[PP-F3] The Minotaurs, the Rivals, and the Pendant <<Search for the Hoya>>

Laida realized what enhancement the griffin had when it raised it's talon to strike her. "Oh, Darn!" The damage was mitigated, but she was still frozen solid. "Laida!" Krysta noticed that the damage done to Laida was mitigated only after she ended up frozen. "Oh...at least she's going to be fine. If that griffin I'm facing ends up getting a strong, paralyzing hit on me, I wouldn't be sure what to do..." Vigilon missed the griffin he was battling against, but the creature was too stunned to retaliate, or make an attack prior to Vigilon's. He should be able to keep trying, though. Krysta turned to see the Thunder Griffin attack her with a paralyzing strike. Krysta fell onto the ground on her back. Vigilon called out her name. "I-I'm fine! Finish the Griffin you're currently fighting first! I think I can handle this one!" Hopefully, Vigilon wouldn't end up worried. "Darn paralysis." She thought to herself.

The other two players were rendered helpless due to the monsters' attacks. This couldn't be good. The griffin Laida was facing managed to land a hit, but it wasn't all that major. Krysta tried to reassure Vigilon, and in a way, she was right in the sense that she was taking less damage than Vigilon. Vigilon was fighting with the risk of getting burned, while Krysta only had a chance to be disabled for the amount of time as a simple stun. "...All right, but I'll jump in when things get too difficult!" He turned back to see the Blaze Griffin ready to attack him. "All right, come at me, and we'll see how this goes once I've warmed up with a few hits." Okay, so the Blaze Griffin came at Vigilon and dealt some damage. At least he was able to get a good opportunity to retaliate, inflicting bleed in the process. "Ha, why don't you enjoy a taste of your own medicine?" It seemed that the Thunder Griffin was either a raging berserker or had poor eyesight, because it somehow missed a paralyzed target.

Laida was freed from the ice, but that came with an attack. She shook herself off, then she retaliated with an attack that hit the target hard enough to finish off the griffin. "That'll teach you."   Vigilon told Krysta that he would only jump in if things got difficult. She watched as The Blaze Griffin managed to deal damage to Vigilon, and then there was a strong retaliation that inflicted bleed on the monster. The Thunder Griffin missed Krysta, and she found herself able to move again. "Great, I can move again! You! Prepare yourself!" Krysta took a justified battle stance, and rushed in to attack. She dealt a well placed attack using the Sword Art known as Crucifixion. The Thunder Griffin's HP was in the yellow now, close to red. It wouldn't be long before she finished off the creature that stood before her. "I'll be able to return to the safe zone, Mitria. I'll come back with the pendant!"

In time, this fight would be dealt with, and these bothersome enhanced griffins would be defeated. Vigilon noticed that Laida had managed to finish off the griffin she was fighting against. Krysta managed to make a deep cut in the Thunder Griffin's HP, bringing it close to the red. The only griffin that still had green HP was the Blaze Griffin Vigilon was facing. "You've been in fighting shape for too long already. I should get that changed. I'll let you go first as usual though, if you're actually looking for a clean fight." The Blaze Griffin stared blankly at him. "Well? Aren't you going to do something, feather puffball?" The Blaze Griffin clearly didn't like that. It suddenly lunged at Vigilon, giving him another burn. "Why did I even say that?" He was able to retaliate with the Sword Art known as Vertical Arc, bringing the monster's HP down to yellow. He'd have to be careful, or his HP would wind up in the yellow, too. The Thunder Griffin clearly had some trouble aiming at Krysta, for it ended up crashing onto the ground. Did one of Krysta's attacks get it in the eyes or something?

Laida looked over to the two players, seeing that they were still fighting their griffins. "I guess I'll just watch for now. If things get really bad, I'll jump in then. This is their fight, I shouldn't disrupt it. I do like keeping others safe, but it's just as good to see players being able to handle themselves." Krysta saw Vigilon end up getting a powerful blow on him after he called the creature a name. From the creature's response, it might have been prideful as a hippogriff. Vigilon was at least able to drop it's HP to the yellow, though. Laida winced at what happened. "Ooh, I don't wanna be him right now." Krysta felt something similar, for it kind of hurt just thinking about it, especially that it was her boyfriend getting attacked! Krysta turned to see the Thunder Griffin recklessly rushing for her. Krysta sidestepped, and the creature crashed into the ground. "Might as well take this chance while I can" She thought. She attacked with the Sword Art Crucifixion once more, finishing off the Thunder Griffin. The loot menu appeared, showing she had managed to loot 450 col, two materials, and two consumables.

Laida watched the players fight. Vigilon guessed that she would only jump in if things got too rough. Krysta was able to take down the Thunder Griffin, and loot it, too. Now all that was left was this bothersome, easily offended Blaze Griffin. He'd already riled it up with some of his words, and it was likely that it was still mad at Vigilon for being called a feather puffball. "Heh, so if there's one thing we actually have in common, it's gotta be nerve. Now, we just have to see who has more willpower to stay in the fight!" The Blaze Griffin just wanted to continue. Vigilon managed to jump out of the way just in time to avoid the attack. However, he tumbled before he could have a chance to make an attempt to retaliate. Slightly dizzy, he looked to his left to see his sword in a tree. "*sigh*, Figures."

Laida continued to watch the fight. Krysta had already finished hers, but Vigilon's was still ongoing. Vigilon had managed to avoid the Blaze Griffin's attack, but he ended up with yet another mishap. His sword got stuck in a tree. Krysta couldn't just watch this keep going. She had to do something and help out her boyfriend. Laida saw the look in Krysta's eyes, and said, "Hey, there's nothing stopping you from jumping in. I might be waiting for things to go downhill first, but it's pretty much your fight. I only wanted to keep that one I was facing at bay. Go on, do what you've gotta do!" Krysta looked back at the creature, and decided to go for it. She attacked the Blaze Griffin using the Sword Art known as Crucifixion, bringing the monster's HP down to red. "I will not stand idly by while my boyfriend gets hurt!"

Vigilon began tugging on his sword, trying to wrench it free. "Dang sword- Would you just- Nrrrgh!" It took a minute or more to finally get the sword out of the tree. Vigilon would turn to see the Blaze Griffin get attacked by Krysta. Having just finished a fight, wouldn't she need to recover? "J-jewel?? What are you-" Krysta spoke aloud the reason for her attack. The Blaze Griffin huffed. Interruption. This was one of the things it hated. The girl's intentions may have been honorable, but this wasn't needed. It turned it's attention back to Vigilon. "Oh. I see how it is." At least Krysta shouldn't be getting hurt. Vigilon readied his weapon, but he would sidestep before attacking. The Blaze Griffin missed by about an inch. Vigilon then attacked using the Sword Art known as Rage Spike, finishing off the Blaze Griffin. He let out a sigh of relief as the Griffin shattered. "Phew! finally, that's over with..."

Laida watched Krysta charge in to help out Vigilon. "It's always nice to know there are players always willing to help each other out..." Vigilon avoided the Blaze Griffin's attack before finishing it off with Rage Spike. It was finally over. "Phew, glad that's over..." Krysta then looked to the stone that had basically summoned the creatures. It seemed like it could be... She walked over, and with some difficulty, she moved the top half of the stone off, revealing the chest hidden within. "Do you think the griffins were guarding this? It would explain why they would arrive whenever someone came over to the stone." Laida shrugged. "Beats me. All I knew about the stone was that it summoned fairly tough mobs that were always griffins. I guess Kaldui never thought about the possibility of a chest being within the stone..." Krysta pulled out the chest and set it on the ground.

Krysta walked over to the stone that Vigilon had activated. She pushed it's top half off to reveal...a chest?? "...A chest? Man, you could never tell just by glancing at it." Krysta asked if the chest was merely being guarded by the griffins, as it would explain why they would spawn whenever someone touched the stone. "I actually never thought of it that way..." Laida gave her thoughts, while mentioning someone familiar. "Wait, you know Kaldui? Akward in social situations, but has a burning rage that can scare the crap out of you AND give you nightmares? That Kaldui?" He did know of a tier two player named Kaldui. Well, anyways...moment of truth...here goes..." He reached his hand out towards the chest, but slowed to a stop when he heard a breathing noise come from the chest. He began to back away when suddenly the chest- no, MIMIC lunged at Vigilon, dropping his HP to the yellow. "AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!"

Laida noticed that Vigilon seemed to know Kaldui. "Ahaha, yup, that Kaldui. From what I can guess, you're the one she'd escorted through floor seventeen, right?" Both players decided to watch as Vigilon would open the chest. Well, he almost did, until he realized it was actually a mimic, and it was then that it decided to lunge at him in a way that could make you think of a jumpscare. "Aahh!!" Laida pulled out her weapon, but little did she know the ground she was standing on wasn't exactly stable. The patch of dirt gave way under the combined weight of her and her armor, and she tumbled down a few feet. Krysta ran to the edge of the hole. "Laida! Are you alright?" Laida got up, and replied with, "I'm fine. However, I won't be able to get back up very easily. Go and help Vigilon!" Krysta noticed that Vigilon's HP was now in the yellow. He was clearly in no position to take on this creature. Krysta ran over to him and activated First Aid, restoring a smidgen of his HP. However, this couldn't possibly be enough to keep him alive. Something had to be done, and fast!

Kasier was never on this floor. To her, this was one of those floors where nothing really happens. Nothing exciting ever comes from here, and it was practiaclly a bridge to the higher floors. However, there were actually a decent amount of materials here for players to search if they have the patience to do so, especially forest herbs... and there were some pretty rare ones out there. In search of one of these herbs for her own crafting in the kitchen, Kasier held her chin up high. After a morning of no results, Kasier found herself staring at the ground as she headed back to the safe zone. It was to be expected though, since Kasier had no skill points invested in any luck or scout-related skills. She had basically been wasting her time, and that was her own fault. It was then that she heard the sound of a female screaming to help somebody. With a quick motion, Kasier directed her attention to the source of the voice. There were several players fighting what seemed to be a mimic that had come out of an open chest. One player was on the ground, and the other player seemed to be using First Aid on another party member. They seemed to be struggling to say the least, considering what Kasier perceived to be looks of frustration and desperation.

With a sigh, Kasier activated her <<Howl>> skill, engaging herself in the combat. With a loud, feminine shout, the mimic's attention was directed right at Kasier. "Sorry," Kasier scratched her blonde hair, "Was that too loud?"

After having taken some damage, Vigilon managed to get the thing off his face, holding it away from him as it's teeth lined lid kept snapping rapidly. Krysta came over and used First Aid on Vigilon, restoring his HP back to green. However, it wouldn't matter very much if this thing kept managing to snap at his face. Vigilon managed to toss it two meters away from him, giving him time to stand up again. "Thanks, Jewel. Now we need to-" He was actually going to say "run", but a shout that must have been howl interrupted him. The mimic stopped, and slowly turned around to see the new arrival in the conflict. Vigilon was at a loss of words for a second or two, but then his response was able to come out. "Actually, I think that was just enough." The mimic snarled at her, taking the shout to be a battle challenge, and it rushed over in an attempt to attack. Vigilon rushed after the mimic as it made it's way towards the player that caught it's attention. It lunged and missed, then Vigilon would take the opportunity while he had it, and stun the monster using the Sword Art known as Horizontal Square. "That should hold it for a bit."

When Krysta looked at where the mimic came from, it had apparently hidden itself within the chest. That was something you don't see every day. What a clever trick. Laida continued to try climbing back up, and though she made little progress, she would eventually get back up. She heard the shouting cry, and then she heard the mimic heading over. "Well, it seems like the rescue has arrived! Talk about Deus ex Machina!" Krysta looked over to the player that had just involved herself in the fight. The mimic attempted to attack the new arrival, but failed to do so, and was then stunned by Vigilon's attack. As long as his HP was this close to yellow, with the known damage output of the mimic, Krysta decided it would be best for her to stick to making sure he would be fine. She rushed over to him, and placed a glowing white hand on him, restoring his HP. "We can make it through this!"

Kasier saw that both of the players had already been damaged in some way. As a tank/healer, Kasier had no ability to deal damage to the Mimic, so she would have to just let the guy keep hitting the mob while she has its attention. The other girl seemed to be a healer as well, but her first aid seemed to be too low of a rank to bring the DPS's health way up. At the moment, Kasier should still be able to hold the mob's attention for the next few attacks, so the situation was completely handled right now. In addition, Kasier can attempt to heal all of the players up a bit, so they can be completely free from the risk of death. It's been a while since Kasier last used <<Field Medic>>, but she sure was glad that she was able to do so for once. As a healer, she found it very difficult to put to use her healing due to the nature of this game, but since she has the ability to do so, she will take advantage of it when she is given the opportunity to do so. Kasier braced herself having watched the health points of her fellow party members increase. Next turn, she'll probably give the DPS a small little damage boost. It was the sequence of support skills that she tended to use during combat... and once again it has come into play.

Krysta came over to Vigilon to heal him a bit more, and she told him they could make it through this situation. "Well, we've already been through more than enough, but I guess one more fight shouldn't be too bad, now that the tables have turned." He said as he looked towards the stunned mimic. He readied his weapon, ready to strike the darn thing. He'd fought plenty today, and hopefully, this would be the last one, and they could return to the safe zone afterwards. He rushed for the mimic and attacked with the Sword Art known as Vertical Arc, dealing a small bit of damage to the mimic. He was sure that he could eventually take it down, especially since he now had what seemed to be both a tank and a healer to keep him from dying here. "Not so tough once the target's health is restored, are you?"

Krysta noticed that both her and Vigilon's HP had been restored, and thus Vigilon was going to be fine. Laida had managed to get her head and arms out of the hole, and was currently trying to pull herself the rest of the way back up. She noticed the three players involved in combat with the mimic. She had originally hoped to help, but this time, she would let this new arrival in the conflict have her chance. After all, everyone deserved a chance. No longer worried about whether or not Vigilon was going to be okay, Krysta turned her attention towards the mimic. Vigilon managed to strike the creature, and now it was her turn to do so. Unfortunately, she ended up timing her strike too late, for she had missed the creature by about an inch. At least they didn't really have to worry as much anymore as they did when this started.

Kasier sighed. It seemed that the situation was under control at this point, and everything should be perfectly fine for the time being. The only thing that Kasier wasn't assured of is the fact that the damage dealer had managed to regain some of the hate that had been previously occupied by Kasier. The Mimic was starting to look more at the DPS, and it was unsettling for her that the Mimic might actually starting attacking the damage dealer once again. Kasier opened her menu, and prepared yet another howl, with the same intensity as the one that she had entered the battle with. "And... another howl," Kasier declared, drawing her body back before releasing a heavy, girl version of howl. Immediately, the mimic turned towards her immediately, and Kasier knew that she had done her job successfully. I can literally just stand here and take one damage per hit, and if it lands a critical, it gets paralyzed too. Kasier thought, it is statistically impossible for anything bad to happen right now. Now that her planned action of giving the DPS a bit more damage was ruined, she shall simply do it during her next opportunity. For now, she just wanted to ensure the lower-leveled players safety, even if the battle takes a bit longer. "DPS, don't waste too much energy right now, I'll give you a small damage boost next turn." Kasier said quietly as she walked closer to the DPS.

Vigilon was happy to know that Krysta didn't need to worry about his HP level anymore, and had returned to the fight. However, the mimic had gotten back up in time to avoid Krysta's attack. The player that came to assist in the combat used Howl again, assuring that she would have, and hopefully keep, the mimic's attention. She also walked closer to Vigilon, and recommended that he not use up so much energy right now, since she would be giving him a damage boost soon. Vigilon decided to stick with this player's strategy. The mimic snarled, and bared it's teeth, rushing for the player in an attempt to strike her. The mimic could have sank it's sharp teeth deep into it's victim's flesh, but the armor and shield had gotten completely in it's way, paralyzing it to boot. As it fell to the ground on it's back, anyone could tell that it was seriously annoyed with it's situation.

Krysta saw how, with the two successful attacks Vigilon had landed, the mimic was slowly returning it's attention to him, causing her to become worried again, only to exhale a sigh of relief when the assisting player used Howl again. Laida continued to watch all of this as she climbed out. The three players would surely take it down soon enough. The assisting player recommended to Vigilon that he not use up all of his energy at this current moment, since she was going to give him a damage boost. Vigilon waited so he could recover his energy, so he must have decided to stick with the suggested plan. Krysta watched the mimic attack the player, only to get paralysis, and the damage it dealt was so minuscule, she could hardly see any change in the player's HP. Krysta decided to try another attempt to deal some damage as well, now that the creature was paralyzed. She took a justified battle stance, and rushed for the helpless mimic. "You will regret harming him!" She attacked with Crucifixion, dropping the mimic's HP close to half.
