Itzal walked along the fifth floor with Velnia.  Or more accurately, he was stalking his way around.  It was a difficult floor to use the stealth skill in, but it was possible nonetheless.  There were massive stones that littered the floor, and if you did it just right you could hide behind dunes as well. While most players didn't know if someone was approaching, Itzal could very easily determine it with his detect and reveal mods.  Normally he'd have to get rid of most of his mods if he wanted to go fight someone or something, but with the new skill that increases how many mods one has it's become viable.  In addition the new change that allows players to hide their username in parties so long as the untraceable mod is active was an incredible help to him.  Itzal would be using that for the floor boss.  For now however...  He was shadowing a small group of player killers who were currently chasing down a rumor he purposefully told.  The rumor was that a group of players were training on a daily basis in a section of the floor.  This rumor was true of course, but Itzal left the group of players a message to teleport out the second they reached their training spot today, whilst leaving a recording crystal of their training.  Itzal was going to take down the player killers who took the bait.  Other than Pinball, they would be his first catch as Are.  He'd been training in his slime farm while waiting for movement, so his skills remained sharp.  Wearing his new outfit, his new sword, and Beauty Incarnated underneath his glove, he advanced.

Mina was walking around in the large sandy depths of the desert on floor five, her hood and Muffler pulled up over her face, obscuring all but her eyes and part of her hair. It was the temptation of the fight that the sand shark would bring that lured her here, otherwise she would have steered clear of this place. She had heard that you had to travel quite a ways into the field, making it a long and arduous journey for one to make on their own. Thankfully, mina was far from weak at this point, and could deal with this monster so long as she had her guard up. She had on her armor on underneath her new cloak, one that she was gifted by Shark, the holy swordsman. It was a guild uniform, though the first chance she had gotten, she acquired an item that allowed her to dye the white to a deep midnight blue. White didn't suit her in the slightest, it was too pure of a color...

Mina felt as though she might have been being watched by someone or something, but she simply chalked it up to the <<Sand Shark>> watching her from beneath the ground.

The black cloaked figure stalked his way through the dunes as cautiously as he could.  While he did so he continuously looked for signs of the party's movements, but they had done well in keeping their tracks hidden...  For now.  Itzal didn't know the player killers names.  If he did he could just use the tracking skill to hunt them down, assuming the player didn't have the untraceable mod active at all times like Itzal.  He had noticed that most players did not use the mod, though then again.  Most players didn't have the searching skill, let alone the tracking mod.  He tried to 'become one' with the landscape, but in the process he slipped up and.  Well slipped on the sand, causing a sand slide.  When he reached the bottom he rolled back behind cover and continued his advance.  As he slid however, he noticed a player traveling the sands as well.  He'd best avoid her for the meantime, as his primary objective was over near the Sand Shark territory.  He was almost there...  Still, something felt familiar about the girl...

Mina jolted in surprise when she saw a player trying to sneak through the sands, obviously trying to stay hidden from view... before she watched him slip, and tumble out of sight. She let out a tired sigh, shaking her head in disappointment. He seemed oddly familiar to her somehow, especially the little dragon following him around. It reminded her a bit of... Akame, but she knew that since that damned bee killed her precious friend. It wasn't something she wanted to think of at the moment, though. She actually really hated that she had been so weak that she couldn't defeat the large wasp that had shown up shortly thereafter. she shook her head, before moving on forward to the quest area, putting on her mask as she moved forward, not wanting someone to recognize her, even though she was just a weak T1 player. Even if she tried to fight back against someone stronger, they would more than likely kill her instantly... Meaning that it would be useless to hide at all. Not that she was really worried about it, she just didn't want to die earlier than she needed to. It would be... boring if she died without being able to put up a fight, wouldn't it? Yeah... she would get stronger, and eventually claw her way up to the front lines. She desperately wanted to be a part of the fight to clear the floors. And she would gladly give everything to be a part of it all, even if she had to give her life away at some point. She whispered quietly to herself, just barely loud enough to be audible to someone else.

"Wait for me... Just wait for me, everyone..."

Itzal did not have the feeling that someone was watching him.  He never noticed he was spotted by the girl as he focused on regaining his balance.  That would have been a bit too meta.  In the meantime, Itzal continued to follow the tracks of the players.  While Mina's whispered words could be heard by those nearby her, Itzal was behind a full sand dune, which kept him from hearing anything.  He continued to make his way through the sands before his map indicated that he was nearly on top of the area in question.  The Sand shark boss fight area.  Itzal was just outside of it and was able to identify movement in attempted hiding.  He remained still for a long while as he waited for them to move.  As he waited, he counted the players in hiding.  The result was about five players.  So he'd be fighting against five then eh?

LD: 20- Itzal Spotted!

Mina winced as she spotted the player a second time... when he took a tumble down a sand dune, and ended up falling down, and completely out of sight. She let out a sigh, before switching into the midnight rose cloak, and started fiddling around with her menu again, searching for something in particular... She began running the instant she spotted the area where the sand shark was supposed to spawn. She rushed into the middle of it, kicking up a large spray of sand as she charged forward. She eventually skidded to a stop in the middle of the flat area within the ring of sand dunes. she flicked her menu one last time, and a mask materialized in her right hand with a glimmer of blue and purple to it. A grin had crossed her face, her eyes bright with exhilaration. "SHOWTIME KIDDOS!" she shouted, before snapping on the mask, and jamming her weapon into the ground. There was a faint rumbling sound that echoed around the area, sounding ominous... until the ground briefly buckled, before ripping open, and spawning the Sand Shark from within. Mina lept into the air, a whoop escaping her throat as she found herself falling down on the giant shark. She fell on her back, and ended up taking a small amount of damage from the sharp scales on its body, though she found it fairly easy to keep up with it despite it. Unless she crit it, she guessed, she would likely do the same amount of damage as she would with a non-critical attack If it were a simple game of outlasting, she could easily beat down the damn shark. "WAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

  • 5 weeks later...

Watching the five of them from his hiding spot he heard sounds in the distance.  Someone was fighting the sand shark?  Maybe the girl was fighting the boss.  After he thought that he heard the wahooo sound a girl made.  Why did the voice sound familiar?.....  He shook his head, shaking the thought away as he looked at his targets.  They seemed to be getting ready to ambush her.  Perfect, he'd catch them off guard.  He pulled an item from his inventory.  A small spear with a rope attached to it.  He wasn't good with the spear in any way, but he had practiced throwing it.  Because it wasn't a sword art, it wouldn't be dealing much damage, but that wasn't the point of it.  He hid behind the group as the five seemed to position themselves on their side of the dune.  He could hear them making their plan of attack and start counting down before they charged forward.  When they hit two on their little countdown, Itzal threw the spear into one of the player's necks.  It hooked on him and he yanked the player down from the dune, catching the attention of the pkers.  Velnia flew around to strike them from the side.  Sending steel rods and spikes from her maw into their legs causing them to fall on their backs and slide down.  As they slid they saw Itzal draw his blade and prepare to take all five of them on.

Mina continued to ride on top of the large shark, her excited cheers seeming to grow stronger and stronger as she battled against the creature, fighting for purchase against its sharp scales. Mina flinched when she felt herself get damaged with a critical hit, and she felt herself get knocked into the air by it. She realized that she had been sent flying several feet up, so she charged up a powerful sword art in retaliation. Her rapier glowed brightly as she simply allowed herself to swan-dive back down to the shark, her dark red eyes narrowed with determination. She suddenly moved both hands to her rapier as the sword art reached its full chargeup. She closed her eyes, before letting lose with the sheer force of the sword art. Of course, she knew that it wasn't anywhere near enough power for her to have when it came to the power of players of a higher level than herself... but that was besides the point. She knew that she could keep up with them someday. She just had to work a little harder than they did, That's all.

Two of the five players had regained their footing as they were sliding downward and drew their weapons on Itzal.  When they reached the ground they charged while the other two struggled to get back up.  The player who was on the ground was currently ripping the spear out of his throat (which under normal circumstances would be quick and easy, but he was still in shock of having a blade running through his neck).  Itzal waited until the two players were near before parrying the first player's blade with his sword, and deflecting the second with the metal on his outer arm.  They continued to attack him as he parried strike after strike until the other two began to circle around him so they could ambush him.  He waited until one of the two in front tried a long strike to push him back, and instead of parrying he dodged the strike, grabbed the man's arm, and threw him over his shoulder towards one of the pkers striking from behind.  He then swung his blade in a wide arc, striking the two remaining players.  Effectively applying the paralysis enhancement on them. He turned and caught the spear thrown at him from the player he'd knocked down and used both his sword and the spear to parry and block his attacks until Itzal cut the player's weapon hand off and stabbed him in the torso, kicking him away.  He then swung his blade around to block the attack coming in from behind.  This was going to be an interesting fight...

Mina finally decided that enough was enough when it came to getting injured with the sharp scales of the gargantuan sand shark, so she knew she needed to get off of it somehow... A cheshire grin crossed her face underneath the mask as an idea came to mind. She stood up, before running down the back of the beast, dodging the razor sharp scales. Her laughter began echoing out around her as she continued to dodge, bob, and weave around the spines. The shark let out an angry snarl, and bucked, nearly sending her flying if it weren't for the fact that she had grabbed hold of one of the beast's dorsal fins.  After it had stopped bucking around in the sand, mina ran down it's back the rest of the way, aiming a charged up sword art at the beast's tail. It let out an angry roar, and she was bucked off all the way this time. Her laughter could be heard for quite a ways, as well as the enraged snarls from the boss.

The fighting continued as blades danced around, sending sunlight in every direction.  Itzal dropped to the ground, pressed his left hand against the ground and spun to the left, kicking his feet out to knock his two opponents down before vaulting to his feet again.  When he did he parried another blow a player made towards him.  Itzal nodded to Velnia who flew over head, and she sent iron rods into his opponent's shoulders, hands and legs into the ground, pinning him down.  For a short while at least, with all this sand.  Itzal watched as the other two players who were paralyzed were suddenly free from the effects.  They tried to get up but they couldn't move their arms.  That of course was because Itzal had handcuffed them.  The two remaining players who fought the cloaked hunter began to rush and press their attack.  Their offensive counterattack was enough to push Itzal backwards, slowly heading up the sand dune.  Deflecting blade after blade, Itzal did his best not to be struck in case they had paralysis on their blades as well.  As he moved upward he sent a cloud of sand into their eyes.  One of them covered his in time while the other failed to, stepped on the dune wrong, and began falling down it while Itzal and his opponent moved ever closer to the top of the dune.

Mina charged up Crucifixion yet again, her eyes darkening with malice. The glimmer of her blade made her wonder, and she guessed that her weapon was going to fully activate this time. She felt her grin widen when she saw the aura of a crit slowly start to surround her weapon. She pointed her weapon at the large shark once again, a grin crossing her face. "Now, before I prepare to take down the remainder of your health, Mr. Sand shark, I have to do something else..." Mina called, a grin, before she was flying into motion. Her light pink hair started flying around her as she moved through the sand, dodging the pitiful attempts to seriously injure her. With a mighty roar, Mina moved in to strike the monster, the violet aura from her critical strike mixing with the honey yellow of Keen activating, and the bloody red from bleed activating. The sand shark made a pitiful roar, before crashing to the side, almost unable to move.

The figure who was pierced by the iron rods was finally starting to pull himself out of the sand.  His health was still dropping but he had plenty of time to take the rods out before his health hit halfway.  While he was doing this, the pker whose sand was covered in sand remembered that this was a game, so sand wouldn't hurt him in his eyes nor make him uncomfortable.  Just made it harder to see due to literally having dots on his vision.  Meanwhile the player killer and Itzal continued to trade blows and parries until finally they reached the top of the sand dune.  The player leaped at Itzal with a roar, attempting to knock him off balance.  Instead Itzal rolled onto his back on the top of the dune, kicked the player over him, rolled and positioned himself so he slid down the dune safely toward...  His target, and the girl fighting the sand shark?  Sh*t, they climbed the wrong dune.  He ran towards his target, sliding under the female player to avoid disrupting her, before reaching his feet again.  While he chased his target, his familiar kept the two unbound players from uncuffing their allies.  Itzal reached the player killer and they continued to fight.  They were a decent distance from the girl and her duel with the boss, so they wouldn't be disturbed...  But he couldn't hide the fact that they were in the area now.

Mina's rapier gleamed yet another time as she fell through the air, the sand shark having kicked up a shockwave that flung her up high, high enough to give her a view of a cloaked player chasing what looked to be a player killer. Mina charged up Crucifixion one last time, before unleashing it onto the large shark without mercy. A sigh escaped her throat as she fell down onto the beast, ripping her blade through it a total of six times, bringing it down to only a sliver of it's large pool of health. a few moments later, the large creature let out a loud roar that shook the entire area, before swelling up briefly, a golden yellow aura emanating from the monster as its health slowly dwindled to zero from the bleed effect. Mina fell through the body of the beast once it's health reached zero, and it shattered completely, countless polygons flowing around the area as it shattered. Mina used her cloak to soften her fall, using it as a makeshift parachute...

The pker fought viciously to get around Itzal's defenses.  That's what he was counting on.  He continued to lash out at the player, parrying his blows and sending counter attacks his way.  The pker kicked some of the sand up into Itzal's face but his hood covered most of the attack.  The rest didn't bother him as he kicked the player in the gut.  "Nasha!"  He called, using his American accent as he'd been practicing.  An iron rod would be seen hurling over the dune until Itzal caught it with his free hand.  He blocked the player's attack with the sword and shoved the iron rod up into his torso but in a way where it would make fighting difficult for the pker.  Itzal parried another two swings before he placed the flat of his sword against the rod and flipped the player upward.  When he did he grabbed the player's face and shoved him into the sand.  He then took a pair of handcuffs and cuffed the player.  After that he turned and looked at the girl to see what she would do.  All she would see is a black mist shifting under the hood.

mina watched the cloaked player anxiously. She'd watched the elegant brawl that he had engaged in with the other player, and shivered slightly at the thought of being in a similar situation. she simply decided to slide backwards a bit, watching him carefully under her mask. She noticed that he seemed to have what looked as though they could be handcuffs, likely meaning that he was a vigilante that captured bad players that were trying to actively harm and steal from green players. Or... he could be a green dummy, a player that was a part of a PK'er guild that worked to gain the trust of a group of green players. they would then lure the group into an ambush point, before the orange, player-killing, members of the guild came out of hiding, and slaughtered the group. This was done often on the lowest floors, especially on the first five. Mina slipped into a crouch, watching the cloaked figure carefully, and placed her hand on the pommel of her rapier. If he was going to attack her , she certainly didn't plan to go down without a fight.

Once he saw the girl take a defensive position he considered the possibilities.... Then decided she wasn't a threat.  After that he nodded and charged to the sand dune he came from.  Once he reached the top he leaped into the air, catching the two fighting Velnia by surprise.  He thrust his sword into the first one from above and grabbed the other one as the three tumbled down.  Once they reached the bottom the player he stabbed was paralyzed and the other dizzy.  Itzal handcuffed the paralyzed one and pulled his sword out.  The final enemy roared as he thrust his blade into Itzal, who did nothing to parry or block the incoming assault.  The player's eyes widened when Itzal used a stun sword art on him and handcuffed him as well.  With the three of them like this he dragged the four of them over to their ring leader.  "You're going to regret this.  We'll find you and-"  Itzal kicked the player in the face before taking out a corridor crystal.  He activated it and picked one of them up.  Then he tossed the player in.  One by one he threw them all into the prison Hestia had forged.  Once they were gone he collapsed the corridor.

Mina bit her lip, before opening her menu, and sending the mask she was wearing back into her inventory. After she did so, her pink hair seemed to fall neatly over one of her eyes, leaving only her heavily scarred eye visible. the one that she used to keep tucked under an eyepatch. As much as she needed the extra accuracy her mask would bring, hopefully seeing her face might be enough to deter the person. Especially after she watched them throw several players into what looked to be a corridor crystal, 'Screw you! I'm not going down without a fight!' she thought venomously, glaring at the other player, before rocketing forward. "RRRAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!" her voice had grown loud enough to sound as though she was roaring. Mina had a look of grim determination on her face as she charged forward. If the player didn't immediately flee from her, he would more than likely kill her without even having to try. But at least this way, she would be going down on her own terms.

Itzal saw the player make movement and watched as her mask vanished.  His eyes widened under the shadow.  MINA?!!!!  He froze, not sure what to do or say.  As Itzal he would have a serious talk with her as to why she was wearing a skull mask and cloak.  As the Rogue...  He'd probably just stand there and wait for her to do something.  He took a deep silent breath as he knew he had to stay in character.  When she charged forward he bit his lip.  Forgive me Mina, but I can't reveal that I know you.  When she rushed at him he let her strike him with his blade before grabbing her arm and side, then flung her over his head onto the ground.  He grabbed his blade and thrust it into the sand.  The silver familiar shot another iron rod out for him to grab and he sent it into her shoulder to keep her from moving.  After that he stood up and backed up a step or two.  "You with them then?  Avenging them will do you no good."

Mina let out a choked scream as she was suddenly pinned down by a paralysis effect, and felt something drive into her shoulder, causing her to go numb in that area. She heard him take a few steps backwards, and mina curled up slightly, trying to find some solace after getting completely and utterly taken down by the disguised player. "W-who... who the HELL ARE YOU?!!" she snarled, barely managing to turn her head to face the player without-a-face. "Why were you throwing those players into a corridor crystal?! Answer me damn you!" she saw the dimunitive familiar that was fluttering nearby him. It was a beautiful soft, silvery color. It reminded her intimately of something, but she couldn't place what that could be, especially not in her current state. She probably wouldn't even recognize herself in a damn mirror right now. Adrenaline, fear, and concern all were mixing together, and making her unable to think straight. She cursed inwardly when she realized that she'd probably get thrown into one herself, so she turned away from the player with a disgusted look on her face. "Kuso... that doesn't matter, not now at least. I'm in no position to go and ask you questions, not when you have me restrained like this.... If you're gonna throw me in with those people go ahead, Jerk..."
