[PP-F01] Music starting <TFFLAF>

Recommended Posts

With some things out of the way, Quinn seemed to get better at walking on the streets of the first settlement. But yet she still held her hands held close to her chest she moved around for a bit. Knowing from experience how games worked she knew that she needed to level up her ability to gain at least a foothold in this game. As it seemed right now Quinn's level was low and not just low it was level one. Knowing her best way to start was by following the tutorial but she really had no idea where and how to find this quest. Knowing from some books asking at the player request bored was her best option. Placing down a request as quickly as she could before leaving the chaos again. With that in place, it was waiting for someone to get her a message and see what people will do.

Once Quinn took some time to go stand in a calm and quiet place in the park within the settlement she looked out over the small pond in front of her seeing swans there. brrrr I don't like you, not even if you are just pixels, She though looking at the swan as she crossed her legs as she sat down on the grass. It took a bit of time before she got a message, a person called Mari message her and Quinn without thinking sent her own coordinations to this Mari person. AS she looked over at the pond and the swan making sure it did not get any closer a small connection was made. "Eh!" she said fast as her brain made the connection clear now as she knew the name Mari, someone she remembers a bit. But not sure as well. With this Quinn was trying to remember the face to the name she was awful with remembering names and faces so it took a bit as she was trying to remember how Mari looked like and what happened again.

Getting a message back saying something about meeting at the gate Quinn tilted her head a bit but seemed alright doing so as she got up and stared at the swan, "Don't you dare follow me!" She said looking a bit angry as far as she could. Being honest her angry face was not the best. As she then made her way to the gate with her small spear on her back and her hands close to her chest as she walked passed people avoiding everyone who ran into her. Once there and the message popped up from leaving the save zone Quinn looked at the gate and sighed looking a bit scared. Taking her spear from her back and into her hands she held it close and waited for Mari to show up.

Mari was standing outside the safe zone, far enough that the NPC guards wouldn't bother her. But not far enough that she wasn't bothering others. A few players had passed by, quickening their pace and muttering about 'what is a PKer doing this close to town'  the other 'careful, she's dangerous!'  Mari was used to these sort of comments and whilst they frustrated her, she couldn't blame them.

. You'll have to take the leers, and the jeers, and stigma of being orange, but that suffering, pushing through it, and doing what is right going forward is what will make people believe in you. The harder the road, the greater the redemption

Yeh... it was a hard road. One that constantly pushed back at Mari. But she was okay with that. She just wanted to help in small ways. It's partly why Mari accepted the offer that Quinn had posted. She remembered the girl from the Gala; small and timid. Seemed to have some sort of social anxiety. Mari had stepped in and helped lead her away from the noise and kerfuffle that was Macradon shoving his fists into bowls of punch. Mari laughed softly to herself at the thought. It had been rather amusing. It was the first night in a long time where she had genuinely enjoyed herself, for the most part.

Sapphire eyes lifted up to the path as she noticed another approach. Mari breathed a sigh of relief when she recognized the petite figure. "Quinn." Mari said with a wave as she took a few steps to breach the gap between them. Mari crossed her arms over her chest and offered the smaller girl a small smile. It was a little endearing to see her trying to go out and do things. "So, I saw your request; I assume you don't mind me helping since you accepted my aid. Just...a forewarning - others may not like seeing it." Mari shifted her gaze away, scratching at her cheek. "But, if you're fine with that, then we can be on our way.... here."

Mari opened up her HUD panel and stood close enough to Quinn so she could also see. "You're doing what are essentially the fetch quest tutorials. They're really f**king annoying but net you a decent amount of Experience. So this one...we need to collect a total of 10 materials - you then gotta take it back to the Alchemist guy and craft some things. I'd escort you back to the town but-"

HONK

What in the....? Mari turned to see the sound of the noise. A large swan had made its way out of the town and now stood behind Mari and Quinn. "Err...hello?"

HONK HONK

The swan flapped its wings and snapped its beak and Mari and Quinn, instinctively, Mari took a step back, grabbing Quinn by her shoulder to pull her back, enough that she was now just behind Mari. "Err...is that your familiar or somethin? Doesn't look too happy to see us."

Once outside looking a bit sheepish around for this Mari until Quinn notice someone calling out to her and waving her over, it then came to her. This name was familiar, and now the face too. The redhead form that one and oh so great party ending in chaos for Quinn. At least she was the one getting to talk to Quinn and trying to calm her down, Saying much to nothing in fear. But that was over now, at least that is what Quinn was hoping for. Slowly and sheepishly walking over to the redhead Quinn looked at Mari "H-Hi," She said low and soft. listening to her for a bit Quinn shook her head, "pas de soucis, N-No w-worries," She said spoken quiet and soft to her. She felt a bit better speaking France to her but she still needed to translate it after that so that was a bit harder.

So there was need of a plan, and Mari seemed well informed already about this quest as told Quinn about the whole goal of the quest. As she explained, however, a Honk was heard from behind and Quinn turned around to stare a swan in the eyes. "Eek!" A cry of panic came out louder than anything ever said by her before. With the quick movement of Mari Quinn was already behind Mari and out of her panic but upon seeing who or what it was Quinn stared and pointed getting even a bit angry looking face. "It's you! HOW DID YOU FOLLOW ME!" Quinn got out for the first time for Mari to hear Quinn speak so loudly. Her voice sounded mature more than anyone expected as well having a soft and caring sound to it even in her yelling state at the swan.

MaidMama_30m_sketch_3.png.1cfe72736f5a607cdc2a98def14068a9.pngMari was a little startled, hearing the girls voice - did she...just for a moment, sound a little older than Mari first thought?  Mari honestly thought the girl was around 16, at most but could easily have pinned her for 14-15.  It was so hard to tell these days with how kids dressed up and acted. She swore they all matured way faster than she ever did. Kids these days Mari shook her head lightly at the thought. She tugged her black scarf down, loosening its hold around her neck. The first floor was always quite warm.

"Right. So it's not your familiar, then." Mari said as she stepped toward the swan. "Man, cartoons and movies always portray them as these elegant and noble creatures, but these things are just snappy little sh*ts, aren't they?" Mari said as she took a few  on purposefully large and stomping steps toward the swan.

HONK HONK

The swan nipped at Mari's exposed legs, flapping large wings. It was clearly not afraid. It did no damage, and didn't hurt. It was just like if someone were to stand there and poke you a little too hard, mildly annoying at best. This was meant to be a non aggressive mob, sure. Mari could kill it, but she'd rather...not? She glanced over her shoulder at Quinn, and gave an amused snort. "Well, looks like you have a friend. Doesn't look like it's gonna attack us, just follow us. I'd rather not, but you're technically my boss since you hired me. So if you want it gone just say the word and it's someones dinner. Yeh?"

It seems that the swan from the pond, that is in the park INSIDE the safe zone was now outside, for Quinn a completely new thing to see happen. Remembering the first time Quinn found this swan in that same pond it also followed her around. But why she was scared of this thing was just because of her experience from the other side. The real world. A lot of things came to mind as the swan snapped at Mari's hand and a small shock was given my Quinn as it did so.

As Mari spoke about the swan and this little standoff with them and the swan Mari spoke to Quinn saying about something with dinner. Taking a bit in Quinn straightened herself out and her voice became soft and quiet again, "K-Killing seems a bit, H-harsh for it." Saying this Quinn tilted her head a bit at the swan. Hearing that Quinn was the boss-ish of Mari, Quinn looked up and sighed a bit from those words. "D-Don't kill it, but do ... Do get him away from me," Quinn said to Mari softly and carefully clearly showing her fear for this creature.

Mari nodded. "Right, boss."  That seemed to put the kid in good spirits, so Mari decided to continue to play along. After all, it was true - Quinn was technically her boss. Mari just had the option to walk away at any time. But Quinn seemed fairly carefree, if not a little nervous and jumpy at every little thing - so Mari felt inclined to stay and help. "Ok well..." She turned to the Swan who was trying to move past Mari to come at Quinn. It took a step to the left, Mari took one to the left. It tried to circle back round to the right and Mari was there, in front of it again. The swan flapped its wings, annoyed at Mari. It honked loudly several times. "HONK Back to you!" Mari called out to the swan, poorly imitating the sound it had made.  How was Mari supposed to keep it away from Quinn?  "Hmm... well this is all I can think of..." Mari said as she bent down and picked up the swan, using her hands she held its wings down to its sides.

The swan did not like that one bit. It flailed its neck to and fro honking loudly, causing a commotion. It nipped at Mari's arms, but caused no damage nor pain. "You know, it probably has a crush on you." Mari said. "Birds are weird like that." She held it up and over her head then took a few steps back.

Mari then ran forward several metres before hurling the poor swan through the sky. YEET It tumbled forward before catching itself and fluttering down to a landing somewhere far off. Mari didn't say it to Quinn, since she looked like she was terrified of the thing, but Mari knew it'd be back. Instead she dusted off her hands and turned to the small blonde.

"Right. So about those materials, do you know how to collect them?"

as soon as Quinn asked to take care of this swan there was a small sigh and a little battle between the two. What is wrong with this swan why was it even following her in the first place and why did it not give up either. With the small dance, Mari had with the swan it all ended as Mari picked it up and it started to flail about trying to get out. There a wonder happened, A small giggle from Quinn, soft, but it was there. As the swan flew as elegant as it could as it was thrown by Mari and seemed to be away for now. Then the attention was back to Quinn with Mari's question.

Quinn snapped out her small smile and back to her nervous self. "ah! Y-Yes I do!" Quinn said looking fastly at the ground before turning her attention back to Mari. Looking for Materials, sounded easy but to be honest Quinn never did it. Still, it was explained to her in the small book she had been reading. Just look around for items, they shine a bit. Those are the words said by the book. So knowing that the materials Quinn needed were just needed for potions it was easy to find some sort of plant.

Looking around for a small bit Quinn tried her best looking at the place they were currently at. But it seemed maybe it was better to move a bit more away from the gates as Quinn looked up from the ground it was still like right there. "M-Maybe I don't," Quinn said to Mari with a clear small nervousness in her voice as she seemed to not know if she did it right or not.

"Don't fret too much Quinn. You did it right, it just takes practice." Mari said as she knelt down into the grass beside Quinn. "When I first took this quest it took me several tries before I even got one material, I was very clumsy and impatient. I find when collecting materials. It's important to be a little more delicate with it."  Mari spoke in a calm and understanding tone, one hand rested on Quinns back. The other reached out to grab a small yellow flower that lightly shimmered between the green blades of grass.

"I always gather plant materials from the base of the stem like this." Mari took said stem between thumb and forefinger and gently pulled it away. She handed the material to Quinn. "See, like that. Only 9 more to go."

Mari shifted so she was sitting cross legged in the grass. This was...relaxing. There wasn't any real pressure; nor mobs. Her eyes searched the horizon for any signs of a honking swan, and saw none. So she shifted her gaze back to Quinn. "Try again." Mari said in an attempt to encourage her. She wasn't sure if she was really doing the girl any good. She felt like she was simply acting a a body guard against a clearly enamored bird. But hey, if that helped this timid kid, Mari would do it.

"The sun is nice, there aren't any rain clouds in the sky, and your stalker is nowhere to be seen, so just enjoy the breeze and take your time."

"O-Ooh, Um yes," Quinn said fast listening to Mari what she was telling her. So it was not that simple as it was said in the book. Maybe Quinn should see if she wanted to focus more on the other stuff than combat, as this seemed quite important too. Quinn turned to Mari walking up to her a bit, "Mari... Are there any Skills to make it easier." Quinn asked her back to her softly spoken but deep France accent. It was an honest and curious question from Quinn as she was not really keen on fighting now that is all seemed so dangerous and deadly.

Mari showed Quinn how and what she should be looking for, that did look simple and Quinn with a small look of I can do it went around a bit and looked. But as Quinn looked around she was really stroking a bit of bad luck here and with how hard she was even trying she did not find it, Why can't I find this, Where are these!!! Quinn thought as she looked around for a bit before turning to Mari again, "No l-luck," You could see a clear disappointment in Quinn's eyes there as she said it.

"Hmm?" Mari turned her head toward Quinn. "Other skills. Yeh. You have the Gatherer skill which increases your potential for doubling or even trippling the materials you collect. Then there is the uhm, I think Search skill - which makes finding things easier." Mari reached out and pressed an index finger to Quinn's head. "You could be a Gatherer, or maybe a pirate, grab the lock-picking skill and plunder all the chests." Mari added in a joking tone.  "You could ignore all that, and just get the fishing perk. Become a fisherman. Never once stepping foot anywhere near the frontlines."

Mari shrugged. "There is so much pressure from people for us all to 'contribute' or 'help' everyone get out the game, but we've been here for years now. So much so that I don't even know how much time has truly passed. Who gives a flying f**k what you do. You could sit there and eat sweets for all I care. What other people do isn't my business." Mari realized she was going on a bit of a tangent. "Ah. I guess my point is, do something you wanna do. If anyone has an issue with it punch them. Or call me, I'll punch them for you."

Quinn had missed her chance again. "Ah. Not having much luck huh? Don't worry too much, as I said, it took me several tries to get even one the first time I did this." Mari reached out and plucked another flower from the field.

"We can move to a different area if you want - just lead the way and I'll follow. There are nearby lakes and flowerbeds. Or we can go as far as the forest."

Hearing from Mari a few skills Quinn opened her menu and wrote something down, both the skill gatherer and searching where noted. Before much more Quinn took a look at the skill menu, taking a look here and there Quinn found the two skills both being quite interesting to be using, sadly at this time Quinn had no point to use them yet but she wanted to get there so she could use them, "M-Merci," Quinn said closing the menu before kneeling down to the ground. From the side now as she was kneeling down she really looked quite small and even young. But Quinn was not paying much mind to that as she was trying to look for some of these flowers.

Kneeling down A small Smile came to her face, and it was clear to see, her carefree spirit was shining out and the little girl picked up a light pink flower from the ground and looked at it getting the information from the item she just got.

Material Item: Dahlia
Item Buff: ???
Rarety: Tier 1

Quinn then puts the flower away and as soon as she did so the quest updated from looking for 5 to 4 more materials she needed to find. Turning to the attention of Mari as she spoke, Quinn looked around. To be honest there were not many flowers around here and the sounds of the lakes and flowerbeds sounded nice. There was a ray of happiness in Quinns eyes but still far away from being herself around people was hard as she still seemed nervous, "T-The flowerbeds, and... and the lakes sound nice," Quinn said looking away from Mari as she told this to her clearly being still a bit nervous.

Mari gave the young girl a small smile. "See, you did it!" She said, offering words of encouragement. As Quinn knelt down and started foraging for more materials Mari couldn't help but take note of how small she was. It was still difficult trying to pick her age, but Mari knew better than to ask. Especially here, where it was difficult to tell how much time had actually passed. Quinn seemed like the kind of person who would break down easily.

Mari pushed herself up off the ground and reached out to Quinn, helping the smaller one to her own feet. "Right. Follow me." Mari said as she quickly glanced around the area; no sign of boars - or swans. Good, she lead them to the nearest lake she knew of, it wasn't very big, nor deep. She could easily wade right into the center of it and still have her head above water, albeit only just. "Here we are." Mari said as she headed toward the waters edge, kneeling down -

"You find find materials in and around the lake," Mari said as she picked up a glimmering translucent stone. She pocketed it and dusted her hands off. " I'd prefer not to get wet so I won't wade in - but if you want to I'll keep an eye on things around here." Mari quirked her lip up. "Just in case a love struck swan makes its return."

Accepting the hand from Mari, Quinn got up to her feet and followed Mari closely. It took not that long before Mari pointed out that they got there. Right ahead of them a lake, Easy to go into and probably not even that deep either. But Quinn was not in the mood to get wet at all and nodded to Mari showing her appreciation to her. So finding some items for the quest around here should help more and have better luck. Looking for a bit Quinn tried her best to find the items needed for this.

And so it was true, Not long as Quinn slowly walked over to the lakeside an item started glowing a bit. There Quinn kneeled down and looked at the item before picking it up. It looked like a sort water plant or something and as soon as Quinn picked it up her quest updated.

Materials item: Lotus
Item Buff: ???
Rarety: Tier 1

A smile came on Quinn's face looking at the flower for a bit, it looked quite cool and Beautifull for sure. Placing it in her inventory Quinn turned to Mari as her smile disappeared again as she spoke soft, "You were right... B-Beter place to look here," Quinn said. As so Quinn turned looking over the lake for a second time and smiled, in the distance you could see the hills and beyond that there were mountains. Floor one really did look quite interesting out here.

Mari grinned when Quinn found another Material. "Yeh, see? Sometimes its not you. So don't be so hard on yourself. Mostly, its just a bad spawning area. I don't do it much, but back in the day I used to go hunting for materials all the time. Now I don't even bother with my crafts, let alone hunting for ingredients."

The ginger haired woman plunged her hand down into the water and wrapped her fingers around some reeds before pulling them up, shaking the water from them.

"After this, I got one more to go. Once I have all five I may as well give them to you." Mari shrugged her shoulders.  "I can't do the second part of the quest, since it involves me going into town..."  Mari trailed off, watching Quinn. She missed the towns, she missed the hustle and bustle of people. Mari used to hate mundane things like that, but now, she found it was those small, bothersome things...that she missed most. As much as she wanted to jump on in and face Redemption she felt she was not ready. Nor was the world. She couldn't just wash herself free of the colour that stained the crystal above her head.

"I need to ask, you seem quite timid - and I ain't got no issue with that, but you know what an orange crystal means right?" Mari asked. She was genuinely unsure if Quinn knew of the status. "It means I'm a criminal. You okay with that?"

Quinn turned to look at Mari as she spoke, She really seemed to miss going into the town, and after that even to Quinn, it was clear. Quinn stood there quiet as Mari asked her if she knew that the orange curser means. Soon after Mari did say it, but that was quite clear on Quinn's part. Quinn stayed quiet for a long bit, a minute or two. At that same moment, Quinn kneeled down to pick up something. It was an orange and diligent flower all alone next to other flowers.

Putting it away Quinn looked at Mari and spoke. Her voice sounding soft as always but the most different part about her tone was No fear and a lot of care. "Mari... I have seen your name on the monument. And... Mari, you are my friend" Quinn said slowly walking closer making sure not to make any sudden movements. Standing still about an arm length away from Mari now Quinn smiled right directly at Mari, The first time in ever.

"I didn't want to speak up about it after seeing some of your outbursts at the gala," Quinn paused for a bit taking a step closer to Mari showing that she did not fear Mari at all. "But you have helped me more than I could ever ask for." Her voice sounding calm caring and soft, "To say the least, you may be the first person I trust in this game. I owe you a lot so," Quinn stopped and a smile came to her face one not seen before at all, "Sorry!" Quinn said loud and full of energy just as when she saw the swan back then. And before Mari could react Quinn was already putting her hands around Mari and giving her a hug, "I appreciate you for everything you have done so far for me!" Quinn said with energy and a clear sign of happiness.

Mari winced when Quinn said she had seen her name on the monument, right... it was foolish of Mari to think that the young kid hadn't visited the monument, most people had. What Mari wasn't expecting though...was for Quinn to call her a friend, they had only met once before at a very hectic gala. "Outbursts..." Mari muttered, "Ah..yeh, I have a bit of a short fuse. I'm trying to keep it in check these days , but being blasted in the face with cold air, f**k I'm only human, right?" Mari tried to say with a smile.

Mari diverted her attention to the reeds that lined the lake. She picked one up, and it had turned into a material. "Ok, that's me done then." Mari said as she leaned back. Mari wasn't expecting the thing that had happened next. The tiny girl wrapped her arms around Mari, thin arms squeezing the woman tight. Warmth soaked into Mari's form, and Mari was...at a loss for words. Instinctively, she wanted to push the other one off of her, not having good experiences with people closing in on her personal space. She didn't like it when it was sudden and unexpected like this. IT was easy to push someone like Gall...whatever, off of her - but someone so small and frail? That was a little bit different. Her voice squeaked with some sort of unbridled glee that Mari didn't understand, but it was a rare thing in this world and Mari - despite how uncomfortable she felt, couldn't just take that away.  Mari reached up and gave Quinn a pat on the shoulder. "Uhm..it's okay." She said softly. "I didn't really do much of anything, yanno? I just threw a Swan, and stole some strawberries that's all."

Speaking of, Mac still needed to give her the ones he had liberated from the event. Mari cleared her throat as she gave Quinn another gentle pat on her back.
Mari...wasn't good with words in moments like these, she just hoped that the lackluster gesture wasn't lost on Quinn.

"You said, you like musicals, right?  Do you like the Violin? I could play if you like?"  That'd be something she could do...yeh? Baldur said she should share her music, right? Not in those exact words but...still...

Quinn let's go of the hug as Mari seemed a bit uncoverable being hugged, and Quinn made a bow, "Sorry again, but I speak out of the heart here. You have helped me and I really appreciate it. That's why I want to help you in return, You are my friend Mari and no matter what happens I will help you whenever I can," Quinn said clear and with joy, compared to how she sounded before you could feel that Quinn warmed up to Mari and spoke out of great hopes. Not only that as well her accent was clear and the girl Mari met at the gala seemed completely different from the girl standing in front of Mari now. "You think you did nothing, but most people don't help me when I have a panic attack in Paris. And keeping away that monster of a bird, well In my book that is enough for me," Quinn said busting out a lot of nowhere and Quinn stopped taking a step back.

Getting the question from Mari there was a clear shine in her eyes. "You know how to play the violin!!! THAT IS AMAZING," Quinn said getting out an outburst of energy completely out of nowhere. Quinn stopped as she patted her own legs and tapped on her cheeks, "Sorry!" Quinn said fast before making a small bow to her. "Can I do something before you start playing, I just HAVE to do this. I feel like I owe you it," Quinn said to Mari sounding a bit more mature to then she was letting of this whole beginning.

Letting out a smile to Mari Quinn spoke, "Hello, I'm Quinn. Quincy Lévûque," Her last name came out so easy as she spoke it but trust anyone to read it and say it, It would probably break them. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mari, And if you are wondering what is going on..." Quinn stopped a bit before speaking again, "This is the real me. Sorry if its all a bit to take in but I guess I own you it, If I could I would love to play a duet with you if I have an own Violin again," Quinn said to Mari getting a smile on her face as she seemed quite calm and relaxed compared to her sheepish ways before.

Why did she offer to play again?
Why couldn't she just keep her big ass mouth shut?
Why did she offer to do something so personal to her for someone else?

Quinn squealed in almost sheer delight, her entire body bouncing up with a newfound exuberance - ah...That's why  She practically oozed warmth in every minute action, the flutter of her wide eyes, the way her lips turned up into a smile - and when she did smile, she smiled with her whole face. Not just her lips. It was a stark contrast from the girl who Mari met at the Gala, she supposed this was how Quinn normally was, when she let her guard down.  "Y-You really don't owe me anything." Mari said as she opened up her inventory, pulling out  an old and worn violin.

"Honestly...." Mari said as she began to play the violin. "I don't really care who the real you is - the real you is whoever you want yourself to be."  She paused as she continued to play - the song meant a lot to her - it was a song she played to Alkor when she found out he wasn't dead - one to Baldur - (although she didn't realize he was actually listening), she'd play it with her Grandpa accompanying her on the piano - and now, Mari played it for Quinn.

"I'm not sure I'm comfortable playing as a duet with someone..." Mari admitted, still playing the song - her words were quiet, as though she did not want to disturb the bitterswet melody. "But I can help you find one so you can play here."

Quinn's eyes went all wide with joy as soon as Mari pulled out the violin herself and Quinn could not help herself but stare in amazement. Quinn noticed herself staring a bit and looked down at the ground, "Sorry I stared," Quinn said polite just speaking with her cheerful sounding voice instant of the quiet and soft voice she used. Now listening to Mari as she was player got quite Quinn's attention away from gathering materials. And she was focused on the music as she slowly swung from right to left as Mari was player clearly enjoying herself as Mari played.

Once Mari stopped Quinn was quiet taking in ever last note she players. Then Quinn started clapping fast but not loud just to make sure not to take Mari by surprise. "Incroyable, magnifique, Si cool et si fort!" Quinn said in France, "I ... Um... I mean it was great, sorry I forgot for a moment I had to keep talking English here and not France!" Quinn said to Mari the two later few words got Quinn by a bigger surprise, however. This was a clear buff to Quinn's joy and her eyes spoke for her as she nodded, "You mean you go with me to find one! I would love that and I will do anything for you if you did!!!" Quinn said sounding joyful kind of forgetting about the quest until there was a small ping in her head and the quest was reminding her about the quest itself.

"Ooh yeah um Materials! alright, sorry I need to get back to the materials!" Quinn said getting back to looking around for a second but it seemed that Quinn lost her focus and was humming the song Mari just played a bit. For someone as small as her she had quite a good memory of every note Mari played and every note she hummed was correct right on the key as well. It took Quinn a bit and she was humming the song while looking for a bit.

Mari tried her best not to look at Quinn, she as rarely used to having an audience when she played; and when she did play - she had often turned her back on the person - purely because she wasn't sure she'd be able to actually continue if she saw peoples reactions to her. When she finished, Quinn had apologized for staring, and Mari was reminded exactly why she tried to avoid looking at her audience. "Ah, I-it's fine really." Mari said as she waved off the compliment.

Then the clapping came.

'Bloody hell does this kid have to?' Mari thought to herself as Quinn started to applaud. Mari...didn't take too well to the compliments, she felt rather embarrassed and undeserving of them. "Ah really, it's nothing. I'm not that great. I only really ever played with my Grandpa and only know the songs he taught me, hell I can barely read music." Mari said as she quickly tried to deflect each word of praise.  "I'm sure you're much more skilled than me."

Mari watched as she tried to grab another material, if Mari could - she'd help the girl, but that wasn't the requirements of the quest. "You gotta stop apologizing." Mari said as she took a seat just behind Quinn, watching her work. "As for finding you a Violin...I uh...can't really help you with that, I can't go into towns - but most general stores, merchants, and performers will stock instruments."
