Zandra gritted her teeths as she saw more and more players disapear from the fight. Thru to crystals or some other way. They wasnt dead since their names was still there. But even when so many have left, they was still a strong group standing steady, not giving in. She listened to Itzals words and smiled.
"You dam right. Their bames are still there and they had way to much health to be one shotted. Not even Kayaba would design something like that. Not at this floor."
Zandra was ready for the four new Sahagins. But that didnt happened, they was six. She looked at Itzal, fire in her eyes. With so many enemies to fight, her fighting spirit have awoken. 'No, calm down.' she said to herself in her mind. But no, the excitment was to strong. Since the enemy was new spawns, she could use her charge again. "Burn in hell!" she screamed at the dragon when her axe cleaved thru its body, continuing thru the new veterans, setting on ablaze. She tried to finish of with the water crystal, but only hitted air. "Ari..." she started to tell her to go for tye water crystal. But she stopped. Ariel have been a frontliner long before herself. She knew what was best to do. Instead she changed what she was gonna say. "Ariel, Itzal, Sey, these lizards are no match for us. They think they can take us with numbers? They will regret they spawned infront of us."

Things were not going very well..  At all..  Whatsoever.  That could be easily proven true with the fact that both Ariel and Domarus were seized by the Sahagin and thrown over the Leviathan's body, tossed into the sea.  Itzal's eyes widened at this but...  Somehow he knew they would be fine.  It seemed that every boss now had some special method for removing inactive players from the boss fight.  Itzal turned to @Zandra before anyone could freak out.  "They're ok I think.  It's probably the boss removing inactive players from the fight.  This is the fourth boss that's done it so far.  But..."  He looked at the boss's health.  "...I'm not sure if we can finish it today.  I'm not about to quit, but we did just lose an AoE dos and one of our strongest hitters.  Zan, do you think you can keep on the offensive from here on out unless it's an emergency?"  Itzal himself tried to go and strike the Water Crystal, but when his blade hit it the crystal didn't even scratch.

Oh this was going to be a bleeding mess. The one to suffer the most was going to be Ariel, for Sey not only took a hit from Leviathan via hydro pump, but the water managed to freeze him in place. Six minions ran rampant throughout the battlefield, and Zandra already aimed her strikes. She struck two of the additional spawns, leaving four mad sagahins. "Brace for impact, I'm frozen and I sure as hell can't howl!" Maybe bringing down the segment during the freezing check wasn't such a good idea. He could take the hits of the adds, Zandra could, perhaps Itzal. But Ariel didn't need any more than two or three by the looks of it, how could she react to rampant enemies? The water crystal was a fun factor to deal with as well. This beast just had too many mechanics, a shame since this was the first and last time he planned to tank, so re-entry would be far more difficult.

Even though the bluenette was able to make some form of an impact on the tide of the battle, it seemed it was going to be a brief period. Right as he finished his attack with the great axe his eyes caught the shimmer of the icy water as it descended over the battlefield once again. Trying to move he immediately felt his body lock up, the Frostbite status effect taking over his avatar once again. Cursing under his breath for a moment the exhale condensed as the Grand Chariot III frosted over, taking on a brighter reflective surface.

Before he was fully paralyzed Calrex was able to glance across to see the second team suddenly become targeted by sahagin once again, but there were a few that were of a different color, "That's not good...it must be a final thing that the boss spawns. Either that or maybe after a certain amount of times they spawn it changes. Good thing the battle is hopefully almost over..."

Olive eyes scanned the horizon, dark clouds looming over the seemingly endless ocean. The black clouds would illuminate for seconds at a time as lightning erupted from the sky, the booming of thunder that accompanied it ever rumbling. The wind picked up, causing Jomei's coat and hair to tousle in the wind, he had a bad feeling that the Leviathan had one more trick up its sleeve. However, the players were getting close to their goal, and he would not let fear of the unknown take his focus away. After the fall of the four Sahagin due to Mars' devastating attack, the Leviathan unleashed another wave of freezing cold mist. Jomei took in a deep breath, a small cloud of fog escaping his lips as he exhaled.
The blade in his hand crackled, as if golden streaks of lightning jumped from different points on the sword, before igniting in a brilliant golden flame. As the ginger opened his eyes, the familiar olive color had been replaced with a hue similar to that of his rapier. Then, one foot after another, Jomei rushed forward, pushing right through the freezing cold air. The man zig zagged past his teammates and launched into the air, landing atop the lowered Leviathan's head. The man brought his swor up high over his head and stabbed down into the skull of the beast, marking the beginning of his sword art. Moving faster than the eye could see, Jomei's blade tore through the top of the head of the serpent multiple times before Jomei's eyes, and sword, reverted to their normal color, marking the end of his sword art. Once his attack was finished, Jomei hopped off of the boss' head and took a few steps back, awaiting whatever retaliation the Leviathan would unleash.

Neo wanted to be helping in this fight, but she couldn't see through the frigid mists. As she tried to crawl her way towards what she thought was the leviathan's segment, she found herself slowing to a crawl, the frozen mists seizing up her nervous system. She knew it was all a trick of the game, but it felt so real to her. The frost crept at the edge of her vision and she was wanting to break free of it, but there seemed to be no escape. Resigning herself to the cold reflection of her current moment, she hoped she could be of use the next chance that she got.

"Let go of me!!!" shouted the blonde, struggling to break free as the new adds went straight to her and took a hold of her. Overpowered, she was dragged and tossed to the side surprisingly with no extra HP loss. Gritting her teeth, Ariel persistently started climbing up the boss' scales to get back into the action. they wouldn't get rid of her that easily. Once on top she surveyed the battlefield she materializing her discarded weapon back in her hand and waved her banner to let people know she wasn't out of the fight yet! She would notice a new crystal forming by her side. Next, she dashed towards it and let out a short "HYAA!" as the blonde pole vaulted into the air above, dark theme clothing glittering in the pouring rain. Adjusting her stance midair, she released a sword art that effectively killed the air where the crystal stood.
Clicking her tongue, the blonde watched in spite as the evasive mineral started gathering water a good distance from her, as if teleporting there. She mentally started counting the adds around her party, noticing that a couple of them had a different color than the rest. Six in total... the situation took a turn to the worst as she didn't hear the team tank get their aggro, instead letting them know he was frozen. Everyone was free game for them and those close to her could hear the blonde softly swear with a irritated expression.

Players have 72 hours to post

[Deadline is Friday, June 21st at 2:00 PM]

The players were struggling now, hardly able to keep up with everything coming their way. It wouldn't be much longer before they were going to have to retreat entirely. They were coming close, but the leviathan didn't want to let them realize that. And perhaps if they retreated, the final blow could wait until another attack. That would be best, wait and show them their true power when they thought they were at their highest. That would be most beneficial.

As the water from the nearby crystal came towards the head of the leviathan, it sucked in the healing waters and was rejuvenated. The crystal itself seemed to split into two, both now floating about and going around to gather their water. With its healing done, the beast spewed out the now non-magical water towards one of the players encased in its ice.

This should not be much longer to go against them. They can only resist for so long.

Boss Stats:

Spoiler

Room Effect: Torrential Rain
A terrible storm rages on the seas, growing worse by the minute. At the start of each of Leviathan's turns, players are progressively hindered. Those with the <<Survival>> skill active take reduced penalties (noted in brackets). ACC and EVA reductions only last for the rotation they were applied:

Rotation 1: 50 mitigatable DMG [25 mitigatable DMG]
Rotation 2: 100 mitigatable DMG [50 mitigatable DMG]
Rotation 3: 150 mitigatable DMG and reduces EVA by 1 for a turn [75 mitigatable DMG]
Rotation 4: 200 mitigatable DMG and reduces ACC and EVA by 1 for a turn [125 mitigatable DMG and reduces EVA by 1 for a turn]
Rotation 5+: 250 mitigatable DMG and reduces ACC and EVA by 2 for a turn [175 mitigatable DMG and reduces ACC and EVA by 1 for a turn]

<<Leviathan>> [48 TV 1/2]
[
                    ]
[                    ]
[                    ]
0 MIT | 0 ACC | -2 EVA | 14 PD
Takes double damage from all sources excluding Burn damage.
Leviathan is out of reach and unable to be targeted except for howl, focused howl, and other abilities that only generate hate until one of her Segments are downed.

Passive:  Queen's Ire
Applies to a player when they deal damage to Leviathan. Reduces all sources of health and energy restoration by half (rounded down, to a minimum of 0). Destroying a Segment immediately removes Queen's Ire from its assigned party.

Ability 1: Hydro Jet
[Uses every turn]
An attack that pierces through the toughest of hides, the sturdiest of ships, and densest of armor. Leviathan rears back and launches a jet of concentrated water at the player with the highest hate. Deals 500 DMG and reduces the hate of that player against Leviathan by 3. On a non-critical hit, a player may choose to expend 5 energy at the start of their turn to ignore this hate reduction.

Ability 2: Frostbite (1/2 CD)
[2 Turn CD]
Leviathan breathes deeply, unleashing a wave of extreme frost over the area that coats players and solidifies into ice (Note that this does not take an attack roll to hit; this attack will ignore, but not interrupt, stealth; this attack does not proc thorns). At the start of the players' next turn, they must roll with the purpose "Frostbite" (This is not a post action and should be rolled after scald if applicable). On a LD 1-14, they suffer from the Freeze condition until the start of their next turn (Removes their action on the current turn and removes all EVA properties. If they are hit by a successful attack before the effect ends they take an additional 40 unmitigatable Frost DMG.). A frozen player's base DMG is reduced by 3 for one turn after the freeze effect ends (this is negated if the effect was purified). The following allow bonuses to this LD roll or ignore the effect:

  • +3 for having the <<Survival>> skill active.
  • +2 for having the Flame Aura, Flame Thorns, or Burn enhancements equipped. (Can only apply once per roll, burn effects granted from consumables do not apply)
  • +1 for every 2 EVA the player has.
  • Having the Antifreeze makes the player automatically succeed the check.
  • Suffering from the Burn effect from Scald makes the player automatically succeed the check.

Additional notes: This will proc anti-oxidants and antidotes before the roll. If a player neglects to roll for this effect, the boss will make the roll at a -5 penalty (and will apply retroactively). And though it is stated earlier, once again, this does not cost a post action. I will know you aren't reading these abilities if you ask me if it takes a post action. You cannot quick change to gain immunity either, as it takes place at the start of your turn.

Ability 3: Scald (3/3 CD)
[3 Turn CD] (starts on cooldown)
A sphere of heated volcanic ocean water is lobbed and splashes against all players in the party. Deals 100 unmitigatable DMG to the player with the highest hate, 50 unmitigatable DMG to the player with the second highest hate, and 25 unmitigatable DMG to all others (Note that this does not take an attack roll to hit; this attack will ignore, but not interrupt, stealth; this attack does not proc thorns). At the start of the players' next turn, they must roll with the purpose "Scald" (This is not a post action, and should be rolled before frostbite if applicable). On a LD 15+, their base DMG is reduced by 1 for one round. On a LD 1-14, they suffer from Burn, taking 40 unmitigatable Fire DMG at the beginning of their turn for two turns (This is affected by the snowfrost effect). The following allow bonuses to this LD roll or ignore the effect:

  • +3 for having the <<Survival>> skill active.
  • +2 for having the Frost Aura, Frost Thorns, or Freeze enhancements equipped. (Can only apply once per roll, freeze effects granted from consumables do not apply)
  • +1 for every 2 EVA the player has.
  • Having the Fireproof enhancement makes the player automatically succeed the check.
  • Suffering from the Freeze effect from Frostbite makes the player automatically succeed the check.

<<Segment 1>>
[                    ]
50 MIT | 2 EVA

AoE attacks cannot include more than one segment. Though they die and respawn, Segments cannot be affected by Charge more than once, and effects like debuffs will continue to affect a downed/respawned Segment.
One segment is assigned to each party. When a Segment is destroyed, Leviathan lurches forward and becomes targetable for 1 turn for all parties (stacks with other segments being destroyed). The destroyed Segment immediately respawns with a set of Sahagin adds. These Sahagin only target players in the party that they are assigned to and can only be targeted by players that they are assigned to. A respawned Segment has the <<Diamond Dust>> buff until all paired adds are killed.
Ability 1: Diamond Dust - Leviathan’s scales shimmer like diamonds. A Segment with the <<Diamond Dust>> buff is immune to damage.

0 MIT | 4 EVA
One crystal is assigned to each party. Only the assigned party may target the water crystal. Hate is not gained against water crystals. At the start of Leviathan's turn, each living Water Crystal heals Leviathan for 3% of its max HP. When a Water Crystal is destroyed, its corresponding party gains the <<Hydrated>> buff.
Ability 1: Hydrated: Instantly restores 25% of total energy (ignores queen's ire). Passive energy restoration is tripled and the effect of the Recovery enhancement is doubled for 1 turn.

The cloaked player watched as the boss's health continued to drop, now reaching the final half of the third health bar.  That would be...  One sixth of it's full health if he was processing correctly.  He heard Zandra agree with him and mention how not even Kayaba would create a boss that would one shot them for the twenty fourth floor.  Itzal definitely had to agree with that.  Kayaba was an insane a**hole for trapping them in here and forcing them to fight for their lives, but he wasn't completely inhumane.  Otherwise they'd have no means to stay alive like the teleport crystal.  When she charged forward with that unnatural fire in her eyes and told them they could win, Itzal waited to attack until Zandra returned to the group.  "We can't be overcautious right now.  The boss is at it's halfway point.  More than likely it has a few final tricks up its sleeve.  Watch your back ok Zan?"  He rushed over to Sey and stood beside him, holding his blade out.  "You've stacked up your hate a good while.  Try and help me take out this water crystal.  From there I can do my best with the Sahagins, but with my weak sword arts there isn't too much I can do."  Charging at the water crystal, he activated Meteor Strike and landed a solid hit.  He watched it's health drop.  "Maybe we can all land a hit this time..."

After Jomei's critical attack hit, he saw the piercing red eyes of the Leviathan shift to look at him. The first time this beast had looked him directly into the eyes..the first time any of the floor bosses put their focus on him instead of one of his team's tank. The long neck of the serpent swayed, pulling its head back before violently shifting forward again. Its large maw opened wide, releasing a concentrated stream of water directly directly at Jomei. Olive eyes went wide as the fear of taking the full front of that attack spilled over him. With a quick side step, Jomei Jomei twisted his upper body and let his legs follow, lifting him up into the air with a corkscrew kick. The man was barely able to flip right over the attack, with the help of his Acrobatics mod equipped. As his feet hit the ground, the Leviathan unleashed its Scalding attack yet again. The hot water sprayed against Jomei's side, burning his arm and half of his face. Even though he took full damage from the heat, he was able to move quickly enough to keep it from causing any lasting damage.

As the man recovered from the attacks, he saw the water crystal on the opposite side of the beast split into two, the second portion hovering over to where Jomei's team was. "I'm going after the crystal." Jomei shouted to his team, "We also need to get that segment down again quick so we can hit the big boss again!" Still feeling the adrenaline from the last attack and nearly being knocked on his ass from that powerful water blast, Jomei's eyes and sword shone a brilliant golden color once again as he rushed forward to where the healing crystal rested. Jumping into the air to meet where it floated, Jomei let the Cardinal system take him through the motions of Over Radiation once more, carving deep into the surface of the object. With one final stab with his rapier, the saw the crystal pulse purple, meaning the toxic venom had clung to it as well.

"Uh... That crystal is rather difficult to hit." Parrying would be a nice idea, but he didn't get such a luxery. If he could get the hit on the water crystal, then they would successfully clear that pesky thing for another few moments. It was an annoying thing, constantly making them hit the damn thing. But it was okay, so long as they had better care of their hits, all should work fine! Until he aimed a strike and missed, something that was sure to happen when a tank tried to get a hit in. An annoyed sigh would emit from his lips immediately afterwards, he wasn't getting it anytime soon. "Well, we need to clean up soon, I am not getting jack with this sort of role." An unfortunate reality for the party. Only two of them can hit the crystal. If not, they were going to have another refresh to deal with. This not the time for such a thing at all.

Taking a quick inventory of the health values i go to prep up the field medic only to see that queen's ire manages to be up meaning that if i did i wouldn't be able to cover Jomei as well as i could. With a small sigh i just nod my head and focuses on just healing one person for the moment as i quickly head towards the black haired katana user and activates first aid recovering his health to about the halfway point as i then back away to give the man some spcae as he would go in to attack the creature. Hearing the plan for Jomei i jut nod my head wishing i could actually help him, but being entirely unable to do so due to not having a singular weapon on hand, and wishing in this exact moment that i did for moments when i had nothing to do but possibly just attack.

After his health shoots up he just nods his head not even going to thank the person since it is their job to do this as he quickly shoots towards the water crystal not going to allow it a chance to live as his blade glows with a red light as he slams into the water crystal. His blade cutting through it multiple times with his attack before he backs away with a grin upon his face since that means their group has at least shut down the healing for the moment, and as a added bonus his energy is going to recover quite a decent amount due to how those things function. Now then all that is left is the segment and then hopefully kill this boss as a entire raid to kill this thing once and for all if we don't get frozen again by this thing. he says irritably since that has been sadly bad timing in figuring out when they should strike down the segment to avoid a frozen wave stopping them all.

Frozen (Cannot Act)

+46 Battle Healing (Queen's Ire)

Cooldowns:
Quick Change: 2/3
Bull Rush: 3/3

The faint sound of thin ice sheets beginning to loosen could be heard in brief moments between the clashes of steel on scale as the Ultramarine Knight's frozen prison began to release him. Cracks began to form on the thin exterior that had formed over his armor and gradually began chipping off. his limbs erratically moved across their planes of motion as a condensed breath escaped from beneath his expressionless helm. "Great...looks like I'm almost free again...but that means that I'll have to hope I can avoid the next attempt from its freeze attack again. Seems my luck has been pretty bad on that for the past few times. At least the others don't seem to be having as much issue as I am and can continue pressing the attack."

His eyes scanned over as he saw Jomei narrowly dodge a hydro blast as a frozen sweatdrop formed on the side of his helmet, "Crud, that means the hate levels for the tanks have been surpassed. Once I get out I might need to use Focused Howl in order to get to the top again. Although without taking out the segment again this halving of health and energy regen might be problematic."

More flecks of ice began to fall off of the gaps in the plates surrounding his fingers. Soon he would be free again, but the main question would be what he'd need to immediately do if he was able to escape Frostbite's grasp come the next turn.

There wasn't much left around, it was starting to feel desolate in this area. Players had been leaving and there was little to be had here. There was barely a moment that went by without Neo having to keep an eye on her health bar even more closely than before. Crushing another of her healing crystals in her fist, she gripped her rapier and made her way towards the segment. For the moment, she couldn't risk attacking leviathan, but she could at least try to get her damage in against the additional enemies and targets that were available to her. Hopefully Hestia would drop a field medic again soon so that way she was more comfortable attacking leviathan. Until she was higher health, she couldn't risk losing out on the possibility of less healing. It just wasn't a feasible option. Backing up from her strike against the segment, Neo looked around to see if there was anything else that needed her attention.

The blonde sneered as she evaded one of the new adds tried to slash at her, lacking in comparison with her Acrobatics skill. However, she wondered why their tank had decided to try going after the crystal instead of gaining the adds' hate. He'd been Howling all this time and possibly accumulated more than enough agrro on the boss, only to leave them to the mercy of the adds. Still, she shook such distractions as she once again eyed the crystal. The fact that it had a slither of life left but kept casually walking around the battlefield pissed the blonde off and she charged right at it again with little regard of her surroundings.

Thus she slipped right in the middle of her sword art animation, the wet ground gave up under her boots and she went shoulder first on the ground. Cursing once again, she raised her gaze only to see herself covered in mud/sand and the crystal nowhere near her vicinity anymore. "This is starting to get annoying very fast." uttered the blonde as she her obsidian weapon as a support to raise herself up.

The water crystal needed to be taking down. The heals was nothing that could keep going if they was to win this fight. She looked at her energy. It was dropping more and more. Even thanks to the extra energy regen, she was going low. Thankfully she had a big pool from the start and this extra regen seemed to be percent based. But her actions are the most energy consuming ones, as well as with anti freeze, she can do actions every round, meaning no rounds with her not reducing her energy pool. She had already spent her charge against the crystal. Well at least that would make it easier to hit it. But no, the axe just cleaved thru thin, misty air. "God freaking damnit!!!" she shouted angrily. She let her anger flow onto the other sahagins, killing three off them. "Dont you dare trying to interrupt in our fight against the real opponent!!" she said to them as they shattered.
Then she prepared to attack the crystal again. "what did Kayaba thought when he designed that crystal?" she mumbled to herself

Players have 72 hours to post

[Deadline is Monday, June 24th at 3:00 PM PDT (UTC - 7)]

Leviathan could feel the players resentment and anger growing within them as the water crystal floated towards its head once more. There was little that they could do as it healed it for even more health. The other group of players seemed to have their own crystal under control, but they could sense a fragility among them that would make them fall apart even faster than the others. Seeing the opportunity to strike, the leviathan quickly sprayed a huge jet of water at one of the players, a ginger that struck the crystal inside of the water. blowing him far off of the fight, they turned to survey what else was going on.

The rain was still pouring down and soaking into the clothes of every person there as the remaining Sahagin struck another of the players. The leviathan spewed forth another jet of water towards this group as well, hoping to catch someone off guard with the attack. It seemed to work for the moment, and they were glad to see that their fortitude was dwindling.

Boss Stats:

<<Leviathan>>

                    ]
[                    ]

Ability 2: Frostbite (2/2 CD)

Ability 3: Scald (2/3 CD)

Zandra was getting more and more worried. Her fire still burned, but a thougth of doubt have started to grow. The health of the players was dropping. She was out of healing crystals. She was so low on energy now, she would only be able to aoe attack or field medic once before needing to destroy a crystal for energy regen. Still, the dragons health had stopped dropping. This fight that looked so good from the start, didnt anymore. And if they retreated, she would have to stack up on buffa again. She wasnt sure she would be able to do that in time for a retry. They had to succed. They had to bring Levi down. But if they cant, when is the time to use a tp crystal? When is the time to abandon all hope and give the victory to Kayaba? Also, to have joined the first failed boss raid. No, that wont happen. And with that she attacked, easily wiped out the last mob. But her attack missed both the segment and the crystal. Doubt started to grow again.

With a final push Calrex broke free from his frozen restraints as the ice that had formed a layer around his avatar, giving a few full breaths while he regained his posture, "Well free for now..."

Glancing over at the boss the bluenette immediately recognized the frost that had descended onto the battlefield once again, Leviathan having cast Frostbite on the teams once again. At this point the Ultramarine Knight had gone far past any form of resentment or surprise at the attack, "This is basically a room effect at this point."

"Glad everyone's hanging in there so far, but at this point it seems rather ridiculous to have this effect be such a constant thing. it could be just bad luck, but it feels like parameters to stay free might only benefit people that per chance have a build that will maximize their chances, and going from the rumors we heard of this fight it would literally be left up to chance, as even any protective measures we have will only work for the first few rounds. Even Safeguard is rendered useless because of the rain triggering the defense before anything else happens."

Feeling his body start to lock up once again Calrex shook his head in disappointment, "Mack would be rolling over laughing at this point, because this is basically stunlock in perfect execution."

Looking over at his teammates as he looked at their health bars, "We need to wrap this up soon or we're going to lose at least three people on our team alone. Leviathan should be off stun immunity now, so heal if you can, and if possibly stun it once it tries to use Frostbite again so we can get another round. Be careful of your he..."

Before he could say the last word in his sentence his entire body locked up, now fully frozen again.
