[OP-F1] Celebration Time

Recommended Posts

She gave a thumbs up, "Things have been great!" she cheered, a bright smile on her face. "A lot of things have changed since the last time I saw you," she grinned. As she mentioned Apricot, her face slowly fell. "O-oh.. Uh, she d-died," she stuttered, nervously scratching the back of her head. "I did the quest again and I found Agni here!" she piped up, pointing to her new familiar. "He's not like Apricot, but he's a nice creature to have around," she softly smiled as she gently touched the top of Agni's head. "Anwyho!" she shouted suddenly, "What are you doing here? I thought you didn't go to gatherings like this," her smile wavered. "Not that you shouldn't be here or anything!" she shook her hands roughly and sighed. Noticing the jar on his waist, her smile widened. "Oh hey Zomekko! It's good to see you again!" she said genuinely. "So! How have you been lately?" she scanned the features on @Pinball face. "Nervous?"

After she finished her quick chat with Pinball she sighed and headed towards to wherever all the food was. As she watched a certain white haired male 'stealthily' steal a bottle of whine she sighed and crossed her arms. "Who you there would be stealers in this game too.." she muttered, slowly picking up a small wine bottle. "Wine isn't the best thing to steal in our current situation y'know?" she grinned, holding up the bottle of wine. "Not sure if you can get drunk here but I'm pretty sure you can't.." she mumbled, examining the wine. "Try using tea, it tastes way better," she puffed and rubbed her familiars ears. @Sharr

Tsu laughed a little bit when Ben said he should get out of his lab more often because of how often he used the phrase tonight. "Yeah, I need to get out more often too, ribbit. I spend too much time just gathering materials for the shop, rrrrrrrrribbit." Tsu said as she rubbed the back of her head. Looking around again, Tsu spotted Pin and he caught her gaze for a few seconds. Ben brought her back by asking how things were going with McFroppy's. "Well, business has been really slow, but things are going good, ribbit. Honestly, I'm just glad to have a place to live, rrrrrrrrrribbit.Tsu answered. "Well, nice seeing you again, ribbit. But I need to catch up with a friend, so see you next time, rrrrrrrrribbit.Tsu said as she walked off, waving bye to @Benjamin Bookworm and @Dazia. Tsu made her way over the corner next to @Pinball and @ArabelleHey there, Pin, didn't expect to see you here. Nice to see you again, ribbit. Nice to meet you too, call me Tsu, rrrrrrribbit.Tsu introduced herself to Arabelle, keeping a smile as she greeted them.

Dazia didn't know whether or not she should accept Benjamin's offer. "Well, I might have to think about it for a bit first, although, I'm sure I wouldn't mind the mess. I've lived with three older siblings with messy rooms during my childhood..." Tsu came by and greeted Dazia and Benjamin. "Hello again, Tsu." Dazia listened to the two players speak of their shops, and how they've been, regarding that topic. Dazia would speak again, but there was an interruption...

Yinangi was interrupted by the sound of a dragon roaring. She turned and saw a golden dragon familiar putting on a majestic display, cloaked in golden yellow flames. "WHOA!!!" Dazia heard the noise, too. She turned around and saw the sight as well. "What the-?!" Then a voice announced the arrival of some "Lady Auranika, Leader of the Angelic Brigade". Yinangi returned to Dazia's side, looking at the player who's arrival was announced. The woman wore a golden dress, and seemed to be emitting sheer confidence. The golden dragon landed beside her. Yinangi stood there, awestruck. "Wow...what an entrance..." Dazia had no idea why the whole entrance was even needed. Granted, it was fairly good, but again, why was it needed? Was she the guest of honor or something? Probably not. Yinangi decided to run over and talk to her. "That display was AMAZING! How do you do it? Your name is Auranika, right? You look so pretty! My name is Yinangi."

Krysta watched as Veriost reacted to the bell, responding to the situation in a similar manner to a cat, noticing the object, then freaking out and moving all over the place, then going on her back as she used her maw and forelegs to try and remove the bell from her tail. Afterward, Veriost blasted the bell with her frost breath, a bit of an overreaction, then she hid under Vigilon's cape, looking embarrassed, which was yet another thing cats did. "Heehee, seems to me like some of Veriost's behavior is similar to a cat's." Arabelle said that she thought Yolviinsil was the only well-behaved familiar here. "Well, I'm actually not sure about that. She's kind and empathetic, and possibly more, but she's a little shy, especially around players she doesn't know." Arabelle spoke of exploring the mansion. "That sounds great, we'd be glad to tag along!"

As the players talked, Vigilon recalled two situations, one that Krysta was involved in, and one that Krysta wasn't there during the time it happened. "Oh, those two. I had some real trouble with that XOXXie woman, she seems to have a real envy problem...At least we were still able to retrieve the pendant." Vigilon spoke a bit about his encounter with April. "So you have another rival, and she's already tier two??" She suddenly heard a dragon's roar. She turned to see a golden dragon the size of a large dog cloaked in golden yellow flames, and then a voice announced the arrival of "Lady Auranika", a woman of beautiful form wearing a golden dress. The golden dragon landed by her side, so it must have been her familiar. Krysta saw the confidence emitting from her, and the entrance could easily make someone awestruck. "What an entrance..." Vigilon pointed to her, saying she was April, then he tried to change the subject and talk about the manor tour again. "...Are you alright, Alex? Is something wrong?"

Arabelle kept a smile on her face, but couldn't help noticing how @Pinball was way jumpier than usual. She glanced behind her, at the spot he had been staring at awhile ago, and seeing nothing of interest, she looked back at him. "Wait, you're seventeen?" Arabelle looked him up and down and shrugged. She'd always assumed he was older than her. Maybe because of his height. "I'm eighteen," she said, hoping it would explain her surprise from earlier. "Not a big deal though, I don't think our in-game appearances ever age. Or. Or something." Now he was starting to pass his awkwardness to her. She smiled and tucked her hands behind her back. "I'm doing good. Been focusing on my shop, though not many players have been buying stuff. There are too many Performers around, I guess. Oh! I don't think I've ever asked this but do you have a profession?"

Someone then poked the boy on the arm and Arabelle looked up to see @Spangie Oh wait, did I leave her alone over there? And she went over here because she had no one else to talk to? Oh no... It wasn't actually possible. Angie was probably just as social as her. But to be honest, Arabelle didn't know. Guilt coursed through her, and the short-statured girl suddenly moved forward to give her friend a quick hug. Then she broke off the hug and handed Angie the drink she'd been holding (she hadn't drunk from it yet). She turned around and went back to the bartender and bought herself a drink. Alcoholic, this time. It was impossible to get drunk in the game, after all. Having received the glass of wine she ordered, she made her way back to Angie and Pinball, who were now holding a conversation. "So," she began, sidling up to Angie. She took a sip from her glass and gave Angie a 'suspicious' stare. "I didn't know you guys knew each other. How did you meet?"

Very soon, another player (@Froppy) approached them. A girl in a maid outfit with a...really long tongue. Strange. Is it from a potion? But who would do that? Arabelle may have stared at it for a fraction too long, but she forced herself to look at the girl's eyes. The girl addressed Pinball first, placing weird emphasis on his name. And as he noticed the girl with the long tongue, the previously relaxed mood seemed to have turned tense. Arabelle glanced at her friend, then at the girl. She was going to ask him about it later, whether he liked it or not. But for now, "I'm Arabelle. It's nice to meet you too, Tsu!" Arabelle said, her tone chipper as usual. She smiled but kept out of the girl's way. If something was going to happen, she wasn't going to be in the middle of it. "So...how are you liking the party?"

'Crap! I've been found! Act natural, act natural' Sharr thought as a female player approached him. She didn't mind much about his act. In fact, she stated that wine was not the best thing to steal in their current situation. Sharr looked at the bottle in his hand, then the bottle the girl was holding. Sharr let out a sigh and agreed with her. "Yeah... I'm not a tea-liking kind of guy. But in the end, wine is wine! And I that I would be better drinking these in the last seconds of my life in this death game than tea." He said as he took the other bottle of wine from Spangie and sent them to his inventory. "I don't know how these work but I hope they will taste better the longer they are kept." Sharr was about to leave, when the thought that socializing wouldn't hurt. 'Well I do need some friends to have my back.' "What did you say your name was?"

She went wide eyed as @Arabelle gave her a surprise hug and handed a drink, “Thanks?” She raised a brow as she rushed off and brought back another drink. Okay then.. she shrugged it off and smiled gleefully.

She shrugged, “We all have our preferences I suppose,” a small smile on her face. “I wouldn’t dream of drinking anyways,” she sighed and set the bottle down, “I like sweet things,” she grinned, looking over at the table of foods. “I don’t think the game does that bit possibly,” she sighed and held her hand out, “It’s K- Spangie. What’s yours?,” she smiled genuinely. After their greeting she grabbed her familiars front two legs, causing Agni to yelp in surprise. “And his here..” she huffed, the weight of her familiar surprising her. “Is Agni!” She quickly let him go when he released a low growl. “Fine! Geez.”

“Yeah, you don’t think so huh?” Sharr said emphasizing on the word think. “Guess I would be the first to find out whether it does.”  He chuckled. The girl introduced herself as Spangie. ‘She was going to say something different, possibly her real name.’ “The name is K- Sharr.” He said trying to immitate her. Sharr took her hand and shook it. ‘First actual handshake in my whole life, better start practicing for the job interviews, of course that’s if I survive this hell.’ Sharr tried to shake the thought out of his head while Spangie was carrying her familliar and introducing it before letting go. “Agni huh? So, what is it called? I mean, the type of animal it is. I know this one guy with a Frost Dragon that he does fancy attacks with, can you guys do something like that?” He said as he looked over the table and grabbed a chocolate truffle. “Oh this one has Dark Chocolate in it, this is so good...” He muttered.

“How am I supposed to know, I’m not even at the legal drinking age,” she giggled and rubbed her back of her neck. Ma and Pa would freak if they knew I could be drinking, she sweat dipped and shook her head. “Oh stop it,” she puffed. “But nice to meet you Sharr,” she grinned, happily shaking his hand.

”Oh Agni? He’s called a Nine Tailed Fox,” she rubbed her chin, “I found him in a pretty weird spot but he’s alright,” she shrugged, earning a snort from her familiar. Oh yeah, he can do some crazy things with fire. It practically blinded me he first time I met him but I haven’t battled with him yet.. but he was pretty cool when he saved me the first time I met him..” she trailed off and coughed. “Chocolate. Is. The best!” She gave a thumbs up and chuckled.

Pinball nodded, a small smile forming on his face. "Yeah, seventeen," then added bitterly, "but yeah, our avatars don't age. So I look fifteen." He let out an unenthusiastic, "yay", then took a small sip of his glass. "Oh, so you started your Performer thing," he said. "and yeah, I'm a Cook, actually. I'll have to stop by sooner or later, but it's kinda the same with cooks. The permanent crafters get most of the attention. The buffers only really get noticed for boss fights an' stuff like that." He swirled his drink, glancing at Arabelle briefly, then looking back into the drink. Maybe this won't be so bad, he thought. Then the frog showed up.

@Froppy looked just like he remembered her. His heart started racing in his chest. This wasn't good. "Heyy, Froppy~," he managed, turning to Arabelle, his voice becoming a monotone. "You haven't met Froppy - Tsu - Froppy before yet, have you? No? Cool." Pinball downed rest of the cup Arabelle had brought to him with a single chug, cast it aside, pulled out a muffin from what seemed like nowhere, and hurled it at the ground. "DISTRACTION!" he cried, the muffin bouncing a few times before rolling away (its durability must have been pretty high). "Sorry!" Pinball sped away towards the refreshments table, his head down, leaving @Arabellewith Froppy.

Tsu wasn't too surprised when @Pinball started to get nervous like he usually did. Tsu just kept a small smile on her face as she watched Pin run off after throwing a muffin on the ground and yelling. Tsu turned to @Arabelle and laughed a little bit. "Don't worry about him, he's always like this, ribbit. Pin isn't good with crowds or groups of people, or anything that isn't one on one really, rrrrrribbit.Tsu explained. Arabelle asked if she was enjoying the party, and Tsu nodded her head. "Yeah, I always enjoy coming to these kind of events, ribbit. Except for Valentine's Day, that was miserable. I usually just come as a way to take time off from my shop, ribbit. But being a frog girl, it's hard to get out and have fun with people sometimes, but everyone here is pretty nice today. So, how are you enjoying the party, rrrrrrrrrrrrribbit?Tsu asked, sticking her tongue out a little bit with a silly smile.

Vigilon chuckled when Krysta suspected that some of Veriost's behavior was similar to a cat's. It made sense, though. Veriost liked having attention, sleeping, getting foods she liked or loved, and more sleeping. Plus, this moment of bell shenanigans really put the icing on the cake for that hypothesis. "I can see that being true, after all, I'm the one who's been taking care of her and putting up with her shenanigans. Obviously there's some dragon in her behavior pattern, since that's what she is." Vigilon looked around. It seemed that Arabelle, Krysta, and even Yinangi were awestruck by Auranika's entrance. Arabelle had left to talk to someone else, but there were still several players he was speaking to earlier. Krysta asked Vigilon if he was alright, which must have been over the sudden subject change. "Well, no, it's nothing wrong, I mean, this is a party! What could happen?"

Auranika saw a girl who was probably no older than twelve in appearance run up to her, commenting on her display and appearance, as well as making sure she'd gotten the name right. "Thank you for those lovely compliments, Yinangi. Yes, I am Auranika. I also am known by other names. The Golden Dragon, The Angelic Warrior, Lady April. Feel free to take your pick from all the given names to know me by." She had been hoping to socialize, and so far she was talking to one person. That was fine, but she would have to leave the conversation at some point, but not without talking for a bit and finishing the conversation. Auranika looked over to Renixx, who was still near her. She hoped he would socialize as well, but... "It's all right, Renixx, you know you don't have to escort me everywhere in Aincrad. Enjoy the party, socialize." "I-...I swore on my own accord to follow you and your leadership, Lady April." Auranika sighed. Renixx didn't seem to focus on much other than trying to remain as the best in his position, one of the Guardians of her Guild, and of course, speak with her often. Sometimes she felt like he was idolizing her. "Renixx, you know you'll need to make more friends an allies, other than myself. Dismissed. Enjoy the party. We'll meet back up when we leave." "I-...As you wish, Lady April..." Auranika turned back to Yinangi. "Please excuse my ally, he tends to...try staying by my side as much as possible. Is there anything you'd like to speak about?"

Bye Tsu, have fun at the rest of the party. Ben called after her as she left.  Sorry about the interruption Dazia, it seems that all these parties have some pretty crowded rooms sometimes.  I never really know who to go up to talk to at all.  He looked around the room, seeing the familiar faces that he had met from the different quests before.  He was a bit overwhelmed with what was happening.  Actually, we could head on over to the buffet table to talk- it's a lot easier for me to let others walk up to talk than seek them out, quite frankly. he offered.  Actually, I never asked about your crafting preferences, or if you even have any.  Honestly, I probably should have waited until I leveled up a bit before I started so I could level up the skills I would need first, but that's how it goes sometimes.

@Spangie had started talking to a man who had attempted to steal a bottle of wine, so Arabelle focused on the people standing beside her. For a few moments, she seriously thought @Pinball was going to be okay. Okay, being a relative term. Tsu was nice enough, maybe even a bit cute in that maid outfit of hers (Arabelle would never be caught wearing one, but she can't deny that she was curious), and the only thing that seemed to stand out with her was her tongue. But of course, everyone had their hidden conflicts with each other. He turned to her, his voice strangely monotone as he asked, "You haven't met Froppy - Tsu - Froppy before yet, have you?"

Arabelle fiddled with the sleeve of her dress. Was it just her, or was there something off with his nervousness this time? But she didn't pry. She smirked and replied as she normally would have. "Well when someone introduces themself to you at a party--"

"No? Cool." And he made a big show of throwing a...a muffin? on the ground and running away as fast as humanly possible. Arabelle looked at his retreating figure in dismay and briefly contemplated following him. She didn't know him very well, but he didn't seem like the type to run away. Her proof? All the awkward situations she'd placed him in during their first encounter. And the reason why she approached him in the first place was because he seemed lonely. However, @Froppy had already started talking, providing Arabelle an explanation for Pin's actions. She looked down at her wine glass as the girl talked and downed it all in one unladylike chug. The alcohol burned as it went down her throat. She then turned to the girl in the maid outfit. "Oooh, that explains it. Guess he's a more introverted person than I thought," she fibbed. Yeah, no. I'm definitely gonna ask him. "Are you two close?"

Arabelle smiled as the Tsu explained that she was enjoying the party. "I am, too! Only half an hour in and I've already met lots of nice people. Ah, but I forgot to add them to my friends list, though..." she swiped down with two fingers and checked her friends list. Yep. She'd definitely forgotten to add all of them. How would she contact them now?  "So, the Valentine's Day party? If it's really as bad as you said it was, I'm glad I didn't go. I mean...I guess I was too busy to go out and talk to people back then." Her gaze involuntarily wandered to the girl's tongue as Tsu mentioned it. There was also the 'ribbit' noises the girl made after every sentence, too. Aincrad had lots of strange people. She hesitated slightly before asking, "No offense, Tsu. But is your...I-I mean, is your tongue real? Or, I mean, natural?"

Tsu put her hands behind her back and leaned up against the wall as she looked out at all the people in the party. @Arabelle seemed to understand that Pin was a bit of an introvert, and then asked if Tsu and Pin were close. "Yeah, we were close, ribbit. We used to be a couple for a short while. Then he sorta dumped me on Valentine's Day, ribbit. But we're still friends. He's just been kinda jumpy around me lately, so I hope you understand, rrrrrrrribbit.Tsu answered, explaining a bit of their past. Tsu's smile didn't fade or disappear, she was over it. "I like your dress, it's cute, rrrrrribbit.Tsu complimented as she looked over Arabelle's outfit. Then the usual question for Tsu came when Arabelle asked if her tongue was natural. Tsu nodded her head, waving her hand in dismissal. "Yep, it's natural, ribbit. My tongue is just something that runs in the Asui family. You might have heard of us on the news or a documentary, rrrrrrrribbit.Tsu answered, smirking a little bit in pride of her tongue.

Pinball set about distracting himself with the things at the refreshments table. I need another muffin, he thought worriedly, but could only find a cupcake. He hesitated for a moment, staring at the dessert, then nodded. That'll have to do. He pulled out a small leather pouch, carefully placing the treat in the bag. He tied the pouch to his belt, where it hung on his waist next to his familiar's jar. With a huff, he placed his hands on his waist, glancing about the spacious ballroom. Most of the faces, he recognized. Benjamin, Vigilon, Froppy, Arabelle, Spangie... he walked around the refreshments table, and leaned against the wall, massaging his head. Arabelle and Froppy were still talking. Go. Be social, he thought irritably, trying to push himself back into the fray. The muffin thing had given him a bit of an adrenaline rush, and he thought it was pretty damn funny; but the fun was fading now, and he knew if he didn't do something quick he'd sink into one of his moody episodes. And for the sake of everyone here, I can't let that happen. He pushed himself off the wall, a determined look burning in his eyes. His head snapped to the right. "Oi! @Spangie!!

Spangie took a small sip of soda before nearly dropping it at the sound of a loud voice, “E-eh?!” She looked left and right before her eyes locked into @Pinball. “Oh,” she blew a sigh and smiled. “Oh hey, how are you doing?” She asked, setting down her drink on a nearby table. “It feels like I haven’t seen you since forever,” She grinned, messing up his hair. “So what are you doing here? I didn’t know you went to these kinds of things,” she crossed her arms, giving a small cough.

Hearing a familiar snort, she sighed and rubbed the ears of a certain creature. “So. How’s Nomekko?” She asked, examining the jar on his waist. “Is she still not social enough?” She giggled, and shrugged, “But I guess you can’t change that. Agh, I’m hungry. I wonder what kind of sweets they have here.. she trailed off topic, quickly stealing a glance at the table of food. Aghh, I guess I have to get Agni something to eat too, he must be getting hungry as well. She bit her lip and sighed.

Nova was happy that more people came, she even saw Tsu again. Nova hadn’t seen her for a while, another player wandered over to her (Spangie) and asked if she sent the message. “Yep. I’m your host, Novafire, friends call me Nova, nice to meet you… Uh… What’s your name?” She then began wandering then thought about Grimms proposal. “I’m gonna need a reward… Hmm… “ She opened her inventory, looking for the right prize for a karaoke competition. “Ah-ha!” She said with a triumphant shout. She climbed a table and picked up a wine glass and gently hit it with a spoon a few times to get everyone's attention. “Everyone, everyone! Can I have your attention please? Thanks. I’m Nova, your host! Thanks to someone for this idea…” She winked at Grimm. “...there is now a karaoke competition! There is a prize too! The prize for first place is six tier one materials!” She said with a wide smile on her face, hoping she got to see someone compete. She climbed off the table, and walked over to Grimm. “You helped inspire that you know.” She said, sounding delighted and excited as ever.

Ell entered the building wearing a suit and tie, the same clothes he wore in a certain event in the past.

Wow this is big, I wonder how much Col she paid with just to use this place... No, she might have even bought this place already. Am I even welcome here?

Ell made his way to the table where the food was, looking down as he did. He took a glass of water and took a sip.

I wonder, do I even fit in here? I might as well get out...

But when he started to make his way out, someone standing on top of table caught his attention.

Oh? I almost forgot that Novafire was the one hosting this party.

Ell approached her as soon as she made her way downthe table. “H-hey, uuhh Novafire right? Uuhh we met at another event you hosted, remember?

No, she doesn’t

Ell let out a sigh, shook off the thought, and continued. “W-well anyways... Nice party!”

So @Froppy was technically Pinball's ex-girlfriend. That was an explanation Arabelle half-expected. Though she was leaning more on the 'he has a crush on her and gets flustered whenever she comes near' explanation. Wait, but doesn't that apply, too? She briefly glanced at the boy, who was now holding a conversation with her blonde-haired friend. Both were smiling. Arabelle quickly turned back to Tsu before she got spotted and smiled, "I'm...sorry to hear that. I'm glad you're still friends, though. And it's fine, really." Oh, and I guess that explains her comment about the Valentine's Day being miserable. Aaaand I was play-flirting with him just a month ago. Yeesh. Awkward.

A faint hue of pink colored Arabelle's cheeks as Tsu complimented her dress. And from there, the conversation moved to less serious topics. "Thanks! It's the only dress I have, though. I mean, when you're in SAO, you don't typically expect grand ballroom events and stuff." Arabelle gave Tsu's maid outfit a quick once-over. "I like your costume, too! I'd normally feel embarrassed to wear it, but you pull off that look really well."

She was about to say something else in response to Tsu's explanation about her tongue, however, their hostess climbed on top of a table and announced something. A karaoke competition. And T1 materials as a prize. Still a heck no. The idea was lovely, sure, but Arabelle was pretty sure her singing voice would break all the wine glasses in the room with how horrible and off-tune it is. And she wasn't about to embarrass herself for materials she could just gather. She turned back to Tsu. "Nah, I haven't really heard of you guys. Not much of a documentary person, unless it's about music. Oh, but I think your tongue is really cool, Tsu! It takes some getting used to but, you know how in movies, superheroes have this super unique trait about them that turns into a superpower in the end? I think it's just like that!"
