Alec found himself sitting upon a wooden chair at a lone wooden table in the Bears Den Inn on the Second Floor in the town of Urbus sipping on a cup of coffee having just finished a filling and delicious breakfast of eggs over easy, thick cut bacon strips and fried potatoes when he over heard some idle conversation from a nearby table. It seemed as though the pair of individuals there were talking about an incident that had happened on the Fourth Floor. From what he gathered from their conversation a group of low level adventures had been out farming the Ice Elementals on the tundra of the floor when they had accidentally triggered the appearance of a randomly spawning field boss named Avalanche. The field boss it seemed had put up a rather difficult fight for the group but once they had finalky defeated it it had dropped a rather powerful alchemical concoction. The pair didn't seem to know exactly what the concoction did but it was still enough to peak Alec's interest.

Alec glanced to his side at the American black bear cub lying there chewing in the remnants of a large T bone steak bone as he cocked and eye brow and ask "You hear that Humphrey? That's sounds interesting to me. What do you say? Want to check out a floor with Ice Elementals on it? Bet it's cold." Alec ended with a rye grin on his face as he gazed at Humphrey waiting for a response from his companion. Humphrey stood up still clutching the chewed upon bone within its teeth as it looked up at Alec growled fiercely and bit down forcefully snapping the bone it two piece and causing it to explode in a shower if tiny gray pixels. Alec chuckled at Humphrey's response "That's exactly what I thought you'd say my friend." Alec replied as he drained the last of his coffee and flexed his tree thrum like legs and stood up from his chair.

As Alec flexed his tree trunk like legs and stood up from the wooden chair it let out an audible warning CREAK as he stood causing him to scowl in response. He couldn't stand the way everything here was designed for smaller lighter people. The game designers seemed to think everyone was tiny and light but no thought had been put into the consideration of designing things for people of larger frames such as himself and everytime he was reminded of that it irritated him beyond measure and probably would continue to irritate him beyond measure every single day he was here. Just one more of the many reasons he had to get stronger so he could join the Front Lines team and Tank for them, who were in fact fighting this very minute to clear the latest Boss and open the next Floor in this Gods forsaken virtual world he and these other people were stuck in.

As Alec and Humphrey agreed amongst themselves to go in search of this Avalanche on Floor Four and defeat it a chime sounded in Alec's ear and a banner popped up in his vision bringing a fierce smile to his face  <<Accept Quest - Avalanche?>> The floating banner read. Alec reached out and tapped the green <<Accept>> button that sat on the banner right next to the red <<Deny>> button. As he touched the green button he heard another triumphant chime which caused him to chuckle at how things worked here in this digital prison of a world before he slid his wooden chair under the table he had been seated at with an audible wood on wood scrape. As Alec began walking across the wooden floor of the Inn's common room his boots made a series of deep hollow thuds as he made his way across the room to the door that opened to the streets of Urbus outside.

Alec wrapped his large hand around the door knob which he turned and pulled opening the door to the Bears Den Inn and allowing him to look outside to the street outside. He stood aside and allowed Humphrey to exit the Inn first then Alec stepped through the doorway behind him closing the door to the Inn and entering the mass if people on the street making their way to wherever they happened to be going. He took two large steps send caught up to Humphrey easily keeping pace with the bear cub as the pair made their own way through the crowd headed for the teleportation pad at the town's center. As the pair began their travel through the crowded streets a small natural bubble opened up around Alec and Humphrey as the general populace subconsciously shied away from him due purely to his naturally over large size and people's general nature to shy away from him.

Alec and Humphrey made their way side by side till they reached the teleportation pad at the center of the town of Urbus. As Alec stepped forward with Humphrey at his side the pair stepped on to the pad and as they reached the center Alec spoke one word in his deep baritone voice "Snowfrost." The word resonated through the air as the pair shimmered and disappeared in the blink of an eye reappearing someplace completely different. Alec took a breath at the sudden chill he felt and was repaid with the crisp sting that a lung full of frozen air gives you. As Alec let the breath out in a thick cloud of steam and that hung heavy in the air like thick smoke the large man smiled one of the rare few genuine smiles he had since entering and being trapped in this digital hell of a world. "Yes." Alec thought to himself.

Alec smiled as he looked around his surroundings. The air was crisp and cold with a mild tinge of wood smoke to the air. The buildings surrounding Alec and Humphrey were all low slung wood buildings and huts, it was rather homey in nature. He saw a mix of human and elves moving around the village who were all wrapped tightly in furs and scarves. The number of people were drastically less than on the other two floors he'd been on. Alec didn't feel cramped here or crowded by the number and sheer weight of the press of bodies. As he stepped off the teleportation pad he began to walk the few streets here in Snowfrost and noticed only two taverns and one Inn within the village and several shops but all in all there was very little here minus the snow and all in all Alec was very pleased with what he found here.

As they passed through the village Alec looked down to Humphrey. "I don't know about you pal but I could see myself spending some time in a place like this. Maybe if I ever decide to do the house thing or something I'll look here or for someplace like here. I've never really been bothered by the cold plus add to that how small this main village is and how few people are here and to me that equals a nice place to be." Alec stated honestly to his friend and travelling companion Humphrey. Humphrey looked up at Alec as he padded along softly in the snow and let out a growl of ascent to the large man walking beside him. Humphrey would miss all the children but he liked the peace and quiet of this place plus the cold felt good to him. "Well." Alec said as he looked back down at Humphrey "Guess we have some Ice Elementals to find."

After Alec and Humphrey had completed a quick circuit of the village they headed off to the main gate which was merely a opening in the wooden palisade large enough to drive a cart through but with a double sided gate they could close and reinforce should the need arise. Alec stopped just inside the gate and reached out his hand and performed a quick downward swipe with his index finger opening his inventory and allowing him to view the collection of items he had amassed inside it. Alec scrolled through the list till he came upon his Adamantine Pauldron and reached his index finger tapping the icon that represented his Heavy Armor piece. His Heavy Armor shoulder guards shimmered and wavered into view resting comfortably on his shoulders with his bear skin shoulder wrap sitting atop to offer him so protection and warmth against the cold. The armor was made from an ultra dense material that when forged turned into a dark green so dark as to be nearly indistinguishable from black.

Next Alec continued to scroll through the items listed within his inventory till he found his trusted shield. He reached out and tapped the picture of the item that stood for his Shield of the Thunderhearts. As he touched the picture his forearm began to shimmer and waver as his shield came into view strapped securely to his forearm. The shield was made from a white metal and had a beveled edge to it. On the face of the shield was a very cool lightning symbol engraved into the metal surface. As Alec looked over his shield his eyes were naturally drawn to the inscription engraved on the back of the shield and Alec let his eyes drifted across the inscription as he read it aloud under his breath. "When the tide rises, become the storm." Alec intended to himself. It had become a mantra for himself whenever he equipped or unequipped the shield he read the inscription and when he did he felt a surge rise up within himself that bolstered his will and hardened his resolve.

Finally Alec scrolled through the list if items within his inventory and stopped when he reached his weapon. Alec took a second to stare at the tiny image of an axe on his item list and reached out a finger and touched the image and watched as the air around his hand shimmered and wavered as his Mithril Battle Axe coalesced and appeared within his grasp. He turned the one handed axe over in his grip admiring the smooth flowing lines and angles of the mirror reflective weapon. His axe had a mirrored surface that resembled mercury or quicksilver and all the lines and angles were soft and curved. The weapon really was a piece of art that could have been hung in a museum aside from the fact that it had been forged to kill. Alec took the axe and slipped it into the loop hanging from his hip and let it rest there as he turned back to this inventory list and the items contained within it.

The last thing Alec did was to scroll through his inventory looking at the list if items contained within it picking and choosing the items he wanted to assign to his Battle Ready slots. He had 5 slots to choose from but hadn't filled them all yet. As Alec poked and prodded through the list he ended up choosing his Tier 1 Healing Potions he had four of them but each Battle Ready slot could only hold two like items so he put two in his first available slot and two in his second Battle Ready available slot. He scrolled through the rest of his list and pondered adding one of his damage potions but ended up deciding against that and closed his list and finally his inventory happy with his choices. With that Alec looked down to his companion Humphrey as he took a deep breath if the chill biting air and exhaled happily as he said in his deep baritone voice "Well pal? Ready to go?" Humphrey responded with a loud growl of affirmation as he pawed at the air.

Alec stepped through the main gate of Snowfrost with Humphrey his faithful and trusted American Black Bear cub companion at his side as the pair made their way into the snow covered wilds of the Fourth Floor. The snow wasn't deep just continual which left the sky mildly overcast as the snow fell at a slow but consistent rate as the pair of travelling companions made their way into the snow covered forest and began to explore their surroundings. The terrain appeared mostly flat except for the rare few mountain peaks he saw spread across the floor. As Alec and Humphrey continued on Alec spotted several animals in the distance he saw some Elk and a few Foxes he even saw a few Bear tracks in the snow but never the Bear to go either them. As the pair walked through the snow covered forest Alec began to search the snow covered terrain looking for anything if hidden value hidden within the forest.

Alec searched the snow covered terrain of the forest as he and Alec passed through the area headed for the open tundra area ahead of them. Alec thought for a second that he had found something of value but it turned out it was only a smooth section of bark buried in a hole and ended up not being a Treasure Chest like he'd hoped to find. After he had spent what felt like a good enough stretch of time searching Alec gave up on his search and began walking along again headed for the open tundra and its Ice Elementals ahead. Alec saw several other animals at a distance but chose not to engage them. He spotted a small herd of Deer and few more Elk and even a Moose standing in a low pond off in the distance. Alec breathed deeply of the clean crisp air and happily exhaled large clouds of steam that hung in the air like thick smoke. He enjoyed being outside the cities but even the main town which was more of a village seemed pleasant to him too. Alec really might need to consider setting up here. Even if just to start by switching to the Inn here. He really liked this floor he thought to himself.

Alec and Humphrey continued their travel till they found themselves standing at the edge of an open tundra with several Ice Elementals roaming the area in groups of two to three. The Elementals were humanoid in shape and stood roughly six feet tall. They were broader in the shoulders than a normal person and their features were blunted as their entire forms were made of solid blocks of ice. Alec reached down and eased his Mithril Battle Axe from the loop at his hip and hefted the weapon reacquainting himself with the feel of the weapon as he twisted it in his grip and eyed the closest pair of Elementals.  As the pair of Elementals began to approach him Alec called upon the energy to power a Sword Art and felt the energy rush into his axe causing it to begin to glow as the pair of Elementals moved onto range Alec spring in a leap landing in front of them and swinging his axe in a wide arc at the pair.

As the pair of roaming Ice Elementals neared Alec and Humphrey's position Alec began drawing on the energy to power a Sword Art. He felt the energy course through him and begin building in his axe. As the energy level built so to did the glow of his axe head. When the energy level had  reached its peak so too had the glow of Alec's weapon. When the duo of Ice Elementals got close enough Alec leapt into the air and landed before them swinging his Sword Art powered Mithril Battle Axe in a smooth wide arc that sent a glowing arc of energy soaring at both Elementals and striking them powerfully in the chest opening up a large gash on each of their chests that shot out blue pixels. The first Elemental swung out at Alec with a large frozen fist but the sheer aggression of Alec's attack caused it to topple over and fall flat on the ground. As the arc of energy took the second Elemental in the chest Alec's shield began a low hum that ended in a loud CRACK as it electrocuted the Elemental Paralyzing it.

Alec summoned the energy for a Sword Art and when his Mithril Battle Axe held all it could Alec flexed his legs and jumped landing in front of the pair of roaming Ice Elementals swinging his mirror headed Battle Axe in a wide smooth arc that sent out an arc if energy that slammed the two Elementals in the chest and opened large gashes there that vented blue pixels from them. The first of the Ice Elementals had swing an oversized frozen fist at Alec but had overextended and toppled over to the ground. As the energy had taken the second Elemental in the chest Alec's shield had begun its low him which ended with a CRACK and the Elemental becoming Paralyzed from a burst if static electricity. As the second Elemental stood Paralyzed and the first Elemental began ponderously raising itself to its feet Alec called on the energy to power another Sword Art. The energy flowed through him and began to build within his axe causing it to glow. As the power peaked so to did his weapons glow. When his axe held all it could Alec took aim and swung his glowing powered up Mithril Battle Axe for the first Elemental's neck.

As Alec stood ready his shield held before t him the first of the Elementals attacked. Alec calmly raised his shield and accepted the heavy blow from the overlarge ice fist that crashed into his shield. Alec instantly lashed out with his Mithril Battle Axe in a looping arc that slammed into the giant ice creature and chopped a piece free of its body releasing blue pixels from the wound. The Elemental reared back and threw a solid punch at Alec that he easily maneuvered his shield to take the brunt of jarring his arm again from the creatures unforgiving icy fist. As the Elemental contacted Alec's shield it again began its steady hum that ended with another SNAP as it again burst a charge of stored up static electricity into the Ice Elemental shocking it.
