his right foot, eager to slice through the weak spots of its armor. The knight reached Crozeph quickly and changed its attack from a horizontal slash to a diagonal one. Crozeph however saw the attack and spun around the knight. Once he positioned himself right, Crozeph unleashed a sword art on the knight. It wasn't like the first ones, the knight took a few steps forward before it fell on its knees. Crozeph motioned for a defensive stance and saw that the knight has already dropped its shield and placed its hands on its neck where Crozeph landed his katana "the favor has been returned" he told the knight.

The knight did not waste another second and swung his sword right at Crozeph who dodged it. It stood up and moved towards Crozeph, its shield left behind. The raven-haired boy walked towards the knight also, each one trying to end the battle just like always. Crozeph spun around as soon as the knight raised his sword, aiming to dodge the attack and deal a counterattack on the knight. Crozeph's blade missed but the sword of the knight struck him by the shoulder. Unlike his katana, the sword didn't slice through but it did send an excruciating pain to Crozeph. He moved back, keeping his katana up and the knight ready for another round of sword lock.

battle healing [+6 HP]

The two charged at each other again, whether it is battle hunger or pure insanity is beyond what they can feel. Crozeph, learned from his past mistake on seeing how fluid are the knight's movements with its sword. Crozeph moved back just at the right time to avoid its double-edged sword and taking the opportunity to unleash a sword attack that will hit the knight good and where it really hurts. The attack landed clean and Crozeph used the moment to analyze whether the knight would still attempt to attack. The knight stumbled and tried to stand up. It seems Crozeph's sword cut right enough to end the knight's health points. Crozeph stood still, waiting for the knight's reaction.

The two lackeys stood still also and as they tried to assess the situation. All of a sudden the knight turned around, looking at Crozeph then it dropped his sword. The knight shattered into fragments and was carried by the gust of the wind. Crozeph sheathed his sword and glared at the two lackeys who instantly bolted away. Crozeph sighed, the battle ended quite simple. He then proceeded to search for his materials, and hopefully steer clear of any monsters or denizens in the floor.

Crozeph didn't pay any attention at the place where the knight shattered as far as he knows, the knight dropped only the essentials that he expected. Crozeph made an annoyed sigh and walked towards it and picked up a material and col. Crozeph opened his inventory and placed it all in, at least he has something to carry back home. He surveyed his surroundings and felt the cool breeze of the wind. He might as well make it back to the town so that he can re-stock on supplies before going out in the wild again. It seems his travels didn't went far as he got what he needed rather quickly. all he needs to do now is hopefully find a dungeon on his way back and gather materials one last time.

Crozeph tried to retrace his steps back to the settlement of the floor. As he did so he tried to look for materials around him. He unfortunately found none and then decided to walk a little more. It was all for naught. Crozeph eased himself and continued to walked towards the settlement which is still far. Crozeph tried to remember all the things that he wanted to do and never got the chance to do them. If he wasn't such a slack off he would be somewhere around a new tier and be much more productive in his life. Crozeph sighed again, he was full of woes lately and it didn't really help as usual. The frontliners are advancing on the upper floors and they're doing the best they can to set everyone else free, he might as well do something.

Crozeph kept his eyes peeled for something useful on the ground or from some rock formations. He thought how to help others and give some advice to other players but it seems that he himself needs some good advice that he can used in his life. The wind blew at him again but Crozeph's clothing and armor was enough to shield him from the colder than cold breeze that it brought. There was never a chance that this floor can match the coldness of floor four. Crozeph continued to look but to his dismay he failed again and tried to comfort himself as he slowly retraced his steps.

Still no signs of finding a material suited for Crozeph's weapon or a higher tier katana. Crozeph tried to keep his calm at the results of the situation. He won't go empty-handed that's for sure but he could've at least tried to gain more on his quest. Crozeph looked around the occasional bushes that he saw along the way and to his dismay still found no materials. The sunset atmosphere has almost arrived and Crozeph just wanted to have something to take back with him but for now, he has to make do of what he has. The night draws near but not completely, Crozeph still has time to return to the settlement.
