[SP-F22] Fishing for Royal Fishes <<King of Lakes>>

Recommended Posts

Alec stood from his crouched position after successfully attacking the King of Lakes. Slowly Alec stood up raising his ice rimmed shield before him to defend as he stared over its frosty edge to eye the monstrous fish like beast before him. This fight was only in its beginning phases and the heavily muscled Tank had a long way to go before defeating the monstrous beast before him. The large man reached out attempting to active his single target Sword Art Perunic Crash once more but the game denied his attempt and as the large man bent his knees and tried leaping into the air but the games denial of his action caused him to stumble as he flexed his tree trunk like legs. The momentary mishap caused him to miss his attack leaving him wide open to his foe. The King of Lakes threw it’s monstrous body into the air where it sailed like some form of whale breaching the surface of a clam body of water to slam to the ground with an earthquake like body slam. The force of the behemoths landing sent shock waves rippling through the ground Alec was standing upon knocking the heavily muscled man to the ground half pinned under the immense bulk of the beast. As the beast’s bulk landed atop the large Tank Alec managed to shift his shield up between himself and the King of Lakes allowing the icy rimmed edges of his shield to bite into the fish creatures body forming a small frosty patch on its underside.

The King of Lakes shifted it’s monstrous bulk off of Alec allowing him to inhale after the crushing weight left his larger than normal sized body. The heavily muscled man took several deep breaths as his pulse slowed and he regained his breath. Lifting his shield up before him the large man once more activated his Sword Art Perunic Crash as he bent his knees and flexed his tree trunk like legs launching himself into another high sailing arc that allowed him to view his surroundings and the accompanying countryside surrounding the placid lake before him. The wind rushed past his ears as he soared the the peak of his jump pausing in mid air the world became calm and serene as a faint smile played at the corners of his mouth before the large man began his meteoric like plummet towards the ground and his target. As Alec reached the ground he brought his Battle Ax over his head and swung it down crashing it into the ground before the King of Lakes sending a massive red slash flashing towards the behemoth of an aquatic creature. The slash of energy crashed into the beasts bulk and tore open a gaping red rent as red pixels exploded from the wound as if packed with dynamite. The beast let out a cacophonous bellow of pain and rage as the large man stuck his landing and remained crouched before the beast a savage grin upon his stern features.

The landing from his last activation of his Sword Art was rougher than the large man had planned for. As his tree trunk like legs bent to absorb the shock Alec attempted to flex them to rise but his aging knees buckled under the force and immense strain placed upon them causing the large heavily muscled man to stumble as he staggered trying to catch his footing the large Tank pinwheeled and tumbled landing flat upon the ground lying upon his back and staring up at the monstrosity towering above him. With an audible gulp the heavily muscled Tank watched as the King of Lakes reared back and pounced upon his prone form. With bare moments to spare Alec raised his shield up and placed between himself and the the beast toppling upon him. As the King of Lakes massive bulk slammed down upon Alec’s shield the heavily muscled man strained and fought to keep the creatures bulk form utterly and completely crushing him as he flexed his thick arms and massive chest launching the beast from on top of him. The King of Lakes sailed a short distance away and landed with a loud crash and cloud of dust as another frosty patch formed upon the massive beasts body where Alec’s shield had contacted its body. The icy patch of white frost spread forming a large oblong circle upon the King of Lake’s underbelly and chest.

Alec picked himself up off the ground and brushed off the dirt and pieces of grass stuck to himself and filling the joints of his bulky metal armor. He shot a sheepish grin over at the middle aged fisherman who was crouched down behind some crates on the dock watching the fight intently. As the heavily muscled Tank was cleaning himself off the giant four legged fish like creature surged forward impossibly fast and scooped the large man up in its expansive mouth and launched itself into the air where it did a series of flips that seemed impossible and highly unrealistic before it splashed into the water like an Olympic diver. Sweeping with it four tiny legs powerfully the King of Lakes dove towards the bottom of the lake. As the beast neared the bottom the large man who had been struggling and fighting the entire time finally managed to free himself from the beasts jaws. Thankful this was only a video game and had very little semblance on the real world Alec began to kick and pull with his thickly muscled arms and legs towards the surface.

The large man’s lungs and chest began to ache and burn from the long held breath as he began running out of air. Had this been the real world Alec would have surely drowned due to the massive heavy bulky armor he wore. Swimming would have been impossible in such a set of armor in the real world. As he broke the surface of the once more calm waters of the lake Alec began a strong steady crawl stroke to reach the edge of the lake and awaiting land. As he reached it Alec drug himself onto the shore and gulped in huge lungfuls of air as he fought to calm his pounding heart and slow his speeding pulse. As he reached the shore and hauled his tired body up onto the land the monstrous King of Lakes lunged for the large man and snapped its massive maw around the man snapping down on his hardened armor shell. The bite was viscous but thanks to Alec’s large amount of armor protection the bite had little to no effect as he brought his shield around and slammed it into the creature allowing the ice rimming his shield to bite into the beast.

The beast retreated a few steps allowing Alec to bring his shield back to its defensive position to defend against the much larger foe he faced. The heavily muscled Tank took a moment to stead himself as he prepared to activate his Sword Art Perunic Crash once more. As Alec tried to activate the Sword Art he failed yet again in activating it yet again. The large man bent his knees and tried leaping into the air but only ended up performing an impressive yet useless jump into the air and landing right back where he started with no other effect than simple jumping into the air for no reason what so ever. As he did the gigantic four legged fish creature snapped at its target but the sudden and random jump caused the King of Lakes to snap it’s oversized mouth at empty air causing a large snapping smacking sound. Alec let out a soft chuckle to himself fully aware of how comical and idiotic he must look right now jumping up and down for no reason as the giant beast thrashed its head around and chomped at empty air.

As Alec landed and the King of Lakes missed as well the large heavily muscled Tank assumed his defensive fighting position and readied for another round of combat. As Alec again tried to activate his Sword Art Perunic Crash he flexed his mighty tree trunk like legs once more and jumped into the air but as he leaped up his leg gave way and sent the large man into a sidelong roll more than a jump that caused him to spin and tumble in the air. As he descended towards the ground he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt there was no conceivable way he was going to save this wretched attempt and came crashing down on the side of his neck and shoulder jamming it horribly. As the large man crashed into the dirt causing a large divot the King of Lake launched itself into the air as well, but of course, it too fumbled as it tried to take to the air and soar like an eagle (into the sea??). But it’s failed attempt caused it to come crashing down on top of Alec and deepening the crater by several feet. This was going about as well as any other combat Alec had experienced while soloing quest here in this damnable virtual prison he now called “Home”.

Alec grunted and groaned as he heaved and pulled trying to dislodge himself from the bulk of the King of Lakes massive fish creature he was currently flailing about uselessly with at the moment. As he finally dislodged himself from under its massive bulk Alec tried yet again to activate his Perunic Crash Sword Art. The large man bent his knees and threw himself into the air finally achieving that which he had tried some many numerous times to achieve during this fight. As he sailed into the sky he raised his Battle Ax up over his head and brought it crashing down into the ground in front of his opponent causing a large red slash of energy to streak forth slamming into the King of Lake and opening one more large red slash across its chest which vented out more red pixels into the air that sparkled and twinkled as they slowly drifted to the ground and disappeared winking out into nothing as Alec stood up and readied himself for another round. As his foe bit into him causing another scratch to form beneath his armor that sealed up almost as soon as it was received. Alec’s shield caused another patch of frost to form on the beast as it contacted the King of Lakes scaly flesh again.

As Alec stood shield held before him and ax hanging loosely at his side ready to go around again. The large man flexed his knees and flexed trying to send himself into another leap as he tried once more to activate his Perunic Crash Sword Art again and once more failed in his attempt. As the large man jumped into the air for no other reason it seemed than to jump around, jump around, jump up jump and get down the King of Lakes timed its attack and snatched the large man out of the air closing its mighty jaws around his midsection and closing in what should have been a crushing grip but ended up felling more like an overly strong hug. The attack left another tiny scratch in the large mans flesh that his Battle Healing closed up fractions of a second after it formed. As the large man brought his shield around and thrust it up against the King of Lakes another frosty patch formed on the beasts flesh stiffening its scales and the fleshy meat beneath.

As the gigantic fish like beast lumbered back a few steps the heavily muscled Tank took the welcomed break to garb a few deep calming gulps of air as he forced his pulse and heart beat to slow their pounding race within his chest and head. As Alec found a semblance of peace and calm amid the turmoil of battle the large man raised his shield before him in a defensive stance as he held his Battle Ax in a loose fist at his side ready to raise it at the first sight of an opening in his opponents defenses. As the monstrous beast lumbered forward once more Alec brought his ax up and tried to enact his Sword Art Perunic Crash once more, but again the game system denied him his request. It wasn’t anything new to the large aging man so he accepted the failure as just yet another example of the normal way any fight of his would go. The King of Lakes lurched forward its mouth gaping impossibly wide as it aimed to gulp the over sized man whole into its gullet. As the maw began to close Alec dodged free at the last second narrowly avoiding becoming the four legged fishes meal. The large man took several steps back gaining the distance as he brought his shield up before him once more and readied himself to continue the fight.

After resetting his defenses Alec stood ready and wary for the King of Fishes next move. As he waited patiently he eyed the beast his foes health bar was in the yellow but was danger close to entering the red zone which would signify the nearing of the end of the battle. Alec took a calming breath as the King of Lakes once more began its pounding lumbering charge forward. As the beast approached Alec held his ground waiting for his moment. As his opponent neared Alec launched himself into the air but as his feet left the ground he was once more denied the activation of his Sword Art. The failure caused his leap to be much shorter and less impressive than he had originally intended but the failure seemed to have fooled the King of Lakes as it lunged for where Alec should have been if his Sword Art hadn’t failed to activate. As the aquatic monstrosity sailed through the air finding nothing but empty air Alec swore he could see a look of shock and confusion on the enormous beasts fish like face as it sailed majestically through the air only to come to a crashing halt as it slammed its humongous bulk into a tree trunk splitting the tree with a resounding crack that rumbled with the force of a thunder blast as it the beast ended in a jumbled pile of scales and leg like flippers.

The King of Lakes weebled and wobbled as it staggered around in an attempt to right itself and regain its footing. As the beast staggered around stunned Alec took the opening as a sign and quickly activated his Sword Art, this time the game rewarded him with the satisfaction of allowing the action to succeed as the heavily muscled man launched himself into the air soaring like a meteor to land just before the King of Lakes. As Alec rocketed towards the ground he brought his battle ax up over his head and swung it down with a fierce roar slamming the crescent shaped ax head into the ground before the giant fish beast and sending a wave of red energy crashing into the King of Lakes where the energy slammed into its bulbous body and opening a deep red gash across its chest which vented red pixels into the air as its health bar dropped into the red. The King of Lakes roared a booming sound that shook the very landscape surrounding it as it lunged forward towards the large man daring to fight it. As the King of Lakes loomed closer and closer Alec raised his shield to defend himself from the attack as the beast closed its looming mouth Alec managed to thrust his shield up blocking most the attacks damage and managing to slice the beast with icy edges of his ice rimmed shield causing a patch of frost to form at the corner of the King of Lakes mouth.

The successful attack and defense left the large man with a large grin across his face. This fight had been getting frustrating but the recent success managed to bolster the large man and renewed his conviction to fight. He would never give up as long as he had breath to take but sometimes his fights dragged on his patience and left him more frustrated than fulfilled but this most recent success had brought some added joy the the large man and he fought on with renewed vigor and zeal. As Alec stood with his shield held before him he eyed the hulking beast gauging it and waiting to see if it had a special attack that would be activated by dropping its health into the bottom quarter but nothing seemed to change about his opponent so Alec took that as a good sign and stepped forward to deliver a killing blow. As he stepped forward he stumbled on a rock jutting out of the ground and momentary distraction caused him to loose his focus and fail in the activation of his Sword Art. The King of Lakes roared and lumbered forward, but it too stumbled and ended in a head over flippers roll turning the beast into the largest bowling ball Alec had ever seen. With a gasp of surprise the large man threw himself into a side long dive rolling and tumbling in the dirt to avoid the rolling churning boulder of destruction that barreled forward to crash into the small boat house attached to the dock at the edge of the lake sending boards and nails and shingles flying into the air like party confetti as the beast ended in a jumbled amid the calamity.

Alec saw his golden opportunity and refused to allow it to disappear as he threw himself into a sprint barreling towards the prone beast and the opening its current state provided. As the heavily muscled man neared he launched himself into the air with a heave and a grunt sending himself sailing into the sky. As he neared the peak Alec brought his battle ax up over his head once more pausing mid flight with a sense of serenity as he glanced about himself and once more felt a sense of calm and peace at the sheer beauty and serenity of his surroundings as seen from what an eagle must see. With a growl of determination Alec threw himself towards the ground once more where he slammed the large crescent shaped blade of his battle ax into the ground sending another crashing wave of red energy sailing towards the King Lakes. As the arc of pure red energy slammed into the beast it opened yet another red slash across its torso releasing more red pixels as if opening up a whole in a dam the sheer pressure exploding forth into the vacuum now created from the opening. The King of Lakes roared in pain and denial as it lashed out with its massive mouth snapping at the large man who easily dodged free of the attack and came to a skidding halt a few feet away shield and ax held ready.

As Alec came to a skidding halt he bent his knees and with a surge of strength the large man flexed his tree trunk like legs and exploded into motion rocketing himself towards the King of Lakes but the sudden surge of speed caused the large man to miss time his attack and as he tried to throw himself into the air once more he stumbled and stuttered causing the attack to miss as he came to a staggering slipping stop far shorter of his target than he had intended. The fumble left the large man open and his defenses down allowing the King of Lakes to capitalize on the mistake. The huge beast charged its massive fish mouth gaping wide as it once more sought to swallow the large man completely whole. As the fish mouth began to close Alec brought his shield up as he stepped forward stepping on the inside of the monsters mouth as his shield blocked the top of the mouth from closing upon him. The beast clenched its gaping maw causing the large man to buckle slightly from the nearly over whelming pressure and strain but as he slowly began to compress the heavily muscled man grunted and surged upright with a monumental exertion and strength and forcing the beasts jaws wide Alec stepped free as he spotted another patch of frost begin to form on the inside of the King of Lakes opened mouth.

The King of Lakes surged into motion once more its enormous mouth gaping wider and wider before snapping closed like a spring loaded trap. This began to happen in rapid succession the surreal image made the large man burst out in peels of rolling laughter that shook his massive frame. The King of Lakes looked just like Pac Man, a video game character from Alec’s childhood. Pac Man would chomp and gobble up little pellets while trying to escape a group of ghosts with cheerful plucky names before gobbling a power pellet and then chomping up the ghosts to win a level. As the King of Lakes chomped forward Alec missed his chance to attack due to the peels of laughter shaking his whole body. But as the King of Lakes loomed over the large man Alec quickly regained his senses and brought his shield up blocking the clapping mouth with a wry chuckle Alec spoke in his deep baritone rumble. “Not today Pac Man. I ain’t Pinky, Blinky or any of the others. So not today pal.” Alec finished as he stepped free seeing another frost patch form the side of the King of Lakes mouth as his shield did its job delivering damage back at his attacker.

The King of Lakes showed no sign of stopping its enraged chomping as it continued to lumber around smacking its mouth closed before it popped open again as if it were spring loaded. Okay Alec thought to himself Pac Man phase it is I guess. With a resigned shrug the heavily muscled man stepped back and tried to activate his Sword Art once more to bring this fight to a close but as he stepped forward he staggered and failed once more to activate the Sword Art. The failure caused him to leave himself open again for another attack from the King of Lakes. As the beast chomped closer and closer Alec held his ground shield held ready and before himself. The King of Lakes lumbered into range and surged forward meaning to gobble the large man whole but once more Alec brought his shield up to keep the fish like creature from closing its mouth around his body. As the maw snapped down Alec was once more forced to concede slightly as the pressure forced him into a slight crouch before Alec exerted a surge of force and counter pressure forcing the oversized mouth wide and stepping free of the jaws as yet another patch of frost began to form on the inside of the King of Lakes mouth.

The King of Lakes continued its lumbering charge chasing the heavily muscled Tank in an attempt to swallow him whole. The continued charge left Alec no chance for a break as Alec fought to clam his heart rate and pounding pulse with a few quickly grabbed deep calming gulps of air as he forced his pulse and heart beat to slow their pounding race within his chest and head. As Alec fought top find some semblance of peace and calm amid the turmoil of battle the large man raised his shield before him in a defensive stance as he held his Battle Ax in a loose fist at his side ready to raise it at the first sight of an opening in his opponents defenses. As the monstrous beast lumbered forward once more Alec brought his ax up and tried to enact his Sword Art Perunic Crash once more, but again the game system denied him his request. It wasnt anything new to the large aging man so he accepted the failure as just yet another example of the normal way any fight of his would go.

This fight was began to take its tole on the large middle aged man. He still had plenty of energy on his bar but he could feel his muscles tiring and hoped for an end to the battle soon. As he glanced up to the King of Lakes health bar for the first time in what seemed forever he noted with a sense of satisfaction that his opponents health bar was nearly depleted. One more good hit and this fight was over. Alec grasped onto the though like a drowning man to a flotation device. As he settled his nerves and his mind Alec sought once more to activate his Sword Art but again the game denied his desire and he was forced to stand impotently before the massive beast as he waited for the King of Lakes to continue its relentless chomping as it surged forward towards the large man. As the King of Lakes came forward Alec readied himself for the attack raising his shield to eye level as his arm holding his battle ax rested easily by his side. As the King of Lakes loomed over the large man its maw gaping impossibly wide Alec narrowed his eyes and tensed his muscles awaiting the attack from the larger opponent. As the mouth began to close time seemed to stretch and Alec watched as a shadow began to descend over him darkening the world around him. As the light began to fade from the world Alec felt the pressure on his upraised arm as the King of Lakes mouth began to close down upon his shield and body. The unbelievable pressure forced the large man to bend and crumple as if the weight of the world were resting upon his broad shoulders. With a grunt and a heave the large man refused to accept this fate and forced the beasts jaws wide. As the edge of his shield contacted the King of Lakes mouth a frosty patch began to form. As the frost spread it soon over took the King of Lakes whole body turning it into a massive mountain of ice that shattered and exploded into a cascade of pixels that twinkled and sparkled in the now gleaming sunlight.

  • 2 weeks later...

As the sparkling twinkling pixels faded into nothing the heavily muscled man let a broad wide grin spread across his face as he glanced around himself. The grin quickly faded and shifted into horror and worry as he took in the carnage and wreckage surrounding him as a result from his most recent battle. As Alec looked around he spotted a large chunk of fish meat on the ground that looked to be about the size of a roast. Slowly the large man approached it as he called out in his deep baritone rumble. “Hello?!?! Fisherman?!?! You still alive?” As Ales reached the fish meat he heard a cracked screech from a short distance off into the wood line. Alec let out a deep sigh as he saw the fisherman appear from the woods creeping as if expecting trouble. As the fisherman saw the King of Lakes was no more his face lightened and let out in a high pitched cracking screech “THAT……WAS…….AWESOME!!!!” The prelude caused the large man to break out in deep full bodied laughs. “Glad to see you’re okay and enjoyed the show.” Alec responded as he picked up the meat noting the item tag attached Filet of King. Alec took the prize and placed it into his inventory with a satisfied nod to himself, this would surely come in handy in the future he thought to himself.
