Oscar was angrier than he probably had any right to be about the lack of hot dogs within this carnival. He furiously scarfed down a Funnel Cake, watching as the buff icon appeared on his status bar. They would pay for this disgrace with their lives. Who was 'they?' Oscar didn't know who was ultimately responsible for this foolish decision. But the zombies pouring into the tent would make for great targets to vent his frustrations. He drew Yukianesa from her scabbard and slowly stalked towards the encroaching horde. He could use some time to blow off some steam anyway. After all was said and done, some catharsis would be just what the doctor ordered. And if this was anything like those old cheesy horror games, he was in for exactly that.

Infuriated, Oscar waded into the grasping hands and gnashing teeth of the zombies. Their bark was worse than their bite. The moans of the wailing host filled the night air, striking terror into the hearts of men. But Oscar was no ordinary man. He was the hot dog man. And he would mete out justice for the neglected wieners. For after all, they could not defend themselves. His blade struck like lightning, singling out four of the zombies that had surrounded him. Though, in so doing, Oscar got distracted and one of the zombies sank their teeth into his shoulder. He shook the shambling corpse off of him and shoved it away. Despite their sluggish movements, the creatures certainly packed a punch. He saw his health bar get torpedoed in just a single hit. He would need to make certain in the future that he didn't get hit anymore.

Oscar dipped and dodged between the lunging undead. It was odd. They shambled up so slowly. However, once they got into striking distance, the struck like snakes. The variance in their speed made them more formidable than the enemies Oscar was accustomed to fighting. He was on the defensive, taking the time to examine their patterns. Their sudden speed boosts seemed to be tied to proximity. He could use that. He maneuvered in such a way that he was able to trigger the lunge from the four he was fighting all at the same time. Then, he punished them. His blade sliced through the air with murderous intent, tracing a purple line in its wake. He carved through their numbers, even managing to get a kill on one of them. It shattered like glass, leaving Oscar with three targets in front of him and hundreds at his back. Fun.

Using what he had learned from the last battle, Oscar was able to fight a bit more safely. He gave the zombies a wide berth, his limber form able to easily keep out of their reach. Honestly, it was slow going. He couldn't very well lean into it too hard. Over the din of combat, Oscar could have sworn that he saw a flash of red. Was Bahr here? Oscar would be surprised if he wasn't. Perhaps he could fight his way through the horde and eventually back his friend up. Though wading through a sea of corpses wasn't exactly ideal. But if he played his cards right, he could pull it off. It would just take time. Just then, the red-garbed man came sliding by, with his own string of zombies close behind.

"What's up buddy?" Oscar said. It was about all he had time to get out before his own problems came gunning for him. He twirled off to the side, losing sight of Bahr in the chaos again. His blade carved through the air, slicing through each of the zombies. Two shattered like glass, but the final zombie endured. Something allowed it to endure Oscar's strike. Now he was really irritated. First there were no hot dogs. Now, the enemies weren't dying when they were supposed to.

Basic Attack to Zombie4 ID: 125024 BD8+3 Deal 1 DMG

Zombie4 0/200 HP | 100 DMG | 50 MIT

Since the zombie didn't seem to keen on dying, Oscar decided that he was going to have a little fun with it. There was a neat tidbit about the game that didn't exactly translate into real life so well. Everyone was freakishly strong. Even more so than they were in real life. And Oscar wasn't exactly the weakest man outside of the game. Since the zombie didn't seem to keen on dying, he would have to make sure that the lesson took. So, as the hordes closed in on him, he did what any rational, sane person would do. He grabbed that immortal zombie by the ankle and started bludgeoning the others with his undying adversary. Zombies were thrown to and fro as a result of his berserker rage. Blatted about in all directions by one of their own, the zombies sailed over the heads of their comrades. This pushed the line back to give Oscar some breathing room. Eventually, whatever was keeping the zombie alive faded and the creature shattered into a thousand shards in his hands. Oscar hopped back towards the middle of the tent - their only safe zone - and attempted to recover some energy before the monsters were upon him again.

Oscar 531/620 HP | 23/62 EN | 18 DMG | 3 ACC | 3 EVA | 41 MIT

While his energy recovered, the undead really didn't give him any quarter. The shambling masses encroached towards the center of the tent at surprising speed. Realizing that he wouldn't be able to get the breathing room that he needed, Oscar did the only thing that a reasonable person would do: he picked up a nearby chair and started smacking the zombies with it. Taking a cue from the legendary John Cena, Oscar was a whirlwind with that wooden chair. The zombies were smashed to and fro by his relentless barrage with the sitting instrument. It didn't do any damage to them, but it certainly kept them at bay long enough for him to avoid entering combat so his energy could restore. Soon enough, however, the chair broke in his hands, leaving him with only two wooden sticks. He yeeted them at two zombies and the leaped into the rafters. They couldn't reach him up here.

From his perch on the rafters, Oscar was more or less safe from the undead hordes. Unless they brought the tent down around them. It was there, however, that he noticed the tightrope that had been set up a small distance away. So, instead of sitting there like a chump and waiting for his energy to recover, he decided to have a little fun with it. The good thing about being up so high is that he had the perfect vantage point of the battle. While the players tried desperately to hold the hordes back, Oscar could see exactly where the line was breaking and would be able to help out there. So, he climbed up to the top of the platforms where the rope was stretched between and unfastened it. He took one last look at the battle to make sure that his aim wasn't off. Then, he pitched forward, letting gravity and the rope bear him forward unto battle.

Oscar came swinging into the fray like a bat outta hell. The Indiana Jones theme was playing in his head as he neared the hordes once more. His energy was full so he would be able to deal some heavy damage. His feet touched the ground. He released the rope and drew his sword as he skidded towards the zombies. He came to a stop at the exact perfect distance to strike at the shambling corpses. His blade glowed with a purple light as he charged up Amatsu no Homura. His blade whipped around his body thrice in quick succession, carving through the enemies with deadly precision. Except for the two that Oscar missed. He swore under his breath and hopped back just in time to avoid the zombies' uncharacteristically swift lunging. He couldn't believe that after such a cool entrance he still managed to miss half of them. Nevertheless, he was having fun and would continue to do so.

His next swing had been much more precise than he list one. Oscar managed to cleave through their entire ranks this time. He watched as the health bars of the two that he had missed stopped just shy of the red. He groaned in frustration. He had a special hatred for his low AoE potential right now. Just a little more damage and he would be able to kill them in two hits instead of three or four. He danced out of the way of their attacks and planted his feet. With a little luck, he would be able to take down two of them next round, provided that their invulnerability nonsense didn't activate. He'd just have to make sure that he hit them especially hard so that they wouldn't cling to life like the stubborn corpses they were. If they did, then he would just have to use it as another bludgeoning tool to keep the other zombies at bay. As annoying as it was to deal with them, it was kinda funny swinging one around like a club.

After his Amatsu no Homura cleaved through their ranks, only two were left alive. Both were in the red but only one of them clung to life by one HP. Oscar growled as the same creature that had survived sank its fangs into his other shoulder. Enraged, he grabbed the zombie by the head and began to beat the other zombie around with it. Swinging the creature around his head like a sack of flour, Oscar sent other undead flying, keeping their line from further encroaching upon the center of the tent. Once he had grown bored of beating a zombie with another zombie, he sent the one in his hand flying into the other zombie he had been in combat with. They were both bowled over and their limbs entangled with one another. It was quite humorous to watch them try to separate themselves. They couldn't decide between lunging at Oscar or pushing the other away.

In the state they were in, the zombies couldn't do anything to help themselves from Oscar rushing in and cutting them to ribbons with an Amatsu no Homura. One of them shattered, but the other managed to cling to life yet again. Without the other zombie existing, it was no longer entangled and thus was free to lunge at Oscar. But given that it was just prone on the ground, it only had the leverage to shuffle forward a bit. Oscar took a step backward and the creature's snapping jaws missed him by a mile. Oscar delivered a sharp kick to its face and then dipped out of the way of a wall of zombies that came crashing by him. Separated by the wall of flesh, Oscar would need to come up with another plan to reach his target. And that's when he saw it. This was supposed to be a circus after all. Why wouldn't they have one of these?

And there it was. A giant orange and black cannon pointed directly at the horde of zombies. Why hadn't he noticed this sooner? He retreated back to the cannon, his familiar close behind. Without a second thought, he leaped into the barrel feet first and took aim at the zombie. Then, he kicked his foot, which activated the springboard and sent him rocketing out of the barrel like a bullet. He cut straight through the zombie as he passed overhead, causing it to shatter like glass. Then, he performed a somersault, landing feet first on one of the zombies and riding it like a surfboard through the crowd. Of course, this posed a problem. One, he was smack dab in the middle of enemy territory. And two, he was smack dab in the middle of enemy territory with no escape route. Except one, that is. He launched himself straight up into the air and grabbed hold of the rafters. Below, the zombies tried in vain to reach him. He laughed and swung himself up to the top of the rafters before dashing back towards the center of the tent.

Oscar sat down on the wooden slat, swinging his legs as he watched the fighting go on below. He cracked open a soda and began drinking. After one sip, however, he made a disgusted face and almost threw the can. "Diet?! You have got to be kidding me. Just who do I need to complain to in order to rectify this absolute travesty of an event?" Oscar grimaced and shook his head. As much as he hated diet soda, he also needed healing. So, he held his nose and chugged the foul liquid. Once he had drained every last drop, Oscar yeeted the can down below. It smacked a zombie upside the head, getting its attention. With one zombie came others. Not realizing that they couldn't reach him from way down there, they grasp upwards at him, as if their arms would suddenly grow 20 feet and allow them to grasp the Azure Crusader. But, they would not and could not touch him.

Oscar 620/620 HP | 13/62 EN | 18 DMG | 3 ACC | 3 EVA | 41 MIT

In some strange way, Oscar was having quite a bit of fun in this chaos. The fear of death was the furthest thing from his mind as he ran about the carnival, using the props to his benefit. He sat upon the rafters, kicking his feet playfully as he watched the din of combat down below. Everyone was fighting so desperately for their survival, but here Oscar was, watching the fighting from the nosebleeds while sipping on a soda. Even though the carnival had zero taste, Oscar did not. He always kept a selection of plain hot dogs on his person for an occasion in which his delicious meat cylinders were required. So, he decided to snack on one while he waited for his energy to refill. He'd probably go for one more round before taking a longer break. Couldn't very well be expected to fight all night, now could he? Of course that was the expectation of Mister Jack, but he definitely wasn't going to do what that guy wanted.

And so, Oscar hopped down from his perch and rejoined the melee once more. Quick as a flash, his blade was out of its scabbard and dicing through four of the nearest zombies he could reach. Three of them lunged and missed, but one was a little more precise than its peers. It staggered forward, hands grasping at Oscar. At first, he managed to sidestep it. Without Oscar being there to latch onto, the creature fell forward towards the ground. But, as it fell, it shot out one claw that cut deep into Oscar's chest. Clearly, their teeth weren't the only things that he needed to be concerned over. He held the red gash as he took a few steps backward, keeping the undead at bay until the red particle effect on his avatar finally faded. Once that was done, he was ready to go again. This time, he would need to be more careful and make sure they didn't land a hit on him again.

Another Amatsu no Homura flew out. He cleaved through their ranks like butter, even managing to slay one of the zombies with a lucky critical hit. The others lurched around and tried to sink their fangs into Oscar's body. After getting used to their movements, Oscar was able to simply take a few calm steps away to keep the undead far enough that they couldn't touch him. He was beginning to grow a little bored. Unless he was using circus equipment to dispatch these things with some flair, he really didn't care for actually fighting them. They were so slow and while they hit hard, it really didn't make them too much of a threat unless you were an absolute dummy and let them hit you all at once. And Oscar was no dummy. Okay, he was little bit of a dummy. But he wasn't so foolish as to let a bunch of zombies gnaw on him without doing something about it.

For some strange reason, one of the zombies seemed to have some anti-Katana repellant applied to it because Oscar just couldn't hit the damn thing. Two of its peers shattered like glass, leaving Oscar with one measly zombie in front of him. Well, one measly zombie that he was currently in combat with. There were about a million more that still needed to be dealt with. This was only a drop in the bucket compared to the others. Oscar leveled his blade with the creature and stepped to the side as it lunged at him. Truly, dodging a single zombie was much easier than dodging four of them. The creature didn't even come close to grabbing or biting him. Next turn, the zombie would be slain. Notwithstanding any immortality shenanigans, that is. He felt fairly confident that he could hit it hard enough that the invulnerability wouldn't activate and he could go on about his business.

He dropped his sword arts down a notch, instead electing to use a Rank 4 Art. He just didn't see the point in wasting a San Ge on a single zombie. Especially if there was a small chance that it would decide that it didn't want to die and just become invulnerable following the blow. Haku Senpu was much safer. It wouldn't hit his energy bar as hard, thus leaving him with a little in the tank in case the creature did decide that it wanted not to die. Oscar whipped up a gale that sent the zombie flying into one of the support poles for the tent. Thankfully, it would shatter like glass on impact, insuring Oscar was safe and combat was no over. To get away from the ever-encroaching horde, Oscar returned to the rafters and calmly sat down upon the wooden struts. He was feeling like a nap, all things considered. Slaughtering the undead was hard work.

Oscar produced a Diet Soda from his pack and slowly drank it down. It was like ash in his mouth, but his health bar certainly appreciated the attention. Once it was completely drained, he let the can fall onto the head of one of the zombies down below and then stretched out on the wide slat. It was time for some shuteye. At least, it would be if the moans of the undead down below weren't so damn loud. He tried his best to block them out, but to no avail. He sat straight up and scowled. Clearly napping was not on the agenda for tonight. Oh well. He could entertain himself by watching the combat down below. He could see Bahr, trying his best to hit the creatures but failing more than a few times. Then there was the crazy lady, who was holding her own against the zombies despite not having a weapon suited to the task. At least the undead had succeeded in bringing all of his friends, acquaintances, and people who want to stab him together.

He might not have been able to sleep, but he certainly could take his time and enjoy himself. Personally, he found this event to be quite cathartic. There was nothing quite like tearing through hordes of enemies to let one's mind shut off. The brain could use the time off, all things considered. No deep thoughts, no worries. Just the sound of blade on undead flesh. Truly, the event creators had a goal in mind. And that goal was pure, unadulterated carnage. Zombies were dying left and right, but no matter how many the group down below killed, more took their place. It seemed they would be running this gauntlet until morning, one way or another. Which had Oscar wondering what would happen at sunrise. Would there be another part to the event or was this all there was to it? He would be even more personally insulted if there wasn't at least a boss or something to end the event than he was about the hot dogs, if he were being completely honest with himself.
