PP-F16) Pirating the Pirates <<The Swashbuckling Buccaneer>>

Recommended Posts

Jonathan stood and moved out of the building, moving through his inventory to equip some of his assault battle gear. He moved back to the dock, finding the sailor and his uncle. He brought a finger to his lips to signal a hush. After Stryder and he would get onto the boat, the sailor would start rowing them towards the other shore. After a span of a long and boring ten minutes, they would finally reach the other shore. After getting off, the Sailor's uncle began the journey back. "ere' follow me boys" The sailor would say. He would lead them up a path, pointing at a ramp that would lead up into the ship. Jonathan looked back to Stryder and silently gestured a question. 'You ready?' Before he began to walk up the ramp onto the ship. Laughing voices of the enemy pirates were heard, but in an unsinister way, telling them that they hadn't been noticed yet. Jonathan unsheathed his weapon, moving forward. Making no attack yet, he looked to the pirates. "Any good loot lately gentlemen?" The men jumped out of their seats, the pirate with the name <<Boatswain Amir>> dropping and shattering a bottle of alcohol. "Ey' Ya arr gunna die fer that" He said.

"Stryder, Focus attack, Amir"

Sky moved alongside the frontliner, a little worried about the battle coming, considering he hadn't been on a quest like this before, but he was also excited. He hadn't yet lost a fight, and he wasn't about to start! He opened his inventory while walking, checking to make sure he had all his gear.

Gloves, Jacket, and my armor, alright, good to go

He followed Jon, and that salior person onto the boat, which then rowed them to the other shore. It was an... interesting 10 minutes, quiet, not much talking, kinda boring, they reached it. The sailor told them to follow, and they did. Following up the ramp, being a few feet behind Jon, seeing his gesture a question. He simply smiled, giving a thumbs up as a response. He watched all of them, the three laughing around what looked like there captain... or osmethin like that. He then heard it, Jon telling him to attack the one with the Amir name. He nodded, walking up to them. They were all laughing and were distracted, so they didn't notice him walk up. He tapped the Amir on the arm, and when he turned around a blue fist clogged him in the head, sending him barrelling into a table, almost half his HP having been removed from the single hit.

"Out of the way" He says, blowing on his hand.

As Stryder sneaked behind the men, he would slam his fist in the main boss, draining it to about half health. "Nice!" Jonathan would charge forward, preparing to deal as much damage with an AOE attack. "Alright yo scallywags! You can call me the Pirate Knight, guardian of the booty!" He chuckled before activating his sword art. Standing int he middle of each of his opponent, his weapon would blaze with a blue light. He would kick off of the ground, slashing and hacking his way through the opponents. As he finished, each of them were inflicted with multiple slashes on their body. With a smile he turned to the pirates. "A lesson ye be taught" he told them. Each of them looked at him except Amir who was focused on Stryder due to his critical hit. Amir would attack first, attacking with a powerful attack that hit both he and Stryder, dealing minor damage to him and a bit of damage to Stryder. The three deckhands would attack next, the first being quickly blocked and knocked away by his own foot. The second and third would attack with speed and quickness, managing to make small incisions into his body.

"Take out the Boatswain!"

The start of the fight went well, he had gotten a solid hit onto the boss, and Morgen had leapt in and smacked all the others. However, the boatswain managed to readt quicker than he thought he would, the rip of its blade scrapping past Sky's chest, getting a large portion of his health down, well, not that much, but still enough that he felt it. He heard Morg yell for him to kill the Boatswain. He decided to do just that. He quickly dashed in, the swain trying to move around and get a jab in as he ran up, though the guantlets which protected his arms had the blows glance off them. His familiar, Silver, rushed in and distracting Amir, before her master landed a solid punch with a glowing blue fist that knocked him into the railing of the boat, almost sending him over the edge, his HP going down to the red, nearly being depleted.

"Dam, little bit more and the bastard would have dropped dead"

They would begin taking out each of the enemies quickly, Jonathan taking on the minions, while Stryder dealt the main of the force to the Boatswain. As Amir's HP dropped severely low, Jonathan would block an incoming swing before yelling to him to begin using AOE attacks. After Amir, was done, they could focus damage on the other one and get this quest done and over with. He refocused on his own fight and activated his sword art. With this attack, he would have to take out the boatswain and hurt the other guys. He would charged the boatswain first, who tried to dodge, but Jonathan cut through his chest, the man dissolved into shards of data. Using his momentum, he would attack the others, hitting two and but leaving one. "Alright, Stryder switch to an AOE attack."

Morgenstern called for him to use an AoE, and he watched as the tank did just that, slashing up the guy he had smacked twice. He had almsot killed him... barely had survived. He was a little pissed off, he was so weak... He dashed in, spinnin around as his foot went out at all three, smacked all three of the pirates for a fair amount, though barely anything. Two of them were almost dead... But one was well and truely up and about.

"I'm so weak dammit!" He yells, hating his own AoE. He knew he needed more! Maybe pick up a different weapon... Battleaxe was good for AoE's if he remembered right... He really wished that he had that already, but it was going to take time to fully master that weapon alongside his current one. Soon, after this, he had a plan. He knew soon he could do it, maximise his potential.... Get a second weapon, alongside these gloves.... He might be able to do soemthing.

The blond heard a yell coming from Stryder as he complained that he was so weak. "Probably because you are a single target hitter. Unless you have a battle ax or THSS, you aren't doing good AOE DMG" Jonathan prepared his weapon, activating an AOE sword art. "However, you made it so that I am able to deal the finishing blow!" Charging forward, his wepaon would emit a blue light. Twirling with his weapon, his blade would arc towards the chest of each of his enemy. Speeding up faster, he would become a tornado of a weapon. Then, he would stop abruptly, sending a sharp blast in a circle around him. While he got two of the deckhands, the healtheir deckhand managed to duck underneath his blow, dodging the damage. The other two however, burst into data crystals. Looking towards Stryder, Jonathan would call to him. "Alright, back to single target damage. One guy left and we can move on" Jonathan backed away, but wasn't able to prevent a blow from the deckhand. However, the damage wasn't even enough to phase him.

Because he was a single hitter.... He had just thought of that himself, he did need to pick up battle axe or the two handed sword. Which one... he didn't know yet. He would find one which finds right. He watched as Morgen prepped his weapon, and then dashed in, twirling in a beautiful blue light. Each of the enemies got a arc across the chests, as he sped up and became a tornado. WHile two were cut up, exploding into crystals, one had managed toduck underneith the blow, and smack him hard in the side, though it did nothing to the armored giant.

Jeesus, this guy is strong. That hit would have hurt me

"Got it!" He called as he dashed in, the deckhand only just trying to pull back after hitting Morg. He cut him off, using the weightless feelign of the light armor he was wearing to move at an insane speed, ending up right next to the pirate, then a right hook, and a flash of blue, and it was over. The last pirate was knocked back, smacking into the side of the boat and exploding as it fell overboard.

"Phew... alright, thats over... Only one issue, my energy is almost depleted... The big weakness to using Martial arts, you lose your energy at the snap of a finger..."

Jonathan would watch as Stryder slammed his fist into the deckhand, the pirate falling back and breaking into data shards. Taking a breath of relief, Jonathan would sheathe his weapon. "We should retreat some before the mobs come out. This is a pretty time consuming quest I'd say" Jonathan would wave Stryder over, indicating that he should follow him off the ship. The pirates mitigation was rather small, but it was just enough to be annoying. The final boss would most likely have even more, but with single target attacks it should go rather quickly. "I have decided, I hate pirates. They just are not falling fast enough for my tastes. Its what I get for being a tank" Chuckling he would look back towards the ship. 'From what I remember from the details, we have one or two more deckhands, another boatswain, and the captain himself. After that, our job is done. Stryder should gain some good levels form this since he is a tier two player. They level up a bit faster than I do'

The fight was finally over. Jon started saying how much he hated the pirates, how they didn't fall fast enough, and thats what he gets for being a tank. He was glad this guy was a tank, if he wasn't... He might not have survived. Sky knew this much, he knew how week he was, and how bad he was going to be in the raids to come. All the boss fights, he just... DIDN'T have the strength. Sky followed him off the ship, leaning against, a nearby rock.

"It wouldn't be so time consuming if i could do AoE... I really need to pick up a battleaxe" He says, then notices a white fluff, then feels his hand being licked. He turns and smiles at his familiar, glad she was here and safe.

"For a tank, your still a pretty good fighter. I'v never really gone on many adventures with a tank, but i didn't imagine them being able to fight efficiently with a weapon. I expected them to be just, holding a shield and drawing attention. Its nice to see i'm wrong" He says with a smile towards the tank he was on a quest with.

Jonathan shrugged as the man began to talk about how it was due to his weapon sucking. He looked over to Stryder. "Some weapons have obvious advantages over others. The two-handed weapons receive so much more power its not even funny. It all depends on the play style you want to run. You obviously fancy a AOE attack build. Good for farming, not good for bosses unless the boss has multiple sections to hit or has minions. Afterwards, it all depends on what enhancements you got. I had a buddy once, name was Beatbox. His power was something else and he had a one-handed straight sword. He never missed a target unless the target had the highest evasion. He had one of the top damages with one of the weakest weapons. Funny how that works huh?"

He would yawn but return his attention after Stryder mentioned his damage as a tank. "Well you see, most tanks go for total support. I am going for a bruiser build, my skills are liable to change because I am too close to a tank. I can tell you, ever single frontline tank is different. Shield is focused on tanking and buffing. Hestia has a wide range of everything. I am focused on damage and mitigation"

His friend... Beatbox, he seemed like he was one of a kind. Never missing, unique enhancement, and somehow managing to have one of the top damages... Using a one handed straigth sword. He sounded like someone he was would want to meet. It sounded really... Well, good. Then he went into how he was going with his own build. He mentioned Hestia, and shield.

"Huh... Well, i guess i'm going for more of a duel weapon at the moment. I'm going to try and finish up my charge, then move into a battle axe as a second weapon... And i don;t know how well Hestia is going, i mean, how can a build with everything specialize? You can probably deal more damage then she can, and shield can probably be a better tank then her... Guess i'l learn soon when i join the frontlines..." He said to him, patting his wolf as he looks at the boat. He really hoped it didn't just up and leave....

Jonathan realized after a moment that he had just kind of filled the air with noise. He wasn't even sure if what he had just said was beneficial to the man in any way. However, when he got an honest reply, Jonathan understood that he was soaking up the random info like a sponge. "You are right. Shield has more mitigation and I have more damage. However, Shield has no damage at all, and I have no support at all. Hestia has all three. She is good to fill gaps" He really had not seen much of Hestia lately, so he had no idea how she really had been doing.  "I think they call it jack of all trades, master of none or something like that" Stretching for a quick second he would look to Stryder one final time before looking back to the boat. "Looks like I am all rested up. You all good to go kick the crap out of some more pirates? Same plan, worked pretty good last time"

It felt like an eternity had passed, though there little chat had continued about the frontliners. Shield had more mitigation, he had more damage. It isn't surprising in that front, hestia has support, damage and tanking. He really doesn't know how the hell they actually work after all - He barely dealt enough damage with martial arts, let alone trying to do it with his points speced in mixing branches. It was.... kind of annoying. "They can do what they want really... Jack of all trades might suit them, but it in no way suits me what so ever. Im always going to be the kind of guy to go in punching, i don't think i'l ever change that" He says to Morg, before looking at his stats. His energy had returned, finally. "Seems im good to go to. So il deal with the deckhands... This is going to be a nightmare with martial arts, i can't wait until i get batte axe"

"Well if your energy is back, I suppose we had better get back to the fight. I feel like this has taken an entire year man!" He pulled out his weapon. "I'll keep it up with my AOE attacks, just pummel that other Boatswain lady Jessamine thing!" He leapt up forward, his curved sword in his hand. Although it was the only weapon he had used, it felt like it had been so long since he had used it. Was that weird? Activating his Butterfly Illusion Sword art, a bright blue flash would ignite from his weapon. "TAKE THIS MATEYS!" His weapon slashed into each of his opponents and only one of them managed ot hit him back. Weaklings all of them. They were mid-tiered and he felt like had had frontlined for years and fought much harder enemies than this. "Hit that boss lady!" He told Stryder, moving out of the way so that the man could get involved on the action of fighting.

So, all he had to do was pummel the pretty girl? Got it, that was easy for him to do. Normally he didn't like hitting girls outside of umm, specific circumstances But he knew he had no choice right now. They were fighting enemies that would kill them without hesitation, so, well.... he would do the same. He watched as his teamate leapt up, and activated his sword art, saying a really cliche pirate line. He leapt up after he did his aoe, leaping over his teammate to deliver a right hook into the Boatswains face. "Enjoy being fisted in the face!" He says before leaping back behind the semi tank. He had gotten a good hit in - But.... for some reason he felt like he would be able to hit harder normally. It really was strange, he felt so weak. More so then normal - it was really strange. He hadn't leveled up for awhile, so why did he feel lioke he could do so much better.

Stryder's attack against the woman was rather powerful, bringing her down below even the deckhands in health. It seemed that this would be over faster than he thought and he had just overexaggerated how long this would take. With another couple AoE's, all the enemies in front of him would be down for the count and leave them only the captain and their rewards. "Nice, lets keep up the momentum!" Jonathan charged forward with his sword, targeting one after another with a set of slashes against their chests. Each of his attacks met their back and knocked back the deckhands, however, the Boatswain fought back fiercely, sweeping low and knocking him to the ground. Her damage of course was not near enough to actual get through his myriad of defenses, but his accuracy stat seemed to be temporarily lowered. "Finish her off with an AOE!"

The callout went through his head, and he turned to do an AoE, Tornado Kick. In his haste to respond to his order, he messed up, his kick mising her completely, but it still hits the other two, bringing them down extremely low. They were close to death, they all were! One more good hit from him might be enough to finish this fight... That was good. He didn't want to have to fight for longer then he needed to, he was still too weak in long and prolonged fights. One day, he might be able to maintain this, but right now he was not. Which SUCKED SO MUCH!

"She avoided it, their all low, best of luck!" He calls out, leaping back into a semi defensive stance. He could do more. He knew that in the future he would be able to kill the strongest monsters with relative ease. Maybe not labyrinth or floor bosses, but these weaklings? No trouble.

He watched as Stryder burst into an AOE attack, dealing a good amount of damage to the henchman of the enemy and bringing them down to the point that he could begin cleaning up. "Good, this should wrap up rather nicely." He brandished he curved blade, smiling wickedly at his targets. "Let's finish this, shall we?" He rushed forward, his blade alighting with a blue aura. He barreled forward at his first opponent, his blade cutting through it cleanly. The data shards would fill the air as he charged the next opponent, making four slashes at its body. The tip of the blade scratched the clothing of his opponent but didn't cut it to defeat it. It retalliated with a slash, cutting into him but not dealing any damage to be considerable. It did throw him off balance to give the deckhand a change to get in and attack through his defenses, actually dealing something to him. "That smarts" he stated plainly. "Stryder, be a good man and finish those off would you?"

Wrap up nicely? Had he really done 'Good'? He was useless. Look at it, with an axe he was SURE he could have killed them all in one fell swoop. But, this guy was using a weapon just as bad as his. A one handed sword.... He watched as he did hs own AoE, and he got hit it seemed, but it was lall good because this guy was a tank. Sky ran in after he did his attack, leaping as he was told to finish them off, spinning and doing another Tornado kick, and this time all those around him died. All three of them dropped dead, and vanished into particles.

"Okay... so how many more we got?" He says, panting with a low energy score. It was exhausting fighting like this... It was endless. They had so much to do. By his estimate, they had what... Two more to go? One more 'Boatswain', and the captian or something?

"I'v got about half energy left.... We could probably kill one more boatswain before we rest"
