Buff used: spyglass (-5 posts for familiar search.)

Mina had arrived in snowfrost in search of an NPC that talked of familiars and various ways to tame them. She was cold, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Her cloak prevented her from feeling too cold as well, so she did have that going for her. She eventually managed to find the old woman, and listened to her spiel about finding a familiar and taming it using food. She remembered her words quite well from the first time that she had done the quest to find Akame. She was certainly looking forward to searching for a new pet. She smiled quietly, before leaving the town with the familiar treats within her inventory. Mina made her way over to the snowy forest, before leaping into one of the many trees, and vanishing from sight. She had arrived during the later hours of the day, leading to her having to complete the search at night for the most part. Not that she really minded given that she hardly ever slept to begin with... At least it would keep her busy, she reasoned

Mina was leaping through the different trees trying to find a suitable familiar. She knew that there was a low chance of herself being able to find the familiar straight away was rather slim, but that was beside the point. she wanted to try to get her familiar quickly, and before she had to get prepared for becoming a Tier two player. as she continued forward, she managed to snag a material that was hanging off of a branch, smiling as she did so. "Mou, that was easier than I thought it would be." she said dryly, shoving the material into her inventory, and continuing on her trek through the trees, whooping as she lept through the branches. The snowy landscape was large, and seemed to glow with a bluish, purple light from the morning sun shining over the ice and snow. She was looking forward to being able to get a familiar again, something that she fully wished to get ever since Akame had been killed.

mina dug her hands into the soft snow on the floor, searching for something that could be used as a type of material. She was actually rather hopeful in that regard, as her new skill made it easier to spot various types of materials hidden nearby. she loved the skill in all honesty, especially regarding the fact that she was able to use it to find things that she didn't see all too well. as she was thinking about it, she realized that there was a metallic glint within the snow that was tinted a bluish color. she hastily found herself digging around in the snow in order to grab the item, before shoving it into her inventory. This made the second one that she had found nearby, a faint smile had crossed her face at the realization that she was getting better and better at finding things. Maybe, just maybe she'd be able to get to where Domarus, Itzal, Hestia, Morg, Where Everyone was. It was what she desperately wanted, and aimed to achieve as soon as she could. Perhaps before the floor 25 boss? Hopefully she could make it into it. It would be a stretch, and she would need to level up to level 31 or 32 at LEAST in order to participate. Floor bosses were so much stronger than the labyrinth guardians, and even just regular quest bosses. They were also frightening, at least from what she was understanding.

Mina realized dimly that the sun had actually started to rise, and was slowly brightening the dark forest. her eyes went wide with awe at the sight. she hadn't seen something this pretty since she had visited Denali with her friends. It was a beautiful sight to behold, especially if you were watching the sunrise from the top of a mountain. This... this reminded her of what she missed in the real world. She watched the sunrise, a tired smile on her face as she looked around. the frosty plains were sparkling, and the trees seemed to glisten with light as the sun dyed the entire area with a deep purple, red, and golden yellow light. she smiled, a grin breaking out across her face as she noticed a material peeking out from underneath the snow. she easily snatched it up, collecting the item. it was an elegant crystalline object that looked like it would enhance any kind of salve or potion it was placed into. She quickly sent it into her inventory, the item vanishing from her hand.

Mina smiled tiredly, a happy thought flashing through her mind. It was of the idea that she was able to travel around to different places that reminded her of home. of where she lived before now. she dashed forward, bobbing and weaving her way through the trees, and she saw a giant boulder in front of her. she smirked, and sped up a bit more, before using her momentum to vault herself over the large boulder, causing her to free-fall for a few moments, before landing in a shoulder roll on the other side of it. It wasn't a difficult feat, especially given how much training she'd had in parkour and rock climbing. Vaulting over a 9 foot tall rock and landing safely was actually one of the easiest things she'd done as  of late. It was mildly depressing after she realized that she was in actual danger every day she was out of the safe zone. It was just part of the game, part of a lethal dance that everyone was a part of at this point. It hurt to realize that she had to fight desperately to get out of this world, alongside all of her friends, but it wasn't that big of a deal now, she guessed. She would claw her way up to where they were, no matter what it took for her to do so.

Mina's dark red eyes gleamed with excitement. She had found a perfect place to practice her parkour skills, and it was in a place near this floors lake. there were a group of large, and elegant pine trees with wide, arching branches that made it unlikely for her to fall from them. She immediately lept into the first tree, sprinting up the side of it, and using the branches as leverage to leap around. eventually, she took a leap of faith, and jumped into the bough of one of the other trees, and continuing her whirling, blinding training through the branches. It was nearly daybreak, and the warmth of the sun was slowly starting to wake the entire floor. She kept moving through the branches, her eyes narrowed with determination. she wanted to reach the top of one of the trees, no matter how long it took her. She used to climb trees whenever she was bored in the real world, and it was no different in this world.

Her breath was coming out in heavy pants now. She had finally reached the top of the tree just as dawn erupted across the floor, and the sun began to peek out. Her eyes went wide with awe at the gorgeous sight, before her heart began to ache with pain. Not a physical pain, no. You couldn't feel true, physical pain here. this pain, was from emotion. she felt tears prick her eyes briefly as she watched the sun slowly begin to rise in the virtual sky, slowly dyeing the snow to it's clear, and snowy white, while the lake turned the same Azure blue as the sky was becoming. She rubbed her eyes a bit, a smile breaking across her face. "Mou... how... how beautiful...!" she cried out, her voice echoing out a little. she slowly began to start laughing, and eventually threw both of her arms out, smiling in excitement. "I'm on top of the world!!" she shouted, a smile on  her face despite the tears.

Mina stood at the top of the trees for several minutes, watching the sky slowly grow brighter and brighter. she eventually saw the cloud formations that were surrounding the morning sky. She eventually sat down on a branch that was a little bit lower, and kept watching the morning slowly arrive. She eyed a few of the flying monsters in the sky floating somewhat near to where she was. she swatted at one that got too close to her with her rapier, and the small creature shattered after releasing a quiet shriek. It obviously was too close for her comfort, making her concerned for her safety somewhat. Eventually she got bored with where she was sitting. too bored.... She dimly realized that this is why she never found herself content to sit still for too long. It bothered her. It bothered her Really bad. she suddenly found herself grinning. She lept out of the tree, her cloak flying around her as she fell, a whoop escaping her throat.

mina landed in a drift of snow, laughing. She managed to snag a material she'd spotted in the top of the snow. She had landed spread eagle, and was almost laughing hysterically. She knew that a fall like that would've killed her in the real world. Here though, it was just a small fall for her digital body. It wasn't that big of a deal, she realized. All this was, she thought, was just a way to relieve stress. It was also a way to have fun. lots of it. she began running through the snow again, smiling at the sight of snow glimmering in the morning light. It was absolutely gorgeous, and she knew it was something that she'd likely never be able to enjoy in the real world. It would have given her hypothermia with her only wearing what she was right now. a light cloak, a thin tee shirt (Granted, she was wearing a sleeveless turtleneck over it, but still), and black jeans with holes in them. She knew she'd make herself sick if she went out in the winter like this.

mina lept up a tree, easily managing to hook her fingers around each branch to climb. She had gotten even better than she'd been before, even from what she had learned from watching Itzal. She supposed that she might get better than him one day, but it was... kinda unlikely at this point. She got the feeling that she would never catch up to him fully, like he was out of reach from her for some reason. It bothered her deeply. almost to the point that she didn't want to try and catch up, and instead just try to support him from the sidelines. It was a decent approach to say the least... that is, if she wanted to be utterly useless. It was a painful way to look at everything, but it was certainly how she felt. She pulled out an ornate spyglass to search for the familiar, frowning when she couldn't see anything that caught her eyes.

Mina sighed tiredly when she realized that she wasn't gonna find the familiar just yet. the sun was now fully up, and had bathed the entire area in a warm, golden glow. she was sitting in the tree that she had climbed up into in order to search for the familiar that had yet to show itself. It was somewhat worrying, sure, but she wasn't annoyed in the slightest. It was just taking a bit for her to catch sight of one. It was really not the biggest deal that she couldn't find them straight away. the idea behind this quest was that it could easily take a while, and it was actually kinda fun to search for familiars in different parts of the floors. Besides, if she wanted to she could just message Rosario, and she could come by and mess around with her if she wanted her to. In fact, she might just do that later today.

Mina's eyes eventually managed to spot another material, this time a brilliant, icy blue fruit that gave off a sky blue light. She closed her eyes, bracing herself for a moment, before launching herself into the air to grasp one of the tree branches nearby the fruit. She snatched her hand out to the side, ripping it free from the tree branch it was attached to. She carefully bobbed and weaved through the various boughs and tree branches as she fell, managing to keep herself from taking damage from falling out of a nearly 15 foot tall tree, which would normally deal a chunk of damage that would typically seriously injure most weaker players. Thankfully, she managed to reach the ground with no injuries, and still clutching the fruit in one of her hands. She carefully inspected it, and found it to be to her liking. Maybe it would work good in one of her potions that helped with status ailments, though she supposed that it might work for the toxic venom salves that she made every so often.

She continued trekking around the forest, barely tiring from exploring for nearly three hours. She had decided to jump back into the trees, not wanting to get attacked by the monsters that were lurking around in the forest. her weapon was still at the ready, and able to be drawn at any moment if she needed to defeat a monster that she had accidentally drawn the aggro of. However, she didn't come here to go and kill monsters repeatedly, she came here to tame herself a brand new familiar. Her movements sped up as she felt her mind whisper encouragement for her to keep going onward through the forest. Eventually she had reached a clearing that was filled with Icy plants that gave off a faint blue aura as she walked past them. They were absolutely beautiful, and were certainly something that she was happy to look at, and glad that she had been able to see.

She carefully trekked around the field, the elegant wintry plants that were scattered around the field were dyeing the whole area a bright, frosty blue. Her own appearance seemed to have been slightly altered by the color that was emanating from the entirety of the area. She had a look of awe on her face as she walked around, the whole field had elegant frost flowers, brush, shrubs, and various other plants. She gently ran her hand over the plants as she walked around the field, awed over the construction and sheer beauty of their design. Her eyes glanced over the rest of the field, before she climbed back into one of the nearby trees, and started to move forward through the forest. Her arms deftly caught branch after branch, and her feet easily gripped the seemingly slick branches as she continued to move as fast as she could through them.

Mina began to go into her memories as she ran through the tree branches. She thought back to her life in the real world when she was often going on mountain trips to go and relax among her friends and family. She'd climbed all the way through to the top of the forest along with several of her good friends who were actually willing to travel the long distance to the summit. She had seen the tops of forests, various mountainside attractions, resort destinations, and beautiful frosty villages. She was more than willing to travel as far as she could to meet with her friends. The trips often lasted until late in the day, and she ended up needing to travel a considerable distance just to reach where she'd be staying for the night there. She'd nearly taken a tumble down a cliff in the Himalayas, and often visited some of her European friends while she was there.

It certainly wouldn't prevent her from reaching her goals though, she thought as she snatched up a small fruit from another one of the tree branches. When she was younger, she had the goal to climb any mountain and cross every obstacle in her life that she was capable of crossing and defeating. So far, she had been mostly successful, aside from the obvious one that stemmed from her friend dying from his injuries in her arms, and the accident that took away half of her vision in the real world. She still had the vicious nightmares that accompanied the both of them. Sometimes it was of her being pinned underneath a truck while she was ignored and left behind by the police. sometimes when she was forced to watch as her friends were shot dead in front of her, leaving her with nothing to be able to do to stop whoever did it, leaving her screaming until her voice was raw and weak from the sounds. The worst ones were when she was painted in them as the one who actually did the killing, with her nightmare form taunting and teasing her as they slaughtered her friends one by one.

She shook her head vehemently, trying to clear it of the painful thoughts, her eyes darkening slightly as she continued to move forward. She quivered slightly, pain in her eyes as she kept moving. She snatched up yet another fruit as she moved past the tree, ignoring anything else that might have spotted as she was distracted within her own mind. her facial expression changed to more of a dull, lifeless one, her eyes losing their spark within mere seconds. she closed her eyes as they slowly started to flood with tears. She bit her lip, trembling more and more as she kept moving. It hurt when she got like this, it hurt to the point of her feeling the dull feeling seep through her entire body, crushing her until she couldn't think of anything else without hurting herself in the process. She hated it when this happened, it made her feel so... weak.

Her eyes scanned over the area, searching for more materials that she could place in her inventory. She needed to keep up a healthy stock of them for the newer players in case they actually needed them. Now that she actually thought of it though, she probably needed to work her butt off just to get up a decent stock of the stupid things. She finally managed to spot a beautiful snowy white flower that was growing on the side of one of the nearby trees. she carefully took out a bucknife dagger, cutting into the vines securing it to the tree, before it fell into her hands, allowing her to easily catch it. She walked forward to the other part of the forest, easily managing to place it into her inventory without any kind of issues occurring during this entire exchange, and letting her collect it, bumping the materials that she'd found up to 9 materials. She carefully inspected the different materials, which consisted of various fruits, crystals, and now flowers.

She gently sawed off another flower from a different tree, this one a beautiful dark blue, with cerulean blue highlights along the petals of the flower petals, and lime green highlights on some of the leaves, which were a nice evergreen color aside from the highlights. She placed it into her inventory, smiling faintly. She had just boosted her material count up to ten just from her searching during the free time that she had in between searching for her familiar, and travelling through the trees. She knew that it was probably going to be a few more hours before she managed to get ahold of her familiar, so she planned to keep on searching whenever she could. The weapon on her hip bounced around a bit while she traveled through the trees with leaps and swings, going as fast as she could from branch to branch as she didn't want to waste too much time, otherwise she'd probably get yelled at by Rosa for being late to her "Potluck" of sorts.

A few minutes later, she jerked awake when a timer that she had set went off, denoting the fact that she could search for a familiar again. she opened her senses to try and look for one, a somewhat pleading line of thoughts running through her mind as she did so. She carefully adjusted her search, searching for several more minutes, before her shoulders slumped down, and a sad look crossed her face. She couldn't find it. She let out a sigh, before moving forward, a tired look on her face. She climbed back into one of the trees, and continued to run through them, not giving up hope to find the little familiar that she was looking forward to seeing again. She was excited to find her little friend for the first time in forever.
