[F13-EB] Demon's Crusade (T1-2 Boss Fight)

Neo retreated back from the priest, not wanting to incite any further attacks from it. It seemed that she had played her cards right, as they quickly unleashed an attack that hit almost everyone from the single party. Checking her own health bar, Neo noted that she had still yet to take damage thanks to her protection effects she had taken before the raid. That didn't mean that she couldn't go down in the blink of an eye. For now, she continued to stand back and watch the battle from a safe distance. If there was going to be more fighting, she would need to figure out the weak points in the boss. Once she was able to find those, she would be able to paralyze him. There was the issue with him slowly shifting, she would need to capitalize on any weak points she found quickly if there was a hope at actually taking the priest down.

The fight was a blur. Everyone was talking, yelling, fighting. He had no words to explain it, it was... chaotic. In the floor bosses, everyone was calm, disciplined, and highly trained, or high level. Here.... nearly everyone was a rookie who had no knowledge on just how dangerous this game was. He on the other hand, had more experience in that factor then probably everyone here.... And it was his fault. Sky slowly was slipping, his despressive state leaving him, slowly throwing him into a fury. His wolf, Silver, wimpered slightly at the aura her master was giving off, full of murderous intent. She noticed him start to sprint up towards the boss, the wolf sprinting up and jumping at the boss, swiping at it, growling, and distracting it. Sky, while his wolf did this, sprinted up, leaping intowards the boss. The bosses words had pissed him off, asking for help in cleansing humanity! That, that set him off. He went in, leaping up at it, avoiding whatever defensive the boss tried to use, kicking the blow out of the way as his right hand pierced into the bosses chest, knocking him back.

Kimi finally snapped out of whatever daze got her. It must've been first time jitters from being in a raid, but she wasn't sure what to put her thoughts on. A lot of what was going on was a blur to her as everyone knew what they were doing and she just stood on the sidelines. Soon her group started to do their job and attacked the evil priest. "Shoot i'd better get in there and help out." Kimi thought as she came back to the reality of whats going on. Quickly she gathered energy to her fist and prepared her best sword art. She charged forward just as the rest did and unleashed her All Might attack. To her it felt like she actually did a lot of damage, but the priest still didn't flinch at her attempt of hurting him. "Well a few more of these and you'll start to feel them." Kimi remarked as she backed off a bit.

Kairi simply rolled her eyes, this boss simply had just kept pushing her the wrong way. She didn't like how Miraak had continously thought itself to be some sort of god or savior toward all the different players that were here. Kairi had looked down, she knew she had done wrong in this world, however she wasn't going to back down and just accept this boss to be some sort of savior. Kairi looked up with a bit of a angered expression and moved forward and hit her with a bunch of upper and middle cut strokes dealing a fair amount of damage. "Can you shut up about being some sort of god, you aren't immortal. You can be brought down to your knees. In fact, you wont be able to once we're through." She had looked back at her party and said out to them "Great work everyone, we've almost put her through a run of its money."

He turned as the dark haired player would charge him, a red aura would take the players fist before it slammed into his chest. He would fall back, rolling on the ground and using his scythe to stop him from being knocked back. He would smile as a stun effect seemed to be warded off again. The next player would attack with a dagger, and he would send a pulse of energy to prevent her dagger from hitting him. 'None of these players are seeing my side... I don't understand. He said that people would understand' Another player, full of anger would charge him, slamming another fist into his chest. He would move slightly back and the player began to speak him, words that peaked his curiosity. "If you plan on killing anyone that supports me, are you really in the right? You kill for what you believe in, how is that different from me?" the boss pleaded with the man. 'Kill him' His mind told him. 'They will understand' he told himself. Another player would slam a fist into him and he would fall back. "HOW MANY MARTIAL ARTISTS DO YOU HA-!" Another player would cut into his chest with a blade, asking him to stop acting like a god. "My apologies, currently I am semi-perfect. If you all would have given me just a bit more time, I would have made myself a little more presentable. It isn't easy preparing the mortal body to control the power of the unholy."

He raised his scythe, gazing at the players. 'Who dies next?' A grin crept across his face. The flames returned to his eyes. 'All of them!' He once again raised into the air, his scythe igniting into flames. "Proverbs 23:14 ~ Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell" He slashed his weapon across the air, sending blazes of fires to burn the players. He was sad when he seen that most of them dodged. "Dodge my flames, but you can't dodge judgement". He floated back to the ground where he gazed once more at the third party. "It would have been wiser to side with me. Only then could you escape the true purification of humanity. Christ died to cleanse the sins of humanity, but never ensured that the sins would return"

Taking a breath, Miraak would turn to the next group. "Surely each of you understand. Two of you have firsthand seen the destruction caused by the unchained frontliners. Order must be brought, Sin must be wrought"

He watched as players verbally attacked the boss more and more. At the same time however, the boss was retaliating, dealing damage against the parties. Most groups seemed to be handling it very well, but his group... Sunova had half her health at this point which really concerned her. Besides her, Dazia's health was the lowest in his current party. Rhozarth shot out of nowhere and breathed a jet of flame into the man's hood but didn't charge at him. Domarus told him to play it safe for now.

Hazado watched as party three seemed to be getting hit by a full attack, But Hazado was getting distracted as He was that Neo also got hit out of the party members got his. He did not want to see the person he cared about getting hurt and Hazado began to act a bit reckless looking at Miraak with an angry look. It felt weird the moment Miraak talked about the 'Frontliners' And 'players' What the hell was going on here as a Boss knew these terms. But Hazado was not thinking at all and was just mad at Miraak for hurting the person he cared about being Neo. Hazado Did not say a thing and slowly walked up to Miraak almost if he was about to give up, "MIRAAK!" He yelled at him slowly getting close to him with his trident low in his hand. "Siding with you... It sounds good, Stong powerful person in lead... Yes, You seek forgiveness, you can have it once you see true to yourself, But one problem," he said as he was in range to hit Miraak with his Trident."You Hurt the people I care about, And There is NOTHING THAT CAN CHANGE MY MIND NOW... YOU MUST DIE!" He said sounding very Angry now. As his Trident gave off a blue glow Hazado did a fast Jap to Miraak, who only seemed to dodge the attack, yes maybe it was a bit clear what was going to happen but still, Nobody touched the people Hazado cared about.

Mina winced as she saw several more waves of flame swipe forward, and damage the others. It was a devastating AoE attack for those who didn't bother with mitigation, and it even did DoT... seeing her friends and comrades get hurt, and among all of them, she worried about Black, Kyoto, and Vigilon the most. Her friends were getting hurt, and it quite frankly made her see red. Mina charged forward again, this time her blade glowed with the same splash of light that always appeared when she attained a critical. she skewed into Miraak with the very same sword art, inflicting bleed on Miraak yet again. "Naa... I think that <<Crucifixion>> might just be my lucky move when it comes to fighting evil folks~" she said blithely, a smile playing along the edges of her mouth. "Regardless, I think that picking on the lower levels is a bit harsh, isn't it Miraak? Actually, I think it's more of a fact that alot of the people in this raid are actually kids!" She traced the cross shape with her blade, and skewered the fallen priest in the throat with the last attack, leaping back the instant she finished. "Sunova, please take care of yourself and Dazia. " she said softly, glancing at the two girls that were behind her. "Please. I'd feel terrible if something happened because you two were too worried about someone else to focus on yourselves." She glared at Hazado when he started shouting at Miraak. "You're wasting a well-thought out speech, y'know?! It's just programmed to act human!" she shouted, glaring at the brown haired player. "... though I do agree with the fact that you're saying that to him, He is definitely in the wrong for this!"

So much had occurred since Dazia landed her first attack in the fight. Now Miraak's appearance had changed, and he seemed to give the players strength for some reason. She shook her head, realizing that she was just standing there. "Get your head in the game, Violet, you'll never last the fight if you just stand around!" She heard Miraak speak of this being only a mere fraction of what he can bestow the players when his goal was accomplished. "How foolish of him, thinking that granting us power can sway us to his side...all he did was make a grave mistake that will surely be his downfall." She smiled. "...Do you really think we are still willing to take your side, Miraak? This power you have granted us will only speed up your downfall, so don't get cocky." When Miraak spoke to her party directly, her response was, "Order, hmm? Perhaps there is a need to bring order...but you shouldn't be the one to do it, especially with the methods you're using..." People were going mad and/or emotional in this game, and it was causing all kinds of player-caused chaos around, especially player killers who murder for the sake of murder. Chances were, she would need to do something about it one day...but not today, for an even worse threat to survival needed to be slain. She waited for at least one player to attempt an attack, then she rushed for the boss, attacking with Neutron, a high powered thrust of her blade that pierced through him.

Sunova looked as things happened and it was getting quite a battlefield, people shouting getting hurt and more things. Miraak did not see to be very keen on anything But Su did not care as he was fake a fake god. Su really did never believe in things like gods and other things around that subject so she just ignored everything Miraak was saying. Then she heard Dom say something "It is Su, But sure, Like In Su-Nova" She said moving quite fast over to Dazia, "Hey Dazia, Holding up fine, Just ignore the boss idiot and all his fancy talk, IN the end he is a fake, and he god too," she said as Dazia stands still after her attack and lays her hand on her shoulder healing some of her HP. She then turns to look at the rest of her party and her eyes lock on to Hazado, and she just faces palms herself, "HAZ STOP THAT! YOU STUPID IDIOT, GET BACK HERE IN SAFE DISTANCE!" She yelled at him as he seemed to become quite reckless.

It was getting worse and worse. With every group of them attacking for another round, Aereth got more and more disgusted with every heroic and over dramatic speech. Yes, back in the day he also was a 'lore guy', trying to get the most out of every story and character in a game. Immersion was the keyword. But in here it was something different. Immerse yourself too much into the story and you are at the risk of losing your life for real. Only one stupid move, only one heroic speech too much...

Shaking his head, he simply opted to stay quiet. One: remembering how trying to give some stupid players a reality check went the last time and how everybody antagonized him for it, and two: it's impossible to to explain to somebody stupid... well that they are stupid... With that in mind he simply focused on the fight, sneaked up on the boss again, before landing a critical hit on it. His phase enhanced blade went through the avatar of the boss like a hot knife through butter, before he retreated back behind the safe spots of their group tank.

(OOC: Due to confusion of the actual effect, we are retrying it since it is an important part of Miraak. Please understand there isn't supposed to be anyway the players realize anything about the strength they gain. Alluring Power - The priest taunts the players, telling them that if they side with him in this fight he will grant them permanent power that will help all their goals. He gives all of them a sense of that power for one round before removing it, only promising it to those who side with him. This 'power' they feel does not actually increase their stats in any way. It only makes the players feel as though they had, and also prevents them from realizing that their stats aren't growing. Even after the effects cease players cannot figure it out, regardless of what other players say.

He frowned as the first player would begin charging him again. 'Why don't they understand? They were supposed to!' The red haired man would attack, swinging with a large ax. The weapon would be met by the shaft of his polearm, only giving him the blunt blow of the force. He would become knocked back and warned to stay away from the man's team. 'Kill them all, they aren't going to understand. Just follow according to plan and all will work out' A jet of fire would push back the thoughts and for a moment the players would be able to see his face. What they would see is a purely black face, his lips having vanished. Most of his features were torn or charred away, leaving only his flaming eyes. He would turn to his left as a player would charge, sounding as if he would be interested in joining but threw it all away for the sake of his friends. Sighing, he would easily deflect an oncoming blow from the boy and then become impaled by the strike of a rapier. As the player would shout that he was in the wrong he would smirk. "Ahh, but you look as if you are just as guilty. Have you not committed a sin in the past? Even if my sins aren't forgivable by the likes of you, you aren't the judge"

Another rapier would come into contact with his body, and the words of a disbeliever would catch his ear. "You keep failing to understand that my methods have only be accomplished by the souls of the willing. They gave the very strength of their life for me to be able to serve humanity" He would watch as another player tried creeping up on him, a smile catching his lips as the player began an attack. As the player's blade was swung, he brought his scythe forward to deflect the blade but the weapon seemed to go through his own, striking him directly on the chest. His eyes would widen as flames would pour from the wound.

'Kill them now? None of them seem interested in following' He would step back to speak to the players again. 'They are mere mortals. Slow to the point, they will follow. They will understand. She promised me that' He would clear his throat before the raspy voice would speak to the players. "Alright. It seems many of you failed to understand my offer. I am willing to work with you, I have no wishes in harming any of you" He would wave his hands, returning the warrior's boosted strength feeling. "However, if you feel the need to fight, I can lend this instead. They will be more than glad to serve you".

He floated into the air once more, a smile reaching form side to side. 'Show them what it means to not follow' A jolt would fall through the man's body. 'FINALLY' the voices would shout with glee. The fire in Miraak's eyes would become black instead of orange and red. His voice would become more forceful, the voices angry and compressing instead of attempting to be persuasive. Players would be able to clearly see the change of Miraak. "Mere mortals such as these are hardly anything to just waste my power on. ACCEPT THE OFFER THAT GRANTS LIFE, OR DIE FIGHTING A HOPELESS CAUSE!" He would swing his scythe, sending large blasts of black fire into the party and bringing many players even more dangerously low than they were before.

As he landed on the ground, he would smirk. He would be much cockier now, uncaring of those attacking him. They would all be decimated as soon as he got around to fighting. Of course, if they wished to follow Miraak's words than they would allow them refuge. 'Anyone still wishing a fight?" 'Remember we still want them to join'

Kyoto looks at the boss with a serious look. “Now look here sir let’s make this quick. We have other things to do than sit here and fight you.” Kyoto gives off a giant smirk. Running on to the boss as he activates his sword skill. Jumping up and doing a front flip while landing in front of the boss as lightning surrounds the area as smokes clear between the two. “Now let’s finish this here and now.” Kyoto says with a serious look. “I don’t have time to play your game nor do I have time for you.” Kyoto started to sound irritated more than his normal self. Kyoto looks around for his other teammates as he then jumps back and watches everyone else to come up and fight. “Alright guys lets finish this b*****d once and for all!” Kyoto continues to smirk as he looks over near Dom to see his reaction to all what’s going on lately.

Once Cosi realized that the priest's new and improved demonic form was much stronger and immune to paralysis and stuns as well, Cosi realized that the curved sword that Black had given him would be practically useless. The blonde haired tank quickly backed up and took a second to look through his inventory. He located his preferred sword Raiserklinge and equipped it. It wouldn't be much better but on the off chance he critted and did slightly more damage Cosi would be happy. AS Cosi felt the familiar grip of his arming sword he looked back towards the event boss just as the demonic priest lay into Hazado and Dom's group with a wave of hellfire. This boss sure does like his fire attacks. Cosi was scorched in multiple places from previous attacks and could still feel the burning embers of the last one. The damage wasn't too much or debilitating but the blonde player might have to drink a potion soon.

Miraak had gone from madness to insanity. As if it wasn't bad enough that Vigilon was damaged and burned. "My HP is slowly moving to yellow, I have the burn status ailment, and...well, I don't see how this could get any worse." Vigilon watched as something seemed to change about Miraak, and he let loose some black fire while spouting insane nonsense. "Alright, now he's really lost it." He shook his head. "As a matter of fact, I am still wishing a fight. Why? Because I can't just stand around here while everyone gets blasted by demonic flames like this, not to mention that The Lord clearly brought me here for a reason, and right now, I have more than just one reason to fight. I know what I'm fighting for. I'm fighting because The Lord sent me here. I also fight for the lives at stake here, I fight to help my allies! ...I fight since I have someone to protect." He glanced to Krysta for a second after he said this, and when he turned his attention back to Miraak, he finished his words with, "So don't think for a second that I'm going to let you off the hook here, and I'll leave it to God as to where your soul goes!" Sure, this may be a bunch of ones and zeroes that lack a soul, but he was kind of getting in the moment, not to mention, speaking in a way that the boss might understand. "We will all stop you, or die trying!" He said as he rushed in to attack with Tornado Kick, dealing less damage than he did before, so there must have been a change in the boss's mitigation, even though the monstrosity had given Vigilon a surge of power earlier. "As long as we keep going, it won't matter how long this battle takes, we will win the day."

Dustin stands and watches the battle until it is his turn again. At which point, his sword begins to glow blue as his smile grows on his face. So this is what happens when you prod the cattle before you break them. Most cattle will break and refuse to fight. Some will stand and be slain. I refuse to wither away into nothing. I will stand and die gladly. “If I die, I die with glory.” He runs in and quickly slashes the priest’s chest one way, and at break neck speeds moves back and finishes the V shape. The boy’s sword moves back and Dustin turns and runs back to his team so if he needed help, he could ask. I should’ve stayed home. My best barely scratches him and I’m not even tanking. I’m useless here, but damn, am I having fun. The smile grows on his face once again. “I guess even a mosquito can kill something.” He says, in reference to the damage he was dealing as what can only be called the most pathetic DPS player ever.

Krysta was about to take action some time ago, but she was caught off guard by a blast of flame. When she got back up, she noticed all the damage dealt to her party, as well as the burn status ailment inflicted upon all of said party members. "Ohhh, if only I was skilled enough to have learned the purify mod. I could be more helpful, and even help myself recover from this! I was ill prepared; I should have invested more into healing..." Sure, she had some healing items of her own that she could use for herself, but the one taking the most damage was of a higher priority. She needed to make sure Vigilon survived this battle, and his HP was drawing closer to the halfway point. She rushed over to him. "Don't give up, I'll keep you in the fight!" She activated her First Aid skill, restoring his HP a little. She and her boyfriend weren't going to die here. Not here, not now. She didn't care if she felt a bit stronger at this moment, now was not the time to be swinging a blade just yet. For now, she needed to focus on keeping her allies alive.

Black anticipated sustaining heavy injuries along with his group that had set up the offensive line in the center of the large arena. His squad maintained their resolve but noticed their forces weakening over time. The pressure began to grow as more stress was put on the healer and he had to maintain his duties as a tank. He surveyed the field and observed Cosi switching tactics. Black chose to swim with the tide and stick to his weapon as he focused on garnering the demon's ire. The heavy sinking feeling was almost punishing in it's own right as if bound by shackles that sought to bind him to the earth. However, he resisted oppression and trudged through the church as if he was wading through a deep sea. "Come on, we're fighting alongside the frontliners. Not all the demons in hell can overrun us!" He cried out as he landed an overhead strike upon Miraak's collarbone. "You're pathetic...this little tantrum you're throwing...I can't even tell if you're an angel craving chaos or a demon seeking peace...but hell even the Devil weeps when he remembers he once had wings."

They stood still as the players began to attack. The players were driven if nothing else. However, drive itself doesn't amount to much in the swing of things. They let the players come, smiling as they were attacked. The pain, the rage building up inside of them. Even if their current form was a mere mortal man imbued with their energy, they understood it was temporary. Once the ritual was complete, they would break out of this shell and take form as the greater demon they were. The players would strike, a dark haired man hitting first. He spoke that they were just wasting time. As his sword cut through his body, black fire would spew. His wounds would close, using some of his energy to do so. He would hear someone behind him as they charged, someone who dared still to fight. "Oh?" he would turn as a foot would smash into his face, the boss reeling back as the boy spouted more words. "Stop us or die trying? That's simply a waste of potential. You all think you need to fight for what is right, but what difference does it make in the end? You humans were created on the precedence of choice, able to go about your own path. What's wrong and right is simply chosen by the beholder of the choice" He would nod to himself. 'How's that for preaching, human?' 'Choice was granted, but you mentioned nothing of following the light of the lord'

A voice would snap them out of their conversation with Miraak, speaking that they were by the frontliners and not all the demons in hell could stop them. A grin would come to the hooded figure's face. "So those out there really are your friends huh? Pity. They never understood either. You see, humanity is strong willed, but it just is a weak race of creatures with no infrastructure. You bite off more than you can chew, forgetting your place!" He would ignore the players for a moment, moving over to the east wall. 'What are you doing? We're trying to get them to follow us'. A black aura would surround the man before he sent a shockwave into the wall, allowing it to seem to crumble before the players.

What the players would see is a scene of the frontliners, battling the black winged angel. The fallen angel. "You see here, children of the Holy Spirit, the Light, the Lord. Humans are brave creatures, but nothing more. Overconfidence and Pride runs in each of you. Your players attack an angel in cold blood and angered it. Angel's are the warrior's of the Lord, unable to be touched by man. Now they face the consequence. The Lord is no longer with them. The Priests abandoned them, and now they lay alone to die'. It was easier for them to create an illusion of what was happening or what happened before, so he had worked around that when creating his masterpiece. Of course, slight changes had to be made to make it more realistic, but the illusion was vivid and unable to seen through. There was no indication that any of this was fake. Only few of the players remained from the frontline players and the rest were in disarray. Ruby Beat and Seul, had all been removed form the picture, displaying to have either teleported away or died previously. Hestia, Shield, Macradon, Baldur, and Calrex were the only true to still fight. Zandra would be found, kneeling on the ground, a constant flow of tears streaming from her face as she gazed down at her ax. Morgenstern also knelt on the ground, his sword found several meters away as he stared at the angel. His eyes were that of a broken man, haunted by his past and unable to fathom the pain. Hestia was seen calling an order to the frontliners, her voice lost to the distance. It was clear however that fear itself crept into her face. Macradon was found trying to console Zandra to get up and fight. Baldur and Itzal were moving in on the attack, sprinting from around Calrex to take on the Angel. Baldur would attack first, being knocked back by a powerful shockwave that would shake the ground. As Itzal would begin his attack just afterward, he would leap into the air to attack the upper body of the angel. Before he managed to attack however, with lightning fast speed the angel would knock away Itzal's sword before he would be impaled by the angel's weapon. The sword of the angel would drive Itzal into the ground before he would crumble into shards of data.

They would turn away from the battle to look at the players. "The frontliners will fall in time. They were powerless to defeat their opponent"

He looks towards the arrogant hovering cloaked figure and raises an eyebrow in surprise at it managing to maintain its form for the second round of fighting as he just nods his head taking that as a small sign that it either got a small stat boost when it transformed to a degree higher than what he thought, or that it is just the game trying to make a easy enemy seem difficult by making it take longer to kill with each strike. Shrugging his shoulders he once more tries to activate All Might and grins as he watches his fists ignite with energy successfully as he looks over towards the cloaked figure with a smirk having a feeling that hitting this thing is going to feel rather good. He rushes forward once more towards the cloaked being and slams his fist into the creature's back as he watches the HP take a hit from seeing it deplete once more as Mars once more tries pushing the mob closer towards the players and the front of the church slowly but surely. 'Push it closer so we can surround it. No room to maneuver for it at that point.' He thinks calmly to himself as he remains as much as possible to stay behind the cloaked being to follow through with his plan. He gazes at he little illusion that plays out and just shrugs his shoulders keeping in mind the words of the priests that this is a being of deception, and more importantly if that is truly the fate of the frontliners than they weren't much to begin with if all it takes to break them down is one measly event boss.
