[F4] The Wayward Market (R2 Merchant)- OPEN

Recommended Posts

The Wayward Market

image.png

Outside of the city of Snowfrost on floor four- but still inside the Safe Zone- there is a simple shop and home. Made of cedar wood logs and cobbled stone this squat but cozy two story building is the Wayward Market. A simple shop of the merchant, Cosi, the inside this shop looks more like a cozy cabin then a shop with a roaring hearth, simple seating arrangements, personal effects, and chest full of what items the owner has. In a separate room towards the back of the cabin is where the actual shop is.

image.png

The back room is where the actual shop is. One half of this room is dominated by large work benches as well as numerous shelves where implements and tools hang. There are a couple armor stands and weapon racks where arms and armor, some identified and some which still need to be identified, rest. The other side of the room is akin to a general store. Behind a counter are simple foodstuffs, items like teleportation crystals, other essentials, and oddities.

The Wayward Market is finally open again for any player who needs staple items or more likely want items identified...

Cosi trudged through the snow pack- Cosi loved the cold but up here on floor four it was freezing- over to his very own store, the Wayward Market. He had come here as soon as finishing the Earning a Living quest after remembering the quaint and peaceful spot on his journey up to Floor Six for that creepy Gemini quest. Cosi shuddered at the memory. Still the shop was cozy, if small, and the area was beautiful, if cold. And now that he had his own work space for identifying items he was going to identify the sword he had found after looting that boar.

So he entered the building, took of his snow-covered boots, set them by the door, and entered the toasty warm cabin. He headed to the back room, taking out the dirt and mud covered sword as he did so. Time to find out what this thing did.

After cleaning away the rust and grime till the blade looked pristine, Cosi could tell the sword had a slot of damage and paralyze on it which was infinitely better than his current weapon.

Cosi had just enough time before heading to floor six to identify the items him and Katagawa had found on their boar hunting excursion: a rare great sword and a rare consumable. After cleaning off the grime and dirt from the sword and then shining it, Cosi moved to the to the potion. After removing the stain of silt and polishing its surface, Cosi could see the stats of both. The sword had a slot of bleed and taunt meaning it would deal lasting damage and anger enemies more. Cosi decided to call the massive zweihander, Wound. The potion on the other hand had a protein buff meaning it would give damage at the cost of armor. Cosi christened it the Overkill potion. Before he left the Wayward Market Cosi sent Katagawa a message that he had identified both of her items so she could pick them up when she wanted.

Cosi still had more items to identify and now that he was back from his excursion to floor six he was going to do just that. I wonder... which items should I identify today? Cosi decided on the armor and the consumable. He sat down at his workbench and got to.. well work. The suit of armor was good, not as good as the plate mail Macradon had made Cosi but still Coi would keep it. Just for kicks. The consumable was another protein, which made sense because the other consumable Katagawa and he had found had been a protein as well.

Time to identify some more items. Cosi went to the back room, grabbing an apron and putting it on as he went, and affixing a simple microscopic monocle on. He picked up the final item he had that he had yet to identified. It was a simple long sword like his but of lower quality. Also Cosi had yet to find out what it did. So Cosi began to clean and appraise the the weapon. He cleaned off mud, and grime, and rust. He sharpened and shined it. And he was left with a sword with two slots of accuracy. Nice, Cosi thought to himself as he set it aside, But not as good as my own sword.

Cosi returned from floor five, took off his sweaty and sand covered armor, and then took out the sword Mars had found and given him. Cosi didn't need a new sword. He was just trying to quickly gain experience and rank up. Cosi set to cleaning the sand covered blade with a wire brush. Once the cleaning was done Cois realized this sword was exactly the same a s Messer- the first sword he hand Identified. So he shrugged and tossed it into the junk sell pile where it quickly turned into particles of light. He didn't need two of the same item.

Cosi had just finished inking in costs and for identifying and prices for general goods as well as cleaning up his work space some more and setting up his general stock area. Now there is only one more thing to do. Cosi took a deep breath, walked over to his window that faced the road entering Snowfrost, and flipped over the sign that said Closed to the side that said Open. Then the platinum blonde player headed into his work room to get something then he headed out side. The tank player exited the shop with a wooden pole that was a couple inches taller than him and walked out to the roadside. There Cosi set up the wooden pole which was in fact a sign post with an arrow pointing back to his shop and the words The Wayward Market carved into the wooden sign. Cosi looked up at the sign and smiled, "Now if I only got some customers.

The Wayward Market is now Open

Time for some more Identification. Cosi pulled out the item- it looked like a consumable- that he had gotten when fishing with Hei, sat down at his work bench, and set to work on cleaning it up. The blonde haired merchant painstakingly brushed away clay and grime with a wire brush, switching to a file when the deposits of minerals were too tough. After a couple minutes Cosi was left with a stoppered glass vial containing a plum colored liquid. Cosi gave a small shrug. He had Identified a couple of these consumables before. They were good if you were willing to sacrifice armor for more damage. Cosi stood up and put it with the other consumables he had identified.

Finally more stuff to identify! Cosi sat down at his work bench, set down his cup of hot cocoa, pulled out his bristle brush, and began to work. he fist worked on the piece of armor he had found when grinding for loot in the Glacial Cove. It turned out to be an interesting piece of equipment: savvy and recovery. Could be useful for energy recovery. After that piece he ranked up so he went and retrieved the two tier three weapons he had gotten when questing with Shield. One massive ax turned out to have two slots of taunt and a slot of damage. Not a bad weapon if he really needed to draw attention. The other ax had bleed and keen, perfect for leaving lasting wounds. After that Cosi pulled out a potion he had also found during his grinding session and identified that. It turned out to be a prosperity potion which would actually help out to get more loot during his next grinding session. Thought that wouldn't be for a good amount of time. After that Cosi set his tools aside, picked up his mug of hot coca, and headed back to the fireplace. He was out of identifications for the day anyways.
