[F21-PP] Faster than the strongest <<Hidden Village>>

Recommended Posts

A grin appears on his face as he nods towards the spear user that is his rival rather happy with himself that Pinball is willing to go along with this, or at the very least open to see how likely it would be for the duo to try and strike at this boss and finding out when it will occur. That was the plan Pinball they won't know that i am bringing you along until it is far too late, and i'll make sure that our entrance is well enough timed to prevent anyone from being too worried about a orange player around. He says in a calm tone of voice towards his rival having a look of confidence on his face and speaks in a actually kind tone of voice. As if he is trying to keep in mind how his rival could end up feeling and what he would be having to do if players turned towards the duo. Though for now lets take on as many quests as we can. I'm ready for whatever this quest could try to throw at us next. He says with a smirk seemingly rather pumped up for finishing this quest.

3/3 combat posts.

"Yeah," he agreed dumbly, incapable of any sort of intense, prolongued thought, "sounds like a plan." He held his spear behind his back and across his shoulders with both hands; it was like that one scene from Mulan with the buckets and stuff. Pinball snorted quietly to himself, and then let the walk fall back into a period of silence. It wasn't long before the path opened up. The walls stretched out and widely around a huge portion of cut out cave. There was still only a single path, but from here on out it was more like a bridge that connected the tunnel to the settlement in the distance. Looking down, the floor fell into inky darkness, but the points of jagged rock could be made out if one stared hard enough. The bridge to the town was wide enough for four people to stand side-by-side on, but there was no sort of guard rail. And blocking the duo's path, staring straight ahead at them, were two of the bats like the ones they had fought earlier. Pinball tossed his spear into his hand and glanced at Mars. "Should we AoE this time, or stick with what we were doing?" He gestured a hand at the shrieking creatures that were now charging at them. "After you, m'love.

Looking towards the duo of bats he gets into a battle ready position getting low towards the ground with the blade at his side as his hand grips the handle of the blade. One for each of us it should be faster that way. Neither of us have much specialty for AoEs as our strongest method of attack. He says towards his rival before sprinting forward to meet his bat head on with a confident grin across his face. When getting within range of the beast he unleashed a quick series of slashes along its entire body with the swings of his katana as he follows through with the combat of system guiding him through the motions. The health of the bat dropping just as fast as the last one did as he nods his head at that. With sword in hand he prepares for the fight as the screeching winged rodent flies off once more and seemingly does a roundabout in the air to try and strike at him once more.

Pinball heard Mars loud and clear, but the monsters they were fighting seemed a bit smarter than the other ones. Kind of. Pinball's Bat didn't attack him from the air like Mars'; his attacked from land. The Bat got low on all fours, its claws digging into the stone and dirt. It hissed, bright red eyes flaring in the gloom, and then it charged, rushing forward at Pinball with an enraged, murderous intent. Pinball sidestepped, claws raking empty air where he once stood. As it passed, he unleashed Dimension Stampede against its exposed form - but this time, unlike his previous fight, he didn't freeze the monster. It was a bit disappointing, and his initial attack didn't deal the same massive damage he had done in the last match with the bats. With his buffs, Pinball figured Mars would finish fighting first. He glanced over to his companion to see how he was holding up, but wouldn't let his gaze linger too long.

Looking towards the bat he quickly dodges its attack with practiced ease before quickly using his katana to cut into the bat as swiftly as he humanly can with the blade as the bat slowly loses more and more health till it is just hanging around the yellow zone as he than gazes towards Pinball with a small smirk as he backs away. Quickly gazing back towards his enemy with a rather strong sense of vigor and renewed energy in thsi attempt to go against it and simultaneously also garner the ability to face the frontlines. This quest that was meant to be some kind of milestone possibly? Just being another easy quest for a tier two squad of himself and Pin tackling it down into nothing, and soon enough all the while being able to tackle the forntlines just as easily as this seemingly. The liger at Mars' side having let out a stream of flames that scorches the bats skin to aid in damaging the beast.

There was a brief pause in-between ferocious exchanges as the Bats, snarling and frothing at the mouths, took a moment to analyze their pray. They were only two, and their armor was light (or kind of nonexistant, really). And yet, they were having so much trouble taking down these particular humans. Where did their hidden strength come from? What did they hope to find down the path this path they were traveling? What was the point-

Pinball rushed forward, using his spear as a pole-vault. The tired, scruffy looking teen soared through the air with a mischievious grin splayed across his face. He brought his spear up, giving the weapon a quick overhead twirl, and then spun once, flipping around to face the Bat on land. Pinball erupted in a flurry of spear strikes too quick for the eye to truly follow. With each hit the Bat reeled back, dark red gashes coating its torso as it was forced further and further back down the path... and Pinball landed flat on his back. With a snort, he hopped to his feet, placing a hand on his knee and grinning at the monster.

The Bat hissed.

Looking towards his own bat as the sounds of a pained hiss echoes for a brief moment within the chambers for what he can only assumes is the spear using Pinball landing a hit against his adversary. Mars with a smirk quickly dodges to the side of an attack from the bat side stepping the creature as it made for a swing at his form. His katana cutting through the air and than shortly after the bat itself as multiple red gashes forms on its body with each successful strike of his blade as he just nods to himself figuring it'll only take two more hits possibly to end this fight, or maybe even one hit if he can get lucky enough with such a thing. You managing to keep up Pinball? Or am i going to be the one to kill his bat first once more? He asks in a joking tone of voice towards the spear user as he gazes towards his bat once more preparing for the attack that'll come.

There were the beginnings of a shorter, secondary pause, but Pinball didn't let that happen. As soon as he sensed that glimpse of hesitation in the monster's movement, Pinball struck. He swung himself forward, his body spinning in midair, using that momentum and bringing the spear down across the monster's face with him. Pinball fell into a crouch, staring straight at the side of the mob's face... the mob's frozen face. Another small grin tugged at the corners of the teen's lips as he poked the creature, basking in the delight of a successful Freeze proc. He glanced over at Mars' side of the tunnel to see how he was going. Probably quicker than him. There was something tiring about this, wasn't there? Or was he just tired - period? Pinball pushed against his knees and lifted himself to his feet. The scruffy looking boy took a step back and analyzed the creature's health bar. One... two more hits?

Looking towards the bat in question as i try to take a swing at the creature only to see my attack just go as wide as possible and miss the flying rodent by a mile as the creature had for once decided to forego an attempt at an attack and just fly over his weapon. He looks towards the stupid flying rodent with nothing but anger and frustration as his grip tightens around the weapon in his hand as his knuckles turn white from how much pressure he is applying towards the weapon. Well than..a first for this stupid flying rodent. it actually dodged one of my attacks. he says through gritted teeth as if saying just those simple words were the equivalent of swallowing acid or something of that nature from how much it seems like it is physically paining the black light armored player to say that.

Work it. Make it. Do it. Make us. Harder, better, faster, stronger.

Wow! That's the first time one of these bats had actually managed to slip away from Mars' katana! Pinball's tired eyes traced over the empty air the blade had cut through. He watched the Bat hiss and go for its own attack- only to miss. Mars' Sword Art fizzled away, and with it, the colorful glow the blade had been enveloped in. That kind of sucks. Pinball thought it looked way prettier when the Art was activated. Maybe one day he'd find some way to make Zomekko change colors. Lost in these thoughts, he almost didn't notice that the Bat he was assigned to was nearly thawed out.

"Oh!" A lazy exclamation from an exhausted teenager. Pinball stretched, standing on his tippy toes for a moment before hopping in place the next. "Loose and limber, loose and limber," he chanted, bringing his spear down on the temporarily immobile monster. That was gonna hurt. It looks like it's on its last legs.

Not willing to take the title of being the one to miss twice in a row he quickly activates his sword art once more as a crimson glow surrounds the blade as he moves towards the bat as the creature comes screeching down towards him. Side stepping the attack that was swung to try and carve his face his blade strikes out like a panther waiting for prey. The blade leaves deep red gashes along the bats digital form as crimson sweeping light trails follows the blade with every swing of the blade within the air. When he is finished he looks towards the bat and than looks towards Pinball's and just nods his head since it seems this time that he will lose his own self imposed challenge of trying to kill his bat first every single time before his rival could do so. Glancing back towards the bat he sees the creature be set aflame by his familiar as the bat remains standing even than.

With the Bat on its last legs - or wings, or whatever - it would be easy to mop the two up. He thought for a second. If he Charged the first monster that Mars was fighting with an AoE, he'd sweep them both in one turn, saving them a bit of a hassle. Either way, he would kill his bat. But~! If he killed Mars' monster, then that meant...

Pinball was the winner!

Putting on a little burst of speed, Pinball leapt sideways through the air in front of Mars, his spear tearing a wicked gash across his Bat's chest. With an ear-splitting shriek, it burst into a cloud of data shards. The monster Pinball had abandoned saw its opening and leapt forward, claws held out wide to either side with the threat of a deadly embrace. Pinball kicked his Charge skill into action, rocketing forward with a single footstep, impaling the creature through the neck with Cold Fervor.

"And the crowd goes wild!" He half-whispered/half-shouted with an exaggerated enthusiasm. He lifted his arms in the air, half-assing some jazz hands before slouching and going to boop Mars' nose. "Gotta be quicker than that," Pinball smiled, taking his finger back, his eyes heavy with the daunting task of staying awake. Despite his best efforts, Pinball couldn't stifle a yawn. He flicked his arm out in front of him, pointing down the path. "Off we go..." And the teenager took off, obnoxiously slowly, towards the Hidden Village.

He just watches his rival shoot forward and take out both of the bats as he just turns his head towards the spear user with a mix of frustration, anger, and genuine surprise alongside being proud of him. A chuckle escapes his lips as he follows spear user that looks like he could just pass out on the spot at any moment if given any time by himself to just be in silence and be by himself. Well than nice job stealing my kill after i did all the work there Pinball. He says his tone having no hostility in it. Amusement being the predominant emotion that is portrayed with every word he says.  After getting past these bats he sees the form of some kind of town be it abandoned or not within the distance as he looks at that with a bit of confusion at that. Another settlement? If there is one all the way out here than why has nobody bothered even talking about this place. he mutters to himself at the sight of the silhouetted buildings within the distance.

  • 2 weeks later...

After fighting the bats, they rescued some type of girl. Pinball had always thought they were meant to just go in, but after that the villager lead them there. Going up and into the village, the reckless pair of DPS would be faced with a choice. And, to Pinball's adamant insistence, the two would decide to keep the location of the Hidden Village a secret. They were recognized as heroes to these people for keeping their town safe, and as a reward, Pinball received a cloak made out of dragon skin. Pinball would take this coat and finally replace the worn out, leather armor he had worn since the beginning of the game. It marked an end to the old him. And whether that was a good thing or a bad thing remained to be seen.

Pinball would, at first, be incredibly cheerful about his new "armor", but would quickly tire himself out. They'd talk for a little bit about the upcoming boss raid and their plans to join it. Pinball was nervous, but the temptation that was the LA Bonus proved to be too much for him. Mars' confidence was rubbing off on him. And, in his tired state, Pinball agreed.

But for now, he found a place to sleep. He wasn't in the mood for any more fighting.

~SUMMARY~

Pinball receives:

  • (T3 Light Armor) <Dragon's Skin> : [+3 Evasion]
  • 2 SP
  • 5,400 Col

Mars receives:

  • 2 SP
  • 5,400 Col
