HISTORY/PERSONALITY:

Born in Chicopee, Minnesota, William-- or Will-- has always been the centre of attention in his early life. His parents praised him for everything he did right in his life and forgave him a little too quickly when it came to mistakes. Two words could be pretty much said when you saw his lifestyle: Spoiled rotten. His parents never had another child, which only kept him in the state of being pampered. Although his family wasn't rich, that didn't mean he couldn't get what he wanted.

Will soon realized that he was being spoiled, and he liked it. By the time he was in high school, he still loved being treated like royalty. As if it couldn't get any worse, he became a huge flirt as soon as he got into high school. Not many could deny it even though they wished they could, but William Westbrook was handsome. He loved the attention, he loved the nasty glares other boys sent him when they saw a girl attached to him by the hip. People have warned him about his choices, but he didn't listen. His parents supported him, supported him a little too much. In their eyes, he was the perfect son. Nothing was wrong with him, and nothing could ever be. 

When the NerveGear and SAO were released, he was already in Japan, visiting for a funeral, surprisingly. He didn't have to say much for his parents to know that he wanted it. Mention it a few times here and there, and then the next day, the box was in his hands. When reality-- or virtual reality-- finally crashed down on him on the first day of SAO, he was a wreck. For once in his life, he didn't get what he wanted. And he wanted out. It only took so little to make him realize that he was alone and scared. He kept his playboy traits anyway, snagging girls from floor to floor, although he never dared to venture to the higher floors, for he didn't want to admit it: he was a coward. 

HIS STORY SO FAR: [Before written events...]

Although Hynes could fish himself a girl from every floor, he couldn't help but feel lonely. The girls came and went, along with the painless slap on the cheeks. He fell into immense thinking for a few days. He questioned everything he had done in the past. Did he ever really have friends? Or was it all a lie? On one of those days, he met Evelyn-- or as her username suggested, Kirbs. He was surprised. For once, he felt like he wasn't alone when he was with her. She was his missing half. The honest, joking, and determined attitude she had put up for herself left him bewildered and the two stuck together like glue.

Although, all good things had have to come to an end eventually, as he thought. 

VIRTUES AND FLAWS:

Virtus:

Approachable: His big ego doesn't make him any less approachable. He's friendly, and he's an easy friend to make. It's not like he's always scowling either. Everything about him screams welcoming.

Positive: When he wants to be, Hynes can turn every frown upside-down. He's usually just cheery in general. Although, like everyone, he has his bad days, he'll always be on the upside of things.

Fortitude: Although Hynes can be a huge wimp, he doesn't hesitate to stand up for what he thinks is right. He's a strong believer in justice, and he hates seeing that dream being broken so easily. Even under intense pressure, he'll fight for what's right. 

Flaws:

Flirtatious: To put it simply, Hynes is a flirt. He loves having women around the tips of his fingers. He doesn't think that anything is wrong with his behaviour, but most people think otherwise.

Egotistical: Hynes is full of himself. Really full of himself. There's nothing he loves more than talking about him and his stories. And if a few details are - you know - exaggerated a tad during the process, that's just a part of the game, baby! When the silence becomes too much to bear, you can count on Hynes to break the quiet. 

Stubborn: Hynes sets his views out very clearly, and he doesn't like walking away from them. He's not really one to give up once he's set his mind to something. He also has a weird thing with being told what to do - and will usually do the opposite, just to spite the person.
