<<The Essence of Steel>>

This quest takes place on Floor 4

Word from Information Brokers speaks of a mysterious Beast Skull found in the far north of the Frozen wasteland of Floor 4. A small party reported having struck the skull with a nearby bone, waking a huge beast in a nearby cave. This monster, identified as <Snow Beast>, was easily equal in health and strength to a Floor Boss, and is said to yield an incredibly rare drop upon death that will allow a player to enhance a single item, improving it's quality by one level.

Requirements:
-At least two [2] Pages (21 or more posts)
- The Snow Beast must be defeated

Snow Beast Information:
<Snow Beast> is a Field Boss and has the following statistics:
HP: 250
Damage per Attack: 160

Special Ability: Partial Phase- Snow Beast will always deal a minimum of 24 damage, even through Armor and Armor Abilities.

Rewards:

(Example, an Uncommon Weapon becomes a Rare Weapon.) Enhanced Gear is eligible for new Item Enhancements and must be approved through the Crafting Item Evaluation Topic.
Note: This item CANNOT change a weapon's Tier. (Example, a Tier 1 weapon becomes a Tier 2).

Zandra stretched her hands high up in the air as she sat in her bed newly awake. She scratched her neck before she opened her eyes and saw that she had got a mail. She wondered who would send her a mail this early. Anyway, she opened it a red thru it. Her eyes widened when she realized what this was. ‘’Oh my. Anise. I didn’t expected this from you.’’ The merchant was going to retire from her unique crafting and decided to just be a normal shop to sell stuff to adventurers. Zandra smiled, even if she had a grumpy behavior, she was a good girl on the inside. Zandra looked thru the items she was offering, but there was only one that was really attractive for her. But Anise wanted to make a name for herself as well. So Zandra picked six other items that would probably be attractive as well. She answered the mail to say that she should keep two to herself to make customers wanted to come to her for something else then shop items. Maybe she one day would be famous like another merchant Zandra knew about.

She headed to floor four, it didn’t took long until she saw the short red haired girl with twin tails. ‘’Hi Anise, this is really generous of you, you know that?’’ she said and gave her a warm hug. Then she threw up a quick message for anyone to read. As soon as six players had answered it, it would disappear.

Message:

Hi everyone!

The merchant Anise that is in charge of the Frozen cave on floor four is willing to hand out a few items with unique enchants. It is first come first served, so you better hurry.

-          Best regards, Zandra

Anise had been sitting on these unique enchanted items for a long time now. She didn’t remembered how long to be honest. It seemed that it wasn’t very easy to be a merchant if you are in charge of the black market. She would have to widen her customer range. But she didn’t knew how. That when one of the few buyers she had have appeared in her mind. Zandra probably knew. So Anise threw together a quick message and sent it to the alchemist that have shared her house with her. Which was a truly great buff for her, had made her get a lot of good stuff. Specially to Zandra.

Anise left her cave and went to the warp gate. It didn’t took long until Zandra appeared. She answered her hug and as the berserk healer putted up a message, Anise sent all of the unique items she had to the black haired woman. ‘’There, I guess now we just wait for people to arrive?’’

Baldur was surprised when he got a message from Zandra about some unique items that were up for grabs if someone came to help out. He quickly grabbed his haori, throwing it around his shoulders and closing the clasp across the chest as he headed out. As was often the case, Baldur was already on the fourth floor, so it only took him a few minutes to make his way from his favorite cafe to the teleport plaze where he saw Z and a smaller redhead that looked vaguely familiar.

"Ohayo." Baldur called out with a friendly wave as he stomped through the snow to catch up with the two.

"I'm Baldur." The Samurai said in greeting to Anise, giving her a slight, respectful bow. "You must be Anise... I have to say, this is very generous of you."

The gaijin then turned to Zandra and gave her a welcoming and friendly smile, "It is good to see you again, Zandra. How have you been?"

Ryo threw his scarf around his neck. Talking to Clarence opened his mind some, but there were questions and questions galore. His feet crunched the snow beneath them, making an audible squeak as the moisture vaccumed around his boots.

Stepping out into the cold was never any fun. He disliked cold, no. He hated the cold. It was unbearable. No amount of clothing warmed him, and no matter how hard he tried he knew that they were on this floor, and that at any moment they could-

A message.

He panicked for a moment. Surely it couldn't be them, wouldn't be them but he checked anyway. An audible groan was heard from the man as an @everyone message was placed.

But still he read it, and as he did it was looking to good to be true. He was about to ignore the obvious trap to lure stupid players, that was until he read the name. "Zandra." He spoke to himself. He knew that name, she was one of the original members of Velvet Room back when Lowenthal was alive. More recently she had been known to be buddy buddy with Lowe's killer, Ariel. This was all to good to be true. First Clarence and now Zandra? Two back to back rarities of Lowenthal information. And with no time to lose, he made his way to her.

Ryo made it there, only to see three people huddled around. A man who looked like he belonged in a movie about shonin, obviously not Zandra. A smaller red headed girl with pigtails. And another, woman? It was hard to tell from her armor, but her face gave it away. Swallowing the awkward fear Ryo marched up, keeping a hand loosely sat on his katana hilt to rest it and quickly grab it if need be.

"Ohayo." He said, greeting the players keeping a Keen eye on them and the surrounding area. "Heard something about, demonics being handed out. Came to see what that was about." He said once more trying to scan the area.

The message popped up, and quickly skimming over its contents, he knew it would be gone just as fast. Giving away weapons with Unique enhancements? Pinball wanted in on that. He sat in a lonely cave - well, it was more of a pathetic overhang - on the Fourth Floor at the moment, staring blankly at a dead fire. His gaze shifted to the sword in his lap: DawnBringer. A stolen weapon. Pinball was going to need a replacement - he had seen the wanted posters. His description was on all of them; the weapons he used, the outfit he was last seen wearing... it would be difficult to move around without rousing suspicion. And then he had an idea.

Maybe he had to be suspicious.

So with great haste Pinball threw together his outfit with the sole intention of making himself look as shady as possible. In a flash of light the shadowy Cloak of the Harbingers materialized, embracing his slim form. He pulled the hood up, and tugged it low over his face to where it'd conceal his features. After some more rummaging through his inventory, he pulled from his storage the fox mask he wore in the Valentine's Masquerade event. Nobody except his close friends (at the time at least) had realized his identity under it. He pulled that on, and readjusted his hood. He tucked his necklace under his shirt, which was concealed by the long, tattered cloak. Then, to tie it all together, instead of DawnBringer or Cold Fervor, he flipped the Emerald Razor into his palm, the green knife glinting in the sunlight. Only Dustin, the guy who made the weapon, knew about its existence. And in this masked, literal cloak and dagger outfit, Pinball looked the part of a shifty orange player. Is this really the best idea here?

He traveled quickly, and was where he needed to be in a couple of minutes. He had a bit of time to think. He had to act and speak differently - and he mentally prepared himself for that. If an orange player was up to no good, why would they be in a Safe Zone? They had no place there, he knew, and so he prepared a peculiar personality to match that peculiar behavior. There was then the morally questionable act of giving an Orange Player a weapon - but maybe he could bluff and lie about the crimes he had committed... and if worse came to worst, he could just teleport out of there. He took a deep breath, and started sneaking through the town.

He came upon the congregation about a minute after that. He spotted four people so far, and his heart dropped. He had expected to see Zandra - she was the one who had sent out the message - but he felt himself choke a bit when he saw Baldur. Ohh, boy. Here we go. He looked left and right, trying to see if any guards were around - but at the moment, he saw none. Pinball, his cloaked form drifting forward, approached the gathering of people with a false confidence. He imitated Mars as he did: confident, calm, and proud. He placed a hand on his chest, dipping his masked and hooded face slightly as way of greeting. And then he spoke, his voice ringing out clear and smooth, which was much more than could normally be attributed to Pinball's own. "Hello. I am Ares, an info-broker. I'm here to inquire about the weapons being doled out?"

An interesting day to say the least, Kairi had woke up in the midst of the aftermath of the floor boss and had a few plans already made. However afterward she had received a message from somebody, Kairi had read the message then closed it and without much of a second thought she had got her things and began to walk toward where the location was. After a brief walk and teleport to the fourth floor Kairi had looked around to who had arrived which was not that many to say the least with one person she had recognized. However she had arrived up to the two that had been holding this event and did a bow stating out "Hi, I don't believe we have quite met before. My name is Kairi I am here to take up on the offer you have been so generous to hold. I was wondering if there was still one that I could possibly get."

Hokori qas looking around on the first floor for more people to help out with their beginning quests when she happened to glance by an announcements board. It seemed that someone was handing out unique enhancements. Though she didn't know that much about what her options were, she knew that she would be wanting to snag what she could. Immediately turning towards the teleport gate, she prayed that there was still some there when she arrived.

Warming her hands as she walked into the shop, Hokori noticed that there was already quite the crowd forming. Hopefully they were saving some of the items for her. She couldn't really tell who was the one handing them out, and there seemed to be all range of players in here. There was multiple people who seemed geared up well enough to be fighting on the front lines. Meanwhile, there was also still those who were obviously not nearly ass high of a level. Her head was hung a little bit low, realizing she was. Probably the lowest level player in the shop right now. Everyone else was clearly more powerful than here. The opportunity cost of spending so long trying to find a shortcut was becoming more and more apparent now.

It had been quite some time since Emerath had spoken to Zandra. He remembered it way back when he had done the Breaking the Unbreakable quest to help her become a proper martial artist. But since that day, it had been a lot of radio silence. However, he had caught a post on one of the bulletin boards of unique items up for grabs, and recognizing the name and woman, had sent a message to get more details. Much to his delight, one he could use had turned up available, and he had been sent the coordinates to meet here. Emerath was always a bit wary, and thanks to an old friend, he often spent his time climbing trees and buildings to get a better view of just what he was getting himself into.

From a nearby rooftop, Emerath saw that there was a crowd at the location where he was told to meet. Plenty of people, none of which he seemed to recognize, not even Zandra. Time changed a lot of things, he supposed. Not wanting to take too many risks, Emerath opened his inventory, and equipped his Plague Doctor costume, before leaping off the building and walking up to the gathering from there. "Good evening, everyone," Emerath's voice rattled forth from his mask, "I've been invited to gather here for uniques. I'm Emerath, the Plague Doctor, and it is a pleasure to meet all of you, I'm sure."

With a light bow to the group, and the pleasantries out of the way, Emerath folded his arms across his chest, and waited for the next steps.

Zandra pressed the accept button and suddenly she had seven uncommon items in her inventory, all with an unique enchantment. Just as she thought, it didn’t took long for people to start showing up. The first one to arrive was a familiar face. Zandra smiled as he greeted Anise with a bow. ‘’Ive been good. I do agree, this is very generous of Anise. She is opening her shop again for everyone that needs supply to drop by.’’ Then she realized Baldur was a merchant as well. ‘’Oh, or not like you need it though.’’ She added with a smile. ‘’Lets wait for a few more to show up before we taking forth the items.’’

Next one to arrive was a male as well, though not familiar to Zandra. She still greeted him with a smile that disappeared when she herd what he said. ‘’Oh, then you must have red wrong. Anise only have uncommon items. Sorry to disappoint you. I don’t have any on me that is up sale at the moment at least. But maybe if you ask other frontliners, not sure if there is any lower leveled in possession of any demonics though.’’

Third to arrive was a masked and cloaked figure that introduced himself as being Ares, an information broker. The guy wasn’t only cloaked, he had an orange cursor above him which made Zandras eyes to get on alert. She glanced at Anise that had taken a step back. ‘’Hello Ares. Would you mind removing that mask of yours? Im pretty sure Anise wont give away her hard earned stuff to a cloaked orange player.’’

As she waited for him to show his face, a female arrived at the scene. The name that belonged to her seemed to be Kairi. Zandra greeted her with a smile as well. ‘’Yes, we have enough items for two more players to arrive. I will soon show what you have to pick from.’’

Next to arrive at the scene was another female. She just arrived without saying a word. If Zandra havent kept an eye out she would maybe have missed her arriving. ‘’Hello there. Are you here for the offering?’’

The last person to arrive was also masked. Zandra let out a small sigh before he got close enough to see it. Why would you mask yourself when coming to pick up an item with a unqiue enchantment? Here they are generous handing out rare items, but they dosent even show their faces. She greeted him with a smile though. ‘’Hi Emerath. You are lucky, the last item will be yours.’’

‘’So, now that everyone is here, these are the items we have to offer.’’ She said we because it was Anise that had identified them, but Zandra had gathered all materials and col required. After that, she showed the items and what enchaments that each of them had. ‘’Baldur, you have first pick, then in the order of how you arrived. Ares and Emerath, would like you two to show yourself first.’’

Baldur watched as a small crowd gathered, he and Zandra by far the highest leveled players there, perhaps more than all of them combined. He did not recognize any of them, either, which made Baldur smile. Younger players, still up and coming, and hungry for good gear so they could some day join the frontline as well. It did well for his heart that they were not alone, as it was sometimes easy to forget on the front.

Turning to the list of weapons in the trade window, Baldur quickly skimmed through the list, before finding something he had been wanting to pursue for a while now. Absolute Accuracy. As a katana, it would be a great weapon for him, but as an uncommon weapon, he would need to upgrade it some before it could be too useful.

"I will take Raijinto, if I may. And thank you again for the very generous offer you have here."

Baldur began to process the trade.

"Now I just need a couple essences of steel in order to raise the quality of this weapon up."

Well, he didn't really know what else he was supposed to suspect. But he had the bad feeling that guards were going to be all over him any second now - so he had to make this quick. He didn't belong here, in the safety of a Safe Zone; he had waved bye-bye to that a while ago. He shivered. He had a love-hate relationship with this floor. The cold was comforting, and Pinball found himself relaxed in it more often than not, but sometimes the winds were too harsh, and carried with them bad memories. Pinball stared at Zandra, and then Anise in turn, and nodded. "That's fair," he reasoned, still maintaining his facade.

His fingers flicked open his memory, and he navigated to the trade window as he looked over the equipment being offered. "Tyrfing," he said immediately. He needed a new weapon. DawnBringer, a stolen weapon, would be recognized by anyone who had known Dustin, and then he'd be identified himself as a result. Pinball sent the trade request to Zandra. "I hope this will suffice when it comes to my... identification," he said coolly, knowing full well that his username would appear in the trade windows. He brought a single finger up to his masked mouth, trying to catch her eyes, and then lowered it. He glanced back down the road anxiously, though luckily his mask hid his worry. "I'd appreciate it if we could make this brief, and if there's anything you require of me, perhaps we could continue the exchange somewhere... quieter?" Pinball grit his teeth. He wasn't sure if he liked acting like that... though he'd be lying if he said there wasn't a feeling of security that came with donning a mask and adopting a persona.

As the last to arrive, Emerath would get the last to pick, which was fine. Honestly, even if what he got was crummy, he'd probably just sell it off for Col anyway. But much to Emerath's delight, there would be only one item left. The Plague Doctor's Leather. It was almost as if it had been made for him, and perhaps fate had deigned it so. He looked at the enchant, mending, made for a healer. Emerath hadn't spent much time lately healing, but perhaps it was time to change that, after all.

But as Zandra had asked for Emerath to remove his mask, something stirred within him. A bit of anger, in fact. Nobody had ever made it a point to make Emerath remove his mask. He opened up a trade with Zandra as he stood in front of her and Anise, making sure that his back was to the remaining party members. With his hood still low over his head, Emerath unhooked and pulled off the mask, revealing his face and red hair to only the two in front of him. "There, I hope this will suffice. You need to understand, you asked me to come to a place with strangers, where there was a promise of something free that could have just as easily been a trap. It still could be, for all I know, for the only person I know here is you, Zandra. I would say it should have been enough for you to recognize my name, but I suppose you'll have forgotten me by now in all your glory. I can't say I blame you."

With all that said, Emerath replaced his mask and finished the trade with them for the item. "Now, with all due respect, you have asked me to remove a piece of my combat armor, so I'm going to leave the mask on, from this point forward," Emerath's voice rattled forth from the mask, "You have seen my face, and can verify who I am. I would ask that we politely leave it at that from here on out."

Baldur was the first one to speak up. Not to Zandra’s surprise, he picked the katana with absolute accuracy. ‘’To be honest, when you showed up I guessed it was that one you were after.’’ She said with a smile on her lips. ‘’Yeah, Im going to need two essences as well. I think I will pick this one.’’ She picked up dragons wrath and looked at it. ‘’I have been thinking of maybe going Warhammer build. It do have access to a lot of stuns. Well, that is a talk for another time.’’ She said and turned to Pinball as he spoke up. Zandra listened to him and saw his username popping up on the screen. She thougth for a few seconds why he is so so sneaky but then remembered. She had been dungeoneering with him pretty recently so she knew him a little. ‘’Of course. Here you go.’’ She said and handed him the weapon.

Zandra wrinkled her eyebrows as it seemed Emerath felt like being humiliated for Zandra asking him to remove his mask. He putted up a pretty harsh attitude, said stuff about traps and other things. Zandra raised an eyebrow and stated to talk to him. ‘’Emerath, one, neither me or Anise asked you to come. You volunteered all by yourself. And you know, just because I know who you are, dosent mean Anise do. And to be honest, to be so upset for being asked to show your face, I thought I knew you, but it seemed you have changed since back then.’’ She glanced at Anise. ‘’Also, beeing all sneaky is much how a player killer is. You may not have a orange cursor. But there is ways to get around that. Im not sure we are ready to hand an item to someone that acts like you just did.’’

Though nobody could see it, Emerath’s eyebrows raised in shock of what Zandra was saying. As a point, Emerath opened up his inventory, and one by one, began to unequip his costume, his coat, his dueling hand wraps, and his trinket, and stood there in nothing but a basic suit and tie, red hair flowing freely around his head now that it wasn’t trapped within his hood and mask.

”You want to accuse me of being a player killer? The same goes for you and your green cursor. I don’t care how powerful you are, and how high and mighty you think you are. You aren’t the same person I helped become a martial artist so long ago. You have this offer of help, but apparently I’ve forgotten that nothing in this life is free. God forbid I try to protect myself in a game where someone could just as soon kill me as well as look at me. But fine, you want to prove a point, then here. I’ll stand here as unequipped as the day I started this game. Prove to me how badass of a frontliner you are for being afraid of some little low level that came in hope of getting something that would help people. That would heal them. Did you even look at the item I wanted? I’m a first aid user. What kind of player killer invests points into first aid?” Emerath fumed, while holding his arms out, waiting for Zandra’s next move.

”Make your decision. Give me the item or don’t. If this is some stupid trap, then kill me now. Mask is off, armor is off. And don’t you ever dare call me a player killer again. I at least have the courage to look someone in the eyes if I were going to kill them. I’m no coward.”

Baldur smiled as he materialized the item they had traded him. The white sword and saya appeared in his hands.

"It's beautiful." Slowly he drew the katana, and a blade of pure white, gleaming with a golden mune running most of the was down the blade, except for the monouchi, where the blade would cut the best. There was a power in the blade he had not felt before, but he had never before held a blade with a unique enhancement before, nor one with latent, untapped potential. He had only ever used hand forged blades, and the cursed demonic he bore. Off to the side, keeping himself between the blade and anyone else, Baldur swung it once, listening to the sound as it whistled through the air.

"Thank you @Anise, it is beautiful and I shall treasure it. I look forward to unlocking its power."

It was then that Zandra's conversation with someone he didn't know, the plague doctor, caught his attention. He had paid them little mind, but they seemed to be causing a scene now.

"A darn foolish one." The elder samurai said in response to Emerath's question about what kind of a PKer invests in First Aid. He thought about getting further involved, but both of them seemed to have their hackles up for a reason Baldur couldn't understand. Zandra was in the right, asking for someone who came to get something powerful for free to remove their mask, but she let the other one, the one named Mars who was a PKer, get away without removing his. The plague doctor was good to have caution, but perhaps this was a bit much. Still, Zandra had a reputation for temper.

Baldur decided to stay out of it and let them figure themselves out, and he would just wait and see.

Before Ryo could adjust himself, more and more people had shown up. A cloaked PK'er, masquerading as an Info Broker. Another masked individual, who was polite enough to remove it. A white haired woman. And finally Kiari of all people. He was about to inquire within about the aforementioned goods, but then tensions rose. Ryo scoffed slightly and interjected. "Look, sorry to interrupt. But I don't care about some feud you two have, or who is more honorable than who. Like everyone else here," Ryo motioned past the now armorless player to Zandra.

"I'm just here for the handout. And then I'll be on my way." Talking to Zandra now would be pointless, especially since she's keen to starting fights and was significantly stronger than Ryo was now. A wrong word about Ariel or Jomei could trigger something in her to snap. Either way, best to tread carefully for now. "I'll take this one." Ryo said, selecting the item. Ryo took the item and stepped aside. "Alrighty. I'm just gonna, leave now." And began to slowly inched his way away.

Kairi had looked around at the many different weapons and stuff that Anise had, and she had thought for a moment which one she would want. However she had spaced out for a bit and forgot other people were here. Kairi had quickly glanced around at what had remained after the first few people picking and Kairi had simply pointed at the Two Handed Straight Sword with Phase and said out to her "I would like that one. It should be me very nicely. Just have to get its quality up..." she had admitted however with a cheerful smile she had then said "Please and thank you~" Karona stepping up smelling scents from items that had a way different scent to what he is familiar, Kairi had simply kept her hand on the top of her familiar and said out to him "None of this is for you, I know you probably smell things that are very tasty, but we as people need these, keep off them." Karona then grunted sadly but accepting that he couldn't feast.

Hokori watched as others talked and grabbed their own uniques. It seemed that she had made it in time, and was already looking at some herself. Waiting for most people to pick their own, she spotted one more that she wanted to possibly take. It was a light armor, which wasn't what she currently wore, but it seemed like it was much more fitting piece of gear than what she currently used. It would hopefully be something she could truly utilize in the future. Perhaps put together some form of atrrition build that she could use. Walking up towards the person handing them out. "I'll take that light armor." Her voice was a little shaky, being around so many intimidating figures. It was still her best chance at remaining professional and trying to assert herself within what appeared to be a tight-knit community that was the front lines. She didn't know if it would be enough, but hopefully she could count herself among that group eventually.

Zandra listened to what Emerath was saying, herd his words and thought about her own real quick. Her cheeks turned red and eyes widened a bit as she realised what she had said and how it would be taken. She looked the other way. ‘’Im sorry Emerath, I didn’t meant it like that.’’ She picked up the pleague doctors leather and handed it over as she looked back at him. ‘’But as you said, we finish this conversation later but I apologise.’’

She glanced at Baldur that completed the transaction with Anise and tried his new blade and putted in a comment. Then he threw in a comment into their discussion. ‘’Yeah, that’s true.’’ Then Ryo putted in a word as well. Making her cheeks redder. She took a step back. ‘’I’m sorry everyone. I didn’t meant to.’’ She realise that she should have contacted players one and one and given it personally. The nearest to this she had experienced before was when she had handed out free potions in town of beginning. But back then it wasn’t anything really valuable so she didn’t cared if others picked more or less, showed themselves or not. She had totally screwed this up. She hoped that this would increase her reputation, but she f***ed it up. It seemed though that everyone had their items now.Only one player left. ‘’Sorry for the interruption.’’ She said to her. ‘’Of course, here you go.’’ She said and handed her the light armor.

Then she turned to the group. ‘’that’s all I guess. Have a good day everyone. Im off to get an essence of steel for my new unique. If anyone wanna tag along for the extra xp you are free to do that. If not, hope the unique enchantments will server you well.’’ She turned to Anise. ‘’Im off now, I will come back to your cave as soon as the quest is over.’’

When nothing came, when no blade struck the man down, and everyone else just seemed to awkwardly shuffle around Emerath's little display, he lowered his arms and sighed. Then Zandra apologized, and Emerath realized that he really had lost his head, and he felt a bit terrible for the scene he caused. Emerath supposed he had been a bit too wary, but the samurai and Zandra herself in particular had seemed really menacing. Not to mention the orange masked player. And sure, Emerath knew Zandra, but he had known her as a level 15 up and coming martial artist, and now here she was, an incredibly powerful Frontliner. And she had made such a big deal about Emerath and his mask.

Emerath's face was filled with remorse as he slowly opened his inventory and equipped his coat, trinket, and handwraps once again, returning to his normal travelling attire and gear. He didn't put the plague doctor costume back on. No real point in it now. Thankfully, the samurai seemed nice enough, Zandra had relented, and the orange player didn't seem to wish to cause any actual damage. And the others, while notable, had caused no fuss. Just Emerath, in the end. Most likely the weakest player here, and the loudest. His face turned a bit red, and for a moment that was the only reason he might have wanted his mask back.

But he shook it off, and he managed the best smile he could for Zandra. "Yeah, we'll... we'll discuss it later. I'm sorry I let myself get so out of hand. Nobody has ever asked me to take the mask off before. I didn't want to assume it was a trap... but this game is dangerous. I hope you can understand that much at least." He accepted the unique presented to him from Zandra, and nodded, before placing it in his inventory. "I'll help you with the quest. I've never done this one, to be honest," he explained, as he considered how best to balance the unique with the rest of his gear, but he'd decide that as combat started.

He would follow behind Zandra, somewhat closely. He didn't really want to look at anyone else out of a bit of embarrassment, but he wouldn't ignore them either if they approached him. "And hey," Emerath mentioned as they would walk, "sorry I called you a player killer too. If it's not fair for you to call me one, it's not fair to have thrown it back at you."
