Raidou 1 Posted May 28, 2020 #1 Report Share Posted May 28, 2020 Eruda's test had gone well, the girl left to her own devices to handle her own wrap up with Gatsby to which Raidou takes to the canopy to kill time to the next spawn. A transposed message which reads as follows: Quote Floor 2, Venomous Warg Simple and quick, Raidou deposits the couple herbs he managed in the time between. A still young night with his HUD reading back 9:37 pm. This meant he had plenty of time before the sunrise to finish the placement exams as long as he did not dally, the same extended to those who were being tried. This message was composed and sent to his kin, the cousin that had decided to come in here after him. But now it was she that would be sought and examined, to prove if she was capable of what was required for her to do. As a mirror to Setsuna, she would be expected the same if she were to succeed. A few passing moments break the canopy to Gatsby, the grizzled looking NPC down on his ever persisting luck. A shame really he would never have closure as its required of him to always require aid. He doesn't quite acknowledge the swordsman in red, for his task had been already completed prior. Standing at the crossroad where the NPC took residence he awaits the girl with orange hair, to lay her issues to rest once and for all or be left in his wake. The scent of the sea still clung to her hair, a stomach still a bit leery from what had transpired that afternoon. A ring snaps her awake, as she slides up in a comforter that slides from her neck. "Raidou." a soft whisper to the interior of her shop, confused with a rub of her eyes as the brightness of the screen causes them to blur for a moment. A response to the swordsman: Quote I'll be right there! As she changes from a two piece nightgown to her gii, she darts out into the chilly night with her hair trailing behind her as she runs. An activity absent city on floor 2 past the field of crossing and through the city of Urbus, she rushes forward partway on foot and halfway in the trees. A scatter of cherry blossom petals at her back as she lands, slightly out of breath as the system was being pushed to the limits. She takes a moment of deep breaths before she speaks "What do you require of me, cousin?" Raidou 1 Posted May 28, 2020 Author #3 Report Share Posted May 28, 2020 A simple point to Gatsby with no words spoken, for he could not accept the quest she had to undertake for her as he had already completed it. A shift of his menus as he redirects some of it to the forefront into segments with planning. A scratch upon the paper removes Kasumi from the list of awaiting members as her exam was about to begin. Adjusting the glasses on his nose as he targets his kin, sending her a party invite in haste as he begins to trail away as she should have no trouble keeping up with him after speaking to the NPC as required of her. A slide into the canopy he proceeds on toward the clearing that the wolves had taken fancy to, although he had not a marker to show him where to head he had a concrete memory of its location from repeated travel to and from. Her gaze shifts to meet his and as soon as it does he starts to speak. "You've got to help me. Those damned wolves won't leave my caravans alone! How am I supposed to feed my family." Gatsby pleads to the orange haired girl in earnest, taking her hands in his own. "I will take care of the problem." Kasumi comments with a smile, as Gatsby's expression turns to delight. "Thank you! Thank you kindly girl, take this." he remarks as he shuffles in his pockets retracting a bottle and passing it to her, a vial of liquid under cork. She bows and accepts the fluid, as silence draws between them she moves to catch up with Raidou. He was keeping a steady but manageable pace which allowed her to bring up the rear without too much difficulty. Link to post Share on other sites

Raidou explains further the specifics "There is 4 total, 3 standard wolves and a single alpha. The leader needs to be destroyed first and foremost and that lies to you. You are not allowed to strike the others until the main one falls, move in on the flank and strike when there is an opening. This is the task you are required to undertake to continue your progression with Firm Anima, the hesitation ends here. I cannot have you risk your life and the lives of those around you when the situation is dire. Fail to act but one time and your journey ends. Strike fast and clean without pause, and prove you can stand with the others." he speaks firmly, in a required tone. This difficulty she had needed to stop if she ever hoped of not becoming a liability when creatures became less forgiving to such issues. With the ground rules set, Raidou begins into the clearing. Kasumi 0 Posted May 29, 2020 #6 Report Share Posted May 29, 2020 Kasumi seems troubled a bit in her facial expression, a soured look painted in a pained loss of smile. Her glance turns to a frown as she asserts the words into her head with a response of "Alright..." It trails longer than she had intended. She watches on as Raidou enters the rounded section where the trees were not present and in response some toothed heads rise from the chilled earth. Slow steps as the swordsman moves toward the litter, as they claim their footing and begin to close the distance in tandem. Kasumi leaps into the treeline, getting off the ground level. She peers down with a hand placed on a wooden trunk, scanning the lot as they move into the clearing looking for the target she was told to focus upon. Obviously bigger than the others, a purpled viscous saliva dripping through its teeth as it furls its snot. Kasumi has found her mark. Link to post Share on other sites

Drawing free his tanking blade, the black star in a cool silver grey that reflects the moonlight above it as its torn free he shifts the blade up. They snarl in response as the gap between them closes, Raidou just as prepared as before steels himself for the incoming bloodlust. They begin to circle in the typical fashion of such a type of creature, Raidou watches them all carefully waiting for the inevitable pounce as a division in his perception keeps tabs on Kasumi. He can see her sizing up the marks, choosing the one he had broadcasted and looking for the opening to which she could act. Kasumi lays in wait just outside of their aggressions until her target is fully available. A burst of pink light engulfs her appendages, as she enters a full sprint from the trees. A sudden leap toward the alpha the cardinal system amplifying the action to a superhuman level. The system tries to carry the attack through to the others as designed, but Kasumi fights against it. Eager to follow orders the heels of both of her feet begin in a precision strike on the alpha and only the beast, nothing more. She flutters and twirls as she springs, landing to the ground as her spin carriers her one time around once she sets feet down. A nod to Raidou she leaps back and vanishes back to concealment for the next opportunity to arise. The alpha attempts to turn and assail the girl, as expected when struck without its targeting overwritten. A glimmer on his blade as a reddish smoke begins to billow from his robe, his intentions to cleave the entire litter and peel their senses to him alone becoming drawn upon the black star in silvered light. A punch of energy arcs out in a wide ring as he pivots, slamming into those within range but as chances would have it the alpha manages to dodge rather deftly. His fumes play upon the creature's senses, it shakes its head trying to maintain control over its vision as the hatred tries to blur it to Kasumi's presence. He was holding strong but she could see him take some damage, but the attack seemed to barely draw anything from his health bar. It hadn't come up before but just how strong was he? She got the sense that he could do this forever just by watching the stance and the fact that most of the attacks didn't get through. It was just like the real world, the only difference was substituting an arm for a sword. A smile in response as her moment shows again, the alpha was divided from its kin and it gave her the opening to lay on another assault. A burst of pink light claims her right foot. She takes to an almost sonic sprint with leaves following in vacuum before she leaps and allows the one appendage to carry the strengthened blade of her foot into the creature. Kasumi was progressing well, showing that she was capable enough to follow the command and he could not sense that hesitation in her actions. The alpha was waning in strength as its movement slowed, but it was proving troublesome as he could see it still trying to focus Kasumi. This meant that the girl was hitting hard, hard enough to overwhelm his threat creation. That would not stand if the swordsman could help it. Twisting the edge of the blade in an upturned hand it activated in cool gray light. A quick shift of his left leg, the weight placed upon it allowed a pivot that spun the blade around him with his red robe trembling with the movement. Two get the sense they should retreat, and lunge backward outside of the attack. It mattered not as his primary target, the alpha gets cleaved in a drawn line across its frame. The damage wasn't extreme but Raidou was hard to ignore, as the beast scattered to the wind. ID# 151782 results: Battle: 4+3-1=6, Hit vs Venomous Warg dealing 16 damage! It seemed misleading, as Raidou's health flickers to full before returning to the same spot. "You're not having any trouble are you, Raidou." Kasumi whispers to the backdrop of wooden pillars that she was hidden in. Her moment had come again, the alpha was laying dormant in the dust, sluggishly it draws to its feet and starts to head back toward Raidou. This left it exposed and separated from the others, a pulse of pink energy confirms her attentions. A shift of her feet as she approached changing her dominant shoulder and with it and extended palm that slams into the creature's ribcage. It crunches. A feeling that brings a bit of sickness to the girls stomach before it scatters along the dirt and bursts to shards of blue data. She takes a deep breath and with a glare, she remains strong before retiring into her cover. A glance shows Kasumi with an extended palm, a stance he was all too familiar with. "Good you pass, now we finish the rest!" Raidou barks out to Kasumi with a call to action, she had finished her task and now it was time for clean up. Raidou shifts and drops the heavy sword in a downward cleave onto one of the creatures, it is crushed flat under the impact. It lays in its depress in the earth, unable to act with the wind knocked out of its lungs. The creatures around the swordsman look on in artificial anger at the kill of their leader. This beckons a howl from the lot excluding the one incapacitated before they lunge at Raidou who shifts quickly to block the incoming blows. ID# 151794 results: Battle: 5+3=8, Hit vs. Wolf #1 dealing 24 damage! To his heel, one latches on and begins to drag, before it eats an elbow that breaks it lose. The other leaps into the air, Raidou shifts, and a glimmer of his glasses before an upward arc blow alter its trajectory. It slides past as it lands, sparks dissipate in the air with the kick of dust. It turns and shows its fangs, it was clearly not content with the parry. A sudden burst of speed drags her toward the remaining creatures. A rapid roundhouse tosses one into the ether, a scatter of pink pedals freefall as she displaces. She appears with the cardinal's assistance augmenting her movement, with a powerful heel knocking it airborne before a sudden overhead axe kick slams it in a spiral back to the ground. Landing as one lunge toward Raidou, she lifts her arms over her head in a cross before taking a neutral stance. A powerful pivoted strike from her hip, her right hand punches straight through where it leaps. It finds the incoming assault and chooses to abstain from action to prevent being on the receiving end. Moving to Raidou's side, it would be obvious the two were related given the eye color and the simple fact they worked so well together. Kasumi moves up to meet him and in response his blade takes to silver light, pushing forward to an upward cleave toward the remaining beast. It connects and tosses the creature upward. A hop to Raidou's shoulder Kasumi springboards off of his back, using twinned heels to redirect the wolf down to the earth. Raidou pivots and turns the concussive blade, a quick turn as it screams down at him from above. Like a batter at the cages, Raidou pivots and slams the black star into it reducing it to data in an ear deafening impact. It sprays shards of blue out in a cone, the beast does not even survive the hit long enough to fall. A flourish with a shift of his foot, as a darkened red pulse on his blade, matches the smoke rising from his robe. Kasumi lands with grace, a hefty pant from the exertion she had just had. She struggles a bit as reality had sunken in of what had just transpired, but it was becoming easier by the day. Looking back toward her cousin with earnest eyes, hoping she had proven her worth to him in more than just this test. She had come in here specifically after him, it would have been a shame to have him tell her to never leave the city while he put himself in harm's way time and time again. The silence was deafening as she waited for a word from him to confirm anything, the suspense was almost crushing. A gust of softened wind takes some of the leaves she had knocked loose airborne, along with her orange hair that was rather pungent in the night air. Kasumi looked troubled and confused, a fact the guild master would need to correct. "You pass Kasumi, you will be following the others on their journey should they succeed as well. Continue to grow and get stronger, do not let that feeling overwhelm you. I know what to expect from you, after all, I know you personally. Welcome to Firm Anima's O&I Kasumi Momoka." he pays the response to her before an adjust of his glasses, sheathing the cool silver broadsword onto his back. "Speak to Gatsby, complete your task, and await the next step. You did well, I am proud to call you family Kasumi." With these final words, her course should be clear, and as such Raidou heads into the canopy as he had numerous times prior. Kasumi smiles in a wide grin, as a quick hop toward the city of Urbus draws her closer to a finish of the night. She was tired, it had been a long day after the sword fish incident and now this. But in the end, she couldn't be happier, for she could continue what she wished. Into the yellowed lantern light, she approaches Gatsby who perks upon her arrival. "It's done?" he shouts as he notices the girl, and she pays him a smile. "They are dealt with, you and your family can rest easy." Kasumi remarks with a nod, as a grin, adorns the NPC's face as well. "Take these, its the least I could do for all you've done for me." he speaks as he clutches for her hands, passing a bag of coin and a couple of odds and ends into her grasp as a form of payment. Raidou 1 Posted May 30, 2020 Author #19 Report Share Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) Looking through the roster showed that Griswold would be next up, but he still had some time to kill before the next rendition. Thankfully the foliage was dense enough here to have a growth of herbs for him to utilize the downtime. Surely by now Kasumi had turned in her quest and was headed home, as a full fledged member of the guild. A shift of his hands along the sea of green shows a rather paltry sum of plants that would be worth claiming, his gathering skill active but showing none had the level of maturity required for refinement. A shift to a new section, it was at the attempt that was worth the time even if he were to leave empty handed it helped him maintain focus and steel himself for the next quest with a cleared serenity. A quick glance to his HUD showed it was pressing on 10 pm now, which beckons his travel back toward Gatsby after this last batch. ID# 151823 results: Craft: 11, Loot: 7+5=12 Failure! Kasumi 0 Posted May 30, 2020 #20 Report Share Posted May 30, 2020 With the quest turned in and reward divvied out to the girl in white, she yawns. Exhaustion was pressing in, which was expected given how late it was. Into the city of Urbus, she wondered how long of a night Raidou had ahead of him. But it was fitting, it was what she had come to expect of him. When he set his mind to something it was hard to persuade him otherwise, he was convinced this was necessary. This made her more curious about what he had experienced that made him think this. It would have to be another time, another place when she could ask him about it. Through the warp gate in a wrapped warp of blueish flash, she changes location to Floor 2. Through the darkened sky across the fields of crossing, she enters her shop and changes. Entering the pajamas she had been wearing before the call from the red wanderer, she slips back into the bedding and after a moment she falls asleep. With a smile still painted on her face.
