[F2-PP] <<breaking the unbreakable>> let's try this again (w/Xian)

Recommended Posts

It had been a couple weeks since he had tried doing the quest with Vigilon but they had stopped do to unforseen circumstances and zuekin had put the quest on the back burner for quite some time but today he had decided to try again and finally finish it so he could obtain the skill he needed to carry out his promise "don't worry calrex I'll be there before you know it and then I'll protect them all" he said clenching his fist and setting of to mountain.

By the time he had arrived it was already noon with the sun hanging high in the sky lightning up the rest of the floor for anyone on the mountain to see "wow now thats a view" it always amazed him how beautiful this world was despite its danger. As he made it to the peak the small hut of the old man that resided on the mountain came into view and so did the large imposing boulder that he would have to break before the day was over. As he approached the boulder he noticed another figure next to it but it wasn't the figure of the old sage but of someone much younger and from the looks of the courser ober his head it was a fellow player "hey there are you here to do this quest to if so maybe we could do it together should make it alot easier" he said as he approached the man smiling as he spoke.

If the player accepts the quest, the NPC takes the player outside to a 2 meter-high rock with a diameter of about 1.5 meters and almost as tough as an Immortal Object. There, the NPC reveals that the player must split the rock into two using only their fists and then proceeds to paint whiskers with quick-drying paint on the player’s face, claiming that the whiskers cannot be removed until the rock is split. If the player does manage to split the rock, they are rewarded with the Extra Skill.

"Amazing..." Xian uttered to himself, admiring the legendary rock. It was gigantic - he was like an ant compared to the size of this thing. It only reminded him of how he was only an ant in this world of powerful players. Xian had a late start, but he had finally gotten the courage to leave the safe zone and take a peek at what is outside. To his astonishment and pleasure, he was able to find the rock that he had heard so much about. Apparently, breaking this rock granted the quest taker with the ability to use martial arts - something that he had proficiency with in real life. It would be fun to do something like that again. Still, breaking this thing was another story. As a level one player, Xian could barely even kill a fly, let alone break this rock with his bare hands. If Xian was going to break this rock, he would have to spend a long time going at it, if it was even possible for someone of his low level to complete this quest. Still, Xian is a stubborn man, and without much thinking, decided that this would be the task for the day.

It was then that he heard a voice from his left. He turned slowly, not his whole body, just his head so he could make eye contact with this newcomer with his cold, brown eyes. This man was of a completely different weight class. He was buff, and obviously goes to the gym a lot. The man seems like he doesn't do a lot of cardio - one of those guys who hogs the weight machine or the bench press at the gym. Xian has fought a lot of people of this size over the past, but this video game was a whole different story. Xian smiled a half-smile, "Of course, why else would I be here? This is probably going to take a long time though... do you have anything that can help us with this?" Xian asked, shifting his attention back to the boulder.

Zuekin sighed he seemed friendly enough which was a good thing he liked making new friends when he could it meant more people to spar with "oh yeah ive got a couple of things that could help but first" he said opening up his menu and sending him a party invite "lets party up, by the way my name is zuekin whats yours?" He asked as he moved an item into his transaction box and sent it to the man "there that should help out with your damage." he said as he sent one of the sharp dragon fangs he had gotten from a man giving them out for free before downing one himself. "Okay now we need to talk to the sage" turning towards the hit he made his way to the front door or only door for that matter and knocked "Master sage we've come to take your challenge and beat the rock" when he was done there was a short silence before an old hoarse voice spoke up "if your here for that then go ahead and start I'll be out in a minute" with that zuekin turned back to his ally "well that didnt last as long as last time let's get started shall we" he walked past him and took up position infront of the boulder he bent his knees slightly and put his arms to his sides bending his elbows so that the end of his arms were parallel to the ground and balled his fists and began a breathing exercise while he waited for his part member to get ready.

"Xian." He replied simply, indifferent as the pop-up menu came across his vision. This was only the second time that he had seen this item pop up, and the first time that he had, things did not turn out well. Xian furrowed his brows, and slowly clicked on the accept button. This was it - perhaps this was the thing that will finally warm him up to this virtual prison. Joining a party might not seem like that big of a deal... but it was the first time that he had done anything since that incident.

Xian then received an item from the black-haired man - a potion of sorts. It was of a dark, red color, and the container was plain and simple. He inspected the item, and the game seemed to tell him exactly what it was: a sharp dragon-fang potion. Xian watched the man down the same item, and decided that it was not poison or anything before consuming his own. The man then started to walk, with the purpose of talking to some sage. Of course, Xian did not know how this worked, so he simply followed Zuekin. He didn't feel anything different from drinking that potion, so he felt curious about exactly what it did, "What exactly did that potion do?" Xian asked, out of nowhere before they arrived at the sage's house.

Xian listened to the short conversation between the Sage and Zuekin. As soon as the conversation ended, it seemed that the quest had started. "So, you've done this before?" Xian asked, responding to a comment that Zuekin had made during the conversation. He watched as the man took position in front of the boulder, as if he was going to just punch the rock. To Xian, it seemed like it would hurt, but there were no pain in this game. "Go ahead." Xian suggested, cocking his head towards the boulder.

"well it's a pleasure to meet you xian" he said as he stopped his breathing exercise and started to inspect the boulder looking for any signs of fatigue on its surface. After a closer look he didn't seem to notice any weak spots on it and was about to move to strike until Xian asked what the potion did and if he had done this quest before he turned his head slightly to answer "well it's supposed to increase your damage by two but I haven't used these before so this is a first for me but as for doing this quest yes ive tried it before key word tried since I failed it I didn't have these items before as I said and I had something come up" he hoped that explanation would suffice and looked back at the rock readying to swing again when there was a loud thud as the door to the hut swung open smacking against the wall in the opening stood a short wrinkled pld man in his hands was a small brush and a bowl "wait!!" he shouted as loud as his aged lungs would let him "I almost forgot you need to have this face faint on or you wont be able to harm the boulder" he said moving over to Zuekin and applyed it. When he was done Zuekin looked over to Xian "how's it look" after he asked he turned around and smashed fist into the boulder causing the point of impact and the are around it to crack from the force of the punch "your turn" he said moving to the side so he wouldn't be in the way.

Xian nodded when the man exclaimed that it was a pleasure to meet him - generic greeting... Xian thought nothing of it. He watched as the muscular man walked up to the boulder to inspect the stone. Xian wondered what he was doing, but then reasoned that he was probably looking for a spot to strike before going at it. Xian waited patiently, although he was starting to grow impatient. Time was of the essence - if he was going to catch up to the front lines, it was essential for him to not waste a single second. However, he waited this time, as a weak point in the rock can definitely speed up the process drastically. To his disappointment, it seemed that Zuekin was unable to find anything useful. The man walked back, and began to answer Xian's questions that he had asked before. So... he quit, huh? Xian thought to himself. Of course, Xian was unaware of the circumstances that revolved around the forsaken of the quest, but he hates quitting, and he dislikes quitters - hopefully this man isn't like that.

Zuekin was about to strike when the old man came out and applied some sort of face paint on him. Zuekin then asked him how he looked, to which Xian glanced at his face, holding in a laugh, answered, "Just the same as before." He smiled and allowed the old man to apply paint to his face as well. Now, it was his turn to charge at the rock. He swallowed, getting into a charging stance that he had seen some of the other players do, before running towards the giant boulder and jumping in the air. Unfortunately, it seemed that his martial arts skill in real life does not correlate with this game, as he flopped to the ground, unable to complete the maneuver. "Oof," Xian exclaimed, "that didn't work too well." and that was when a pop up notification occurred that read: sword art not unlocked. "Sword art, huh?" Xian read, "Must have accidentally tried to activate something."
