[F1-SP] The war god's brewery in the making <<Earning A Living>>

Recommended Posts

After his successful mission on the second floor he came back down to the first floor with a quest in mind to take and accomplish. It is time to gain a profession, and the one in mind would be the Alchemist route of profession. The performer not seeming that useful unless it is debuffs, and that is a long roads down to that station. Then their was the other crafts they all had their benefits, but with Alchemy he could make what is needed. Healing potions, increased damage, protection, and many other things which will be of great use just in general to be able to make. With this in mind he will focus his energy on being able to make the materials that would be needed. It is just a better route to Cassius' eyes in general. It will certainly be useful for him since he is a solo player so having the options at the beginning of crafting healing items, and gaining that more damage option is necessary for his survival especially the healing option also.

With this idea in mind he traveled through the forest of the second floor keeping his hands within his pocket. As he was making his way through the forest he looked around at the peacefulness of it all finding it unsettling that there weren't any monsters coming from wherever they could come from. However, it is also rather good since that would mean that he would be at a disadvantage since he doesn't have his gear, or even the enhancements that would be necessary for his survival within this game. Cassius makes his way towards the town of urbus taking about three hours to get to their since Taron was a rather far walk away from Urbus. Once within the town Mars gets towards the teleporter and says. Teleport, Town of Beginnings. With that he was taken back to the first floor. Back to he floor of weakling and nobodies who are to scared to do anything at all.

Once within the town of beginnings Mars looks around spotting the players in abundance on this floor once more. He looks upon these players and just see weak sheep that need someone to help them actually have direction and meaning in their lives. With them just standing around and doing nothing, or just bragging over things that are not impressive by any means they slow their own progression, and in turn slows the completion of the floors. Instead of showing such irritation and hatred for these idiots he on the outside smiles and greets them politely and kindly as he makes his way towards the alchemist NPC that is within this town that isn't Zachariah. Since if he went to him he would be starting another quest entirely, and that isn't the reason for him being on this floor at this moment. That would be after he gets his gear, and his familiar if he can find a useful performer to help him along with that quest then things would go rather smoothly in that area of things. Knowing that the familiar quest is another one of those famously infamous quests that it seems everyone despises for one reason or the other. The main reason being that finding a familiar with enhancements is said to be difficult.

Cassius makes his way through the waves of players, and NPCs walking about till he finds something that is practically a safe haven. He makes his way into an alleyway and starts walking down it. Thankful for the space that it provides to be alone rather then in the noise of players bragging of killing a boar pup of all things, or some bragging of having gotten some type of armor. All very basic things that they are being told as if they killed the floor boos Tesseleth. Such sad people these are on these floors that look for meaning in places that don't have any form them. When all they actually need to do is grow confidence and fight the enemies on the floors above this one instead of being drunkards and cowards.  While walking through the alleyway it does take a little bit more time, but he makes his way towards the alchemist he had heard about which is on this floor. The name of the shop being the chemical safehaven. A rather strange name, but it makes sense since it is Alchemy. A art that is considered chemistry, and the potions that can be provided by alchemists do have that feeling of being safe since it buffs the players.

Cassius opens the door to the shop and enters within the building and spots a man who looks to be rather young working on something. Seeing this he keeps his distance till the potion in question is completed figuring that if he would interrupt it could cause a rather nasty explosion that Cassius would not wish to become a  part of. When he sees the item complete Cassius makes his way over and nods his head. Hello good sir i am here to become an Alchemist, and i figure i would learn from one of the best on this floor. I say in a polite tone of voice as the young man just chuckles and pats my shoulder as i just smile at the physical gesture. Not showing the irritation at the person invading my personal space. I'm not the best, but i would be happy to help you out with becoming a alchemist. It is always nice to have more of us out their. He says in a kind voice as i just nod my head as i wait to  hear the process of how to become one.

Okay now then the first step to become an alchemist is obviously making a potion. If you wish to make a potion i would like for you to go out and collect some materials if you can. Then bring them back here and we can then get to work on making something for you. He says with a smile as Cassius just nod his head politely and says in a equally kind tone. Of course expect me to be back before the sun even gets close to turning the sky red my good friend. Cassius says kindly and happily, but on the inside he is face palming since the objective is rather simple. It is almost exactly like the second lesson quest from what he has observed from other players taking part of it. With this Cassius just nods his head  and heads out of the shop back onto the loud crowded streets of the first floor's town of beginning. Cassius checks his map and nods his head as he starts heading towards the exit where the fields are located. Knowing there are some boars out their that wouldn't give him trouble in reality considering his strength compared to these weak little floor one boars. However, their is no harm in caution that could be taken to avoid the possible death do to how the game seems to love playing with accuracy.

Cassius makes his way across the streets of the floor moving through the more secluded route of the city. Going through the uncrowded alleyways, and side roads that aren't taken as frequently.  Looking through the darkness that the buildings can provide to avoid any players that might wish to be annoyance or trouble to him. Not wishing to deal with ignorance or annoyance in today's schedule. Moving towards the northern exit towards the northern exit where their will be plenty of fields to find flowers and such that would be used in potion making. Now that he thinks about it the term alchemy is a strange one considering its modern day depiction of how it is almost magical like, and that in most classes when it speaks of alchemy it is always that of philosopher stones, and turning other metals into gold. To use that term for alchemy which is potion making in this game is rather strange for certain. To make it more clear for certain people that potion maker or some variant that could mean as such would be clearer then Alchemy that is more tied into the transmutation of metal into gold in the more popular understanding of such.

After such thoughts Cassius makes his way to the exit and looks upon the exit before leaving the town glad to have gotten through it with minimal annoyances that could ruin his mentality and mood through their stupidity. The less of that their is the less chance he would have to teach them their place which would ruin his small but good reputation in the inns of the floors that he has been at.Cassius also having made friends with some information brokers which allows him to keep in touch with the happenings of the guilds and just general quest news that can sprout up everywhere.  As he leaves the town Cassius immediately starts looking around for useful flowers and such that could be crushed down into fine powder to be put into the process of potion making to make sure that they could heal, or add more poison. From what he understands they're turning these things into a nice paste to apply towards wounds to heal them all up, so finding plants that can be used for such a thing is the priority over plants that would be better in a liquid concoction.

Cassius looks around the field for anything that could be of worth in the long run of things for this quest. Not knowing much of the healing properties of certain plants or how they would interact with one another. This leaves him a bit in the dark of the process that would be necessary, and leaving up to the game to figure out what his intentions are for creation. When looking through the field their wasn't anything that immediately jumped out at him as a useful materials and any plants that he picked up wouldn't give the ding of saying he got a material of some type as he would expect they would. Cassius sighs in slight annoyance that he doesn't know much of the plant life to determined what could be used in a poison salve, or healing salve. He can only guess that this is going to be the hard part of this quest. Finding enough materials, and more specifically a useful amount of materials to have enough for attempts when he makes a shop.

Thinking of that would what be an accurate shop name for what he has planned. Should it be thematic with his name? Maybe make it in theme with the floor  that he will make it upon. Well at the very least he has lots of time to decide on such things during his time walking these fields. He looks around as he once more just picks at random flowers not a one counting as a material since they aren't applying to him for one reason or the other. Cassius can only assume it has something to do with the fact the game is recognizing this is a quest, and their are specific flowers that would work for the limited things he can create.

As he walks about he draws a few designs within his mind of what would be a rather well made shop area for himself. Possibly going roman and having things like tapestries and such hanging off the walls. Fur covered floors and chairs. A nice little lounge area, and in the back being a work space and off the side having an area to throw failures at. The shop would also function as a home since it is going to be better then a inn for certain. So having a sleeping area and a bed like structure to sleep on would be rather nice when compared to those cheaply made inn bedrooms.

Finally as Cassius had picked up one of the flowers the game had notified him of the fact it was a material that can be used. He rolls his eyes at this annoying process, and can only hope to eventually meet a players that can be used to help gain more of these materials. Possibly one that is a support since they would already not matter much besides healing. Damage and tanking is already lost on such players if they choose support. What better way to support then also help be a walking material gathering shop. Could be a nice way to make a living while players would be at it. A name for a shop is something to be decided still. Possibly the philosopher's stone? No sounds to much like it would fit those artisans. Possibly a name befitting something more to the floor since names for the god's are escaping him. Floor choice then seems to be the deciding factor of what would be a rather good name to reflect the location.

As he thinks of locations Cassius chuckles thinking of the perfect place to mock the floor. The 17th floor that is based on the greek world basically. Of Sparta and Athens with Mt. Olympus where they believe their gods are at. He will make his shop on that floor and name it oh so accordingly. The shop will be name the Legion's service. He chuckles at the name, and can only think how those knights of blood oath had taken the military tactic approach in their guild formation. How accurate that they would be close enough towards the legions by having that hierarchy in place to make sure none of the soldiers will slack in their duty. That is the only kindness he could give the guilds of this game since the rest are just one little slip up from falling into nothing like that Azure brigade he had once heard about back in the day. Now just a forgotten title that only few bother to remember. As he was thinking this he had picked up one more material to add to his collection that he will be able to use for getting him salves that will be of much use in beating up the monster of this floors and beyond.

Cassius makes his way through the floor fields that are around the entrance to the first floor's town of beginnings sticking to here since he can remain safe for the most part since monsters don't dare get to close to the city since it is in their programming.  Cassius looks around the fields and spots nothing sadly which is just confirmed by the fact all the flowers he picks don't go to his inventory like the two he had managed to get that were materials did so immediately. he remembers those two colors and how those plants looked in the future, so he can just get those over and over for the use of his alchemy making. Cassius goes over in his mind if needs anything for his shop now once he accomplishes the quest? He has a name and a design idea for where he wishes his shop to be like, and he has a floor to put it on. It seems like he is set quite well for the making of his shop.

Cassius looks over what he has and decides that this field has run out of what he has been looking for. With this in mind he makes his way deeper into the field where monsters can come out and attack him if they would dare attack a man who knows martial arts. He looks around to keep an eye to see if their are any boars, or boar pups around and spots a few that he could vent on if need be if he keeps not finding any materials. That fact being rather frustrating that would need to be rectified, and vented on with something. With these boars being weak little targets that would make for good killing targets. Cassius looks around and goes through his mind of the well known players that he shouldn't bother trying to change at all. That being basically the entirety of those Celestials. However, from what he knows of their is possibly one or two members he can use for something in this even if it is use them for their profession. With the obvious one being the Paladin known as...what was his name? Oh yes Itzal they called this fellow. Supposedly having a reputation for being one of the most helpful of the celestials which he knows is their goal of their guild.

Cassius chuckles at knowing that the celestials are so terrible at their own job. That only one players has actually bothered doing the business of their guild from what he has heard. However, from what he has heard of one of his informants as of late the player named as Shield who is supposedly some famous person back in the real world has been helping out players also. Still even with this it is pretty pathetic of that guild to be like how they are when they could actually be good at keeping their word of helping lower leveled players. However, with itzal he seems to be the symbol of that guild's goal so he could be a rather nice addition to be used for his kindness that he gives out oh to willingly it seems like. With this Itzal being good for him to use for familiar calls, or some item to increase his find chances of items since that seems to be something he would do. As he focuses back on his task for a moment he spots one of flowers he knows will be a material and takes it from the ground as it is added to his inventory immediately.

Cassius looks for another material but doesn't spot any that he would be familiar with to know that they could be used. He looks around keeping an eye on that boar family he could destroy if need be. With his familiar it seems like he would be fine if he could get a target on this Itzal person. Which would be rather easy since he can have his informants find his shop, and then report back to him the exact location. When he gets their Cassius could ask for help, and act kind enough to not give anything away to this player. That way he could make sure to have  a successful time in capturing that familiar that would be used to his benefit. However, that would leave the item of knowing what familiar would he want to have? What creature would be fitting of a person like? Possibly a griffon, or some type of creature that takes part of different creature to look frightening. That would be rather useful to him to serve as a perfect battle animal.

A creature that is known for fear could be a griffon do to how frightening they can be, but then their is other creature that would be better for fighting like the famous dragon option people choose, or even better the practically mythical liger. Such a combination of lion and tiger two great predators would be good for hunting and killing off his Opponent. He looks around for any material that could apply and nods his head once he spots it and adds it to his inventory. Once that is done he thinks on the other quests that are out their like the third and fourth lesson quest their is only the hope by then he can do enough damage to overpower the weak opponents that are their to challenge him on the third and fourth lesson. Those lessons quests being his priority in terms of completing since he figures he'll have his strength high enough to tear through the quest mobs with the use of his sword arts after he gets his hand on a useful familiar.

Cassius looks around for any useful materials that could be lying around in the fields that he could recognize, but sadly out of the many flowers anyone that he could possible find just seems to blind in practically with the other seas of colors. Cassius looks at the time, and sees that it has almost been a hour of two in his search for materials which is most likely the case from him having gotten lost in thought for quiet awhile hear and their. Lots of planning that needs to be done and accomplished and so many ideas to write down for future areas and designs he has in mind for his shop, and other facets of his life. It becomes difficult to not get lost in thought now and then do to that case of things.  Cassius goes over the other quests that exist, and nods his head finding one that would be rather useful in terms of taking on alongside all these rather basic quests. The one on the fifth floor would be an absolute breeze to accomplish something that wouldn't have been possible before do to its original design. If he had went into that quest before it was weakened he would have not made it as far as he is going to do so now. That fact also making him rather curious about the Cardinal system. Why would it create a quest, and then change it to make it easier. Isn't the purpose meant to challenge players? Also from what he has seen on the monument no player has died either from that quest so their is no risk at all in it, so why would the system change it at all. Interesting things to think of if the Cardinal system is that of a AI, and has learned compassion which has led to some quests being removed or changed to be more friendlier or non-existent to protect players from death.

Cassius nods his head figuring it is about time to go back to that NPC he doesn't even bother to remember the name of. Because why bother remembering such names if they won't have any impact after you leave their quests. All NPCs are is just ones and zeroes, so for players to get attached to their story or lives would be rather sad. Their are many players in this game they could go to for interaction if a player really needed that much stimulation so bad. To talk to a NPC during times of loneliness just shows that if they wish to survive that joining a guild , or something of the like would be the best bet over talking to something non-living. He looks around and spots another material and adds it to his inventory and then turns around and heads back to the town having found enough in his mind to get this quest over with. Their are many more things to plan, and do within this game. To do the earning a living quest forever is not on his list of priorities anywhere.

On his way back through the fields he did keep his eyes out for any flowers that could be used for his craft, but finds none to speak of. With that out of the way Cassius makes his way back into the Town of Beginning heading towards the same little alchemist shop he had entered before to begin this quest. Cassius sneaks through the side streets and alleyways to get to the shop without having to basically fight his way through hundreds of players. After about an hour walk of dark alleyways, and shadier parts of the town that some players have taken to residency of Cassius finds himself in front of the shop that he had started this day afternoon at. He enters the shop and sees the NPC once more and waves at him. Good evening sir i have the materials you wished for me to get. Cassius says in a polite tone to the NPC while being annoyed at having to do even this to NPCs encase a player walks in for this quest, or even worse encase NPCs can say their opinions of players to other players. Oh yes please come in come in i can't wait for you to make your first salve. The NPC says excitedly as he gestures for Cassius to follow which he does so.
