[F4-PP] Consequences <Itzal, Pinball, Hestia>

Recommended Posts

Itzal stood on the other side of the room leaning against the wall.  He was looking down at @Pinball, who was currently chained up.  Itzal's sword keeping the chains, and by extension him from going anywhere.  Itzal said nothing for a while.  He simply rested there watching him through the shadowy mist that covered his face.  His real face being expressionless as he thought about the entire situation.  Pinball had committed murder.  Mercilessly from what he had heard.  Even assaulted another player.  And yet his face was showing grief, shame, guilt, pain.  So the question was.  Which was the more dominant?  His guilt and love for his friends?  Or whatever murderous intent had started this whole affair?  He could never return to the life he knew obviously, but there was a chance...  A chance he could somehow save the man.  He didn't know how to start it off however, and thus remained silent.  Keeping guard until Hestia returned.  He was really hoping he'd win the raffle too.  He needed good gear if he was going to be taking on player killers from now on.  The main issue however...  Was where the hell they'd keep them?  Itzal had completely mapped out floors one through ten..  Perhaps he could collect teleport crystals and test out every zone he could.  Starting with any and all places of interest.  If he found one he'd send Hestia a message telling her where to set up the prison.  After that, he could hunt down player killers and send them to prison.

Pinball's tears had long since dried up, and gone with them were his feelings - but not specifically his feelings of defeat or anger or sadness. All of them.
Pinball felt horribly empty
And that, for once, was a welcome change. He had spent far too long crying over things he couldn't change. This made things... a lot easier.
Pinball lifted his head to stare straight ahead at the man with the mask. His sword was laid across his lap, and his face was bathed and obscured with shadow. It almost looked like Zomekko's fog, when she joined his weapon in a burst of black flame, but he doubted that it did damage like she did. She was still in her jar, hanging from his waist, but he wouldn't be calling her out for a fight. He wasn't going to resist anymore.
But, before he did anything... Pinball tested the chains. He flexed his arms and pulled, trying to test just how much freedom of movement he would have. Unsurprised but not particularly caring about the resistance he was met with, Pinball let himself fall limp again, and he hung from the wall, silent.

Itzal watched as Pinball struggled against the chains out of nowhere.  "Even if you somehow escaped your bonds, I'd shatter any teleport crystal you had before you could breath a syllable.  You'd never get past me either.  Accept the result of your actions."  His emotions had seemed to vanished.  It was quite possible he was just too tired to do anything in the current moment.  That's what he'd been hoping when the player had suddenly pushed against his bonds.  He wondered, and feared, if the player was just faking it all....  No, it was real.  Then what on earth happened?  What was going on in his head?  At the same time, it was clear the player knew what he had done was wrong.  He showed so much guilt and shame over it.  Now however, he was faced with a choice.  He could either choose to seek redemption, and work out the issues he had.  Or he could choose to give into the dark thoughts in his head and leave morality and humanity behind.  It was his choice, but Itzal hoped he planned on making the right one.  "If you did attempt to escape, it would only permanently mark you as an enemy.  More than likely Hestia will give you a chance to find redemption, so I suggest you take it."

Shattering a TP Crystal? He'd never seen anybody do that before, and for a second he wondered if it was even possible. If he got out of here somehow, he would need to experiment and find out. But first things first, right? The man was impossible to read because of that damn cloak. He didn't even know who he was glaring at. Would he even care if he did? Pinball couldn't be sure. One thing was for certain, though. Pinball didn't buy all that redemption crap. He nearly scoffed as the guy started talking about Hestia. Fat chance. Pinball didn't even want a chance.
He was beyond redemption, anyway.
Permanently mark him as an enemy? An enemy to who? Some guy in an edgy hood and a tank he could just walk around to get away from?
If he was going to be here, it should at least be fun. Who cares what happened anymore? He deserved worse than this. So let's make it a bit worse. He had always been good at that; making things harder than they had to be. He thought for a moment back to the grey-haired girl in front of him, sobbing. Because of him.
Pinball was still silent, but he let his head roll around his shoulders to look at the guy. He smiled an empty, toothy grin, and showed him exactly what he thought about that with one of his fingers.

With a small sigh i would make my way into the area to see a rather weird sight as i would look towards the cloaked man and just roll my eyes at him before making my way towards pinball with my hands within my pockets of my winter jacket that i am still wearing. Seriously i get that we need a way to restrain people, but i don't feel like being Domarus about all of this. It just feels...wrong. I mutter softly to myself as my eyes darken ever so slightly at the thought of becoming anything like the man that i had spent time trying to take down and do so because of what he had done. As i would look towards Pinball i would just look at him for a good solid minute as i would slowly let my eyes go up and down the player's form to try and get a sense of what his particular posture and general look to get a feel for how he feels. Along with that to see what Pin is wearing as i would do that my familiar would make his way over towards the cloaked man and try to get a scent to figure out who it is or at least memorize the scent for later. So than...i'll say this now and right up to you. I don't want to do this, i hate that he tied you up in the first place like this and i wish i didn't have to painfully agree that it is necessary to try and stop you from just teleporting out. I can't believe that he even did this when there was just a simple thing i wanted from putting up those d**n wanted posters for you. Can you just talk to me Pin i just want to know why you killed someone. I just want to figure out if it was for a just reason or not. If there was some kind of justice in what you did or if you just did it for cold-blooded insanity driven reasons. Can you please just talk to me about that? I ask in a soft and almost pleading tone allowing myself to look vulnerable and show the normal human that i am. Not the invulnerable tank of the frontlines, but the scared teenage girl that is hoping her friend is innocent. I would look towards the spear user as i would cross my arms at my chest and let out a very low pitched whistle as Kuro gets in a defensive stance between myself, pinball, and the cloaked figure. Not going to allow this stranger to dictate how i do things since this is my system to forge however i want and do what i think is right. To forge a police system from the ground up in a world of semi-magic.

He had just finished flipping off shadow dude when Hestia walked in.
Domarus? That was a name he hadn't heard in a while... what did she mean by that? Did Domarus do stuff like this? He felt his fists reflexively flex in their shackles, though the chains, again, didn't budge. He couldn't imagine the quieter armored man pulling crap like these two, but still, that probably made him a person Pinball would have to avoid all the same.

Justice? In killing? Pinball felt his head throb. He was disgusted even by the notion of there being justice in something as revolting as that. In that moment, he forgot everything that Mars and Emerath had told him. No, there was no excuse. It was out of cold blood. There was no excuse. There never was for taking another person's life. He lifted his head, his blank expression either revealing nothing or speaking volumes.
"No, there was no justice in it," Pinball told her flatly, his voice low and emotionless. And for once, his cold blue eyes bore into Hestia's own, unwavering.
"And I'd do it again. In a heartbeat.

Itzal made a mental sigh as Pinball said what he did.  He made no sound aloud of course, but he was silently hoping he could be saved.  It seems life wasn't going to be treating him so well.  He may as well get used to this...  He gestured to the player killer.  "That's why we resort to these measures, chief.  You decided you were going to start a police force.  Restraints are necessary to keep him from teleporting away."  He would wait for a response from one of them.  He stayed silent for the moment as there was no need for him to intervene.  The only reason he'd do so was if she decided to release him.  Though Itzal doubted she would after hearing that.  As for Domarus...  Pinball didn't understand but he did.  Hestia told him at one point.  Domarus had managed to capture one of the most dangerous players in Aincrad.  A nine year old boy around level seventy who was made into a psychotic yet master assassin.  After his master was killed he went serial killer.  Domarus managed to trap him in a carved area in the mountain and blocked it with a boulder.  Chaining the small boy up without any hesitation or mercy.  Ensuring that he couldn't escape.  Unfortunately, Hidden had released that danger.  And Hestia, paranoid she may cause more trouble than it's worth, decided not to tell Aincrad about this powerful and twisted child.  That was a mistake and she was going to pay for it soon enough.  He wished he could get through to her, but he doubted she'd be willing to listen to anyone at this point.  She was just too stubborn.

I can feel my body go cold for a moment as if a bucket of water had just washed over my head as i hear those words from Pinball. My right hand tenses as i try to prevent it from turning into a fist but can't help it as i feel my hand do so as i gaze down towards the black haired player having many things i wish i could say and do to him for saying that. 'But..i have responsibility now. Follow through with it.'  I force myself to slowly relax as my body untenses up as i gaze towards Pinball once more. Pin. When you say you would do so again. Do you mean to that person, or just anybody in general. I ask the player with blue colored eyes that have lost the kindness towards the individual i am speaking with. Replaced with cold, and serious look upon the female's face as the right hand scrolls through the menu and starts to equip the battle gear of heavy armor and even sword. Safety is everything. Hey hiding man let me ask you a question. Where would Player Killers go if they were to be caught by the guards? If we can figure that out we can most likely find a suitable place to hold them.  I say aloud as i keep my gaze solely focus on the former spear user as i am ready to intercept or knock out any TP crystals that could come out or be used.

Pinball looked to shadow boy first, and then back to Hestia. "Pin. When you say you would do so again. Do you mean to that person, or just anybody in general."
He didn't answer. He let his gaze fall from Hestia to the ground. That's that, then. He was going to be taken away now. Good. Finally. Now he wouldn't be able to hurt anybody, right?
Rotting in some dingy dungeon - not quite death, but close enough to the point where he didn't really care at the moment. Chained up to a wall, sitting on cold, hard stone for god knows how long. He felt his heart start to beat a little faster in his chest. Was that really going to be his future? Was he really going to have to live like that?
Yes. And, again, kid, you deserve it.~
Pinball's fists flexed in their shackles. Cold. He was so cold.
Ah, but there was something warm in that sweet chill.

Itzal continued to be silent, though he noticed that she chose to ask Pinball the very specific details.  But this only made Itzal's heart more heavy.  The look in the boy's eyes...  It would take far more than that to bring Pinball back.  Itzal doubted that either of them, Hestia or himself, were equipped to handle such a psychological discussion and restoration.  It was just wishful thinking at that point.  However, there was a difference between wishful thinking and hope.  Itzal did hope that one day Pinball would be able to acknowledge he did wrong, feel the guilt from doing so, and choose to work towards becoming better.  Even if it was on his death bed.  For now he needed to focus on the safety of everyone in Aincrad.  There was a limited amount of people in this world, and they needed as much strength to get out.  Then Hestia spoke to him, asking him a question.  He turned to her, looking through the shadow of his hood.  "From what I can tell they just toss players out of the settlements.  However, I heard rumors of areas outside of dungeons that nullify teleport crystals.  I was planning to start searching every floor tomorrow, testing each of them.  Even stocked up on crystals to prepare for it.  It helps too that I've mapped out nearly every section of every floor."  He turned and nodded to Pinball, gesturing to the chains and binds.  "You may hate this action, but if you can keep him locked up, guarded and hidden from everyone else for a night and day, I'll give you an answer by tomorrow evening at latest."  He turned to look at her again.  "However I'd suggest moving him to a more secure location, and enlisting the help of some of the frontliners.  If the event proved anything, it's that there are some player killers who would love to recruit him.  I refuse to give them that option.  If you absolutely refuse to keep him like this for long then I'll just search through the night to quicken the pace."  He's lose a lot of sleep doing so, but it was better than a cold blooded murderer running lose on the streets.

I look towards the silent form of the assault spear user in front of me as i feel a urge to try and do something physical against him to try and make him speak to try and get him to just talk to someone that is wanting to hope he isn't as bad as he is making himself out to be. However, the more calm and professional side wins out realizing that doing anything physical or any actions similar would just make it look bad on my group's reputation as a police chief and warden if i would dare do something like that. 'i'm better than the outside world.' Looking towards the spear user i make him have eye contact with my by gripping his chin and forcing him to look me in the eyes wanting to see the eyes of the man i would want to call a friend a few months earlier. Pinball. Please answer my questions. You are only digging yourself a deeper grave the more you remain silent and stubborn about this. You know me Pinball i'm not some cruel person that wants to see the world burn. I am just a friend that is worried about the path that you are going down, and i need to know just how far down you have walked this path. I say in a gentle tone of voice towards him as i do my best to keep a rather strong grip to make sure he can't try and look away from me. Wanting the spear user to face what he has done to at least some extent. Listen...Shadow or whatever you want to call yourself. Find me a place where people can't TP out of. And you'll do all of Aincrad a great favor of keeping the peace. Also don't worry about Pinball not being held under a watch. I'll handle things alongside a few others who have joined my police force.

And Pinball was steadfast in his silence. He regarded the masked man and then Hestia with the same cold, dull stare, listening to their words but saying nothing himself. The guy was right; the guards normally just tossed them out of settlements. When they tried to resist an escort is when they got particularly hostile. Still, they weren't all that difficult to sneak around if you were careful. In turn, Hestia asked the man to find a place people couldn't TP out of. Like a dungeon? He knew there were trap rooms that nullified crystals, but they were filled with mimics and other monsters. Wouldn't they respawn? He wasn't really sure there was safe place that imposed that same effect on players.
He resisted the urge to shake his head, and instead let his gaze fall to the floor. It didn't really matter. He wasn't in the mood to try and escape - he had never been one to try and shirk the blame of his own actions. Again he was reminded that he deserved far, far worse.

((sorry about the wait, wasn't in a good place and then school finally caught up to me. will post more often now, promise))

(Sorry for the tardiness, life hit me hard  ^^; )

Itzal was silent as she asked Pinball to answer the question.  He shook his head.  "Give it up.  You can lead a horse to water but you cannot force them to drink.  He has made up his mind Hestia.  The best thing to do now is imprison him as quickly as possible.  And hinge on the hope that after some time and meditation, the boy will reach a point where he is willing to speak."  He listened to Hestia as she spoke directly to him once more.  He nodded in acknowledgement as he sheathed his blade.  "Very well.  I will leave my sword where it is so as to reduce the chances of him escaping, and will retrieve it once I've returned.  Make sure to call for backup in case he attempts to flee at a random moment.  This is the first player killer Aincrad has officially arrested up to this point.  If you can show that you and your force can successfully keep prisoners in check, then that will boost the morale among the crowd."  He paused for a moment, thinking.  "I have a question for you:  How will you prevent players from the outside starting a jailbreak if the area turns out to be a safe zone?"  After receiving his answer he would nod and begin walking out of the area.  "And call me whatever you feel like.  I've never been creative with names."

Closing my eyes i let out a soft sigh of disappointment at this as i glance towards the side hating that i am going to be forced to make my first big play as a police officer and it had to be against the criminal that i wanted to try and not view as such. The person i had fought alongside with, defended at least mentally for his actions against Hidden in the twenty third floor boss, and was willing to call a decent friend. Now being forced to arrest that person, brand him as a criminal and a danger to everyone around him, and proceed to try and keep him jailed for a extended period of time till he can at least change his ways hopefully. Taking a deep breathe in before letting out a soft sigh once more as i would open my eyes as a cold detached look appear in my normally cheerful and hopeful blue colored eyes as i stand right in front of Pinball and make him look me in the eyes. As the Warden of Aincrad's prison, and the leader of the Aincrad Police force i sentence you Pinball former Scorpion fighter of the Guardian's of the New Dawn to prison under the watchful eye of myself and fellow officers.  You have been seen as guilty. Don't try to escape it'll only make things worse for you. I say in a cold manner towards him that holds no room for affection, or kindness with my words as i take a step back and makes my way towards the agent who captured the DPS spear user. if you try to run Pinball. Lethal force will be allowed in your capture. I say to him as a warning before focusing my gaze back onto the agent and as soon as my eyes are on him the cold harsh look of a uncaring judge change like a snap of a finger. Going from cold and uncaring to saddened, but still holding onto a slight bit of seriousness which to anyone would be obvious as a way to prevent herself from breaking ever so slightly on the spot to do that to Pinball. While players may attempt a jailbreak as long as we keep him in these close quarters it will be hard to hide from us and even more difficult to break him out without being seen. Along with this myself as a frontliner as a mere presence will scare away most of the lower weaker crowd who would try to get by me through the threat of being stronger than what they could dish out against me. Furthermore, i have my fellow officers are going to be watching him at all times. The names of said officers won't be disclosed within this public space. i say gesturing towards Pinball. Now than Shadow if we don't have much to discuss any further. I do believe i have requested and you accepted helping me out in finding a place for his continued imprisonment. i say calmly towards the individual in front of me as i glance off towards the side. Also, if the prison is in a safe zone i would like to see PKers try to bust him out they should get captured by the guards soon after, and if not no visitors for prisoners unless said visitors are willing to have a guard come with them during said visits.

Shadow? Like the hedgehog? Pinball snorted, the first and likely the last sound he'd make during his imprisonment. An edgy name for an edgy assailant. Edgy Dude largely ignored his presence altogether at this point, which was well and good. Hestia's mood shifted quickly and dramatically. If he hadn't been the one who had provoked the change in her, he might have been surprised. Again he felt himself flexing against the chains. They would hold, and Pinball wasn't sure what he kept expecting to happen. He gave it up again, but he knew he would keep pushing against it. Over and over.

Lethal force? I'd like to see them try. In his cocky, apathetic state, he couldn't think of anyone save for the frontliners themselves that could stop him. He could blow through the likes of Dustin and Stryder easily. He envisioned a world where they were all gone - and the only way he saw that happening was one where everyone was dead. Was that what it was going to take? He tasted bile in the back of his throat.

Disgusting. He lowered his head, glaring at the two figures in front of him. That was what he hated about people. People who made light of their crimes, and those who viewed themselves as the main characters of the world. Their delusional self-importance. He just wanted to be left alone. Alone, alone, alone, alone. He felt his fingers curl up tightly as they turned away from them. What was it going to take? What was it going to take to get them to leave him alone? But Pinball knew. He had already determined exactly what it was.

Finn resisted the urge to try and break free in earnest this time, and instead focused on his breathing.
