Appearance: Aegean Harlock is a very large, 7'0 hulking brute of a man, with nothing but a pair of underwear on, his skin is your average Caucasian pigment. However he has scars that are riddled all over his body, head to toe, some large, some small. He has strikingly beautiful; indigo coloured eyes, and dark hair with streaks of white throughout it. His face is the worst of his injuries, having lost the left half of his face due to an accident, leaving the remaining skin charred and torn down to the bone/teeth showing where the cheek was torn away entirely. For clothes he usually wears a long dark trench coat with tattered ends and sections of it torn away and ripped. The tails of the trench coat are folded over 3 times, leaving a lighter grey stitching. He wears a grey buttoned up shirt with a collar beneath the trench coat, andd then a pair of grey leather trousers with black padding around the kneecaps. He wears a pair of black boots over his feet. Due to the mirror, his scarred body was revealed to the

world, and in an attempt to hide his face away, he bought a cold, rigid, metal mask with blackened out eyepieces that conceals his disfigured face.

 

History/Personality: Aegean Harlock, or rather, Archie Campbell was brought up to a fairly standard family, albeit being very tall in size, he always ended up being the ‘tall kid’ in class, and due to his height and strength. He became quite the athlete and ended up training towards becoming a bodybuilder. Besides his aspirations to become a bodybuilder, he is also an avid gamer, having enjoyed them all his life and finding a happy little escape in them when the time came to lay back and relax. He went on to get good grades in English, IT and Sports, and soon went on to university. However whilst driving one morning down a highway, there was a terrible car crash that sent cars into a small pileup. Having been the first on the scene, he quickly rushed to the aid of the trapped or unconscious drivers and passengers, but not before a speeding truck carrying oil spun out, and rolled into the crashed cars as Archie was running towards the accident. The oil would ignite and soon exploded, sending shards of burning metal flying in all directions, many of which struck Archie, and forevermore disfigured his entire body to the point where he was called a Frankenstein for his looks.

However, when he learnt of the upcoming VRMMORPG called Sword Art Online, he was quick to get in the waiting line, seeing this as his way of being able to escape reality and be seen for who he really is, and not judged by the way he looks. And now here he is, Aegean Harlock, trapped in the game, and his physical features once again shown to the world. Now he’s desperate to finish the game and make amends with life. He now hopes that his family doesn't take his Fulldive helmet off in order to try and get him out of the game. He also wishes to strive past his inner struggles with the public seeing his face, and be able to face it with pride and strength.

 

Virtues:

- Selfless: Aegean has always had a divine sense in wanting to help those who can’t help themselves, and will do everything in his power to help those who really need it. He finds it impossible to stand by and let something bad happen. Now he's in this death game, he'll be more selfless than ever in order to save those he cares for.

- Gentle: Towards many, he can come across as hard, cold, and gruff, but to something like children, or those who are scared and frightened of the possibility of death, he stands by them, takes care of them, and does his best to cheer them up and laugh. Considering how it's affected many in the game psychologically, he always understands and wants to give back to others. If someone came to him and cried on his shoulder, he wouldn't shrug it off or see it as weak, he'd take care of the person.

- Stoic: Aegean is steadfast in the face of danger, never showing fear and courageous. Or whilst enduring pain for another, without showing regret or remorse for taking pain or hardship for someone else, at the cost of his own. If it means defending another, he will fight fiercely until those he's protecting are safe once more and the threat has passed.

 

Flaws:

• Stubborn: Though being stoic can be a virtue in its own right, it also allows for one to be stubborn as a mountain. Even when the odds are against him and any other sane person may decide a tactical retreat may be better, Aegean is defiant and proud. This stubborn pride is one of his bigger weaknesses as he never wants to be seen as weak.

• Shy/Withdrawn: Due to his physical disfigurement, Aegean has never been too keen on showing others what he really looks like, in case those people may think different of him for his looks, he tends to keep to himself. Besides that he's a loner, not wanting others to be caught up in his troubles. He doesn't feel like others would understand him or like him for him, or even love him.

• Cold: Aegean comes across as cold and hard to most, not wanting to betray his possible true emotions feeling like doing so would make him more vulnerable. Instead he opts to be cold towards others, even if at times he really doesn’t mean to be. This is also due to reactions he gets from his face being seen, the shock, horror, and disgust on people's faces as they see his own draw him to closing up and pushing others away.
