Namida Akai always got what she wanted from the moment she could speak, despite this Namida is kind and courteous to those who help her. As she grew up in elementary school she was constantly accompanied by one of the sons of her father’s bodyguards, Shisen. They were inseparable, pulling off many a prank on their fellow students and the faculty. One night, at age the age of nine, the sound of steel clanging rung loudly through the estate in which she lived. Glancing over at the bunk next to hers, Namida notice that it was empty. Shisen was missing. Jumping out of bed the young girl padded out of her room towards the noise, a small smile on her face, obviously thinking it was just another drill that her father had decided to run. No, at the bottom of the stairs laid the body of a boy with white hair that she had known for all her life. Shisen. Tears began to well up inside her eyes as she glanced at the blades clashing a short distance away from her; sparks spraying everywhere. The white hair of her father’s bodyguard moved swiftly as another figure dressed in black moved swiftly. Her cheeks soaked as red spattered onto her face, the father of her dearest friend fell to his knees. A loud crack sounded behind her and several patches of red appeared on the black running down the figures body as they fell. Namida was swept into the arms of her father as the salty water washed mixed with the blood that had settled on her face. After fate had swept her closest friend away, Namida became determined to protect those she loves. She studied the way of the sword learning as much about it as she could. Eventually a rumour reached her ears of a game in a virtual reality. Sword Art Online, researching it the girl believed she could develop herself even more going through. She begged her father to let her get a copy, who obliged and then she entered the pixelated world of Aincrad. Virtues:Loyal – Namida will always stand by those who show themselves loyal to her. She’ll protect them to the best of her ability regardless of the cost to herself. To Namida friends and family stick together and support each other through thick and thin. The death of Shinsen reinforced this belief in the girl. Honest – A lot of pain can be brought about from lying, Namida knows and understands this. No matter what happens she will tell the truth. After witnessing what has happened to people that have lied to her father she shudders at the thought of what could happen to her if she lies. Similarly, if someone lies to her and she finds out her wrath is unquenchable. Perseverance – After losing her friend and several members of her family rejecting the girl because of her interest in blades and the amount of alone time she had. Namida became good at seeing through the ideas that she sets her mind to. Once a plan comes into her head she sees it through. Smiling – Even though she has lost a lot and been through several hardships in her life Namida doesn’t stop smiling. She believes that if she smiles she can take on anything she wishes to and that it won’t cause her any more trouble than it already has done. Flaws:Impatient - Due to her upbringing Namida has been a bit spoilt and always got what she wanted, yesterday. Initially she would steal it if she didn’t get it quick enough, then after the death of Shisen Namida began to extort people to get what she wanted. Not caring who she hurt so long as it wasn’t her family. Conceited – As part of always getting everything that she wanted, Namida often looks down on others not believing they are worth her time. This doesn’t apply to those deemed ‘friends’ or ‘family’ however as they have proven themselves worthy to her. Namida won’t necessarily hinder those she looks down on, but neither will she go out of her way to help them. Withdrawn – After losing Shisen, Namida became isolated and quiet. Despite helping around the estate when she could the girl spent a lot of time on her own, cutting herself off from the world. Because of this she often misses social cues, or is silent as she doesn’t know what to say or is loathe to speak. Fragile - As expected after loosing someone extremely close to her Namida tends to break down if something reminds her of him, or even if she reminisces about her lost childhood friend, who as far as she can tell sacrificed his own life for hers.
