[OP-F19] The Aincradian Library of Dawn

Recommended Posts

Jonathan awoke to a knock on his door, his alarm that had been for about the past week. He couldn't believe it had already been a week since he had bought the manor. Since then much had happened. He had become familiar with the NPC guards and maids that also resided within the castle, and completely changed his lifestyle and schedule. He woke at Eight A.M sharp every morning and was in bed by ten every night. A quarter past eight, breakfast was to be served and then he would be able to move about his day. Being on time and following a schedule made Ramelia, the quiet pink haired maid, happy. Over the last course of week, Ramelia insisted on changing his normal attire and hair style. He wasn't too sure on getting a new look, but found he was quite fond with the new look. He always now wore a white, gold, and black attire. White pants and shirt with black on the arms. He wore a hoodless cloak with white exterior, black interior. Putting these clothes on, he would quickly escort himself down a flight of stairs and enter the dining room.

After eating and making final preparations, he sent out a notice to each floor that for the first time the Aincradian Library of Dawn would be opening. Players would not be permitted into the main part of the manor, but instead allowed to roam the library, reading about any knowledge that has happened in the past of SAO. No information about Tesseleth or Bialas had reached the shelves, but much history was in store. There was also books that contained kinds of metal found within Aincrad and what monsters dropped it. Since it was an event where hopefully multiple players would be coming, tea and snacks were provided. For the day, even Remelia's duty was the library which was not very common. After training at the Mega Slime farm, Jonathan would then stand in the library, reading a book of Alchemy, of such information that one would only find it in his workshop were players were prohibited to be in.

Quick Summary of Rules

  • No PVP
  • No RPing Desacrating the area or books
  • No finding books that allow the reader to find information that other players want kept private or which nobody should know about. Meaning, you can't find a book telling you everything about Death Adder. In books containing information about players, only well known information would be found. How the player fights, usual wear, and great achievements or well known info could be found. (We won't be able to do this if people abuse the information they get from the books, so don't make me lose it, I will be monitoring as PST)
  • You may strike conversation with Vanir, Sylestia, Ramelia, Remelia, Other players, and Jonathan. Ramelia will ignore you though
  • You must RP entering the area and allowing me to RP the guards letting you in
  • Information of area and maids found below
  • You may not enter any place but the Library within the Manor
  • Have Fun

The Aincradian Library of Dawn

Image result for grand library

A quarter of the estate is taken by one of the largest libraries in Aincrad. Much knowledge is possessed here about almost everything that has happened in Aincrad when it comes to Bosses, quests, large sections of history. Of course, the library contains in detail recollections of the past, but it is always months behind current statuses as Information brokers have yet to bring the recounts. Player's do not have to go through the main entrance into the building to get into here, but instead there is another door that players will be led to by the guards on the side. Any non-shady green player may enter under the supervision of Ramelia, meaning if players want they can roleplay inside the library. Players have to have personal connections and permission with Jonathan to be unsupervised in the library. Weapons are forbidden inside the library. Any players to disrespect Ramelia or the library will be removed by the guards. Roleplay in here responsibly or your permission will be taken away. Do not roleplay having conversation with Ramelia as she won't speak to any players as to not bother them.

Maids
[Yes - Based off of Re-Zero. Get over it!]

image.jpeg Ramelia

Ramelia is the quieter of the two maid twins. She usually has a stern look on her face, doing only what she asked to or needs to do. She is uncomfortable around players that she hasn't met before and it is hard to impress her correctly to not come off with a bad judgement. She usually will not start a conversation with someone, unless said person verbally attacked either Jonathan or her sister, Remelia, in which case she will tell them to remove themselves or she will remove them herself. Jobs are: household dusting and cleaning, keeping shrubbery outside well trimmed, cleaning Jonathan and guest rooms after every night, serving dinner, and keeping an eye on any unknown or untrusted players that have been permitted to come and visit the Library.

Remeliaimage.jpeg

Remelia is the kinder of the two maid twins. She usually has a warm and ind smile on her face, going of her way to help guests even if it means shirking her duties. Even if she is uncomfortable with a player, she upholds a standard of politeness and kindness to everyone. She has a submissive personality, and will take harsh comments and a bowed head, replying "I'm sorry" after every sentence. Her duties contain: Cooking Breakfast and dinner, waking all players at 8:00 A.M with a knock at the door, assisting female players into dresses if needed, washing dishes, helping Ramelia serve dinner, serving the guards with food, kindly assisting any of Jonathan's personal guests.

Guards

unknown.png?width=400&height=293Sylestia

Sylestia is a young woman with respect and kindness. She took up a sword with the sole purpose to help protect people. She ould rather not see anyone get hurt and would rather resort to ending a commotion with words instead of steel. She guards the front gate, permitting or denying players access into the Library. She is also the guard to walk them to the door and inform Ramelia that the guest is present.

Vanirunknown.png?width=242&height=300

Vanir is a respectable young man. His number one virtue is confidence and took up the sword to save people's lives instead of destroy them. This being said, he isn't afraid to take up his sword and cut down a threat as necessary. He guards the gate as well, but prefers not to talk even though he is full of energy and eccentric. Unlike Sylestia, he also has a carefree attitude and unafraid to have a good laugh. He also keeps an accurate record of usernames that visited the Library within the day, even the player falsely identified themselves.

Tsu was a bit of a history worm, so when she heard that a library was going to open from the notices, Tsu just had to be the first to check the place out. After locking up McFroppy's, Tsu made her way to the floor teleporter and warped to floor 19, which was where the library was supposed to be. Tsu walked to the large estate, a bit amazed by it, so much to where she just stood and stared in awe for a few seconds. Tsu couldn't really see where the entrance to the library was, much less where even the library itself was. She walked up to one of the guards (Sylestia), and gave a quick wave. "Hi, ribbit. I don't exactly know where the library entrance is, can you maybe show me the way there? I've been wanting to do some studying on floor 10, rrrrrrribbit."

As a woman with dark hair arrived, Sylestia gave a welcoming smile and listened to her words. As she was finished, Sylestia stated, "Alright, follow me!" She nodded to Vanir and he wrote down the username "Froppy". She walked Froppy down the brick walkway and to the opened grand doors that would lead into the library. "Alright, don't cause any trouble and absolutly no weapons or fighting!" With that, Sylestia would smile and return to her post after yelling to Ramelia that people were beginning to arrive. As she arrived back to Vanir and her post she looked over to him with a frown. "Did she... ribbit?" The man would look over to her, but not say a word.

Jonathan heard the voice of Sylestia yelling to tell Ramelia that someone had arrived. He looked over to see a dark haired woman entering the room. He shut his book, put it within his hoodless cloak and walked forward. "Welcome, I am Jonathan, pleasure to have you here today" He stopped five feet away from the girl and asked, "Anything I can help you find? I don't know exactly where everything is unlike my maid, Ramelia over there. I do have an idea though" Jonathan had sent a few hours prior figuring out where certain kinds of books are, but it was easy to get lost in a library like this.

Calrex's current attire:

Spoiler

sAdjWuN.png

After the conclusion of the Bialas fight Calrex had taken some time to go and train on the mountain he had spent such a long time at a few months ago, where he had honed both his avatar's body and his own mind to help struggle and survive the new encounters both game and player created. Since he had just come from there, he hadn't decided to switch out of his training gear just yet. However, he was aware of the extreme difference from his usual clothing, which was why he carried a long coat to cover when necessary.

Walking up the the entrance to the library the bluenette had one goal in mind at the moment. After the fight had concluded, and he received the reward item which was for enduring the most blows, he figured he didn't need the item as much as someone else in the raid team might. His skills and equipment were more than sufficient, and the enhancements that the armor gave wasn't as useful to him as it might be someone else. Going from what he had observed before the fight began, Morgenstern, one of the other tank-like players, was opting to go with more of an off-tank build, rounding out his damage and mitigation simultaneously, "I think this might suit him better."

As he approached the two guards standing at the front he gave a formal nod to both of them, "Hi there, I'm actually here to meet with Morgenstern. I have a piece of equipment to give him."

Tsu followed Sylestia to the entrance of the library and nodded in accordance with the no weapons or fighting command. Walking down the brick walkway and going through the grand doors almost felt like a dream, considering how nice everything looked. The inside of the library looked even nicer than the outside, and Tsu found herself just staring for a while. Tsu returned to her senses once Jonathan walked up to her and welcomed her. "Thanks, I'm glad to be here, ribbit. It's been forever since I've seen a library, so I just had to come. Nice to meet you Jonathan, just call me Tsu, rrrrrribbit.Tsu greeted, bowing out of respect. He was a frontliner, so he had Tsu's full respect for his work. Jonathan asked if there was anything Tsu needed help finding, and she answered quickly. "Well, I was wondering if you had any books on floor 10, ribbit. I live there, so I want to get to understand a bit more about the floor. That's all I am really looking for, rrrrrrrrrribbit.Tsu answered, looking around the shelves of books.

@Froppy

The dark haired woman would bow for a sign of greeting and respect to him, which he quickly said, "No need to bow for me. Only reason I have an estate this big is because of in the real world... Never mind. What would you like?" The girl spoke of books over the tenth floor. Floor descriptions.... They were found in sections all over the library. He looked over, calling Ramelia for some assistance. "Ramelia? Could you help me find a certain book?" The Pink haired maid quickly and quietly made the trip over to the players, curtsying as she was programmed.  "What can I help you with, Sir?" Jonathan glanced over at the dark haired girl and replied. "She needs a book or two over the tenth floor" The maid, obviously questioning why the girl would look for such a book out of all the choices, walked over a few shelves and returned with three books in hand. Handing the girl all three she pointed to one at a time. "This one details the terrain, places of interest and monsters to encounter. This one details each quest. This final one, is theories made by a handful of players of what is within the void" Ramelia curtsied once more nd said, "Return them to the front desk and I will replace them in their normal spot once you are done. Thank you ma'am" She returned to Jonathan's side and they walked forward to the door.

@Calrex

Another player would arrive, this one... having considerably less clothes than the last. The man's muscular chest and pectoral muscles were for display. Sylestia perferred warriors to be completely covered in armor to reduce the damage taken. "Welcome Sir, will you be wanting access into the library today?" The man informer her and Vanir that he was here to meet with Morgenstern to hand him a piece of equipment. Confused, Sylestia turned to Vanir and mouthed a question. He shook his head, indicating no private meetings had been scheduled. At least through them. "Right this way Sir" As the man passed through the gates,Vanir wrote down the name Calrex. She would walk the man to the doors where she would find Morgenstern and Ramelia walking. "Morgenstern Sir, there is a gentleman here to speak with you. He wishes to give you something"

Jonathan turned and listened to Sylestia, seeing a... shirtless Calrex? This was definently a new look. Stepping forward Jonathan held out his arm in a welcoming motion. "Welcome Calrex, what could I possibly do for you today? Looking to read up on something?"

Calrex's calm eyes scanned as the two guards seemed to look confused for a moment. Glancing down for a moment he gave a small sigh before hearing the young woman usher him inside, "I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess maybe I'm out of place, heh. In any case, I guess I won't be here too long. Maybe I'll take a look at a book or two in passing, but I'm really here just to drop off the armor."

The interior of the library itself was fairly impressive, being the largest repository of in-game knowledge, at least that he knew of. Most of his information was mostly gathered from interactions with his info broker, but this might be useful in a different way because of the lore recorded that could give background for each floor. With a single motion he draped the outer robe-like cloth he was carrying over his shoulders, letting his hands rest at his sides. Not moment after he saw that Morgenstern had come into view as he raised a hand to give a casual wave, "Hey Morg, this is a pretty large place you've got. I'm actually here to give you this."

Swiping on his menu the bluenette swiped through his inventory to reach the item he was looking for. With a tap it was produced into the physical space between them, extending a hand out to catch it as it appeared. The Bialas Binding's bracers materialized in his hand as he stepped forward, "This is the drop that I received from the boss, which apparently grants Heavy Momentum and Paralysis Immunity. It's a pretty good boss drop item, but unfortunately it doesn't really work well with my current build. I noticed at the start of the fight that you're opting for more of an offensive build, so I figured you might be able to make better use of these than I can. If you want them they're yours."

Tsu was just about to sit down in a chair at one of the tables and start reading when she saw Calrex enter, recognizing him instantly. She didn't get why he was shirtless, but Tsu immediately went to the conclusion that it was a fashion thing. Tsu opened her menu and removed her shirt, leaving just her green bra on her upper body. Unlike Calrex who had his muscles for show, all Tsu had was her chest. Tsu then set her books down on the table to get back to and walked back over to Calrex and Jonathan. Tsu bowed to him as well, and then greeted him. "Hello sir Calrex, it is an honor to see you, ribbit. I am Tsu, but call me whatever you please, rrrrrribbit." Tsu greeted, trying to be as polite as possible out of respect. After greeting them, Tsu went back to her table and started to read.

Jonathan smiled as Calrex waved as a greeting, but the man promised he was only here to hand him an item. Calrex would then open his inventory and produce to blue and white bracers. Jonathan looked puzzled at the items before Calrex began to speak about them and their enhancements. As he finished, Jonathan adverted his eyes from the bracers and looked at Calrex in the eyes. "You're just going to give them to me? If you have no need for them, they would be perfect for my build. I'll gladly take them if that is what you want" Jonathan chuckled, thrilled by the sound of Calrex's words. He then heard the girl he had assisted a second ago and turned to find the woman no longer wearing a shirt. Jonathan's face reddened as he seen the girl's green bra and he turned his head. "Ma'am, could I please ask you to replace your shirt? It would look bad on my part if every single one of my guests were without a shirt. Calrex is here on official business and is under circumstances that I will allow" This was one of the most bizarre experiences he had had in the last week.

- Gave Bialas Bindings to Morgenstern

The bluenette gave calm nod accompanied by a smile as he handed Morgenstern the equipment, "Hopefully they'll be of some use. If anything you'll be immune to stun locks, which is definitely helpful. Let's just hope that the upcoming bosses aren't keen on applying that strategy every time."

With the equipment traded Calrex lowered his arms to his sides again before turning to see that someone had come over to introduce themselves. It was the young woman he had seen also browsing the library while he was being escorted over to Morgenstern's location. However, it seemed that she had taken a "hint" from his current attire and had unequipped one of her outer clothing pieces, leaving just the bra beneath. Rather than blushing out of embarrassment, a sweatdrop formed on the side of his head as the situation and how he was likely the origin of it. Clearing his throat for a moment he responded to the introduction, "It's nice to meet you Tsu. Apologies for the...confusion of attire I guess."

Turning to his fellow tank frontliner the bluenette put a hand apologetically behind his head, "Same to you Morg. I guess I may have gotten too used to this training attire that I forgot about obvious societal norms like wearing a shirt."

With a few swipes on his menu his avatar was engulfed in a flash of light as his training gear was replaced with his casual combat clothing (The one in my signature :P). "I guess I should save that for training on the mountain or maybe at the beach. Just walking around without a shirt really only works for people that don't have clothing that fits them...but that's not really the case in SAO."

"In any case I guess I could take a look around the library for a bit, although I'm not sure if there's anything particularly new that I can find that probably hasn't been circulated by the info brokers. Any particular section you think I should check out?"

Tsu was just a little bit embarrassed by her misunderstanding, but she swiftly put her shirt back on and bowed apologetically. "My apologies sir Jonathan, ribbit. No need to apologize sir Calrex, it was my mistake. I-I won't let it happen again. You two have fun, I'll go read, rrrrrrribbit.Tsu apologized as she opened up the book on floor 10 void theories. Most of them seemed to boil down to the void being part of the cave network. It would be one heck of a fall, but at least there was a destination. Tsu was just trying to take her mind off of the two frontliners, completely terrified of them. She didn't want to look like an idiot, but she wanted to get to know them, so it was a bit stressful.

+ Bialas Bindings

The item would be send to Jonathan which he would look at with awe. "Ill find some way to pay you back someday. What I can do for the strongest player in Aincrad I have no clue" Tsu replaced her shirt as asked and said she would go back and read. "Im not mad or anything Tsu, I just would prefer this to be of a bit more formal event" Calrex even replaced his shirt, saying that his training had almost made him forget about social norms. "You both are quite all right" Calrex mentioned that he would try to read, but had no idea on what section. "I don't know. I have yet to get any information or resources from information brokers about Tesseleth or Bialas. You can find books over them everywhere, but over there is a section where it lists all of the bosses. It has been interesting to see the changes in style Kayaba has made recently. Patterns are beginning to change and the bosses are finally coming to a point where they've caught up with players. Last raid, Two players almost died. One by the name of Hidden, no guild. The other Ruby, Holy Dragon Alliance. I believe both were tier two players, meaning we have come to the the point that T2 players are entirely at risk" Jonathan shook his head. "I've done a bit of reading, and we haven't had a boss as powerful as Bialas since Rohk" Jonathan had been interested in the boss fight topics, and he was happy to involve each of them into his collection.

Calrex gave a nod and a small smirk at Morgenstern's response, "You having a better chance at alive and keeping others' is more than enough repayment. As tough as the frontlines are getting, any life lost is not acceptable in my book."

Putting his hands into his jacket pockets the bluenette gave a quick glance around the immediately around, listening as the fellow frontliner continued to speak. Having previous experience in both floor boss fights, he was very familiar with how both monsters had performed, as well as their impact on the raid participants, "Tier 2 definitely doesn't seem like it's sufficient enough to be safe in the frontlines battles anymore, which means more than likely they'll need to make more use of stacking buffs than the fighters at Tier 3 levels. Ruby was one of the people in my team that last fight, as well as the team healer. If it weren't for her abilities it would have been likely another player by the username Telrenya would have also been trouble too."

"Speaking of which didn't I run into that other fencer a while back? Guess maybe she didn't remember since it was such a brief encounter."

"In either case Bialas and Rohk were both powerful, but certainly different beasts in terms of build. Bialas had constant area of effect damage output, but it didn't seem to be a guaranteed shot every single time. Rohk had the ability to seemingly temporarily take players out of the fights at random, on top of having a almost guaranteed tornado attack. In top of being like Tessleth, with going out of a fight occasionally and summoning minions, that was a fairly brutal battle."

Clenching his right hand into a fist within his pocket Calrex remembered the lives lost in that fight, specifically one. It was the young man Azide, whom was the former guild leader of Square One, Oikawa's original guild, and one of the more clear-headed people he had met in his time there. He was an honorary member of the Spectrum Coalition, back when it was still an unofficial group. Giving a small sigh he let his fist release, "I guess if we're thinking of it in sequence, it may be that Rohk's fight forced us to be more aware of more things we might not have thought of before, things that we could take into account when Bialas came around, even with the limited information we got."

They had done it. Truly, the idea mentioned in passing, a plan that seemed to have been formed on a whim, had been announced as a reality. And as reclusive as the ginger girl had become in her virtual life, the word 'library' was the one that would surely cause her to peek her head out of her dusty old alchemy shop. "God, you'd think you saw a sign for the exit door. Can you slow up even a little?" The chestnut-haired Koal had to break into a short job to catch up to the bespectacled girl that walked with hurried strides to the teleport plaza of the first floor. Despite her smaller stature and shorter legs, Aster seemed to move at a pace just annoying enough that Koal had to put in extra effort to keep up with her. And of course, weaving between their ankles and darting along to match their pace, bright orange fur that matched his owner's hair twitched with Reginald's tail while the curious fox gave an occasional sniff at the ground and the air around them.

"For the last time, you can stay back at the shop if you're going to complain." The British youth frowned with a lack of patience for his attitude. She called out the name of the nineteenth floor's main settlement once she'd reached the center of the teleport gate, whisking hers and her familiar's avatars away to the higher floor. After a moment to get her bearings, Aster set off to find the building that was supposed to hold this Aincradian Library, with a scowling Koal following shortly after her.

Tsu continued to read about floor 10 by herself and found a few good spots to grind and gather ingredients. All the while she listened in on sir Jonathan and sir Calrex's conversation. They had been mainly talking about Bialas and Rohk, both of which sounded horrible to deal with during those boss raids. Tsu remained silent, not wanting to butt in at all. But their whole conversation made Tsu question her own build and what she could do in boss fights. She had rank 4 first aid, and that was it. Tsu planned on becoming a tank, but how long would that take was her main question. Tsu continued to delve into her thoughts as she listened to the two of them, now looking at them from her seat.

Jonathan found Calrex's next words to be rather appeasing to the ears. Calrex had just acknowledged that his work had been for something. Jonathan nodded, understanding his payment was already being paid out. Just speaking of boss raids, it was good to see that Calrex agreed that the Frontline boss raids were no longer for Tier Two players. It appeared that the damage that got by tanks from Area of Effect damage. From what he had heard, the cloaked player had taken over 300 more damage than her max health. It appeared Jonathan had hit a nerve when he mentioned Rohk. Calrex clenched his face, as if a sour memory resurfaced. He did speak though, mentioning that both Rohk and Bialas just seemed to be Eye openers to show them how powerful a boss could be in any field of battle. "Indeed, I believe most of these first Twenty-Five floors will be like tutorial bosses, showing us what we could see. Floor  25 and beyond i believe is when we as players should start getting scared about boss fights"
