Floor Seventeen, where everything reminded you of the Hercules movie by Disney Studios. Not that that was a bad thing. Bahr had once considered getting himself some property on this floor, but had decided against it when a particularly cozy home on Floor Ten caught his eye. Now he woke up in a cold sweat once every couple weeks due to that infernal screeching Banshee. Live and learn, he supposed.

But that wasn't what today was about. Today Bahr was waiting around the town square, hoping that Goat Doofus, the satyr that had accosted him before, would show up again. For some reason, he found himself really wanting to go to Olympia again. Not because of Aphrodite, of course, as that would just be infantile. No, there was just a part of him that desperately wanted to get off of Aincrad for awhile. Things hadn't exactly been going to plan as of late, and he wanted some time away.

So there he sat, idly kicking the heels of his boots against the brick ledge he had planted himself upon, nonchalantly watching the people shambling around as though they had nowhere to be or any purpose-driven movement to be heard of. It had been a few hours, but still no siting of the satyr. Had everyone in Aincrad gotten their professions already?

Zandra let out a long yawn as she sat up in doublebed. She looked to the left, a deep sigh as it was still empty. She left the bed and went to the bathroom where she entered the shower like every morning. She started planning her day as her long, black hair got soaked and warm waterdrops rolled down her skin. She opened up her menu and started swiping. After awhile she got to the list of t2 players. She started scrolling down, then up, sometimes stopping and read more information about some of them. "Hmm, I think I pick Bahr today." she said. Wrote a quick mail before leaving the bathroom. She went to the window and looked at the sea with the rising sun until she herd a pling. She red the mail before sending back a few hundred cols to the info breaker."I see, so he is on floor seventeen. She equipped her casual clothes. A red hood with an attached scarf, a black t shirt, a red skirt with suspenders and a pair of brown leather boots." Zita, time to get to work!" she said as she left her estate and went to floor seventeen.
She looked at the mail again and after short time she saw him, she guessed. She walked up to him, cleared her throath to get his attention. "Ehem, excuse me. Im looking for someone named Bahr. Do you know where I can find him?" she said with a friendly smile and polite voice.

As someone new entered the town square, Bahr's eyebrows furrowed as he focused on her. With any luck, she had received the message telling her to head to Floor Seventeen and meet up with the satyr. But after a few moments and no Goat Doofus showing up, he sighed and allowed his body to fall back, plopping onto the platform and covering his eyes with one of his forearms. He was probably being silly about the whole thing. Sure, it would be nice to take a vacation day away from Aincrad, but who was he kidding? It wasn't every day that someone went to Olympia, and even if it was more common, it wasn't like Goat Doofus was going to allow him entry anymore. He was just going to have to accept that that one time in Olympia was the only time he would truly-

"Ehem, excuse me. I'm looking for someone named Bahr. Do you know where I can find him?" a feminine voice softly inquired, stirring Bahr from his internal monologue. He sat up to see none other than the woman who had just entered the square looking at him with her big crimson eyes. Black hair fell neatly over one of them, the other staring into his own crimson and verdant hues with a focus he wasn't accustomed to. He blinked, then leaned in a little closer. Do I know this girl? he thought to himself, She seems eerily familiar. Could it be..? No. There's no way.

"Well, you found him," he responded gruffly, hopping off of the ledge with a sigh. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" he inquired, his eyes shifting over her shoulder as he did. There he saw the satyr, accosting some noob with his stupid face and stupid clipboard. The goat-human hybrid escorted the youth through a portal before looking back at Bahr and giving him a rather rude gesture. The Crimson Marauder's brows furrowed once more as he gave the satyr a dirty look before it disappeared into the portal and it blinked out of existence. Damnit...

It seemed like she found the correct person on the first try. A happy face as she reached her hand forward to him. "Nice, got the right man on the first try. My name is Zandra. I wonder if you are busy or if I could have a talk with you abo..." she saw the man looking at something behind her. "huh?" she said as she did as well. There was a satyr that, seemed to look at them before it disapeared. "Oh, was you waiting for him?" it was a mythological creature so it must be an NPC. "I apologise, was it a part of a quest?" she felt a bit awkward and scratched her neck. It must have been for a quest. Zandra had never herd of a player and NPC having any kind of relationship. She looked at the man with an apologising look as she waited for his reply.

When she looked back toward Bahr, she would find a completely awestruck expression staring back at her. His mouth agape, he slowly reached his shaky hand forward and grabbed a hold of her hand. He shook it slowly for what seemed like ages, the same stupid expression plastered over his visage. By this point, he had all but forgotten about the stupid satyr and its rude gesture. One hundred percent of his focus was directed at the woman in front of him.

He took a deep breath and a gulp before managing, "N-no way..." The crimson eyes. The black hair. The petite and attractive frame. There was no mistaking it. This was the real Zandra. Coral hues flushed into his cheeks as he realized he had been holding her hand for too long, and he quickly retracted it, putting both of his hands up defensively. "N-no! I should be the one apologizing!" But what for? Why would he need to apologize? "F-for holding your h-hand so awkwardly!" Great. Now he had drawn attention to it and made everything even more awkward.

One of his hands reached for the back of his neck, which he rubbed nervously. "I've seriously been a fan of yours for, like, years," he uttered, the pressure of the awkwardness becoming even more apparent as he did. "I-I mean, uh... Well I mean look at you! You're one of the most badass fighters on the Frontlines!" he effused excitedly, leaning forward and placing both hands on his hips. "I just... Uh, I guess I just didn't expect you to look like this in person, is all."

Then, the actions took a complete turn and in a way Zandra have never expected. He grabbed her hand a shoke it slowly, longer then a normal handshake. Then he said he should be the one apologising. But why? As he said the reason her eyebrow rose in surprise. Did he just apologised for holding her hand?" Zandra gulped and felt a bit uncomfortable as how the man was looking at her. What he said next made her pale skin get a matching colour to her eyes and she took two steps back, keeping her eyes on the man. A fan? Why would anyone be a fan of her? She stopped and stared at him with an angry shade in her eyes. Badass figther? Was he mocking her? She did know about her, problem. Was he thinking it was something she thougth was funny? She putted it away for now, she had a reason she was looking for Bahr. "Ehm, a fan? Why the f*ck would someone be a fan of me?!" she said and placed her hand on her chest. "I know my problem, no need to remind me. So can we just drop that?" she said with a little bit anger in her voice. "There is something I need to talk to you about. Do you have time or not?" she finished of, looking into his eyes.

Oh crap. He had made her mad. Oh crap oh crap oh-

"P-problem? What problem? There's no problem here!" he exclaimed defensively, taking a step back himself. "I only meant to say that you're a lot more attractive in person than what I had seen in the articles. T-that's all." Every time he had seen her in one of the Frontlines newsletters he received from his his info broker, she had been wearing full plate armor. Seeing her in casual clothing was something new to Bahr. "And I'm a fan because, er-... Uh-... Well, my info broker gives me information about the Frontlines from time to time..." His voice trailed off. There was really no reason to full explain it. If she could figure out the rest from there, great. If not, well, Bahr was screwed anyways.

"Anyways, my schedule is totally open. What do you need?" he inquired, doing his best to salvage what he could of the conversation. It was clear he was pissing her off, which stung a little. He had never imagined he would get on the bad side of someone he practically idolized.

It sounded like Bahr didnt knew about her condition. He was actually a fan of her. And his weird behavior was coming partly from thinking she was attractive. That was when she realised she had bursted up against him, for no reason. She felt mean and wondered how she would repair this in the best way possible. It was obvious he was nervous and probably regretted some of his actions, or well, at least the handshake. Her anger calmed down and the friendly smile apeared on her lips again, her skin colour have returned to normal, except a faint blush from his comment about her look.

Zandra cleared her throath. "Ehm, this went a bit, caotic introduction. If it is okay for you I would like to restart." she just hoped for Bahr to agree, or she would look very silly. "Hello Bahr, nice to meet you. Im Zandra and I wonder if you have some spare time for a talk." a short pause before she continued. "I know a great cafe just around the corner." she said and slowly started to go towards the cafe.

At the softening of her expression and the suggestion that they simply start over, Bahr nodded eagerly. "Right, sounds good. Nice to meet you, Zandra. Cafe sounds great, let's go," he remarked as he started along behind her, a bit of a pep in his step as he sauntered along. A trip to the cafe with none other than Zandra, the Berserk Healer. Not really how I expected my day to turn our, but I'm not going to complain, he thought to himself as he kept a close distance to her. Though, hopefully not too close. He had already suffered enough embarrassing blunders for the day.

As they entered the cafe and took a seat at one of the several tables strewn about, an NPC waitress approach them with a pen and pad ready.

"Welcome to Gods' Hollow, the finest cafe on the Seventeenth Floor! I'm Jess, and I'll be your server today. What can I get started for you?" the youth inquired cutely, a relatively convincing act for an NPC

For this interaction, Bahr decided to take a note out of Lessa's book and actually be polite to an NPC for once, as opposed to his usual gruff demeanor and constant interruptions. Wouldn't be good to piss off Zandra any more than he already had. "Sure, thank you. I'll start out with just a coffee. Blonde roast, black." He then looked toward Zandra expectantly, curious what her tastes in beverages were.

Zandra felt an invisible sigh of relief as the man played along with the restart. They walked to the cafe in silence, Zandra thinking of how she would tell him. She had already told it to a few other players. But each player is different and unique and should be aproached in their own way. When they sat down, a kingseagle landed beside Zandras chair. She waited for Bahr to order his stuff, a coffee. 'so he is a coffee drinker' she thougth and made a small nod. "a blueberry pie and a cup of cold choclate." she said without even a glance at the menu.

She patted the feathered predator on her head. "Bahr, this is Zita. She is my familiar and is very kind and dont worry, she wont bite." she said and then added mumbling "most of the time." The eagle turned her her head towards him. She stood there, totally still. Her sharp eyes, that could spot a rabbit from a thousand meter, was inspecting him. After a few seconds she turned back to Zandra in a gesture like she was accepting him, for now.

... Cold Chocolate? What the hell is cold chocolate? Bahr thought to himself as he heard her order. Cold chocolate. Cold. Chocolate. The words continued to play on repeat in his mind, swimming around as he did his best to decipher their meaning. Was it a cultural thing? He had only ever heard of hot chocolate where he came from.

He didn't react when her familiar approached the table alongside her. Swine Bajesus popped its tiny head out of his inner coat pocket for a moment, but as soon as it saw the overgrown predator sitting across from it, it hastily scurried back into the safety of Bahr's light armor. "Cool - haven't seen one of those before. This is Swine Bajesus. He's, uh, a little timid around other familiars. Just a boar that has some sort of glitch that prevents growth, so it will stay in its baby size forever," Bahr chuckled, reaching into his inner coat pcoket and giving the small creature a light pat on the head.

"So. What is it that you needed to talk to me about?"

Zandra giggled as Bahr chukled when he told her about and showed her his familiar. A baby boar. "Hihi. Naaaw, so cute." then she stared at Zita for a few seconds. "That is not dinner!" she said in an ordering voice. The eagle rolled her eyes and started looking at the other guests.
Their orders arrived and Zandra took a small chew of the cake and took a sip of the choclate milk that she in her language actually said cold choclate. "Well, I dont know if you know about it but the floor boss fights are getting harder and harder. So far we have been able to clear them with very few losses. Thou I habe a feeling next floor wont be so forgiving. Since we habe runned in with almost totally random parties. some very, very underleveled." she took a short paus before she continued. "From now on, we need people that are strong and that we can trust they show up. So now Im scouting the tier two, looking for players that would agree on joining us to defeat this game of death. We are willing to help you with as much as we can. In gear, col, materials, quest support and so on."

Enthusiasm danced across Bahr's eyes as she laid the proposal out on the table. He slowly raised the cup of coffee that the waitress had delivered to his lips and took a long, deliberate sip. His eyes didn't leave the woman sitting across from him the entire time.

"Interesting. And why me?" he inquired as he gingerly set the cup back on the table, eyes sharpening a bit. His mind hearkened back to his encounter with Pinball not too long ago, in which the twisted youth had mentioned that people were "talking" about Bahr and his quick rise through the ranks. He wasn't sure how true this could be, and didn't intend to appear smug and arrogant by assuming that Zandra was reaching out to him because he was particularly impressive. It could have simply been that she just picked his name out of a list and went to go track him down.

While the latter possibility was disappointing, he needed to know. Or did he.

"Actually, don't worry about it," he sighed while waving his hand, dismissing his own curiosity. "I'm all in. You'll see me ready for the Frontlines in no time."

Zandra looked at the man infront of her with a surprised look on her face. ‘’What? You think I wanted to see you to help you and recruit you for the frontlines? Why would I do that?’’ she asked and looked at him serious. What did this man thinked? That they would want him among their ranks. ‘’The frontlines is a dangerous place, not a place for anyone to think they can just walk to and join just because they want to.’’ She wondered what he was thinking about what she had just said, was he still planning to come and join their ranks or would he maybe change his mind and stay down in town of beginning and slowly rot away when doing nothing at all. Her mouth smiled for half a moment before she forced on a serious look and took another sip of the sweet milk choclate and a chew of the blueberry pie.

A perplexed look crossed Bahr's face as she spoke. It seemed that she had just pulled a complete one-eighty, first offering him help to reach the Frontlines, then retracting that statement and feigning confusion that Bahr showed interest. After a moment, the perplexity faded away and was replaced by an amused grin. He took another sip of his coffee.

Ah, I see. It's a test.

He carefully sat his cup down on the table and looked her in the eye, same grin from before. ""From now on, we need people that are strong and that we can trust they show up. So now I'm scouting the tier two, looking for players that would agree on joining us to defeat this game of death. We are willing to help you with as much as we can. In gear, col, materials, quest support and so on.' These are your words. Are you telling me that wasn't an invitation to the Frontlines?"

He rose the cup to his lips again, but stopped.

"I don't care that the Frontlines are dangerous. I know that. It's why I need to go, in fact. So others don't have to."

After he explained himself, he took a thoughtful sip of the coffee, savoring the bitter liquid as it rolled across his tongue and inevitably slid down the back of his throat. He ould wait for her response before saying anything else. If she was trying to goad him into an emotional response, he wouldn't allow it.

Zandra kept her eyes locked on Bahr, almost like she was interviewing him for a new job. She listened to what he had to say with a neutral face. His response made her a little disappointed. She had hoped for something like nervousness, emberresment. Maybe an apology. But nope, he replied just like a true anime or movie hero would have. He wasn’t only a strong player, he had something that would motivate him. That way she and everyone else could be sure he would show up.

Zandra took one last chew of the cake before she rose. ‘’Its all yours.’’ She said to the kingseagle that immedialty flied down and started pekking in the cake. ‘’That is true, Bahr.’’ She said and paused before she continued. ‘’That was an invitation to you. And I see that you have accepted it now. So what do you say about we go and clear some quests? I would like to see how good we will be able to fight together. You ready?’’ she finished with a friendly smile to the young man.

It seemed that Bahr had predicted Zandra's intentions correctly, but she didn't exactly seem pleased about it. Disappointment cast itself upon her slightly protruded lower lip as she took a final bite of her cake, dismissing the plate and rising to her feet. Bahr remained seated for a moment, eyes carefully tracing her movements as he took another sip from his mug. Seemed she was already ready to go.

"That is true, Bahr. That was an invitation to you. And I see that you have accepted it now. So what do you say about we go and clear some quests? I would like to see how good we will be able to fight together. You ready?’’

A bit forward. But Bahr was never the sort to turn down a bit of questing, and his coffee was almost gone anyways. He chugged the remainder of the bitter liquid and stood as well, adjusting the collar of his crimson coat and casting a smile Zandra's direction. "Sure. Haven't killed anything all day. Let's get to it."

Bahr's boots clomped loudly against the brick road as they approached the palace in stark contrast to the deafening quiet that surrounded them. Usually you would expect to hear the sound of nature at this hour - birds chirping, grass rustling, leaves scraping together in a roaring cacophony in protest to the wind. No such sounds permeated the expanse.

"I've heard that if we get an audience with the Queen, she'll give us a quest. Something about lions. I'm not really sure, my info broker didn't give me as much intel as I had hoped."

A brief moment of silence.

"I've been sitting on this quest for quite awhile. I'm excited to get it out of the way. Have you don it yet?"

Zandra let out a short giggle. He hadn’t killed anything today and seemed to not like that, he had just the same feeling she had. A day without killing was a day missing something. Would it turn out this man is a male version of herself? Will be fun to find out what kind of fighter he is as well.

Zandra listened to Bahr as he mentioned they needed an audience to the queen to get a quest. A smile had been on her lips until she herd him mention it was something about lions. Her mind suddenly went to a special lioness, someone she haven’t thought of for a long time. Her face turned sad for a few seconds. Why did Ari poped up in her thoughts now? No, this wasn’t the time to think about that, she was with Bahr now, couldn’t waste time thinking of history. She forced on a glad looking face as she looked a Bahr and slightly shoke her head. ‘’Nope, I haven’t done it. To be totally honest, I didn’t knew about any lion quest at all. Hehe. So since you know at least some stuff about it, I guess you will be the leader.’’ She said and gave him a friendly smile.

He offered her a simple nod. "Yeah, alright. You've got it." Something seemed fake about her smile, but Bahr found it best not to prod. He was sure that if she had something to share, she wouldn't be putting on such an obvious facade. In the effort of maintaining their forward momentum, Bahr shifted his gaze forward and began walking toward the castle.

It was unbelievably easy to be let in. They didn't even need to ask. The guards simply saw them approaching, rolled their eyes, and opened the massive door. Bahr was more than happy to oblige them and press on without saying a word. When they entered the throne room, they were graced with an absolutely breathtaking sight. A gigantic ornate hall decorated with various banners, artifacts, and memorabilia. Pure marble flooring with golden accents paved their way to the queen, a striking red carpet showing the way. Atop the pedestal stood two thrones, one empty, and the other with the queen comfortably at her seat.

"Greetings, travelers," the queen remarked graciously, looking the two over. "What brings you to my palace on a day like today?"

"We have heard that there is a monster that plagues your land, Your Majesty," Bahr began, "We have come to offer our aid in destroying it."

"Ah, yes. The Nemean Lion. A beast as old as time. It skulks our lands, kidnapping beautiful women that are never seen again. If you really mean to do the impossible and slay the immortal, bring back its hide for me. It shall lay draped across my throne as a symbol of our impervious rule. Be wary, however, as the beast's claws are sharper than mortals' swords, and would cut through any armor."

Bahr gave the queen a stiff nod and turned his attention back to Zandra.

"An impossibly tough immortal beast that steals away beautiful women. Guess it hasn't come after you because it knows better than to mess with something stronger than itself." He accented the mild flirtation with a goofy grin, motioning for the door that they had come through with his head. "Come on - let's go kill a cat."

The man took the leader role without any seconds thought. That was good, you need to be confident in yourself in the frontlines since lately the bosses seems to use tricks like manipulating in all kinds of ways. Here, they didn’t had to worry about that.

As the two adventurers walked into the big castle Zandra got amazed by the sight. ‘’Woooow!’’ she said as she looked in the impressive hall that was the home to the queen NPC. As they got close to the queen, she started talking, and as the elader, Bahr answered her question. As she listened to the quest giver, her eyes went back and forth between her and the empty seat beside her. It would be pretty cool to sit on a throne, specially in a hall like this. Feeling like a queen. But maybe not, there was already a queen here. But Bahr could do it, and be a king. But no, not playtime now, first they needed to kill a lion.

Zandra didn’t knew if Bahr was serious as he threw her a flirty comment about the lion not being after her because it didn’t went after someone stronger then itself. Anyway, a blush grew on her cheeks. ‘’Eh, hehe. I think it is more like Im not beautiful enough.’’ She said and scratched her neck. ‘’But anyway, lets go kill this kitten that call himself immortal.’’
