Kioshi: HP 7/20

Wind Wasp Queen: HP 23/50 -- Hate: 3 to Kioshi ; 1 to Neopolitian

BD: 5

MD: 10

Luck isn't holding hands with Kioshi for long, however. It just leaves him and now it is up to him to fend for himself. The wasp has finally found a way to launch its attack successfully too. It circles Kioshi again, but only once and without warning, it uses its stinger to slash him at his unarmored back. He grits his teeth in pain as he hears the sounds of his slightly torn shirt and his flesh being cut. He turns around and looks at the wasp angrily as it buzzes away, preparing for another attack.

Kioshi also notices that his health meter is drastically decreasing to a measly number seven. [censored]. Kioshi realizes that attacking is not a very good option, and thus recovery must be done. With the wasp eager to attack however, the risk of getting stung again before he can sip his potion is quite plausible.

Neo watched as the wasp queen got a successful hit onto Kioshi. Thankfully he didn't go down immediately, though his life total was very low. Neo prepared another strike, hoping that she could draw the queen's attention. She unleashed all four stabs into the abdomen, connecting with each. And though her health dropped another solid amount, she remained fixated on Kioshi. The game seemed to want to take out the first aggressor, or maybe the sight of a low health bar was driving it to get a kill.

I wonder if the enemies can see our health bars much like we see theirs. It could drive them the same way it drives us. Even if there are risks, they press on in hope that they can finish the opponent before they are killed themselves. If that is the case, I really need to give this game more credit. If they use the same AI for each enemy, it would also explain how they are evolving. It means that even the simplest of enemies could become deadly if killed one too many times with the same technique.

Kioshi: HP 9/20 (Drank starting healing potion. Restored +50 HP!)

Wind Wasp Queen: HP 7/50 -- Hate: 3 to Kioshi; 2 to Neopolitian

MD: 7

No time to think of a strategy. Kioshi quickly whips out one of the starting potions and drinks it swiftly. Immediately his health is restored to its entirety. This attempt however, only delays what is possibly an inevitable fate as the wasp suddenly rams its stinger against Kioshi's breastplate like a lance, managing to pierce through a part of his armor. Kioshi drops the now empty vial as he quickly takes a step back and grabs the wasp, pulling it away and throwing it at a distance.

Kioshi touches his chest and notices that his full health decreases again. This is bad. If this keeps going on, he would not only run out of potions, but he is now in a world of s*it too. Attacking would be risky for a low level player like him.

He looks at the girl's rapier that slashed the wasp to near oblivion earlier. Here's hoping that she can try to finish it off. The rewards do not matter to Kioshi. His life is at stake now.

Neo watched as Kioshi drank a potion right as he took another hit. The attack did a little less damage this time, but it appeared as though he would be living off of health potions if Neo didn't end this fast. She looked at the backside of the wasp queen, scoping out her attack. She wanted to go in with a plan this time, not just throw her sword's weight around. As she finished her thought process, she gave a slight smirk. She charged up her attack and launched into the air. Her first strike cut off the left wing of the beast, causing it to tilt towards the side. As she flew above it, she took a stab at the now exposed right wing, cutting it off as well. The wings shattered into pixels as the queen fell to the ground. Neo came down on top of it with the third stab of her attack, Pinning it further to the ground. As she withdrew her rapier, it bounced up into the air. Neo waited just a little bit and then stuck out her blade, letting the beast fall on top of it. As it sunk down the blade, it too shattered into pixels. Neo still had a smile on her face as she turned towards Kioshi. The rewards screen popped up and Neo confirmed it after looking over what she had gotten. It wasn't much but still worth helping someone out. The menu minimized and Neo looked towards Kioshi, waiting to see what he would do.

Alas. Kioshi sighs in great relief as he witnesses the wasp's demise. Too focused on trying to kill an 'old' man only to be killed thanks to its greed for slaughter. After the wasp dies, he notices the girl getting the reward she deserves and returns her gaze to him with a slight smile and a small bow. Though it may be a bummer that the wasp does not drop any extra COL or materials, at least it provides valuable battle experience and its stinger.

Right. The stinger. Kioshi sheathes his sword as he notices a new window popping up at where the wasp died. The Martriach's Stinger. That large bugger. Would make a good small weapon that could be use in stealthy situations. Too bad its frequent use by the wasp had gradually made itself blunt, especially after it went through Kioshi's breastplate.

The venom inside could still be used though. Plenty to share between himself and the girl. Soon, the game cracks open the stinger and divides the poison among the two players.

Though Kioshi is now ready to go...he still feels like something is amiss. There is a small rumor of a treasure chest supposedly hidden somewhere in this wasp farm. Wonder if that is worth the time to find it.

He looks at the girl and, for the first time in Aincrad, he speaks in a gruff, yet quiet voice, "In the mood for treasure hunting?"

As the loot from the quest was divided up, Neo listened to Kioshi's request, she nodded her head in agreement and quickly donned the cloak of eyes she had. It wasn't much, but it still helped a little bit. It didn't take her long, but she managed to find herself a treasure chest. She beckoned Kioshi over, wanting him to be there when they opened it. Though the chance was low, she would want the help in taking on the possible mimic. Of course, he would likely dive into the line of fire once more and Neo was unsure how well he would be able to take hits from it. It could be especially bad if it spawned at her stats, he would almost certainly go down in a single hit from that if it did occur. Switching back to her attacking gear, Neo made sure she wasn't too strapped for energy at the moment. It would be no good if a new fight did break out and she was unable to defend herself.

Received 150 COL, 3 Materials and 2 Rare Consumables!

Gave 75 COL and 2 Rare Consumables to Neopolitian.

Not wanting to risk provoking a mimic with his hands, Kioshi draws out his sword and stares at the treasure chest with a menacing gaze, trying to see if this thing even breathes by staring at the lid. Doesn't seem to be slightly moving up and down. Still, he gives the girl a one second stare before he quickly kicks the treasure chest and takes a big step back.

Nope. No sign of life is visible here. The chest neither moves nor opens its lid to reveal sharp rows of teeth and a long tongue. After kicking the chest a second time, Kioshi confirms that this chest is just an ordinary one. He opens it with his bare hands to find plenty of COL, three crafting materials and two rare consumables, presumably food with buffs. These foods aren't really what Kioshi needs now. As for the COL, he thinks it is better if he gives some of them to the girl.

Which he does, and he keeps the materials to himself. That is all to it. Immediately after giving you your share, he takes leave immediately without a word. His job is done. Now his pay is up.

Neo held her rapier ready to attack as Kioshi cautiously opened up the chest. Thankfully, it didn't move and he was able to open it without issue. Inside were a few items, but not much of note. He handed her some unidentified consumables and some Col, she assumed for compensation. She took the gesture kindly, though it wasn't needed. If he wanted to give back, she was fine with encouraging that. It would mean that the next time someone helped he would give back something meaningful. Double checking her inventory, Neo began to head back towards the main settlement. She didn't disband the party yet though, she would leave that up to Kioshi. If they reached the town before he decided to disband it, she would do so though. There was no point in lingering in a party once all members were back into a safe zone with no objectives left.

(OOC: post the thread summary whenever you're ready to finish. The Col reward from the chest is also multiplied by floor, so it should be 150)

Back at Urbus, the main medieval settlement in Floor 2, Kioshi has a dinner consists of ribs and a cold mango juice. A delicious meal that he deserves to have after going through s*it back there.

He thought of the compensation he gave to the silent girl. Were they really enough to thank her? She was smiling all right. She was thankful. Still, 75 COL didn't seem to fit for the price of accompanying someone. Those rare consumables? Who gives a rat's ass anymore? People nowadays seem to rely mostly on alchemic help. Potions. Crystals. As Kioshi thinks of all of this, the inn he is in begins to be a bit crowded. Won't be long before the seats are all full or reserved.

After finishing his meal, Kioshi immediately heads upstairs to one of the rooms he rented for a week from tonight. Shedding his shirt off, he slowly lies down onto the bed, sleep soon takes him over as he thinks that everything will be alright for him, no matter the situation.

And he really needs a new set of armor. The breastplate is more or less obsolete in battle now.
