Vigilon picked up a book on blacksmithing earlier, because why not? He was reading it carefully, since a little knowledge might help with his crafting. Eventually, he stumbled upon shield forging. "Hmm....Ah, I get it now!" He checked the capabilities of his profession on the menu real quick, and noticed that he was now capable of making shields. Clearly the book had nothing to do with it, but at least he had a few tips, tricks, and shield styles to work with. He managed to make five tier one shields, two of them great, two of them epic, and one of them good. His last attempt was for a tier two shield, which he ended up having to melt back down into an ingot. "Yet again, it looks like it will take me some time to make the stronger items right..."

Vigilon ended up finding out that he was invited to...a wedding. He didn't expect that, but, well, why not? Maybe, just maybe, he might be able to make use of his last tier two material. "Alright...maybe I can craft this into a potential gift." He picked up the hammer, grabbed the material, and went to work at the forge. Unfortunately, the item didn't turn out to be what it needed to be. Vigilon placed his forehead on the anvil, and slammed his fist down on it. "Dang it! This isn't what I needed to make!" ...So what if he couldn't make something of perfect quality out of a tier two material? He still had three tier one materials left, and he had been able to make several perfect quality items with those so far... Unfortunately, he didn't have much luck with those, either. Two rares, and one....catastrophe. "...Must this kind of crap keep happening to me?" He asked aloud, despite that his small white frost dragon couldn't find any method of comforting him just yet.

With the Tournament fast approaching, Krysta looked throughout various shops, hoping to find something that may help her with combat against other players. Having nowhere else to turn at one point, she decided to go to her boyfriend's shop to see what he had up in stock. When she arrived, she looked throughout what was available, while Yolviinsil would take flight to find Veriost. "There must be something... Oh? What's this?" She found a shield made from white metal that was lined with silver. It was of elegant design, and Krysta began to think about whether or not she could use it. "I'm no tank...but that could sure help me out in a rough battle." After thinking it over, she brought the item up to the counter. "Hey, Alex, how much do you want for this?"

Vigilon had recently put up his notice showing that he was out of materials, and that customers would have to purchase from stock until later. "Business keeps dragging on day after day...hardly any customers, hardly any profit...This is why I'm not intending to be a shopkeeper, or actual blacksmith, in the real world. Then again...why did I pick such a secluded place to begin with!?!? It's near the summit of a freaking mountain!!! Just because the mountain is beside the settlement doesn't mean that the hike up here isn't at all grueling! ...*sigh*, maybe if I just focus on the positives, things will get better. I do have a fair amount of good quality items in stock, so I should be set for at least a small while before I have to start crafting again..." Pretty soon after he said this, he noticed someone enter. It was Krysta, his girlfriend. He smiled when he saw her. Veriost woke up to see Yolviinsil, and she yawned and stretched before deciding to play with her while she could. It was often rare for Veriost to be playful, but this playfulness wasn't nearly as rough as Velnia's, last time Vigilon had seen. Krysta came up to the counter with a shield. This was different. She would normally take a trinket or something like that when choosing a third item. There must have been something about it, probably stat-wise, that got her attention. "Well, a tier one perfect quality shield like this...for you, would be merely 525 col, or 5 materials. 25% off original price!" He answered with a smile.

@Krysta

Negotiated Price: 525 Col/5 T1 Materials

Vigilon named the price he was offering, smiling as he did so. Once again, it was a twenty-five percent discount. Whether the reason was being a fellow future Guild member(just like before), or just because she was his girlfriend, she didn't know which one of the two it was. Of course, it could have easily been both. Either way, it was very sweet of him. "Another discount? Alex, you really don't have to keep doing this for me, but thanks, that's very sweet of you." She paid for the item, and then she left the shop. Surely, at least for a while, what she just bought could be helpful in a fight, especially if it is a tight situation.

Alec had decided he needed a shield. He had heard good things said about a shop on Floor seven. It was located in the vicinity of a mountain on that floor. Alec made the trip and soon found it. It seemed to be a very nice shop, well built and sturdy if construction. Alec approached and wrapped his large hand around the handle and turned the knob. "Hello?" he booked as he stepped into the shop. "Is anyone here?" Alec took two steps into the shop and looked around. His massive six and a half foot frame being cramped had he stood in the doorway. He looked to the walls and eyed the weapons, armor and shields approvingly. "Yes." It seemed he had the right place he thought. His eye sight caught on one shield in particular. It had a tempered beveled edge and was made from a white metal. There was a very cool looking lightning symbol engraved on the front. Alec eyed it approvingly then looked around for the Shopkeeper or Blacksmith.

Name: Shield of the Thunderhearts
Your Profession: Blacksmith
Your Rank: 5
Item Type: Shield
Tier: 1
Enhancements: Mitigation, Thorns, Paralyze
Description: A tempered, beveled edged shield made from a white metal, andcapable of building up static. It has a cool-looking lightning symbol engraved on the front, and there are words engraved on theback of it, which read as thus: "When the tides rise, become the storm."

About an hour after the latest purchase, he heard a voice calling out, asking if anyone was there. "I'll be with you in a sec!" He was currently managing his forge. After all, a well-kept forge should be able to bring out better quality items...right? Well, let's just say that's what he hoped. Besides, it was good to have a well-kept forge anyway. When he came up to the counter, he noticed a large, muscular man eying the perfect quality shield he had in stock, the Shield of the Thunderhearts. "If you're interested in that shield, it'll be about 700 col, or seven tier one materials. Feel free to take your pick of which to pay if you're willing to buy it."

Alec eyed the Shield of Thunderhearts approvingly. This was exactly the type of shield he needed. It would provide him more protection plus damage an attacker and have a chance of of stunning them too. A large smile crept over Alec's face as he opened up his inventory and selected his Col. 700 seemed like an excellent price to him. This was perfect. "You have yourself a deal Sir." Alec's deep voice booked as he selected 700 if his Col. His Col total dropped and a small pile of coins appeared on the counter between the Blacksmith and himself. Alec offered his hand forward in shake to seal the deal. Alec couldn't wait to get this equip this shield and try it out! He had a feeling that his questing and combat experience was about to change drastically for the better. Today was looking to be a very good day Alec thought with a smile.

You enter this blacksmith shop and look around, entertained by the stone dragon carvings inside. What gets you more attention however is the numerous arsenals in display along with their price tags sitting beside them. You walk up to the items and look for something worth your purchase.

Your eyes catch two shields with different appearances and properties. The iron type simply protects you, while the ornate type does that and apparently regenerates your health. As good as that sound, you think you prefer to spend less and just rely on your potions, feeling confident that you can protect yourself still with your armor, shield and maybe luck. Heh.

You pick up the iron shield and pay 200 COL to the owner who is present here. You bow to him and mutter a thank you before leaving with your new toy.

Paid 200 COL for Iron Shield.

Cordelia stretched her back as she entered the shop. She was in need of a new weapon! She hasn't been dealing the... greatest damage she was really hoping for. She had spent a couple hours browsing other blacksmiths so far. But none of them had the type of weapon she needed. Like, come on!

Maybe this shop had what she was looking for? If not, she was just about ready to go home and call it a day.

The blonde scratched her chin as she examined each of the weapons one by one, but one of them specifically caught her eye. It was so... pretty!

"What do you think, Pacco?" She asked, turning her head to look at her familiar. The raven let out a tiny squawk, and that was good enough for her! She turned to the shopkeeper and grinned. "I'll be taking this one, thank you!"

Some of his items were being bought, that was a good thing...but now, he needed to get back to crafting. He started up his forge, and pulled out his materials. "It's been some time...well, time to get back to work." He pulled out one ore, and the result was one of the worst messes yet. He'd grown rusty in terms of how to watch himself around the forge, and he'd gotten himself a bit burned, and from this, his reaction caused him to accidentally destroy the item he was making. "Crap..." To make matters worse, he screwed up badly with another weapon-to-be, too. He tripped over some ore as he was moving a piece of white-hot metal, and wound up losing the material to the forge's flames. "How??" Then...things would get better. He managed to make a simple rapier of uncommon quality, then he made a rare one. The third success... He looked over to a material Krysta had given him earlier(OOC note, a RP material), and took it along with one of the other ores, and he got to work. Using both materials, he made a very cool-looking weapon, with an elegant decoration on the hilt, a bronze nightshade with a ruby in the center. "Now this is a weapon!" Needless to say, he was proud of his work. Finally, to top things off, he made an uncommon shield.

Another day came, and that meant another day of crafting. While Vigilon didn't have much to work with, it was better than having nothing at all. He would start up his forge, and get to work. He would end up creating one shield, and wasting his last two tier two materials on some failures. He'd failed to salvage one, and his second attempt would be another trip and lose to the flames. After that, he would focus on making tier one items again. he made three, and he wondered if they were really going to sell. Chances were, he might have to place all of the uncommon items he'd made for junk sale at the local merchant, for almost no one ever bought those...

Vigilon had hardly anything left to work with, but hey, it was better than nothing at all. He'd be able to get himself into material gathering shape one day. At least he was better than he used to be on the matter. He started up the forge and took some of his materials. He made an axe, he accidentally blew up an axe(into shards, obviously, and he took some time to fix the forge after it's flaming burst blew up the axe), he made an epic axe, and it even came with an inscription on it! He then made a neat pair of boots, and they were cold to the touch, despite being fresh from the forge. Must have been a material he used. The success would end there, as he would simply have some issues with the last two sets of armor he tried to make.

Vigilon hadn't really gotten enough materials to do a mass craft in a long while. But ever since the event, he had six materials from a tier three floor, and it was time to change things up a little. He picked up Hephaestus's hammer, started up the forge, and went to work.

He took an ingot from his stash, and it seemed like a mysterious metal he was kind of getting excited to use. He would begin working with the metal, and it would turn out to need a higher heat than he anticipated. The sword came out looking really epic, but...there was something about it. Maybe there were potential vanity effects within the metal he used to forge the weapon?

Whatever the case, he continued forging, and the bellows burst as he was using them. Welp, time to bring in the spare.

He salvaged one material, made a rare sword from another, salvaged yet another material, and then he forged an impressive weapon. As standard as it seemed, it had to be of some worth, especially due to its quality.

It was time for some mass crafting again. He'd also gotten an order, so now that his shop had been um... *ahem*, renovated slightly, he was ready to get back to forging equipment again.

His first attempt would be salvageable, but he messed up in that process pretty badly. He would attempt to forge more armor, but he had to salvage that one, too. At least he managed to do so. He then managed to turn the salvaged material into a set of steel armor. Next, he began to continue forging armor, and ended up having to salvage again. He took out a different ingot this time, and with it he forged something he could be proud of. He would reserve this one for the order. He then forged one more set of heavy armor, which turned out pretty nicely.

He then took the finished products and placed them where he needed to.

Lessa slipped into the shop, and closed the door as softly behind her as possible. On more than one occasion, she had barged into a shop while it's keeper and a customer were mid-conversation, and the jarring interruption had been both disruptive and embarrassing. As such, the woman had taken to entering stores a bit more discreetly, even if the shopkeep knew she was coming. This time, however, she found herself alone in the neat, tidy space. "Must have missed him," she whispered, taking a moment to sweep over the displays before venturing to the front desk. There, tucked away on a shelf, was her new armor. "Right where he said it would be." Scooping the item into her inventory, she called out, "Thank you so much for your hard work!"

After their little adventure with the Dragons, Astreya had been wondering how she might be able to step up and deal that same sort of damage that Krysta had managed to deal to the dragon they'd come across.  It wasn't really a danger to them, of course, especially as she'd found out how strong Vigilon and Krysta both were!

But she had realized that part of it had been down to her gear.  She wasn't really in possession of anything new- heck, she hadn't really actually gone out to get anything new since she'd started.  The stuff she'd started with got a little boost during the first system update... and she'd kept that all the way through.  But it was about time for something new.

Vigilon had let her know that he was a blacksmith and would be willing to work with her, and so she stopped into The Dragon's Flame, glancing around the interior with a small smile.  She paused, looking at the armor on display, but realized she wasn't yet strong enough to wear that...but made a mental note that it was here.  "Vigilon, you in?" she called as she absently began filling out the order forms.

It had been a fair amount of time since Vigilon had forged something, and now that he had plenty of materials, he might as well get back to it. He was preparing to start up the forge, when a familiar face entered the shop. "Yep, I'm- Oh, hey Astreya, it's good to see you again!" Vigilon responded. When Astreya finished filling out the order forms specifying what kind of gear she needed, Vigilon took a look at the forms, and started up the forge.

He managed to forge the ordered blade, first try. Then he'd need to make the armor that was requested.

His first attempt ended up coming out wrong, so he sighed and did what he could to salvage it. When he tried using that material again, it became a piece of equipment, yes, but not the one that he needed to make. He attempted another craft, but he realized a bit late that there was one crucial bit of maintenance he'd forgotten to do that was meant to keep the forge from having a fiery-

*Boosssssshhhhh!!!!*

Explosion.

Vigilon got back up, signaled a thumbs-up to show that he was fine, and he walked over to fix the damages and clean off the scorch marks from the forge.

Once that was taken care of, he forged one more incorrect armor and salvaged another attempt before feeling a bit tuckered out. "This could take a while..."

Now to try again...

Vigilon readied up his forge, and he actually did the required maintenance this time. That NPC really was right, he'd find. The efficiency in forging gear improves, but without proper maintenance and control, this strange powder-stuff is a real hazard. ...Well, at least he knew it was worth it.

He'd forged one set of Armor that didn't quite fit the order, and he ended up salvaging another. He proceeded to make the incorrect armor once more before finally crafting the gear Astreya needed. If she wasn't in the shop by the time he made the gear, he would message her that the items were ready.

After placing both completed items on the counter, he went off to forge two weapons because he could. One came out pretty well, but the other came out much better than expected.

With that, he'd return to the counter, where Astreya was probably waiting to purchase the items at this point. "Right, two Tier Three Perfect Quality pieces of Equipment, ready to go."

Astreya could have just left and buzzed off while Vigilon was working, but instead she had decided to stick around and watch.  She had chosen the Performer discipline, and so she was quite curious how some of the others worked.  And so as she watched the man work, she couldn't help but to be impressed (even with the enormous explosion that had erupted from the forge, prompting him to have to clean it).

Of course, she had ducked out for some food but had mostly just stuck around and chatted when he was free to chat, and keeping to herself when he needed to focus until the two were done.  As he showed them off, the woman grinned.  "Aw that's so cool!  You're the best!" she cheered, opening her inventory to handle the transfer of funds over to the man, and then received her weapon and armor.

"Once I get to 31 and I can use the really cool stuff I'll be back for another order so keep the forge cleaned!" she returned with a grin, happy with her current gear!
