[F3-PP] Hunting Opal <<DHA 3>>

Recommended Posts

Mars takes a calming breathe as he adjusts his handwraps ever so slightly to be prepared for the enemy in question that he himself and Neo are going to face within a moment some kind of drakeling of sorts that can spawn enemies to aid in its attack against the duo of DPS. Mars himself rather ready for the foe ahead as he steps off of the teleport gate and quickly starts making his way through the main settlement of Delilah at a rather relaxed pace with his familiar by his side with a light veil of flames leading the way to force a nice pathway for himself to walk through rather than bumping through civilians to get his way through a town. Having all the confidence in the world that he himself will be able to down and kill the drakeling within a single hit like he had done the last one as long as he uses charge to supplement his strength against the opposition that he is going to face alongside Neo. So Neo what do you know about the drakeling? he asks out of some simple curiosity towards the ice cream girl about what she knows since it is good to know what the other does to fill in any information the other might not know about the quest if one holds more information than the other.

Knowing that there was going to be a fair fight coming eventually, Neo made sure she still had everything in its place as she walked alongside Mars. They had made their way to the third floor now and were in pursuit of the next drakeling. Unlike last time, it seemed as though there was already information on it. Perhaps this was a quest that others had already done. Neo had never paid much attention to the various information brokers, afraid one of them might be her friend's killer. That meant she really didn't know much of anything as to what she could expect while she was leveling herself up. In line with this, she just shrugged to mars. Though it was putting her at a bit of a disadvantage, she was able to make her way through the game so far. Besides, she needed to make sure she could evaluate issues in the times where there wasn't information to go off of.

He was a white blur. Pinball sprinted across the third floor, clocking impressive speeds as his worn and faded boots carried him through bushes and undergrowth. He didn't think, but rather felt, and that fluidity of movement was what made Pinball the fighter he was. What he lacked in practiced technique he made up with the way he adapted to any given situation; and whether lucky or prodigious, his "style" was obvious in the way he traversed the forest. Trip over some particularly gnarly roots? Pop back up after a smooth roll. Nearly hit a tree? Deftly spin around it, brush it off, and act like it was intentional.
Of course, there were plenty of downsides to this type of movement. Because he adapted to situations rather than planning and preparing for them, it threw him off a good deal when something completely unexpected happened. Like a zombified mob actually being a speedster, or leaning into the water expecting to see a chest surface only to catch a lobster claw to the groin. Or flying off this ledge because he thought it was flat ground the whole way through. "Sh*t," he cursed, his coat whipping the air behind him.

He moves forward through the area to head towards the questing destination to finish off the mob for this floor to knock this floor off of his list of ones that he would ever need to come back to. To just finish his list one by one till he can say he has finished all of the quests that this game has to offer him just so he can know he is at the top or close enough to it to be comfortable enough. As the duo of Neo and Mars make their war through the third floor he glances towards the side and watches a certain spear wielder falls off of a rather nasty slope and manages to roll in the direction of where he is heading as he just shrugs and continues moving forward in teh direction of where his rival was. 'After all if this mob is stronger than what i can handle i can just have Pinball deal with it than to split the work evenly when it comes time for that.' he thinks to himself as he walks over towards the spear wielder and looks down at him with a amused look in his eyes. Well Pinball. Looks like fate has decided to bring us questing together once more, but this time i bring a friend her name is Neo. he says gesturing towards the mute girl.

((Note for future self: You are level 26 in this thread))

Neo walked forward with Mars. He seemed fairly confident that the two of them would be able to take out the next dragon pretty easily. Of course, by them she was thinking more of just Mars. Knowing him, he would take out the beast in a single hit. As they were walking along, they came across someone who had less than graciously face planted into the ground. As they picked themselves up, Neo recognized them as the other cook for the latest raid. She gave a slight curtsy, even if it was unnecessary, as Mars introduced her. Though it was a little unusual for her to be around multiple men without someone watching her closely, the situation actually felt rather normal. Perhaps it was the benefit of hiding behind a screen name. Or maybe it was the chance to finally break out of a shell. Either way, she would let the others speak their peace before they made their way to take out the next dragon hatchling.

In what felt like a strangely stiff and rushed introduction, Pinball was pulled into a group with his rival Mars, and the girl who seemed to keep popping up, Neopolitan. Or, well, Neo. It was probably easier to call her Neo. Rolls off the tongue better. He watched them start to walk off, probably expecting them to follow. And he did - begrudgingly. He knew damn well that Mars was more than capable of fighting anything on this floor. Why the hell did he have to come with? You don't have to, really. Maybe you're reading too much into it. Or maybe you're pushing yourself onto them.
Pinball squinted. Speculating was annoying, so he shook himself out of it. He took a few hesitant steps forward, wiping the dirt off his jacket, then slowly started to follow, a few steps behind the two at all times. He held no weapon, though he wore his armor under his jacket and over a cheap looking black shirt.

He grins over towards his rival who starts to follow him as he nods over towards Neo as well to acknowledge both of them. Well than i guess their is only the path upwards to go so lets go and kill that small dragon. he says in a calm tone of voice as he moves forward through the floor once more as her passes by multiple different trees spotting some wandering mobs of treants and elves that he avoid as the area slowly starts becoming more filled with foliage the closer to the questing area they go. The signs of treants or even other mobs being present as their can be heard some silent rustling of some creature through the different bushes and other foliage soft mutterings of words that are not understandable from being from a different language entirely. Sounding similar to the language that the eleven people usually speak around the floor.

(OOC: sorry for the wait, been dealing with stuff and this thread always ends up in the back of my queue)

Thankfully, there wasn't much of a need for introductions. Everyone here already knew each other, just not that they already knew each other. With the slight awkwardness of the nature of Pin's entrance out of the way, the three were able to make their way deeper into the forest. Pin seemed to be a little miffed to be tagging along with the two of them, but Neo just chalked it up to being rivals or the two guys having a bit of a bad past between them. It would be better if she stayed out of it, though it would probably come to a head at some point and knowing her luck she'd be there when it did. The group slowed as sounds were heard in the distance. And though Neo was ready and waiting for eventual combat, she was a little sad to lose the nice shade her parasol could give. Now, it would be giving her the protection that she would need in this fight.

(Then how about you put it at the FRONT of your queue? GOD, how ungrateful! How inconsiderate! Truly an unacceptable display for someone of your stature)

And with that, Pinball was officially apart of the hunting party. As the group fell silent and they traversed the serene elven forest, Pinball found his mind had begun to wander, as it usually did with nothing to hold his attention. The quiet of the journey soon started feeling almost suffocating. Instead of breaking it like every fiber of his being screamed to, he instead let himself wonder why Neo was the way she was - silent. All the time. She probably got asked about it a lot, but Pinball felt the need to as well. He sneaked slowly up behind the girl, putting his mouth as close to her ear as he could without immediately alerting the girl of his presence.
In a voice that most definitely was not a whisper, "What's your favorite icecream flavor?!
Then, laughing, he whirled around to her other side, throwing an arm out as if to put it around her shoulders (he didn't, though), "Favorite color? Food? Football team?" He paused for a second, squinting. "...jousting team?
In short, he ended up breaking the silence.

He glances back towards pinball and sighs softly and shakes his head but can't help himself but smile ever so slightly rather glad to have his partner back after so long having rather missed his eccentricities surprisingly. 'Well i guess that happens when one actually has someone they would call a friend.' he thinks to himself with a smile on his face as he moves forward with his hands in his pockets letting Pinball figure out that the girl is a mute rather than just telling him wondering how he will react to that since the spear wielder is a rather talkative one when he is in such a mood. He glances around the ground catching sight of some footsteps along the ground as the trio is walking through the forest the martial artist's posture shifting ever so slightly as he prepares for combat having noticed the footsteps were definitely humanoid and most likely recent if he can actually see them. 'Though if that is the case and i can actually see that did i just get lucky seeing them or did the game have them on ready to allow us to know we're close to the cave.' He thinks to himself as he smirks ever so slightly as the greenery near the trio slowly but surely starts to thin away as a nice dug out area leading underground is revealed seeming by appearance to not be naturally made and having a nice incline to slide down.

Neo was enjoying the silence. Though this didn't last long. Pinball had sneaked up behind her and begun bombarding her with questions. Though she was startled, she managed not to immediately spin around to look at him. However, as soon as he tried to even mimic putting his arm around her shoulder, she quickly pushed it out of the way and walked to the side of the group. She had no intention of answering any questions right now, especially when someone wanted to ask her so suddenly. Though Neo would've loved to just slap him for surprising her like that, she didn't want to be confrontational with a player she knew could probably take her out without breaking a sweat.

Why is it the first instinct of everyone to just bombard me with questions the moment that they figure out I'm mute. Sure I can answer them, but everyone suddenly gets curious the moment they think I'm any different then them. At least Roman kind of gets it, though he doesn't seem to communicate with words that much.

Oh, boy, she didn't look terribly happy with that. Mars seemed to think it was funny, though. Pinball hadn't cared about people for a very long time, especially not about how his antics made them feel. Still, though, he felt a tender curiosity for the quiet girl - even though he was pretty sure she could take care of herself. He wanted to know more about her, that is, but from her reaction that approach wasn't the way to do it. Not okay, Pinball decided, exhaling heavily through his nose. He shoved his hand deeper into his pocket, making a mental note not to get near her again. He took a few steps to the side himself, falling quiet again. He stayed quiet for a few seconds, considering apologizing. It's probably the right thing to do, Pinball nervously acknowledged... then annoyance flared up. Nah! Why the hell should I? Not my fault. I'm not gonna change the way I act for anybody! Even if it makes them uncomfortable!
And with that, Pinball sped up, catching up to walk beside his black-haired rival. "Mars," he whined, visibly struggling to conceal his smile, "when are we gonna get there? Boring as hell."
Pinball silently cursed himself for acting so weird, but made no attempt to fix it.

He glances towards his partner with a raised eyebrow before gesturing towards the cave right in front of the two of them with a amused look upon his face while doing so. Well you see Pin you decided to look right in front of you. You might've noticed it though i can understand how you might not be able to do so from focusing more so on talking to anything that lives within earshot. He says in a joking tone of voice toward the spear wielder patting his back in a friendly manner before glancing towards Neo and nodding towards the girl with a more serious look rather than the joking casual tone he takes with Pinball. The monster should be in the cave in front of us if you want first hit feel free to do so it should be a short ways down from this incline down to the cave, but from the fact we've had things watching us i would say expect something to be joining this dragon or to ambush us mid fight. He says towards the mute girl before he puts his foot on the forty five degree incline and just lets him slide down the cliff with his hands within his pockets his familiar following right after him.

There wasn't much else for Neo to do besides walk along with the boys after Pinball had thankfully not pursued his questions. The two of them talked a little bit, Mars seeming to berate Pin just a little bit for the ruckus he was causing. However, he did seem to actually be serious about this quest. That was a relief to Neo, as it meant she wouldn't have to worry about someone not carrying their own weight. Not that she had really been doing it herself. The group was able to eventually find themselves a cave. The dragon was supposed to be inside, though Mars was right about something following the trio since they found each other. Likely something that would give them some trouble as soon as they entered the cave and began to fight the dragon. Unless it was other players though, Neo wasn't too worried. The NPCs on this floor could probably be taken out by any of them in a single hit.

Pinball's hand slid across the shaft of the weapon he carried. He frowned, looking out against the cave. Then he turned back to glance at Mars, as if to say something - only to stop himself. He searched through his pouches and touched on the vials that hung from his belt, partially hidden by his fluffy white jacket. "Hrmm.." Pinball shook his head, then looked back at the group grinning. "Well, whatever! Let's get right to it." He hopped up to the edge of the cave. "You say it's in here, yeah?" Pinball stared dead straight at Mars, then looked back into the cave. Taking a deep breath, Pinball howled into the dark expanse. "Oi, dragon [censored]! How's about you come and take a bite out of these juicy little boys?! Eighteen naked cowboys in the showers at Ram Ranch!! Cowboys in the showers at Ram Ranch on their knees wanting to-!

He just stares right at Pinball and does the only natural thing even if it will give him a orange cursor and punches him in the back into the cave deeper and moves over towards neo and  looks towards Neo with a apologetic look as Pinball tumbles into the cave. I'm sorry for his behavior last time i was with him he wasn't this.....vulgar Neo. If you wish to do more DHAs i'll make sure he understands to tone it down or get left out. He whispers towards the girl before than backing away and walking towards the area as a small emerald like lizard appears from the forested and naturally lit area as it lets out a small shriek of fear as from the forested flora appears two elven beings in cloaks. He blitzes forward activating tornado kick as he gets in close to the three enemies as he slams his foot into each target making the cultist guards pop on impact and knocking the elf towards the direction of Neo. Expecting the girl to be able to possibly one shot this thing, or at least bring it to the red.

Pinball seemed to be acting rather strangely. At the very least, not the quiet and reserved type he had seemed to be when she was around lower leveled players. Perhaps it had something to do with Mars's presence. Though after he reassured her of what he was going to do, she didn't think that was the case. Once inside the cave, Mars was able to quickly dispatch the two people who were following them, which turned out to be elves. Neo hung back for the time being, wanting to see what Pinball had in mind for his own attack. If she didn't need to engage, then that would be the most ideal thing for her. Better to let the high level players take it on. Either that or she could let Pinball make a fool of himself trying to outshine Mars. It wouldn't happen, but it would be funny if they started to try and impress her while they were doing these quests.

With a quick flick of his spear, Pinball's demeanor changed. The deft way he twirled his spear up and around his shoulder, though remaining wary of the corners and roof of the cave, finally made his skill and martial prowess a bit obvious. The boy who didn't at all seem the type of a fighter waited for Mars' spinning kick to come to a stop. Time seemed to slow. Two of the elves that had for some reason accompanied the dragon burst into a bright blue cloud of shards. Pinball glanced over to Neopolitan, and, seeing her look as if she had no intention to join the skirmish, he charged forward, the pale blue, almost transluscent spearhead almost glowing in the dimly lit cave; and then that light was snuffed out as a shadowy mass of fog surrounded his hands and weapon.
He hit the hatchling with the force of a thunderclap - through his merciless flurry of stabs and slashed, the (at this point) helpless dragon hatchling could do nothing but cry out in pain as it was pushed further and further back against the wall. Though it wrenched his heart to do it, Pinball lifted his spear above his head - or as far as he could without hitting the ceiling - and brought it down on the hatchling's head, killing it instantly.

He watches the hatchling quickly get slammed into the ground and killed by pinball instead of Neopolitan which he could understand since the duo of him and pin are strong enough to handle most of the threats within this game for at least most of the lower levels the higher ones being debatable. He makes his way over towards the killed hatchling and picks up three little gemstones for the group as he hands one towards Pinball while whispering to him in a quite tone of voice to make sure that the conversation stays between the two DPS. If you can do so Pinball tone down...the vulgarity and strangeness that you usually come with there are other people around so it is just normal to at least try and be more polite. He says towards the spear wielder as he than moves past him and hands the other gemstone towards neo while Mars pockets his own back into the inventory that he has as he mentally checks off this floor for any quests that would be worth doing for himself. With that we have another hatchling down next up would be the fourth hatchling if we would want to do that today.

Neo watched as Pinball finished off the health that the hatchling had left. It was an impressive display of martial prowess, though it was severely offset by the lack of maturity he had displayed earlier Mars brought over the gemstone to her, and addressed whether they wanted to continue on immediately. Neo thought about it for some time. Though it was good that they were able to breeze through them for now, Neo realized that she was going to be lagging behind. Perhaps if she went out and got a bit more power for herself she could actually be of use to the group. Besides, she wasn't sure if she could spend any more of the day with Pinball acting like this. She sent out a message towards Mars and Pinball, letting them know her decision.
