The girl teleported into the fifth floor, immediately causing a ruckus of NPC's. As a guard spotted her he would draw his weapon telling her to scram. Raising her hands inn the air, she would walk out of the town, entering the area outside of it. When it came to having an orange crystal, if you had the sneak skill you could still enter towns and use the teleport gates but you were never sure were the guards were when you arrived. Today, she had been rather smart when deciding whether she would walk around as Elucia or Hidden. Her cloak would have not been good for the desert sun, but the white attire for when she acted like Elucia was good. Today she was hunting the recreation of the Sand Shark which was apparently immune to both freeze and paralyze which limited her options.  In her white sleeve of Elucia's cloak was Nato's Might, a holy dagger that would do just fine against the boss she was going to hunt. While now she lacked in damage over time effects she made up for it in pure damage. She moved to her inventory and took out a few consumables. She needed to be cautious if she was going to go take on a dangerous quest by herself. She brought the damage potion to her lips, drinking its contents. Then she ate an accuracy food bar and called it good to go. She heard the boss was fast, and with her holy weapon she lacked her third accuracy enhancement that she had to make up for. The damage was to actually deal damage.

(I'll get stats next post when I'm hopefully on PC. Self-note: level 30, using Thorns Parasol)

Neo had found herself on the fifth floor once more. Though she had never liked the heat of it that much, there was still a few things to be done here. There was supposedly a very tough enemy that couldn't be paralyzed, and was also able to deal damage through armor. Neo was worried about whether or not she could take it on, but decided it would be a good idea to try and find someone to do the fight with. She considered trying to message a few of the frontliners she knew, but they had likely taken the enemy down plenty of times before. Instead, she tried to start looking for others who were around for the quest.

Parasol open and over her shoulder, Neo walked to just outside the town's safe zone. If ther was going to be someone attempting the quest, they would have to leave the town eventually. There was also a few convenient places to check out while waiting. Nothing was that interesting though, and Neo eventually found herself waiting under the extra shade of a tree in hopes someone would end up coming to her.

She moved through the outskirts of the town to head in the direction of the boss. She dropped the glass vial from the potion to the ground, it shattered on impact with the sand below her feet. She wasn't a fan of the heat and the sand, but if she wanted to get some level gain that she would most certainly need to take on the quest. As she finished heading towards the correct town gate, she would get a view of what seemed like another player just standing outside the gate. This intrigued her. Why would a player just stand outside of the town, especially one as hot as this. She would move towards this player, a smile playing on her own lips. She stopped a few feet away from the player with the parasol. 'Wow, she's actually really pretty,' she thought to herself before saying anything. She liked the way the girl styled her hair a lot. "Hello, why might you be standing out here?" She would flash a smile towards the other girl. 'She was a parasol, I hope she's not like those stuck up girl's at school. She even tries acting like them and I might just stab her here' she would think to herself while waiting for an answer.

While waiting outside of the town, Neo figured she may as well drink and apply the consumables she had brought along with her for the fight. As she was finishing with them, she noticed an orange player coming up to her. Though Neo was wary and loosened her blade hiding within her parasol, she didn't immediately attack them. Sure they were orange, but not all orange players had to be evil. Once the had introduced themselves, Neo relaxed much more and gave a wave towards them. She quickly sent a message their way, just using the 'send to nearby' button she had found so convenient in recent times. Once sent, she waited for them to read their response, equipping their armor in preparation for the quest ahead. It wasn't as nice looking, but she would want it for the protection that it gave her.

TO: Nearby players

Looking for some help on a quest. I hear that there is the evolved form of the land shark roaming the floor. I can carry a fair amount of my weight, but I know I can't solo it.

Neo had made a lot of progress with her general social fears. At least now she wasn't constantly mocked for her silence. Of course, she was instead questioned by every single new person she met. In preparation of more of these questions, Neo was already thinking up a couple responses to write for the more common ones.

The girl wouldn't speak to her, instead sending a message to all her nearby players. Her. Frowning, the girl would look into her inbox, finding the message and reading it. It said that she was looking for some help taking on the evolved Land Shark. She would close the message and smile. "What a coincidence, that is exactly what I am looking to do!" she would say with a smile. She was unsure exactly why the girl hadn't spoke yet, but it wasn't important. What was more important was the fact that she was almost certain she had seen this girl before. A flash of memory would strike her, her memory sparking the idea of a girl with a rapier, dealing quite a bit of damage to Miraak. 'I keep on running into everyone that was in my boss group for Miraak. These players must really be moving on up. There is a movement of the lower tiered players to the frontlines. I wonder what caused it' She would smile again before readdressing the girl. "The name is Elucia, nice to meet you!" her cheery voice bugged even herself, but it was supposed to be who Elucia was. So far, the act had done a wonderful job of allowing her to move around and let none know that she was there. Only downside, she couldn't party with someone as Elucia. With Sey being the only one who knew....

She would bring her white hood over her head and turn to the other girl. The girl's face was wary, but that made sense due to the fact that she was an orange player. Many players were and the potions effect wouldn't hide a green crystal. She would quickly look at her HUD and find that she still had four hours and fifty-three minutes remaining for the snowfrost potion. 'That should be plenty of time to finish a simple quest' she thought to herself. "Alright, if you are set we can go" She knew the other girl would follow with her weapon at the ready, but so far she had no means to attack this girl. She was quiet. Personally, she kind of liked that.

Neo listeened, and it seemed she had found an ally to do this quest with. As the girl greeted Neo, she sent a party invitation towards her. The invite served a couple purposes. First, it meant that she could give out her name without having to speak. Second, they were going to do a quest so it made sense to party together. This girl didn't seem familiar, but there was something about the way she carried herself that made her a bit suspicious. They were so cheery on the outside, yet they walked as though they carried some dark secret. She shrugged it off, assuming it had something to do with the reason they were an orange player. Nodding that she was ready to leave, she quickly deleted the message she was writing. It was great that she wasn't being questioned this time around. Though if this person held secrets, they would know how poorly questioning other's motives can go.

Elucia with cloak

Spoiler

The silence of the girl was starting to unnerve her. The woman's appearance was far too outgoing for her to be so silent. Normally, girls that looked like this at school would start by making sure that they were placed on a higher pedestal than her. This one didn't seem to be the case however. A party invite would appear in front of her and she would grimace. 'I have to make up something...' she would think to herself. She would press decline on the message, it fading into disappearance. "I don't exactly like partying up. It was used as an exploit to track me once..." She tried to quickly move away from the conversation by turning her attention towards the sands ahead. "I wonder if this boss will be a challenge. Most of the quest I have been doing lately have been far too easy" she would state plainly before bringing her cloaks white hood above her head. The only embarrassing thing was the ears. When she bought the item, she figured the ears would make her seem as harmless as possible.

Neo watched as the girl declined her party invite. Once she gave her reason though, she didn't mind it so much. As long as they both got a hit in, the boss would drop its items and they would both be able to turn in the quest. As they wondered aloud at the difficulty of the boss, Neo just shrugged at it. It was quite possible that this boss was gonig to be difficult for them. It was also possible that they would be able to finish off extremely quickly. Elucia brought her hood up, and Neo smilmed at it as it was rather nice. It looked innocent, but the orange cursor meant that she was anything but. Even in self defense, Neo knew the burden killing someone has on one's soul. She began to move out into the desert, letting the hot sun be blocked by her parasol, the blade firmly tucked within it now. There would be ample chance for Elucia to tak to her if she wanted to, but the boss shouldn't be too far if they decided to remain silent.

The woman still said nothing even as she gave her excuse. Letting out a sigh of relief, she trudged further through the desert. She understood that this would be a much harder boss and would more require her to get critical hits more than anything. With a faster boss, it was going to be much harder to hit normally. She hoped the the girl behind her knew this as well. Lost in her thoughts, she hardly notice the sand in front of her begin moving. Diving to the side, she would roll into the sand to just barely miss an attack. They would have to end this fast if they were going to survive. Neopolitan did not appear to be the tank type either. She would flick her wrist, a silver bladed dagger slipping into her hand. "Careful now!" she would shout to Neo before moving in for an attack.

As she charged in, her weapon would gain a blue aura shrouded in white. As the monster jumped up to attack her, she would sidestep, spinning to become a tornado, slashing thirteen times across its body before it escaped back into the sand. As it did, her weapon aura would fade and she would move away before a counter attack became in order.

The two walked through the desert without much more talking. It wasn't until Neo started to feel the sand shift that they actually had to communicate. Elucia had quickly gone forward and attacked the beast, but Neo found herself trapped inside of the swirling sand. This was much worse than the normal sand shark she had fought months ago with Spencer. Dragging herself out of the sand, Neo drew her blade from the neck of her parasol. No sense hiding it from the orange player, they were in combat now. SHe didn't put the parasol away though, instead choosing to have it remain open and act as a buffer between her and the beast. It may not look like much, but the parasol was actually very well reinforced and would allow her to get some push-back against the boss should it choose to attack her.

It's going to go for Elucia though. Really wish I had some way to get the mobs attention.

Her opponent kept her moving, unhappy that she had managed to deal so much damage against it. She watched the other girl pull a rapier out of her umbrella, which interested her. 'So she also keeps her weapon hidden until needed' She was beginning to admire the other girl. She had managed to leave her in the dark about herself by not saying anything, and she managed to conceal her weapon. Neopolitan was basically the perfect ally for her. Refocusing on the battle, the Terra Firma would move to the top of the sand, preparing to get a bite out of her. Aiming her weapon at the opponent again, she darted into to meet it in battle. Her weapon would once more take on its heavenly light once more. A grin would catch her face as she sidestepped her opponent again, striking along its left side this time. The shark would make a screeching noise before it moved back into the sand, Elucia smiling as it finished. One more hit like that and their opponent would be no more. She would stand in the sand, turning towards Neo. "It should be heavily focused on me now, this might be your chance" she would tell her, moving her dagger back into a reverse grip.

Neo watched as Elucia got another strike onto the beast, and Neo tried her best to follow up. As she charged through the shifting sand, she ended up losing sight of the weak spot she had begun to eye. Not wanting to take the precious time it could take to spot another weak spot, Neo quickly charged her attack and tried to stab the beast through the thick armor it had on. It didn't seem to do much, though she kept an eye for any status effects she may trigger from her blade. She backed up a little bit to make sure that any large sweeping attacks wouldn't hit her, but knowing this creature, it could easily entrap both of them within the sand within a matter of seconds.

I wish I could do a bit more to actually help. The beast is nearly dead and all I've done is tickle it's side.

  • 2 weeks later...

Her own fighting job was beginning to impress even her. With her amazing critical hits along with her holy dagger, Terra Firma had been allowed zero ground to start this battle. She watched as Neo went in for another attack, but the shark seemed to keep an even distance from Neo while it was focused on her. Raising her dagger again, she smiled a she prepared another attack. If she could just get lucky one more time, she would be done with this battle and instantly gain respect from Neo. Her weapon would gleam an orage light once more as she charged at the emerging Terra Firma. It was fast, but her entire build and body required her to be fast while she fought. She was no where near as precise and nimble as she would be, but she was decent. She would slice through the air, but the time the energy would not activate. Her power would not boos, her aim would not improve. Moving quickly, she would leap out of harms way, preventing herself from becoming a shark treat. If she would have acted a little faster, she might have managed to get a finishing blow in.

The fight started off quite well, though Neo was disappointed in her own performance. It seemed she wasn't wrong in her assessment of what Elucia was capable of. Neo continued to try and pierce the beasts carapace, but there was no weak spot showing itself to her. Her familiar wasn't doing much else useful, just flying above the fight in general. It seemed it was mostly going to be up to Elucia to actually take the beast down. Unless Neo got lucky and her poison coating seeped through the skin of the beast, it was going to be Elucia's damage that one the day. Feeling useless in the fight, Neo retreated a little bit. Perhaps properly gauging the situation would actually let her find the one spot she needed to actually get a hit. That one spot would be the way she actually got her damage in and would get the rewards for the boss.

With one of her attacks being a close miss, it was easy to say that her luck and run out. She was getting no additional help from the system any longer. Terra Firma would turn after her, rushing at her like a freight train at full speed. Her dagger would charge with energy once more, charging til it was at full power. She needed to accurate, and she needed to be precise. Gripping her dagger tighter, when it would come in range she would burst out in full speed, trying to bring her weapon across its body again. This time, without the help of the holy enhancement, her dagger would sink into her opponents body, dealing damage. Her enemy would burst into pixels and with a sigh, she would stop fighting. From her test it was obvious that Neo didn't pose a threat to her. Yet. She was a bit stronger than she originally anticipated, dealing an extraordinary amount of damage for a tier two player. With players such as Hestia and Itzal hunting her, she would need to breach that mark soon. She would sheathe her weapon, removing her white hood form her head and turn to Neo. "Well, he wasn't too bad was he?"

While standing back, it seemed that Elucia was already in position to finish the beast off. As it shattered, Neo saw the rewards screen pop up in front of her. She was already pretty sure about what she would be getting anyways, so she quickly dismissed it and listened for any sign that Elucia might be in trouble. It appeared that she wasn't, and Neo nodded in response to her little question. The fight itself wasn't terribly difficult, but Neo also wasn't able to contribute much to the fight. she was a little bit sad that her consumables had gone to waste, but that just meant her little talents could remain hidden for the time being. She didn't want to hold back, but luck made it such that she didn't have to tip her hand. This world had been cruel to her through surprise tricks, perhaps it was time she could turn those tricks against others. On the outside, she just smiled though. The fight was won and the two of them would hopefully have a pleasant walk back to town. Sheathing her blade back within her parasol, Neo opened it and placed it over her shoulder. She much preferred her floral parasol to this dull solid color one, but it was what she already had equipped.

With the boss finished now, she would quickly examine the reward with a small hint of glee. She was getting stronger, that was something Hestia wouldn't be anticipating. Large level gaps were being jumped recently and constantly training for perfection was making her faster. After losing to Itzal so badly, it proved to her that she wasn't quite where she needed to be. She had to get faster. All that she normally held on her side was damage and the element of surprise. Looking towards Neopolitan, she finally decided to pop the question. "You are never going to say a word, are you?" She wasn't going to ask why. Elucia would never be so pushy. If she didn't have to hide and pretend all the time, she might have been able to ask that. It was hard for her to just walk around and not get recognized these days. The girl would place her weapon into her parasol, resting it on her shoulder. 'That is really cool, I have to admit. I thought my idea of hiding a weapon was ingenious, but this is even better'. Whether the girl would begin typing a message or not, she would begin walking off. She wondered if the girl ever understood the weakness of having to type a message to talk with someone. She could be tricked into putting down her own guard as she typed.

The two of them chatted for a bit after taking down the boss. Well, as close as chatting as the two of them could get. Neo just shook her head at Elucia's question. She wasn't going to be saying another word, not unless the cost for doing so was refunded to her. As they began to walk off, Neo headed in behind them a bit. Hopefully they wouldn't mind the little bit of company while walking towards the towwn. Of course, they were an orange player and would likely be ducking into an alley to aavoid the gaurds as soon as they could. It was still strange to see someone so happy be an orange player. The only way they could've done that was either througgh theft or killing withotu provocation. Perhaps they had just lost their temper once against a lower level player and taken them out in a single blow. Regardless, she seemed like someone who would still be nice to be around. Once she had the time, Neo quickly typed up a message and sent it towards the girl. If Elucia turned towards Neo while reading the message, she would just give a warm smile.

Send me a friend request or a message if you ever want to do something together again. Always nice to have someone to quest with that isn't hounding 30 levels over me.

The other girl would shake her head, indicating she wouldn't be talking. It was clear there was some purpose for the girl not to talk. She would eventually figure it out, she normally managed to find things like that out. As they reached the town's boundaries she would turn to the girl. Neo, she had enjoyed. Personally, she liked the girl. Of course, she couldn't send any friend requests t the girl without revealing her identity. She was a wanted criminal now and she didn't want to have someone reporting that Elucia, her only escape form being herself, was indeed her. Hestia would know exactly who Elucia was as they had been together before. As a message popped up as they reached town, she would look to the girl who had given her a warm smile. She would close the message and smile. "If I see you around I will be more than glad to swing by and say hi" She would give her a parting wave before turning and beginning to dart through the town. As she entered, a guard would stand from his post and give chase after her but he was far too slow to be able to catch her in time. If Neo watched, she would hear shouting from the NPC guards, at least until she teleported out of the floor.

The two had arrived at the town withotu incident, and Neo was glad to hear that the two had the chance of working together some time in the future. Though it was rare to find people so kind, Neo was glad that this game seemed to house quite a few of those people. As she expected, there was no friend request, but that seemed to be Elucia's way of keeping her own privacy. No harm there. As Neo watched her duck past the guards and towards the teleporter, Neo closed up her parasol and switched over to her more flowery one. The fight hadn't really gone the way she had hoped, but at least it was something to mark her progress. She was getting more powerful, and she would hopefully be able to take things on more effectively as she progressed further in her levels.

I wonder if she was at that event fight. She seems awfully familiar, but I can't tell for certain. Guess it will be another of those mysteries I can figure out. For all I know it's an NPC disguised as a player who has a similar model. Porbably not, but that is a funny idea.
