[BR-F22] Paving the Way to Floor 23 (Floor 22 Boss Battle - Bialas)

Macradon felt the static surge throughout his body, but it was so minor a thing that it did not strafe his mind that it actually did anything. His battle healing kicked in whenever a tick of damage was dealt by the static charge. As he heard the voice of Jomei, Macradon would look his way as he prepared to go in for an attack as well “I’m right behind you!” he shouted as he followed up, running by Calrex after he did his thing. As Macradon passed by the Ultramarine knight, sparks flew between the two as the static charge would jump over and cover part of Calrex. Macradon didn’t realize much of it and went in for the attack. With yet another heavy cleave, Macradon would help the rest take out a small chunk of the monster’s thick natural armor and would finish off his round for now, retreating back to get ready for another attack.

Deals 300 DMG (150 minimum) and applies <<Static Charge>> on a hit. On a miss, this attack still deals 200 DMG (100 minimum).

Applies the following debuff to a random player in the next target group:
<<Static Charge>>: At the beginning of your turn, roll a die with the Roll Purpose “Static Charge”. The following happens based on the CD result:

  • 1-3: The effect spreads! You end up touching or getting close enough to another party member for them to gain the <<Static Charge>> debuff. The effect then deals 50 unmitigatable DMG, or 35 unmitigatable DMG if you have Survival active. The newly-affected player is determined by you, but must be someone who is not already affected by <<Static Charge>>.
  • 4-9: The effect deals 50 unmitigatable DMG, or 35 unmitigatable DMG if you have Survival active.
  • 10-12: The effect immediately ends, and no damage is taken.

If all players in a single party gain the <<Static Charge>> debuff, they each immediately take 50 unmitigatable DMG, or 35 unmitigatable DMG if they have Survival active, and the effect ends on all players. Players affected by a discharge are immune to the next instance of <<Static Charge>> that would be applied to them for one round.

Sidestepping and backtracking among the darkened grove while players went around their rotations and unleashed all manner of attacks around her, Telrenya did her best to keep her focus in one place at a time to prevent the scattered mind that all the new stimuli of a boss battle would have surely left her with. As if to counteract all of her efforts, the flashes of lightning that rained down above them had the girl's chin tilting upwards, chocolate eyes widening in surprise when they met the blinding streak that shot straight forward her. Only a second or two had passed after wrenching her eyes shut, tensing for the damage that the strike would inflict, and she quickly realized that one of the potions she had consumed a short time ago had protected her.

A short sigh of relief slipped past her lips while her feet began to carry her again, automatically at first. The rest of her team had already worked to land their attacks against the snowy-maned beast, and she couldn't let herself lag behind. She pushed forward to weave between other players in the fray and thrust her golden blade forward with another, nearly identical set of stabs and slashes against Bialas' flank. The woman nearly swelled with satisfaction as she had yet to falter in any of her attacks, but as she backpedaled to a safe distance her eyes flickered to the side where the two teammates whom she hardly knew passed by one another. "Wait..." Her brows narrowed as she caught a glimpse of bluish-white sparks dancing between the two avatars, and she couldn't stop herself from calling out. "Careful! Whatever that is--it looks like it's spreading!"

The battle had continued, however... no one had really spoke out to Ruby at all, mostly had just focused on the battle and stayed with themselves at this point. However, Ruby wasn't just going to stand around and look pretty like she always is. She had looked around for a moment looking to see if anyone had needed healing, however... no one had really needed it other than maybe herself. However she did have energize so she had looked around for a good target to give energy to... and she had defaulted to Telrenya as she had needed to pick quick. However upon touching her to send energy over Static Shock had affected her and even spread to Telrenya. Ruby had blinked for a few seconds, before saying out "At... least you recovered some energy?" trying to find a plus side to it.

The silver skinned Bialas shook his head, the bristles of his white mane that stood straight up swayed back and forth as he did so. Piercing red eyes glared the the Ultramarine Knight before dragging its hoof through the dirt. With a sharp exhale through its nostrils, the Warden jolted forward in a charge, its hooves pounding against the ground with each gallop. The electric charges that clung to Bialas' body spread out, hitting each of the players the beast passed as he charged towards his target. Heavy feet trampled over Calrex, causing the armored man to roll under the weight of the large unicorn that plowed through him like a freight train. As Bialas circled around to position itself in the center of the group of players, its body crashed into the blonde rapier user, knocking her off of her feet as well. 

The last of the charge that Bialas' held focused into its horn, as it called upon another barrage of lightning bolts from the sky that rain upon the second group of players. Most of their safeguards had been wiped out during the Warden's first wave of attacks, so now he simply watched in satisfaction as the green health bars that hovered above each of the players dropped slightly as lightning struck their person.

Shield threw his shoulder into the bolt of energy that flew his way. It parted, leaving slight scorches on the outside of his armor, but as his health immediately rebounded to near full, so too did the wounds vanish. His eyes held fast to the glowing red ones of his opponent So far, despite a mess of minor, manageable area effects, the boss had not shown itself to be particularly deadly, at least not yet. They were less than a third of the way through the fight. Still, with decent healers on deck, the raid should be well in hand.

He flourished his sword hand, and there at the tip of his blade, a small dot of light began to form. It grew, gathering light from his energy pool until its light took on a different, more stable quality. With a satisfied nod, he took one last look at the party HUD. Sure enough, Beat's energy had fallen the lowest, but he expected as much. With a swing of his elbow, he tossed the ball of energy to Beat before turning his eyes back to Bialas.

Beat winced as the bolts struck him, dropping his health bar by a small margin and blinding him momentarily. When the storm had settled for a moment, Beat inspected his health bar and observed the small red marks on his body, imagining them as the scorch marks that would certainly be there under real life circumstances. He had moved next to @Hakai in his attempt to evade the lightning, smiling as he stared at the boss, "First floor boss in a long time right? How does it feel?" 

Beat would wait for her response before taking off at top speed, racing towards his target with his now glowing spear, the sword art charged within the weapon aching to be released. This time, Beat approached from the creature's flank and unleashed his flurry of individual attacks, his form seeming to multiply and make it appear as if he was performing each technique simultaneously. Beat glanced up at the boss's health bar before returning to his position near his newest friend, a satisfied grin on his face.

 Battle: 1 (Miss)

Hakai smiled to Beat. "Well, it would certainly be better if I could actually hit the thing. I suppose it doesnt seem all that special." She looked over at the boss before sprinting at it and attempting to slash it again. She missed once more and was forced to retreat. This games battle system annoyed her. She didn't like the lack of a pain system. She glanced over at her health bar, checking it out. It was well below full, but still within a fairly safe margin. She hated having to do that. In the real world you could just feel how badly you were hurt instead of having to look at a health bar. It really took you out of the action, having to check something like that every few seconds.

To be copletely honest she yearned for the scratched and bleeding knuckles of a real world fist fight. She remembered breaking her knuckles for the first time on someones jaw bone. It had been a wild punch, with her whole body behind it. To this day it was probably the most satisfying hit she had ever landed on someone. She wanted more of that. Before she hadn't really cared about getting out or not, but she was tired of clean mathematical fighting and yearned for a more wild adrenaline and pain filled fight.

Getting struck by the lightning made something come out that he had not felt in a long time.  A gentle breeze flowing through a harsh desert dune.  He had been on the fifth floor for the longest time, but this felt like nothing he had remembered before.  Was this?  Was this something that was lost so long ago.  Several years of experience was gone on that day, and this creature was a catalyst to bring it back?  No, was it this floor?  There were too many questions, but not enough answers.  The only way to get them was...

It was all of the difference in the matter of life and death.  He moved on to attack the creature without much thought about it.  There was no salvation for a creature that could command the heavens, as it were.  The only thing that could be done was to give it a swift death, but even that would be out of the hunters reach.  Either it died, or he would gain another memory.

’’Time to get it together and land a hit on this little pony.’’ Zandra said to herself and goot a harder grip of her axe. She stared at Bialas, preparing herself to make sure she wouldn’t miss this time. It was right then, when she was gonna charge at him that she hesitated a few moments. Several of her party members got struck by lightning. Thou a quick glance at the healthbars ensured her that noone was in any danger yet. So she could keep up attacking without anyone dying on her. But she got abruppted again as the boss monster shot a lightning at her. Zandra staggered a few steps back from the shock, thou it ran off as fast as it have hit her. Just like a schock in real life. ‘’Huh? What was that? Is that all you can do?’’ she said while looking at their opponents. After that, she followed Beat, Hakai and Hirru to reduce the big health bars.

‘’Since you guys are all well and such, and wont heal you just yet, but don’t worry, I will when needed. Thou right now I will make more use damaging this beast.’’ And with that she relesased her ssword art, one slice that cleaves thru the boss, leaving a long red mark, followed by a shockwave, dealing damage again. ‘’Not as much as I had hoped for. But well, its always something.’’ She mumbled to herself.

Regaining her combat stance, Teion's teeth grit while her eyes danced across the battlefield. Despite a bit of chaos, at least from her inexperienced perspective, things seemed to be going rather well. 'Now don't jinx it. Her mind scolded her.

As thunder roared above them and lightning shot from the skies to strike down at their party Teion's chin raised and she took a small couple of steps back. Her concentration allowed her to evade the bolt that had been aiming straight for her, and with the boss' widespread offensive out of the way, it was the players' turn to strike back. With a renewed grip on the handle of her unfamiliar battle axe, the violette was determined to make herself useful.

Beat and Hakai had already moved in to attack. Her eyes danced towards the last damage-dealer in their group, if she wasn't counting the noirette that had given her the weapon she clutched onto. Teion leaned forward, watching Hirru as he moved in and working to match her pace behind his for as clean of a follow-up attack as she could manage.

The second raid team's string of attacks did well to drop Bialas' health further, completely draining the first of three HP bars. As the damage dealt continued to whittle down the second green-colored indicator, the rumbles and cracks of thunder overhead seemed to grow more frequent. What was already a gloomy, overcast sky above the forest seemed to darken with thicker stormclouds.

The lightning that danced around Bialas' curved horn seemed to nearly double in the frequency of its wild movements. Sparks shot out at two figures alongside the bolts that rained down from the sky, but the Warden was far from finished with the players that had last struck him down. Heavy dark hooves stamped and dug into the ground, dragging across the forest floor while the unicorn's feathering bristled and shone, standing on edge around Bialas' legs. The horned stallion reared up with a mighty roar. The hooves that kicked at the air in front of him quickly began to crackle with flashes of energy nearly identical to the electricity that leapt from his horn. Crashing back into the earth, that energy seemed to shoot through the ground, lighted tendrils running from the beast to the floor around the second group's feet. Bolts shot through the grass and dirt around the players, momentarily engulfing their avatars as the damage sank in.

The raid group seemed to be doing quite well so far, as he hadn't even had a second chance before the bosses first health bar had dropped completely to zero and they had been beginning to work on the third. "Nice job guys, were a third done!" As he said these words, two powerful lightning bolts shot down and struck two of their players, the cloaked girl and Hestia. He noticed Hestia's bar didn't move as much, but the cloaked girl seemed to take a good sixth of her health at least. He looked to Hestia. "I think it would be best to heal her now!" After that, he unsheathed his sword, now going to use it. He had an accuracy item equipped, so he had a good chance of landing a blow. He charged forward through the storm, slashing his charged sword at the horse boss. His blade cut through his opponent several time before Jonathan ended the assault, happy he had managed to get a few hits off onto the enemy.

Hikoru watched as things unfolded in front of him, the fight continuing and the other parties were working their hardest, and he gave a chuckle. It seemed that everyone was trying their hardest, and in his studies of the health lost, he saw that Beat had seemed to do the overall most damage of all parties in of himself. He chuckled and gave a small smile of satisfaction. He knew he had done the right thing, making him the new Paladin. He knew his job and he did it well. He looked down at his dagger. In his time in this game, he had gone a whole new route of life, something he never expected to do in his time but something he had accepted, and now he was one of the strongest burst DPS, and he was okay with that.

He gave a sigh and decided that he would be better off to try and get a bit more of a boost in his next attack, and pulled up his hood to disappear, when he felt a sudden shock, and looked to see that he had a new icon in his face. He was curious, and made a mental note later to study it, but he took a bit of damage, in which most was healed back. He used his <<Vanish>> mod and passed by their tank, in which the static jumped to him, and his eyes widened. This is spreading, and he didn't want to know what happened if he got caught in the act of the whole party having the debuff. He made his way back into stealth, and watched to see if he could notice the Static Charge in action. If he could find out how it worked, he could both write it down for future reference to bosses, and to see if there's a way to fight it off or get rid of it.

I calmly look at the events unfolding as the boss seems to get knocked down a health bar and the effects of doing so become quite clear right away as the storm just seems to get worse as i look up and sees myself get hit as i take a calming breathe and grins. Shrugging off the damage done to me, but it seems that wasn't the case as easily for another party member that enjoys being in the shadows. I hear Morg's words and just nods my head at them. I know that Morg! I'm the medic i know when to do the healings! Focus more so on making sure you continue beating up that overrated unicorn that is Bialas! I call over with a smile on my face as i see that at least most of the health bars are depleted as i contemplate using the mod, but then remembers the rather severe cost of even using it as i shake my head. 'I'll use that later if things get a whole lot worse, or if the boss fight nears the end. Got to make sure that when they explore that new floor they can be at full health at the least.' I think to myself as i then focus on my target. A heal for hidden. I say as i send out the green healing ball just hoping it hits Hidden who is probably in the shadows. Not really focusing to much on her location to much since it would be like trying to find that master of shadows. The man seemingly never within sight.

It appeared she had done solid damage from her group, but even so it did not prevent her from taking a considerable amount from the raging thunderstorm that shot her with tendrils of electricity. She began to worry about her health but as soon as she did a warm green light surrounded her and brought her health back to full. She looked back to find the support girl from her team seeming to look for her. Perhaps the girl couldn't see her in her black cloak? Feeling full of energy, she darted at the boss again. She became a black blur darting through the battlefield. Her dagger became enveloped in a dark shadow with flickers of yellow within it. As she attacked, her blade passed through the boss and attacked almost directly. Afterwards, she pushed away, sad to find that Paralytic Venom made no show of itself but was glad to find Bleed and Phase had worked properly. She hoped she was worthful on the battlefield for the frontliners. She knew she was only half the level of most of them.

Itzal watched as the others continued to fight on.  Jonathan gathering the hate from the boss to keep it from attacking other players primarily.  Other players were hit by lightning, particularly Hidden whom Hestia quickly went over to heal.  Hikoru retreated into the shadows in order to land another powerful blow against the boss.  Hidden landed a hyper critical against it.  Itzal saw that it was his turn and nodded to Velnia. He readied himself and activated charge, rushing at the boss and...  He missed.  By a mile.  He missed the boss so horribly despite his skills, despite his accuracy, and despite the fact that it's evasion was dropped by two.  He completely and hopelessly missed, his one chance to deal some decent damage and actually matter in this boss fight.  Well, he supposed there was the next boss raid.  From now on he'd be dealing low damage to the beast.  Every damage counted of course, but his was so insignificant compared to the other front liners.

A loud, shrill whinny sounded through the charged air as straight-sword and dagger alike dug across Bialas' hide and tore into strong muscle. The cloaked girl's dagger set off a short string of status effects against the Warden, those muscles contracting and twitching as her venom set in once again. Not only that, but the thin gashes that decorated his white-furred body soon began to fester. Around the wounds, a substance began to leak that rapidly changed color as it soaked into Bialas' fur. Bright silver blood quickly turned to a dark, murky green reminiscent of a poisonous algae. Just a moment later, a new icon appeared above the boss' curved health bars, and the middle indicator began to slowly climb back and regain more of its healthy green color.

All the while, and despite Bialas' temporary immobility, the storm raged on. Sparks flew automatically from the Warden's horn, leaping to the last unmarked players in the first group. Once the two rapier-wielders had been struck by the arced lightning, a sudden discharged erupted on each member of the first party, simultaneously dropping their health and removing their debuffs in the process.

"Well this is certainly different from the past few battles..."

Within the short period of time that the battle had taken Calrex watched as his health bar ticked down bit by bit, growing closer to three quarter of the total. Each blow had come from either a random bolt of light that had struck down on him, being knocked over by the charging boss, or with the recent rotation a static electrical buildup that burst. He gave a small sigh to recenter himself to avoid being distracted from the creature in front of them, "More like a electrified prancing pony. I swear this creature looks like it was ripped from a game I played in the past."

Getting to his feet the light blue slits indicating his eyes on the helm of the Grand Chariot III locked onto Bialas before he clenched his right hand into a fist. Almost immediately his gauntlet began to glow with light blue energy, the upper opening of his gauntlet seeming to exude energy like a jet engine. Giving a small smirk beneath his helm at the visual indicator the bluenette rushed forward while simultaneously triggering <<Charge>>, his body becoming a blur for a moment as he streaked across the battle space to appear airborne hurtling towards the boss' face, "Nice horn you've got..."

<<All Might>> short forward, the punch smashing dead center at the base where the horn connected with the head of the lightning unicorn, seeming to sink in for a moment as red numbers shot to the side indicating a critical hit. Kicking off to land on his feet Calrex gave a small sigh, giving a nod to his team, "Let's see about avoiding the static buildup like earlier. Everyone still okay on health?"

"Visually we're almost at half health for the boss. I remember that a few of the floor bosses sometimes change attack patterns when they drop to a certain percentage. I'm not sure we've seen the worst of this boss yet. It looks like a few of us have dropped close to half though. It might be the case that we'll need to give them a turn to recover if we aren't able to bring it down to the last health bar with this next team rotation. This battle may be going quick, but I'm not going to let rushing the fight to its conclusion result in more people dying if I can do anything about it."

Macradon smiled as the first health bar of the great unicorn had been depleted. The rest of the parties slowly began to chunk away more and more of the second health bar. As everyone in the party seemed to be engulfed in tiny sparks, a big chain of lightning would connect everyone in the first party, dealing a bit of damage. The sparks didn’t really do much against Macradon because of his high amount of health, shrugging it off as nothing. Quickly getting in close with Belphegor at his side, Macradon would jump up into the air as he executed his <Galaxy Destroyer> sword art as Belphegor would pin down the Unicorn with its three heads, holding down the enemy for Macradon to get a good hit on. After the cleave, Macradon and Belphegor would retreat behind the next attacker and await another opening for his party to work with.

Bialas' health slowly deteriorated, getting closer to the midway point. The entire fight was going much more smoothly than anticipated. The one thing that worried Jomei, however, was the intensity of the storm above them as the first bar of health disappeared from above the boss. The rolling thunder boomed louder than before, and the thick, arid air caused from the mass amounts of lightning and static electricity made it slightly harder to breath. Jomei watched the sparks that bounced from Bialas' silver fur as they latched onto Telrenya, and then himself. Before the man could even react, bolts of white lightning linked each of the players of the first group, dropping each of the health points a bit. "Nghhh." Jomei grunted, where the pain was absent, he could feel the discomforting, tingling sensation throughout his body. 

Once the electric shock had subsided, Jomei dropped to a knee with heavy breaths. Closing his eyes, Jomei calmed his breathing, as his Battle Healing did a job to recover the health he had lost from the room's dangerous effect.
